Lily of the Valley is bashful and innocent fragrance of springtime and new beginnings. It captures the fragrance of the sweetly scented bell flowers - muguet du bois in French - and remains a delicate reminder throughout the day.

Lily of the valley flowers have a layered scent: a warm, thick, sweet, somewhat waxy opening with a green, sharp, moist base. Caswell Massey's "Lily of the Valley" is almost all the base. It's too sharp, too green, and too wet. It's really not a very pleasant smell for a perfume. This is the only CM scent that I truly dislike.
