I have a bottle of this treasure that I just keep around when need an olfactory pick me up. Think of a sweet exotic candy that you would love to taste. This is more of a gourmand perfume, yet sensually elegant. Warming in the winter, luscious in the summer, it works anytime! It is almost childish, in a good way. Oriental for ladies genarally scare me. I think Opium! It falls into an oriental class, yet I would say "fruity-ental". This transcends the catagory. Limited floral notes make this something that borders on unisex. It is like a bedtime story in a bottle. A drop on the back of my hand puts me to sleep effortlessly.

I'm not a fan of vanilla perfumes. If I want to avoid migraines I should keep away from very sweet vanilla fragances. But Casmir by Chopard surprised me. It is a vanilla based fragance, but a very conforting and lovely one.

The bottle is beautiful with its golden cap, similar to mosques. The juice inside brings us all the mistery of the Orient. The sweet spicy vanilla scent makes us think of Persian princesses, flying carpets, the hot of the desert...

The first sprit of Casmir is a burst of fruit which develops to a cozy and warm scent of cinnamon.

I can feel in the dry-down mostly creamy amber-vanilla notes and some incense.

Casmir is potent and deep. It lasts a lot on my skin. It's perfect for evenings.

In my opinion it's a lovely perfume that will always be part of my collection.

I bought a 1.7oz bottle of Chopard Casmir, and I am in love. I debated ordering it for the longest time because it was something like thirty dollars and I'm trying to save money, but I don't regret it in the least. In fact, I wish I'd ordered the bigger bottle. I spritzed it on yesterday after tearing open the package, and at first, it was this cacophonous, vile blend of whatever the topnotes are... I was appalled. It smelled like those knockoff perfumes you find in drugstores... very generic, very strong, and very disgusting. I spent the first fifteen minutes of wear-time lamenting what I thought was a waste of money, until...

Oh god. Casmir is like... god-juice. It's warm without being spicy, oriental without being harsh, and as time goes on it becomes a mellow, cozy vanilla. I would bathe in this stuff if I could. The bottle is awkward to hold and spray, but it's... it's just so good. I spritzed some on at around 8pm yesterday and can still smell it on my wrists this morning.

This is everything I had hoped it would be, after the first fifteen minutes or so. I highly recommend it to any and all vanilla lovers; it's not sweet, but rather very, very comforting. A scent to snuggle by.

The immediate top notes remind me of the vanilla and juicy fruits in Hanae Mori. The fruits completely disappear and morph into a strong amber/vanilla. Very witchy and sexy!! Cinnamon dominates the middle notes smelling similar to L de Lolita Lempicka. The dry down tones down dramatically wearing close to the skin leaving me with perfect amounts of spicy incense, amber and creamy vanilla. I'll wear this more in winter. Very cozy!

Casmir is a very strong oriental bright fruity feisty scent that requires a certain amount of braveness to be carried around. I used to wear it 15 years ago (sic!) while at university and it surely kicked! The only thing disturbing for me is a coconut note I smelled and is not listed. Who knows?
It's lovely and comforting in winter.
I don't wear it now because it's a scent of the past for me.

I used to own this scent when I was at uni - a warm, creamy, winter scent. Quite heady & rich - almost food-like. To me, it was like drinking in a warm eggnog, soft, sweet & creamy with a hint of nutmeg & cinnamon - like sitting in front of a log fire whilst wrapped in the softest of cashmire. If it was colour it would be a jewel-like red flecked with gold. I love the original Burberry perfume, which has similar notes (same creator: Michel Almairac) but Casmir is more feisty & attention-grabbing than the more refined Burberry. She is more boudoir & busty than Burberry! I hope to buy this again soon....bring back memories.

Definitely a comfort scent, and definitely great in cooler weather! I didn't get any of the fruit notes on my skin either - it was mostly a soft, creamy vanilla with woody spices.

Very unique for a vanilla because it's not extremely sweet, just soft and comforting. Dry-down reminded me slightly of Tocade. Good staying power - about six hours for me.

When I wear Casmir in the cold winter days some warmth, mildness, sweetness envelopes me. Like snuggling in someone's arms, when I feel so nicely, so cozily.
Adore this creamy vanilla.
The perfume I'm definitely addicted to.

not really...I had it 2 timesto give second chance, unfortunately the smell is unnatural, rotty, heavy.
fragrance notes and a bottle are really AMAZING - but the whole scent :(..
I am disappointed

many years ago i smelled this scent, and it was sweet, oriental-so everything what i like about perfumes. Now i have to get a sample from somewhere to make sure if i still like it (im almost sure i will adore it:))

I completely forgot about this perfum! The reviewer is correct; it does remind me of Hanae Mori Butterfly! This may be slightly deeper / warmer.

Een heerlijke warme geur, vooral voor de winter em de avonden.
Ruikt een beetje naar toffee,s

I am surprisingly found myself liking this one a lot. It is so lush, warm and tender. Fresh, ripe and sunwarmth fruits are making this really mouthwatering. Like being in an calm and sunny indian fruitorchard filled with golden citruses and mango. On me it is sweet, delicious fruits all the way. Not usually a big fan of fruity and very sweet perfumes, Casmir manage to be that, but on me never to much of it. Juicy, vanilly and a true comfortscent. Perfect a day like today when it is snowing here. The drydown with subtle golden amber and creamy vanilla is nice and longlasting. But I do agree that this isn´t really an uniqe or special fragrance, but a must try if you like fruity vanillas, not to sweet or to teen.
01/03/09 06:31:46
I love Casmir!!had it when I was younger and cherished every little drop of it...and then there were Hanae Mori Blue Butterflies-it smells exactly like Casmir....!!am I a lonely sailor in this comparison?

Like Miss_Nightingale, I am guilty of assuming that I know what a fragrance will smell like just by reading the notes. This is clearly not right in my case.
Instead of a fruity opening I immediately get a dusty, bittersweet and heavy incense-like smell that seems to completely fill up my whole apartment. It's very unpleasant. That would be ok if it dried down to something nicer but it doesn't, it just stays this sickly sweet and dusty scent for hours and hours.
I finally had to scrub it off, first using soap and then 70% alcohol because it just wouldn't go away (I could still smell it a little after this, but one spray of Splendor succesfully put an end to it), so staying power is excellent.
I wil probably give this one to my mother and ask her not to use it when we have to ride in the same car together.

[edit] I wrote this review a month ago. Yesterday I tried Casmir again and I had a totally diffent experience. The opening now is very nice and fruity on me, quite peachy actually and the drydown is a warm and sweet (but not too sweet) vanilla. Just yummie. I think I must have been coming down with a cold or something last time I tried it because it now smells very very different. I really glad I gave this a second chance.

I got this today in the mail after a unsniffed purchase. It is different from what I expected. I thought it would be very foody sweet and strong. It is more like a comfotable amber or incense with a fruity like smell to it. Somehow this smells very familiar to me, so it is not very exiting. Still it smells good. I will try it today and write a longer review later.

---

I came to the conclution that I liked this fragrance, but like I said familiar to the point of being boring. I guess it was a very 90s fragrance. Though I am sensitive this one did not at all give me a headace. With mixed emotions I am swapping it away for something more dangerous...
12/29/08 04:16:13
How utterly intriguing Casmir is, and not what I was expecting at all. I am guilty of making assumptions based on reading the list of notes and even from the packaging and good old-fashioned opulence of the bottle.

I was ready to receive an intensely fruity oriental that dried down to punchy yet mysterious woodsy musks. Instead, I get a mouthwateringly fresh peach opening mixed with vanilla bean and some spicy brandied notes later on. I couldn't detect any raspberry or blackcurrant at all, which really I would rather have than the peach, but that's just my personal preference for red fruits.

First spray I decided I really didn't like it all, in just a couple of minutes I detected a non-sickly marzipan and white chocolate, at times even hints of mint tea floated up to me. The longer I wear this, the more it changes, the further it surprises and delights me. Perfect for the winter - I have been wearing this today (Christmas Day!) and it suited the occasion perfectly.

A puzzling confection that wont be to everyone's tastes and isn't a 'safe' choice, but a really welcome addition to my fragrance wardrobe.

It is THICK, inoxicating, sweet, warm.. utterly comforting!!

You smell vanilla but not in the sickly sweet way... in a more intense coconutty way. (escuse the horrid vocabulary but im lost for words)

I cant say youll wear it everyday, but for now and then..especially to warm you in winter..this is fabulous!
12/19/08 15:32:19
Goes on fruity, peachy coconut with a sense of incense, but ends up oriental. I don't like it at all. The peach/coconut incense returns as the scent dries down, but it can’t defeat the standard ‘oriental’ style ending with all the heavy ambery florals that suggests.
12/14/08 11:59:03
My favorite (so far!) of my latest batch of testers. Casmir has a strange aroma on my skin--almost like a plastic doll I remember from childhood. Unusual, yes, but yet I can't stop sniffing my wrist. It also smells a bit like canned fruit cocktail, the variety that is packed in water instead of syrup, so it's a little less sweet. LOL! Although I have not smelled this perfume until now, I'm dredging up lots of a childhood memories with this scent. Perhaps that's why I'm enjoying it so much.

It is a very pretty, very feminine scent, with an overall quality of vanilla (more like the earthy vanilla pod, not the buttercream frosting variety). Fans of oriental vanillas will probably enjoy it.

My little girl and I love to look for new perfumes togeather and ended up in a shop. The man asked what I liked scent wise and went to the back for this one. I was a little unsure when I saw the older look of the package but when he sprayed me mmmmmm so warm and femanine but almost delicious. There is a carnation note that is so soft and sweet. Definantly lasted until my shower that night! I will get this one soon :) update: Got it for my birthday and I LOVE it! I will wear it every day of this month!

This morning first snow has arrived...
One of the best perfumes for chilly weather - Casmir.
It has this rare full conformity of aroma to its name and a bottle. Sandalwood impregnated by vanilla, candied dried fruits, slight smokiness of balsams in the "after-smell". Very sweet, intimate and warm, full of erotism of Indian culture.
11/22/08 02:14:57
So sweet, delicate and exciting! It makes me think of Xmas cake with orange peels and aromatic liquer inside. I love the top fruity notes and especially the peach and black currant!!! It is sweet and at the same time fresh cos of the fruity notes...It is a great purchase, i love it. And it really reminds so much of Mira Bai but I prefer Casmir instead of it.

This perfume sounds like the perfect fragrance for me...but turned out to smell like rotting fruit (perhaps peach?) on me. I loved the top notes and could get whiffs of warm vanilla but could not get over the whiffs of "off" fruit that came with it. Ended up giving the bottle away! Shame!
10/30/08 15:36:35
I tried this one yesterday.
To my surprise it was alot softer than i imagined it to be.
Vanilla rich and creamy, mmmmmm good enough to eat!
10/25/08 03:42:48
Vanilla sweetness. A heavy scent perfect for cold weather. I cannot detect fruit in this perfume either..to me it is all vanilla. When I wear this my coworkers tell me I smell like a cookie...I'm not sure that's a compliment necessarily but I do like this perfume very much and find myself reaching for it when the snow is on the ground and I want a scent that wraps around me like a blanket.
10/17/08 15:46:35
Very sweet and special, I like it in cold weather. But I can't smell the fruits in this fragrance.
10/03/08 13:57:50
This is a fragrance I will always love. It's sweet with a dark vanilla after smell. I don't detect any fruit notes at all, just a sweet caramel vanilla smell with a slight spicy note. I only wear it on special occasions because I want my bottle to last, it's very warm and sensual. A classic that I will always cherish and love. I came about this fragrance by mistake. At the time I was working at a department store and saw this tester. Sprayed it and loved it immediately. I didn't know what chopard was and really didn't know to much about fragrances and brands. That's when my love for Chopard started. I just love their fragrances but out of all they're scents this one is number 1 for me.
10/03/08 13:11:42
I first encountered Casmir as a magazine insert.... I tracked it down and bought the perfume. Casmir is warm and welcoming, like cake baking in the oven. It's a dense fragrance that goes best under clothes.
08/09/08 09:40:45
It has the name with the exact description for the scent. Feels like cashmire, makes you fly over the clouds totally happy. I think it creates a mysterious and inviting woman on the ones who wear, so really oriental. I always keep a 30ml in my wardrope for wooly sweaters in cold winter days.
06/20/08 05:55:04
Casmir is a sentimental favorite - it was one of my first "real" perfumes as a young woman. On me, it's mostly woods, spices, and vanilla; I don't detect the fruit notes. Casmir is delicious, comforting and warm. Not a formal fragrance, it's rather earthy and casual. Many compliments when I wear this. A favorite in the cooler weather.
