The house of Christian Audiger is adding another fragrant pair to their Ed Hardy collection. The pair is named Born Wild, available in version for men and women from November 2010.
Moto of Ed Hardy Born Wild For Women is “Let this daring fragrance take you on an adventure as impossible to resist as the woman wearing it.“ The feminine version is created by perfumer Calice Becker who wanted to depict a tropical island, warm sunset, long beaches and tasty cocktails. The perfume opens with refreshing fruity aromas of blackberry and black currant buds. A heart develops into intoxicating accords of magnolia and peach blossom. Notes of base continue the story with flowers and wood – lily of the valley and sandalwood and finally only attractive scent of musk lingers on the skin.
Flacon of the new edition of Born Wild for Women is coloured in gentle pink, but a painting/tattoo on its front side reveals its true nature – that of a lady pirate. The flacon also features a pirate-style seal and signature of Ed Hardy. The fragrance arrives as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum accompanied by shimmering body lotion and bath and shower gel.
reminds me of watermelon candy, very sweet and fruity like a watermelon flavored Jolly Rancher! perfect for the spring and summer and the lasting power is ok, about 4 hours which is good since I have no problem switching scents through the day, so many fragrances, so little time. if your up for smelling sweet and casual, I'd get this, it would look cool on anyone's vanity dresser
This perfume is so good and fruity that it almost smells edible! According to the notes it is blackberries that are that yummy top note, but to me it smells like candied cranberries, but either way it smells delightful. The berry scent remains throughout as you start to pick up on the magnolia, peach blossom, and lily of the valley, and then the drydown consists of predominately sandlewood with just a hint of musk. This is a rich fruity floral scent with slight woody undertones. Usually fruity florals are best in spring and summer, but I think this is an exception to the rule, as the candied cranberry scent puts me in mind of the fall/winter/holiday spicy sweet aromas.
I have this perfume and I love it. In the beginning it smells like fruits. Then at the end it smells like soap, a good kind of soap. But that's probably just because of the fruits mixing in. But other than that it smells pretty good.
I found this perfume at the Bay and simply adore the scents of edible dewberry and cassis buds blend with magnolia and peach blossems ending with musk/sandelwood base. Its really yummy smelling and I wear it casually during the day when im at school!
I find it to smell like a headier and more rasperry-ladden fruit-pie-like Heiress... Reminds me of fieldberry jam , grape bubble-gum and purple vinyl. Go figure but I do love it! I wear it when feeling playful in summer (nice that it is uber fruity yet not overly sweet in a cloying way). Also nice as a nite scent (fruit do calm me!) . It might not have the longest staying power on me but it delights my senses enuf to enjoy it as the sweet gift it was! xxxx
Ita too sickingly sweet for me. It was so bad that I had to get rid of it. I could never wear that on my skin, it would give me a sugar rush followed by a bad case of headache.
i tried this one today .i dislike it very much,i do not get ANY fruit at all!just an artificial citrus followed by a choking floral blend finishing in a cheap musk scent.i dislike very much and will never wear this again.
I am a 24 year old guy, and I was smelling women perfume for a gift. This was one of the top pick out of maybe 25 I smelled. I personally like citrus, sweet, floral type of scent. My 3 favorites were Ed Hardy - Born Wild, DKNY - Be Delicious, Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy (not in order).
Wouldn't say I'll wear this to go out to a Very special Occasion... maybe to wear if I'm going by a friends house? I loved it at first but then it's like an okay perfume now.
Whenever I spray this on it reminds me of Christmas time in New York because I picked up a gift set from there last year during the holiday season. Its my favorite blackberry fragrance. The bottle itself is so cute and its worth getting even if you don't like the fragrance itself just to display in your vanity. Its very summery but it also works very well as an all seasons fragrance.
My husband really likes this so I tried it. It's nice, sweet and fruity but not overwhelming. It's a nice frangrance, but it doesn't last that long on me so I have to give it an extra spray. It won't be my signature fragrance as it smells pretty common to me, but I'll get some use out of it. It will be good to wear to work as it is light and fresh.
I tried this in a shop the other day along with Hearts & Daggers. I can't remember which was which but one smelled like bubble gum and the other was sickly sweet like dewberry. Neither for me.
I love the tattoo design style of Ed Hardy stuff and for some reason thought that the scents would be more exciting.
Sexy, tart and sweet, like a drunk raspberry.
Very tropical fruity .... a nice summer fragrance! The lightest of the ed hardy fragrances in my opinion.
Okay, I really do not understand why this perfume is called BORN WILD?? From the image of Ed Hardy AND the name of the perfume--born wild..i expected something a bit edgier...a scent that a rocker chick would wear. BUT this scent is more like bubble-gum barbie type of girl. Its very fruity and sweet...and not surprisingly--its very generic. I'm not saying that it smells bad, its quite pleasant actually, its the type of scent that many people would find un-offensive and its likable (again its very generic). So yeah, I have more of a problem with the misnomer more than the "just-another-fruity-sweet" scent of this perfume. I mean if Ed Hardy was intending to create a fruity-tropical scent..why not just simply name it Tropical Paradise or something like that. The motto of this perfume is “Let this daring fragrance take you on an adventure as impossible to resist as the woman wearing it."---There's absolutely nothing daring about this fragrance!
For me this is a rather boring and very drugstorelike scent. Fresh floral like so many others.
Smells like Paris Hilton's first perfume
This wasn't really what i was expecting by the name. I thought it would be darker and edgier. I don't think this is a scent that anyone could detest. It is delicious, and inoffensive, but I find it very short lived on me.
Update. Although I very much liked this I wasn't willing to buy this at full price because of the lasting ability. I've recently found a mini of it and am dying to purchase it. The scent has really grown on me.
Strong and sweet berries fruity scent; very fruity and a little floral and very one dimensional. It smells like a raspberry scented room freshener actually. It's not terrible, but it's not something I'd wanna smell on a person. I'd better off with something from Bath & Body Works.
LOVE BORN WILD....thanks EH......my first love, and still in love, Love&Luck. Now, my second love, Born Wild. My chemistry works wonders with these two perfumes, and they last for hours on me!! Will always keep these two around:)
As I was walking out of Carson Pirie Scott yesterday I couldn't resist the scent of the new Ed Hardy Born Wild. I just had to have it! I turned and looked at my hubby, he handed me his American Express credit card :) Gotta love him!
i got this as samples.i wanted to try it first befor i got the big bottle but it wasent what i expected it would be. to me it dosent last long and it dosent have a one of a king smell its just like a spritz to me .i dont think i will be buying it. i LOVE all the other ED HARDY smells but this isnt one for me.
I like this a lot but it reminds me a lot of the original Ed Hardy for Women. I just smell a little bit more strawberry in it.
Infact just sprayed Born Wild on my left wrist and original Ed Hardy on my right. Born Wild is just straight sweet with strawberries. Ed Hardy smells more tropical and is not just one dimensional. I think I still like the original Ed Hardy better after all. But don't get me wrong, Born Wild is good, its just uncomplicated and straight sweet
I have to add on this one, the lasting power is not good. I had to spray it on several times yesterday to keep smelling it. It's unfortunate because I really enjoy the scent
smells like fresh fruity laundry that you smell when you walk outside. On me i got, blackberry, peach blossom, blackcurrant, a bit of lilly ...love it!calming fruity smell! For those who love fruity smell,i think ed hardy gives you that!that's why i am buying all of them, cause i love fruity smells!each one got their own fruit that's stands out! In ed hardy women,i got:strawberry mostly.in hearts and daggers i got: blood orange mostly.in born wild i got:blackcurrant mostly.in christian audigier i got: blackberry mostly.in love and luck i got :orange-wood mostly.so ,each ones got something different and fruity.love them!
Just as Gypsy Parfumista had said, this smells like bubblegum... it really does! And it also reminds me of beaches and tropical, fruit drinks(as Calice Becker wanted to depict). I basically smell blackberries, peach blossom, some flowers, a bit of sandalwood, and some musk(though I also understand the watermelon connection that C3C gets). It's quite a light scent, but a very nice one at that. And come to think of it, it reminds me of 'Paris Hilton Heiress'... They both share the same 'bubblegum' smell.
As for the bottle, I don't like it. But I like it more than 'Hearts & Daggers' and 'Ed Hardy edt'. Call me crazy, but I can't stand skeleton bones on the bottles of my perfume. So the pirate girl on Born Wild's bottle isn't *too* bad, I guess. Still, too 'harley davidson' for my taste, but such is life. Overall, I rate it a 6.5/10
SA threw a sample of this into my bag the other day, so I sprayed a bit on today just out of curiosity. First of all, I don't get the whole Ed Hardy thing, and I completely associate this brand with John Gosselin and the Rock of Love Girls.(needless to say, not my role models). This perfume smelled good, but is very unoriginal and has a little shampooish odor to it. It smells like Paris Hilton with a bit of strawberry. I won't be buying it and I'll be giving the remainder of the sample to my little sis.
Well I get fruity, no blackberry, and there's a vibe to it that makes me think watermelon. I don't get tropical island.
It is a very typical fruity floral no doubt about it. The moment I sprayed it on I thought of two other perfumes I own that smelled almost identical. That said it still has it's own twist.
It's so light I quickly forgot I was wearing it. One of those you catch on a whiff here and there to remind you you did put something on. That is a change from the overpowering start up of the other Ed Hardy's. You could actually reapply this while you were out and not offend anyone. Nice, super light, lasting power? Hmmmmm. I think similar to EH for women. It fades to the background and you have to put your wrist to your nose to smell it. I plan on spraying it on my clothes to see if it holds better. EH for women does not. We'll see.
Over all I like it. I purchased the travel size spray. I think that will probably be enough for me unless EH starts selling his perfume at the price it probably should be for how it preforms. Let's see, someone pricing their perfume based on longevity and sillage? Ya, probably not.
To me, this was a cavity waiting to happen. I like sweet scents okay, and fruits and florals together can be quite beautiful...but this-no way!
What Calice Becker was trying to depict with this scent (warm sunsets, long walks on the beach, tasty cocktails) sound like the "likes" section of a Playboy Playmate profile! And I could see a buxom, bleached blond with that vapid sparkle in her eye wearing this.
I mean to say this smells like bubble gum, for real...after spraying it on a paper test strip, and smelling deeply; I pushed it back across the counter and said throw this away! Those of you who "know me" as a regular reviewer on here, know that I give every fragrance I review the benefit of the doubt...so on my way back through the store to my car after shopping some more, I asked for the strip again. Yep! Still too sweet, too high school and way to feminine and synthetic pour moi! Sweet, sticky fruits, overpowering flowers and some woodiness surrounded in a cloud of very femme musk...not my cup of tea, or anyone else's I'd guess. This is more like kool-aid with twice the usual amount of sugar! Not really gourmand, just startlingly sweet with some hints of some edible sweetness...where are those tasty cocktails? I need to get this tatse out of my mouth...?
Sillage: yeah, its got it...
Longevity: ??? (had to get it away)
Overall: 1.5/5
I am fascinated and curious at how someone like Christian Audigier (Ed Hardy et. al.)could make a stunner like Born Wild for men, and then turn around and release this for the women (especially after the CA for her in the red bottle-a masterful conmposition to say the least). I guess they think all the "wild" guys go for the hotties with no depth and just want their "girls" sweet and tasty...what does that say about how the Industry perceives us?
I sampled this 2nite at Macy's... It seems like a typical fruity-floral but it is sooo long-lasting compared to Hearts and Daggers... I sprayed this on at 8 pm and at 4:53am it is still noticeable, and this is after atleast 2 handwashings and sanitizer... Guess they do listen 2 consumers afterall!!! Wouldnt mind having a bottle, I'm loving the peach in this... I just dont know about paying full price 4 it lol...
I got a sample vial of this at my local Dillards. I am wearing it tonight and I like it okay. It is very sweet and fruity and does remind me slightly of a tropical island but, I don't know if it is enough to shell out the bucks for a bottle. I would definitely wear it if I got it as a gift. Maybe I will wear it a couple of days and see if I like it enough to purchase later.
