I have the body mist 100 ml bottle, since I could not find any of the EDT left in the stores in my country. I remember smelling this perfume from magazine ad strips when it was first launched and I must say: I have no clue why did Cacharel discontinue this fragrance since it is so yummy... To me it's the smell of cherry and amaretto liquer + vanilla. Even though it would sound overwhelming, considerring it's summer, actually it is a very refreshing fragrance . I wore Gloria today at the office and everyone asked me what was that nice parfume I was wearing.I love GLORIA and GLORIA loves me too:)) !!!

I really,really wish i still had this perfume!Its not often i use a whole fragrance to the end.But i did with this one!Its sweet,a bit spicy and very comforting.I remmember my shirts and tops feld so soft by the lovely base notes in it.One perfume i never forget,how can they stop making perfumes like this?They just dont make smells like this anymore all the new ones smells the same..

@Sophie: I was fortunate enough to be the proud owner of the body mist for some time ago and I'd say that its pretty close to the perfume, just somewhat lighter. However the body milk is totally different, consisting almost entirely only of spicy notes. Funny, that I have always associated the delicious scent of tea with Gloria perfume, but now I see from the notes chart that there is no sign of tea in it (not even bergamot- I'm an Earl Gray addict):P

Edible, delicious....why on earth was it discontinued?! So sad. I bought a bottle of Gloria Oil recently (lurking in an ancient pharmacy, covered with dust) & although it wasn't quite the same it was still truely scrumptious. Very food-like - nutty, chocolatey almost. Mmmmmmm. The hunt is on for a replacement....

Sweet cherry compote or cherry pie with nuts. Nice scent, but I don't now, does I realy want to smell like cherry pie.

I tested this in a cosmetics store not knowing what it was and the positive comments from here. At first I really hate the top an dmiddle notes of Gloria as it made me smell like an alcohorlic or an old lady who used herbal oil for some kind of sickness, I just left it on the shelf and didn't care for it. But after an hour when I smelt my arm, I noticed a very subtle cherry vanilla note which I like very much. Then I came back to this website and read all the comments about Gloria, OMG, I didn't know it was so famous amoung perfume junkies! Today I am so lucky to buy 2 100ml EDT, the first impression of Gloria to me is still the same, but I am totally addicted to the base note of it. It's really nice and good for all occations. I am enjoying it now~

@perfumes_addict :In my home town there is one little perfumery shop where there are some discontinued or hard to find fragrances,like By D&G,Gloria(which was very dusty and i saw it in the last moment),It was only one,if there were two i would buy it and we could swap......I saw in another place(where also has hard to find frags) body mist 30 ml,but without the box

Perhaps you could give us a hint on where did you find a perfume which is not made by Cacharel for years?

If you do write about this perfume and say you have just purchase it from somewhere, I think it is fair for you to tell us where/how, especially because, as you can see, there are many Gloria lovers out there and Gloria is impossible (literally) to find in nowadays.

Hey, girls! I think you should try Benetton B United for a replacement of Gloria. They seem quite similar to me, especially in the top and heart notes. I've had Gloria a while ago and, as far as I remember,it was a bit more refined than B United. Give it a try and tell us your opinions!

to all the gloria fans out there: Gloria is NOTHING like flowerbomb. believe me, i bought flowerbomb to replace gloria and it has nothing similar to gloria. they are sooooooo different. don't get me wrong: flowerbomb is also a lovely perfume (although at first i didn't quite like it, not because it didn't smell good, but because i was disappointed that it wasn't like Gloria). flowerbomb is sweet in a different way (it's candy sweet) and it's floral...flowerbomb is similar to carolina herrera 212 sexy. from my point of view, gloria is unique and i don't know if i'll ever find something like that again... i guess not, because i've been searching for quite a while.

Although I am not a fan of oriental scent, I really liked Gloria..the almond scent was light and felt warm on my skin..a light oriental..quite unique in my opinion!

For all those heartbroken ladies out there, fragranceboutique.co.za in South Africa sells a Gloria equivalent. It is unbranded and sourced directly from Grasse. I have not smelt the original Gloria myself, but ordered myself a bottle and was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful fragrance and its longevity. I’ve noticed that Gloria has become almost impossible to find online and I’m not sure if the SA site will ship internationally, but I guess it might be worth a try to find out. I’d love to know how this compares to the original Gloria everyone holds in such high esteem.

My heart is broken as well because of the disappearance of this darling. It was love at first sniff...Never got to own it, was looking for the right moment...and when it came, the fragrance had vanished from the face of the earth (at least from the perfume shop shelves)! So sad when a fragrance gets discounted...its like they would take away some of your best memories, never to be returned again... :( I dont see myself replacing it with Flowerbomb...it is just too commercial for my liking...which I thought Gloria wasn't.

Totally forgot I ever owned this one. From what i can remember it was gorgeous. A softer version of Flowerbomb I agree.

Lovely blend of cherry, amber and almond, also with nice floral notes with a PERFECT drydown.. I bought a huge bottle when it first released, then quickly finished and bought another bottle of this beautiful perfume.. Never thought that it was going to be discontinued one day :-( when I went to department store I could not believe that it is not available anymore.. It was much much better than new released fragrances of Cacharel, such as Amour Amour or Promess which have no character in my opinion. But interesting thing happen recently. I met a lady in a conference and she was smelling exactly like Gloria and I approached her to ask where she bought it (normally I am very shy of asking these....) but she said it is not Gloria, she was wearing Flowerbomb of V&R.. Couple of weeks later a lady in our office was wearing a perfume which is very similar to Gloria, and she said she was wearing Flowerbomb, again!!! Notes are different but Flowerbomb smelled very similar to Gloria, at least to me, on two different persons! so I will satisfy my passion for Gloria with Flowerbomb :-)

I found the most beautiful little set of Gloria products on Swedish ebay. There were four small bottles containing the EdP, body lotion, bath and body oil and a body mist. All bottles are in the same shape but has different transparent colours. Very cute. Now to the fragrance itself: On my skin it starts a bit reversed with a heavy - almost oily - bitter almond note. After that the scent feels a bit empty for a few minutes, but then the flowers join the composition together with the amber. The vanilla is easily detected from the heartnotes and together with the base notes the result is a varm woody and sweet fragrance with a lovley drydown. The scent feels very close to the skin but to my surprise I got a compliment the first day I wore it to work. So maybe its louder than I assumed? To sum up. Last year when I had it for a short while (and gave it away) I felt that every time I put it on i was surronded by bitter almond. But I didnt give it a fair chance to develope properly on my skin, Gloria is for me a very different perfume. It feels quiet and has gormand touch than I'm unused to. But it is also very lovable. Im happy to again have added Gloria to my collection. It was not love at first smell but instead I think this love has more longlasting qualities.

Yes, it is true, the lasting power is amazing. I put it on my wrist last night before going to bed and I got up in the sweet-cherry cloud this morning. This makes life better!

I had similar situation about a month ago - I found a 100 ml (!!!) bottle in the dusty old perfume shop...
I don't know, how many years this bottle was waiting for me there:-)
The wrapper of paper box was dusty and lost its shine, but the aroma is still perfect!

Now, once again, I'm a happy owner of Gloria. A spicy delicious cocktail of Amaretto with pepper and vanilla, decorated with a cherry.

Would be perfect for cold winter evenings, in front of fireplace, with glass of good wine...

So many people love this perfume, especially me! I am at a loss trying to find a new fragrance to replace Gloria. I had so many compliments when wearing this perfume from both men and women and recommended it to so many admirers, I can not believe isnt wasn't popular enough and am truly curious as to its demise. Why has it been discontinued? Will it be re-released under a new name.....in anticipetion for its return
