Rose Noir by Byredo is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women and men. Rose Noir was launched in 2008. The fragrance features rose, grapefruit, freesia and musk.
Very, very similar to Guerlain Elixir Charnel Chypre Fatal and I like that one. Modern chypre rather then woody musky. If you want strong musky rose look for L`Arte di Gucci EdP.
This perfume is so sophisticated and beautiful. I'm generally not a fan of floral perfumes, particularly with strong rose notes, as they smell too "old lady" and powdery but Rose Noir took me by surprise. The rose smells quite sweet and citrusy, almost like rose turkish delight (but not that syrupy) with a slight spiciness. It's quite modern in that sense whilst still retaining a very classic rose quality. As the perfume dries a beautiful warm wood note comes through that is probably the most feminine I've ever smelt in a wood perfume. Overall a wonderful perfume for a sophisticated woman that is also very attractive for men- as my male friends testify to!
This pretty one made me laugh. :D Throughout the whole opening phase it smells like a bottled small nothern german stationery store! Precisely like one I occasionally go to! Ha, incredible.
Now as this won't help too much, this phase reminds me of wood, lots of paper, the earthy little garden behind the house and the rich green shop decoration.
When it dries down it changes noticably on my skin, looses some of this shop flair and turns more flowery, rosey, earthy until it fades to a (n imo not overly appealing) thin flowery sweet scent I can't really identify, maybe that is the freesia.
Not crazy about the last stage on my skin but I'm glad I have a sample of this interesting (cute small-town stationery store :D) fragrance.
This one is very jammy on me, and slightly boozy, which is always nice in a rose scent. I don't get many of the base notes, which are supposed to include oakmoss and cistus. A bright, jammy rose. Very pretty
I LOVE this scent. It's very lovely and I've recieved many compliments with it.
A bit of obnoxious sour rose , thin instead of rich, with an acidic citrus note and some warmth from the freesia note. I like many rose fragrances but not this one.
