A fragrance for a woman who is self-assured, successful and modern, ‘Aimez-moi’ blends floral and woody notes to convey warmth, radiance and fulfillment in one’s individual achievements. Its name, simple yet daring, defies coy, seductive games and asserts itself in its direct challenge. The bottle, a veritable work of art, glows as though touched by a burst of sunshine and is encased in a striking royal blue and golden. Aimez - Moi was launched in 1996. The nose behind this fragrance is Dominique Ropion.

Just made a blind buy and I cant wait.. I'll report back, like previous comment, I too am rarely ever disapointed! In fact I think blind buys leave the buyer with usually much more information / knowledge on that perfume then walking into a store spraying a few times. sniffing then wipping out that plastic x)
This is my first Caron. If Aiméz-Moi represents a certain "Caron-ness", I now declare myself a collector!
It opens with very distinct anise/liqorice (I thought I didn't like liqorice, but maybe I should reconsider that).
It quickly becomes slightly bitter and very spicy. Lots of violets, but I don't find it overall very floral, more aromatic.
It turns sweeter quite fast, but it seems like a transparent sweetness that shifts with the spicy bitterness.
The best way I can explain it is that it's like when I sniff my wrist, it's a very dramatic spiceyness, I breathe once more, and there's the sweet, romantic overlay. Next time the same happens. I don't find it girly, but mystrious, dramatic and very unique. I just love it. Really.
edit: I must have been born under a lucky star. Every single time I bought a perfume blind, I've never been disappointed. Or maybe it's the reviews pages that do the trick...
Edit again: The lasting power is incredible! 12 hours and more. That's unususal on my skin. I believe it would last 2 days on other people! Best thing is that the drydown stays spicy.
OMG what a Beautifull and sweet daytime scent this is !! Soft, alluring, sweet but not candy like sweetness. Totally unrated imho. Very good with quality, long lasting.. wow. Very beautifull floral, did not notice oriental part, this is that soft and well balanced. Definitely I would recommend to try this Gem.
Very dry scent of anise, violets and mint. I like it a lot and I'm thinking to get a bottle, very fresh, tea-like scent. Reminds me of a rainy day.
I'll keep it short:
This is "Parma Violet and Aniseed candies" in a bottle.
Strong licorice smell on the beginning, a little bit minty. It smells fantastic and magical on my mother, she has black hair and blue eyes.
Aim-azing! A gorgeous scent of violets, mint and soft spring flowers. In the spring I would bathe in it if I could. The only problem was with my alpine arid climate, the edt would not last long on me. I swapped my edt, in a weak moment and consider it "the big one that got away". I intermittently search for the edp, to no avail. I would suggest this variable scent for a mature, classy creature. I'd love to try the edp if anyone has any samples to offer or swap.
Dear tzoutzou78 - you have my most grateful thanks and I wished I could hug you right now for introducing me to this scent!
This is LOVELY and one of the most perfect fresh, joyful and vigorating but equally classy orientals I have ever smelled! What sophistication! WANT WANT WANT - anyone wants to swap theirs?
To add to my last post , another highly recommended scent for violet fans is - "Fleurs d`Ombre Violette - Menthe " by Jean Charles Brosseau.
The above perfume , like Caron Aimez Moi , is said to be predominantly violet and mint , which is think sounds delicious !!
Anybody out there whos not in the UK with decants of these violet/minty unusual scents , if theres anything only available in the UK you would like me to get for you ( to swap ) , please do get in touch !
I'm pretty desperate to try this one , I am loving the descriptions by other members :)
I have a thing for VIOLET at the moment , and I'm intrigued by JazzBird's comment of "finally, a violet perfume that isn't completely bitterly green or overloaded with sugar!".
Im having great difficulty finding this in the UK. Of course i could order online from 1 of the big international fume sites ,but as its been described as a "weirdo " i need to test first.
Im also very keen to try - Apres L'Ondee.
Please if anyone has any tester vials to swap or sell , PM me !!
It is lovely!
A really feminine fragrance, revealing an interplay between violets and anise, on the verge of becoming gourmand, but the final feeling is more floral wood. I cannot discern the stated bergamot, maybe just a little at the end of the whiff's tail, adding to the complexity of the composition. On me, and to my liking, the violets are a bit more prominent, rendering it sweet, dry and feminine, and the shy wood deepens it, contributing to a soft and yet mysterious dry down- but still very pretty!
It smells indeed like Apres L'Ondee, which I also adore, but Aimez moi is darker and woodier, less fragile, with more persistent sillage, whereas ALO captivates with its ethereal pastel watercolours.
It means love me, but it is the same juice and not the name that realises this imperative.
(EDT)
the closest comaprison i can make to apres l'ondee
only the caron juice has amplified violet and anise base
caron steers this into atypical, unusual territory with an unexpected coolness of spearmint.
this juice is fantastic!
finally, a violet perfume that isn't completey bitterly green or overloaded with sugar!
I"m wearing an EDT version adverstised as 'vintage'. Caron toilettes tend to make me nervous, and this one confirmed my anxiety.
This just stinks. I know that does'nt make for a good review, so let me be more specific:
Picture a non-descript flower carried under someone's rank arm pit for a day. Roll the flower in saw dust, let an alley cat p*ss on it, set it in the attic to collect dust for a year, and there you go.
I can't even in good conscience fragrant my toilet with this, and that's saying something considering my bf had beans last night.
Whew, the door should have been shut on this stinker a while ago.
Wonderful fall fragrance. The top is very sweet and spicy with the mint, cardamom and anise but it goes a completely different direction with the drydown- dry woods and a prominent tobacco note. This is a very comforting scent, but it's also a bit weird. So test it first!
Mint. Violet. Blond woods.
I like it!
Violets, roses
Colors and flowers
Bathing
In shades of blue.
Drops drizzles your eyes lost in the door of the bar.
Whispering poetic words
Wet and anise.
A hot song brings whining
insistent ... endless ...
However, friendly and tender
As warm water shower
In the cold night.
Hot words and anise
While ...
Violets and roses in shades of blue
Continues to color.
Wow!! I am so jealous of all the above people who have tried this perfume and loved it.
I got it once, the full ounce version, and for me it smelled very chypre. It was very close to Moutsouko, which I can appreciate on other people, but to have it with me wherever I go is just a wee bit too much.
The scents that seem to be my comfort zone scents seem to be HYPNOSE, the light purple one, which I receive many compliments on, Birmane, C'est La vie, Ballogia, Asja, and a couple of others.
There are some which I go out of my way to wear, when I'm feeling that I need a little bit of an edge, but for some reason, the Aimes Moi was way too out of the solar system for me. This is definitely one where I can smell it on others, but not for me.
For me, if there was more of the VIOLET , or the musk and cloves that someone else mentioned, I would LOVE to give it another try, but I'm a little shy right now. I'm wondering if there are people out there who have the same comfort zone of fragrances that I do, who have the same chemical reactions when they wear them. I'll keep my eyes out for other reviews.
Aimez Moi is what Insolence dreams about being once it is released from the asylum! Indeed Aimez Moi is a very, very sweet, gourmand variety of violet with a strong anise flavour in the background. Violet flavoured liquoice. I found myself in the unaccountable position of desiring to cannibalise my own limbs!
It is the opening and heart which is most addictive. They are very sweet but never overwhelming and I find them balanced quite nicely with floral elements, anise and the freshness of mint working in the background.
The woody drydown however turns anemic and bitter on my skin, which is so very disappointing. Of course, I have the new EDT version in the cystic noduled bottle and I am unsure if the naf domed bottle holds a different flavour of treasure? In the interim, I will simply need to 'refresh' my candy cravings with a renewed spray whenever the lame woody drydown becomes too disheartening.
Violets are naturally sweet, but Caron AIMEZ-MOI opens more like violet dextrose to my nose: we're talking major diabetic coma potential here. Fortunately, the sweetness subsides to some extent as the perfume develops, but unfortunately I never really get past the sweet violets to most of the other notes of the composition, with the exception of anise. The drydown becomes slightly woody but is still rather sweet.
I like AIMEZ-MOI, but I believe that this is only because I am a violet fanatic. (Know thyself.) I have taken to layering this creation with Borsari VIOLETTA DI PARMA on top. The Borsari "edp" has poor staying power but moderates the sweetness of AIMEZ-MOI edt (which has better longevity and bigger sillage) to the point where I find myself in violet heaven once again. My favorite violet-centric fragrance, however, remains EAU DE NOHO, which I find considerably more complex than either the Borsari or the Caron, even combined.
I have to review my earlier comment. Aimez-moi is not similar to Champs-Elysees, it is an exquisite dense fragrance, of a quality wich is not matched in present newer creations. Mysterious, strong, sweet, full of rose, and something sharpy, probably the mint.It stands out from the crowd and it's hard to describe, like most fragrance masterpieces from the 90ties.
I got Aimez moi as a sample and tested it today. After I put it on I get the heavy smell of violet with anise and mint. It smells very strong. The anise and mint tingles my nose abit. The violet is so over powering that it make me a bit nauseous. Its a well composed violet perfume but to strong for my taste.
Is it me or this perfume is a clone of Guerlain Champs-Elysees? I have got a sample from a swap and I cannot believe that I did't receive Champs-Elysees.
Hmm... I didn't think that I would like this one but I DOOOO! Star anise, mint and violets sounded like a diasterous combination and I was also afraid that the violet would dissapear somewhere in between these potent herbs. But instead it is enhanced by the anis and made fresh by the mint.
Also, since I've been sampling Lolita Lempicka so much I no longer worry about licorice notes. Instead I find them quite fascinating. But this is not a gourmand, it's a slightly spiced up violet on a powdery soft flower pillow. It is very delightful. And I do love Carons way of making the basenotes so delicate and well balanced. Well done Caron, I just wish that it would last longer on my skin.
This is a truly masterpiece. It's so pretty and addictive. At the beginning I get mint, lots of it, then the flowers hit in I get such a bubbly, champagne like smell that makes me want to smell my wrists all the time. It's not sweet, nor spicy, nor citrus. I feel champagne on my wrists and I'm loving it. I've never smelt any perfume like this. Gorgeous.
Got this as a sample. I must have the kind of chemistry that makes fragrance with a dominant note of violet stand out too much. Dont get me wrong, I like the smell of violets, its just that when I where scents like Aimez-Moi, Creeds love in black, Insolence, Lolita Lempicka, and Anglomania. All I can smell on my skin is Violets. It takes over my skin and becomes the only note I can smell.
This one will go into the pile of samples with my other violet scents I never wear.
The Anise notes in this perfume are just fabulous!! mixed with soft notes of violets and mint, making a perfect combination to create a soft and elegant fragrance. Aimez Moi can be the girlfriend of Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin both two work so well the violet and anise.
This fragrance is a sweet and not so strong scent (like others Oriental floral), with a beautiful combination of Violet, Anise(Dominant note),and Mint. Aimez Moi dry down is divine! I highly recommend this unusual and beauty scent.
I have tested Aimez-moi today and I am quite surprised that this perfume fits well with my skin chemistry. Normally I don't like fragrances with dominant notes of violet, anise and licorice because I find them way too sharp and strong. Instead Aimez-moi is distinct but in the same time a decent, woody, unusual fragrance with a dreamy sillage.
Thanks doctormod for the carded sample! I've been curious about this one for a while now :)
Now that I have it, it was everything I expected. Anise and violet. If you don't like either of those notes, you'll need to look somewhere else. The begining is a whiplash of spices (anise, cardamom, and mint) with no citrusy bergamont to my nose. And of course violet. The overall impression is very unique and unusual; it's definitely a smell you would remember. I find that the anise and violet from the top notes stick around all the way down to the base. Along that fragrant journey down the rabbit-hole, you meet Mrs. Rose and (I swear it's there) Dame Carnation. Say hello briefly, wave goodbye, oh HELLO Mr. Sandalwood! And his good friends, Amber and Moss!
This perfume is not my type (I dislike anise AND violet), but it is beautifully crafted and just adorable! I feel like it tells a story, an oriental fairytale full of spiced lands and magic carpets in the distance. An enjoyable voyage from the mundane.
Now excuse me - I really need to go wash this off. :)
I am sampling Aimez-Moi this week, and it is really resonating with me- all of the initial sharpness I sensed from initially sniffing it from the bottle is gone- what I'm mainly picking up on my skin are violets and roses, with a soft dry-down- very appealing!
I didnt expect to like it because I have tried some of Caron`s frags before and they smelled kinda old-fashioned to my nose.I know that they are old classic, but i didnt liked them.I risked and i got it blind..and I fell in love from the first sniff!I RELLY LOVE IT!Very fresh and anise opening, sparkling, bright and sofisticated. Then it settles down to a nice lil powdery violet+heliotrope scent which lasts and lasts and make me feel so dam happy!:)love it!
Very pretty and playful indeed but all I get is the powdery iris. It changes little in the drydown. It is a romantic fragrance for the younger audience but not my cup of tea with its powder-puff sweetness.
I dont know why when i sniff it,it reminds me of liquoirce..But i like it very much, classy and feminine. It gets softer after a while and the drydown is great.
Very sharp and a little harsh at first- top-notes remind me of my initial yikes reaction to L'Heure Bleue- but in my opinion, it has more appealing mid and base-notes, and this makes me want to try it again- like a person that you meet and immediately clash with, yet you feel compelled to seek them out- there's more beneath the surface- or like a fruit that is prickly on the outside but is soft, sweet and mellow within-
I love this scent, it is so lighthearted, charming and perfect for summer. Feels very young and optimistic, but not "girly" in a sense that it does not resemble at all typical fruity-pink girly scents. It does have character and individuality, but it is pleasing to many people. I smell sweet violets with a darker hint of black tea in it, perhaps just a touch of sweet tobacco flowers (nicotiana).
Aimez Moi, a classic by the House of Caron ia a fabulous, classic, spicy oriental fragance.
An alluring magic scent formed by a balanced combination of anise, violet leaves, bergamot, tonka bean, helitrope, amber, musk and cloves.
This warm scent takes me to a magic world of princesses, warriors and dark forests.A scent of earth and burnt leaves...
Aimez-Moi is, in a word, Pretty. It is soft, fluffy, and adorable as a basketful of blue-eyed kittens. I too sense a similarity to Apres l'Ondee, which I love, but this one is more robust and textured. Where Al'O is a silvery-lavender silk chiffon wrap, Aimez-Moi is a pastel angora sweater.
The anise and violets are well-paired, and the magnolia adds a hint of creamy, lemony sweetness. I don't find the rose to be very prominent. Somehow it never becomes too sugary or too powdery, but stays fresh and lovely. Heliotrope in the base keeps it on the skin for hours.
Like Leesee, I find Aimez-Moi a happy, playful scent. It's romantic in a girly sense. Very lovely. It is, in fact, so youthful and optimistic that it nearly brings me to tears. I'm not youthful and optimistic these days, and this one is so gorgeously open-hearted that it makes me unaccountably sad.
This is lovely - the anise and violet make it very similar to Guerlain's Apree L'Ondee. Both are so well blended and have a haunting quality which creates a sense of calm and tranquility. Beautiful.
One of the best Caron's especially because( and i can prove it) the old magical stuff is not yet availabe. Still the anisic part is somehow week in my nose. Unfortunately in the opening i get mostly bergamot, and later i consider it to be more of a rose scent, with a lemony tinge probably from magnolia. It's a perfect girly scent, not extremelly sweet or bland. As it dries an extra powder puff come with the entrance of iris and the soft (like a chiffon babydoll) berry-ish vanilla. Always close to gourmand, never edible, one intellectual fragrance!
It opens with this oddly beautiful minty note mixed with a hint of licorice, which may not sound great but smells fantastic. I get quite a bit of powdery iris and magnolia for quite a while after spraying this one and it is lovely because it is not too overpowering or sickeningly sweet. The perfume has a very subtle note in the drydown and is quite faint in the traces it leaves on the skin. I can detect soft hints of what must be heliotrope still mixed in with a subtle minty fragrance 8 hours after I applied it. Lovely and yet sexy. I completely agree with others who describe this scent as romantic.
Based in part upon Caron's legendary N'Aimez que Moi, Aimez Moi is, like its predecessor, an essay on roses and violets, but with a distinctive pinch of licorice. The resulting scent is a youthful floral with a breezier -- dare I say, happier -- demeanor than N'Aimez que Moi, but I find myself longing for the melancholy gravitas of the original nonetheless.
Wow, thats pretty! Soft and floral. Loveing this. This is really getting my attention and doesn't remind me of anything else I have ever smelled. This is romantic and would be perfect to wear on a first date. A walk through the park, dinner for two, this needs attention and need to be showed off, If your wearing this please leave the house and let others smell you, this is Devine..
Absolutely gorgeous perfume. Spicier than floral on me
jacink, after your reading review, I want Aimez-Moi too:)
No matter when I wear this perfume I am complitmented or asked what I am wearing. Male or female this is loved by everyone - it is very sexy and yet soft enough to wear day or evening.
