Jala Calypso St. Barth for women

Yaaay, finally a tropical fragrance that skips the fake-smelling coconut note! It's very heavy on the frangipani/jasmine and in the topnotes I swear it smells a little bit boozey...rum perhaps?? Like if I were drinking fresh pineapple juice laced with DARK rum while sitting on a tropical beach at sunset.☼ So nice to wear in January ☼

Capypso St. Barth JALA is a seriously heady floral mix. Not something that you'll want to don at the office--unless you want everyone around you to feel that you're all trapped in a greenhouse packed with cyclamen, frangipani and neroli! Phew, this is a BFFF: big fat floral fragrance--let the wearer beware!

I do not regard this as an oriental perfume, but a very natural and fresh bouquet of tropical flowers. If that is your sort of thing, then JALA will certainly satisfy with its super sillage and exceptional longevity!

Here is proof that you always should test before purchasing - to read the notes of Jala, it should be one of my absolute favorites. The white flowers, woody, powdery, amber-vanilla base... it's a recipe for bliss in my book.

However, it must simply be a matter of individual chemistry - this one doesn't work for me.

I know it is well loved by many - but I can offer no opinion at all - on my skin it is a funky marine detergent aroma, and that can't be right.

Tropical flowers in white. In this one you really can smell frangipani, and for me it's one of most "tropical" of flower scents, (along with the ylang ylang and it's not in Jala), bringing vivid memories of strong, exotic flower aromas in tropical evening.

This isn't anything new, I have smelled many other tropical flower perfumes quite like this, but I liked them all, and I do like Jala too.

Average lasting power and stays close to skin, not overpowering or strong.
