Elixir Of Love Caswell Massey for women

i particularly love the dusting powder from this collection, although i adore the perfume version as well. it's so different from what i normally find myself drawn to as far as fragrance goes, but i've been hooked on it since the late 90's.

Amazing scent! Started with the dusting powder and then bought the spray. They pair well together, especially after a nice bath.

A really nice, delicate floral. It's so pleasant I feel anyone would like it. It is a tad romantic too. I smell all of the notes listed above. Also, it's not overpowering and perfume-y like so many floral fragrances are.

Bought this unsniffed from Caswell Massey's website and have no regrets, its a lovely scent. Actually, when I think of writing a review for a frag of this quality, I am aware of my own amateur status in the world of evaluating perfumes, I bet one of the more experienced reviewers here would be able to do more justice to a review, describing the evolution of the scent upon the skin in more detail and picking up the different notes accurately.
All I can say is that it is a rich fragrance, predominantly floral but my nose cannot pick up any specific note listed above. It wraps you up in a warm sensual delectable way. Great staying power, now I really really want the luxurious body cream in the blue box! Lovely fragrance, makes me feel rich and luxurious.

What a romantic, wistful scent with a feeling of mystery and "days gone by" to it. "Elixir of Love" opens on a creamy-sweet, cool white floral note (like fresh, waxy petals), with a good helping of lavender to keep it clean-smelling and smooth. The florals warm and become sweeter, more humid and slightly carnal in the way French fragrances traditionally do; there is life to this "clean" smell--warm skin (Saffron? Almond? The grape-juice-and-coconut-milk succulent balminess of passionflower?) beneath soap, a hint of nostalgia and tender sentimentality with such pretty florals--and the addition of lavender isn't just that of astringent, piney stems, but of lavender actually in bloom, of softly-sweet lavender buds, warming in the sun. "Elixir of Love" then becomes woodier and warmer, as something that smells like a fine quality sandalwood emerges. The sandal mixes with a balmy, hay-tea-and-vetiver type scent that I swear holds a hint of lemongrass, angelica (think of Crabtree & Evelyn's "Gardener's" collection and Les Nez's sweet but humid liquor note found in "L'Antimatiere"; that herbal, champagne-like sweetness mostly associated with Angelica) and the smell of sweet grass and other subtle herbs. Overall, "Elixir of Love" smells very clean with a hint of soap and grass; but the soap is of sheer glycerine and the grass is blue and dry. A distinctive, evocative scent that is sure to feel personal and unique, as it melds to the skin and highlights the personality of its wearer. "Elixir of Love" is also, surprisingly, fit for both ladies and gents and I can see this smelling particularily sexy on male skin, with its sweet sandalwood undertones and grassy, citrus and lavender notes.
