Ed Hardy Love & Luck Fragrance Reviews

Nice soft, fresh scent. I like this because it doesn't seem like the scent is too overpowering and so I feel like I could wear this to work or anywhere without botheing anyone sensitive to perfumes. It starts out very citrus-y... it reminds me of lemongrass... (it must be the bergamot).. but it dries down to a really soft and sweet/powdery scent.

I used to go into Sear's and sample this fragrance all the time. I absolutely love it! But...

I received a gift set of Love & Luck for Christmas, and I must've gotten an off bottle, because the scent has NO staying power. NONE. 5 minutes, and gone. However, when I tested it, it lasted a lot longer. I feel ripped off but since this is a discontinued fragrance (to my knowledge) and I no longer have the box, I'm probably stuck with slightly scented water.

Basing off the tester, Love & Luck is a beautiful citrus with a hint of sweetness. If you can get a good bottle, this is a scent to have.

I hate to admit this, but I actually like Love & Luck...A friend sprayed a sample on my arm and I loved it, but when he said what it was, it was a total turn off because I hate Ed Hardy's fashion, (with all due respect to everyone out there who likes it).

Initially, I could swear I smelled some melon...The cute powderish cherry blossom whispers on the skin from the opening until drydown. A shy, blushing pink pepper settles right away, and the nectarine adds a very sheer tanginess at the end. There is also a soft, creamy musk that lingers on the skin..

I'm sure that if people smelled this one blindfolded they wouldn't believe this is an Ed Hardy fragance. The scent is nothing innovative, but it is cute and soothing...

I'm sure there is cherry blossom in this one, even though it's not listed here. I get no jasmine or patchouli. No blood oranges either.

Well, my friend gave me the samples, but here they are tempting me to get a full bottle...

Pretty decent sillage, and the longevity is unexpectedly good...

I received this as a high school graduation gift from my grandmother. I'll admit, at first whiff, it was way too strong and headache-inducing for me, but after a month, the headaches went away completely and I fell head-over-heels in love with this fragrance. (I think it was just because I was not into or used to perfumes at the time.)
The packaging is the same as Ed Hardy's previous release featuring a new color scheme and picture. The geisha with flushing red cheeks is a great description of this scent as well.
The scent is a very deep, strong, oriental reminiscent of The Gap's Om, but more of a nighttime, heavy version. Though I say this, it can easily be worn anytime of the day and all year round. (I associate this with summertime because I got it during the summer, but it is definitely heavy enough for winter.) This scent is also both timeless and ageless. Anyone can wear this at any point in time. Love & Luck does, however, scream personality, so it is not for the faint of heart and can easily become a signature scent.
The lasting power is perfect in my opinion. It does last all day but it does not stick around after a shower. Although, I do find the fresher the bottle the stronger the fragrance and the stronger the lasting power.
Overall, this receives a 10/10 from me. I wouldn't want to be without a bottle of this.

I'm not a fan of Ed Hardy whatsoever...I'm a snob and I think it's tacky and stupid. However, I was walking along the fragrances the other day and I discovered this little beauty. I cannot believe Ed Hardy put this out at one time. This is now discontinued, but I found myself ordering some online and I absolutely love it. It's my signature scent now. It lasts a long time on my skin, but I also got the skin lotion and I do some layering. I love the orange/apricot smell and it's very soft when it dries down. Again I'm just shocked this is an Ed Hardy perfume!!!

Although I was initially turned-off by the bottle (althougha geisha is better than a skull) and the brand (snobby, I admit), I really love this scent. It smells a lot like sake and plum wine, and although it is very fresh and crisp, it has a subtle sexy musk to it, as well. I prefer it for spring/summer, but it works as a daytime scent year long.

Have this as a mini perfume. It smells oriental, citrous and floral. Quite fresh and sharp. Lasting power is 4-5 hours on me. I get compliments and others like it. But over time this has become to strong and sharp for me.

A interesting oriental floral perfume I would say;)

On my skin it started off fresh, peppery, creamy, unedible sweet.

It dried down to a clean musk, vanilla-like-creamy light scent. Makes me think of a nice vanilla/sandlewood kind of laundry detergent. The drydown reminds me of 'fancy love' by Jessica Simpson.

I think it's a good daytime, friendly perfume. I would prefer wearing it in fall and winter.

I didn't smell patchouli.

It amuses me what I smell with this doesn't match it's notes :).

Subtile young fresh pleasant....the only problem i find with this perfume is longevity..my skin eats it up in about 30 mins and leaves no trace of it....

For the price they should improove the longevity aspect..lovely blend, but not buying it again unless they improove that subject.

I usually like woodsy fragrances and hate fruity ones, but this one is really amazing. Very different from all the rest I had, very interesting and unusual scent, obviously attracting attention in a very nice way. It lasts long on my skin and doesn't grow unpleasantly sweeter. The packaging suits the scent very well - it's just made for the different people :) Glad to join the club.

If this fragrance was in a different sort of package, I think it might attract a wider following, because it's surprisingly pleasing. I realize Ed Hardy caters to a sort of niche audience, but they have created a sunny, sweet, alluring little piece here, and I think the tattoo style art tends to repel the more sophisticated (read: snobbish like me) of their potential customers. As a bottle snob I don't tend to buy anything I wouldn't want seen sitting on my dresser, and I'm afraid to say that I find all the bottle designs for this brand a bit tacky. The actual scent? Happy citruses and a flippant note of pink pepper combine to make this a delightful little fruity floral. Is it ground-breaking? No. But it's pleasant and becomes quite soft after the first few minutes. I nice go-to for the girl who just wants to smell nice, without making any kind of bold statement.

My favorite of the Ed Hardy tattoo scents. It's exciting, capricious and fun. It's got character and zest, and the ability to change my mood from blah to Yee-haw within seconds. Love it.

Very fresh and clean, almost sharp at first but developing ever so nicely. I don't think I've smelled anything like it before. peppery scents, yes. Citrussy scents, yes. But this combination just does something very unique to me, and I certainly appreciate that.

quite sharp - i did get used to it though and wore it as an everyday scent!

not for a girly girl though as the notes are quite a chemical edge to them.

overall not too bad but i wouldn't rush out and buy again. oh and the bottle is crap!! the lid falls off all the time it seems to not attach to the bottle correctly grrr!

Perhaps, it's because I am not a fan of bergamot, but this initially smells sharply offensive to me. I love a great many of scents, but it's quite apparent this one does not do it for me. It's not a fruity floral gourmand, its more of a fruity floral- if you can even call it that. Sharpness, bitterness, alcohol, powerdy finish. Not for me.

Love & Luck smells like a delicious cocktail! So fruity I could drink it. The blood orange is fabulous. Love & Luck is much less sweet than the original Ed Hardy, and the follow up, Hearts and Daggers.
Its a very very hot day here and Love & Luck is lasting really well (several hours so far), and is totally appropriate for a summer day, or night. I'm glad I have this one.

The first time I tried this, I wasn't too sure right away as to how the scent would develop with me. I bought 5 sample vials, so I had plenty to get through to make up my mind. I thought it had a sort of cherry smell to it, and something that was a sharp scent, but died down and left a nice fragrance. Definitely one I like and I'd like to have again.

this perfume is nice, nothing super special in my eyes. like other reviewers say: citusy/spicy- you can smell the tangerine or citrus in it and also pink pepper. i'm not crazy about the drydown; i just don't lke cedar in my perfumes. (reminds me of a hamster cage) needless to say, i loved this perfume at first, but i think after a while the cedar got to me. i bought it probably 2 1/2 years ago in the spring and used it all spring and summer but then grew tired of it. i used at least half the bottle so if i never use it again i won't be upset. i like the original better. i do recommend this scent for the spring and summer but is good anytime of year.

HI

I love this site and almost never write reviews because so many of you do it way better, but maybe, I'll be able to help someone thinking about getting this one.

Do not buy without testing first. Today I've got a .7 ml for just 10 dollars and it came with a cosmetic bag that I'm really going to use.

Sorry to all of its fans but I think that this fume is overrated and overpriced. Nothing extraordinary, it's simple an lineal, last about 20 minutes on your skin. I have to say that I'm more into orientals nevertheless this is an insult to the consumer. Save your money for something else.

This fragrance is confused - it can't decide whether to be spicy, or just another boring floral/fruity. I find it to be a total waste of money, and it does not last. But, you could say that about all Ed Hardy scents...

A light and benign fruity-floral of the classic drugstore variety made up of generic mixed fruit heavy on the pineapple, generic florals and generic musk. I don’t know why a perfume like this even bothers to list specific notes, since they just aren’t there.

Within 15-20 minutes the fruity-floral opening dries down on my skin to a matte slightly fruity-woody musk. Just because I’ve seen the picture of the geisha on the card my sample came in, this drydown reminds me of rice powder. How suggestible we are! But then it gets a second wind and strengthens to a slightly fruity musk that’s not remarkable, but pleasant just the same. Sillage is moderate at all times, and the musk phase is tenacious enough to last all day.

Overall, Love and Luck is an unremarkable scent that I would have to classify as musk with short-lived, highly artificial fruity-floral top notes. I can see it as a favorite of those people who like to keep reapplying their spray every hour or so to refresh the top notes, meanwhile building up a tremendous musky base. Like Ed Hardy Woman, I suspect that the biggest thing this fragrance has going for it is the unique packaging.

A very gentle fragrance that lies close to my skin - almost like a non-perfume. It has a creamy rice and vanilla smell that is soft and comforting. I find it great for when I don't know what to wear or if I'm just lounging around at home. Also great to wear to bed. Sadly, it does not last long on me. Probably better for cooler seasons as it just disappears from my skin in summer.

I purchased the mini .25 oz the other day at my CVS and I'm glad I only got the mini. This is ok but defiently not something I would want in a full size. It's not sweet and girly enough for my liking. I love the original Ed Hardy women's and it's in my top 5 favorites but this just isn't me. To me it smells like something for maybe a tombiy. It is a nice smell just not exactly my taste.

When I first smelled Ed Hardy: Love & Luck I was shopping at Macy's around Christmas time. One of the perfume Ladies had sprayed it and she'd also sprayed True Religion for Women. Both smelled so good and with so many different scents wafting through my nose, I didn't know which I wanted more. I like both of them, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd definitely go with this one. True Religion doesn't last long. It does smell good, but it also smells like at least three other fragrances that I already own. However, this bottle of juice doesn't smell like anything I own and it has great sillage. It's definitely a fruity floral and more fruity than anything. I'm surprised at how much I like this considering the fact that I'm not into fruity fragrances like I used to be. I don't know if it's the jasmine, plums, nectarines or black currants that I'm enjoying so much, but either way this is a smell that's excellant to wear. I'd say it's more of a day time fragrance and it's perfect for this warm and sunny season. I love soaking up the sun with this fruity concoction. It's modern, fresh and ideal for a summer vacation.

Ed Hardy Love & Luck starts with a burst of cirtrus scents that reminds me a LOT of Funny! by Moschino, and for about 2-3 hours, it stays in the floral fruity orange-y fresh mouth-watering fruits way.

Then the dry down goes a little bit more floral, and I agree with Missk that it smells like washing powder mix with black currant juice, however, I find myself actually like the softness and cleaness a lot. (Even though I hate synthetic scents, but I guess different person has her/his own version of hated-synthetic stuff)

Overall, I find this scent nice, and wearable, yes, it's more like a Floral Fruity, or maybe Floral Fruity Musk, rather than a gourmand.

This is a very youthful, sweet liqour smelling type perfume.
L&L is mostly spiced fruits, nectarine & plum sitting in something kind of boozy , sake for sure -
Kind soft & unoffensive , just like the demure but cool geisha gracing the bottle.
This does have a definate cedar-ish base;works well with the fruits in this.

Does'nt last long on my skin , not a strong perfume at all, maybe a non-scented lotion will help this stick around a little more on me..
I love the cartridge style box & bottle because of the tattoo design of the pop art style geisha - very cute & cool.

I'm with lollipopsneeze on this one, I too don't think this should be categorised as a floral fruity gourmand. It's more of a fruity floral in my opinion.

Unfortunately I just can't seem to warm to this scent, it's a little too synthetic for my liking. It smells a little like laundry detergent mixed with blackcurrant juice.

I kind of wish that this fragrance would smell like the notes listed, I was so hoping to smell a peppery floral with rich, fruity undertones. Instead Love & Luck is a tropical, sunscreen-ish and slightly soapy mess.

Another disappointment was the absence of the pink pepper and patchouli notes. Either they weren't added or they were made so subtle that they could hardly be detected. These notes, if stronger, would have given this scent more character and boldness.

The staying power isn't very good which only adds to my disappointment. I much preferred the first Ed Hardy fragrance.

I love this...however, I was very shocked to read the notes - it doesn't smell anything like this to me...or on me anyway.

I get a very strong green, almost masculine, scent at first and then it fades into a softer, but still green smell. I do get some woodiness, but I would never consider it a "floral fruity gourmand"

I still love, LOVE this scent regardless of what the notes are supposed to be and what they smell like on me - whatever they are, they work :)

This will be at top of my "next to buy" list for sure :)

Ed Hardy for Women was just a little too sweet for me, and the notes in this one sounded PERFECT. I was very surprised to find that this didn't smell ANYTHING like it's described. It was very green on me, and very light, almost like it wasn't even there at all. I didn't get any citrus, or fruit, or spices. Just green, like leaves, and a little aquatic. Very strange... not horrible, but definitely not for me.

I have sampled Love & Luck a few times now with the feeling that I would probably purchase it. What I love the most about it is that on me, it's almost a masculine scent. The spice, bergamot & patchouli really stand out for me, and I love that. Unlike some other reviewers, I find the sillage is great. But, by the end of the day I'm annoyed by the lingering scent. I dunno?! I guess there is something missing here that makes it wearable for me.

With all the reviews I have done since I am a member of Fragrantica, I am amazed I haven't done one for Love and Luck yet.

First, this fragrance had put me back on the track of loving perfumes. Love and Luck is my 2009 discovery and winner.

As soon as I saw the bottle and name, I wish with all my heart to fall in love with it! And I did.

The funniest thing is now that I am seeing the notes, I am wondering how come this perfume is so soft and mellow on me! I do smell jasmine rice everytime I am inhaling from my wrist.

It's the perfect perfume for springtime and everyday summertime wear for the office (I know since we have a scent-free environment policy at mine... :-().

Who is Ed Harvy?
As I am handed a sample of his perfume 'Love & Luck'by a fragrance representative I am told it's his 2nd womens' fragrance and there is one for males. Do I like it? Yes! I think?
It's a curious blend of fruits and spices. It would fall in the range of a 'fruity gourmand'At first test it's the citrus of bergmot & blood orange. As I look up at the 'rep' with his 'you are just going to love it' look on his face ,I turn the bottle towards me. It's a cylinder glass with a cream background. On it is a tattoo of a geisha in black and red.He lifts the cream cylinder to reveal a plain glass bottle inside as if the outer is a piece of ink art wrapped around this fragrance.
Now I am beginning to get the scent of blackcurrents, red berries and pink peppercorn. It's like a summer pudding with sugar & spice! The softness to this is accentuated by the musk, sandalwood, cedar and patchouli in the basenote.Very intriguing? I look at the rep and he now has the 'I told you, you would love this!' look plastered on his face.
But who is 'Ed Harvey'? Is he a tattoist, bohemian artist in the Soho area of New York? Is he a designer of street fashion or club wear. I imagine an artist with a passion for ink and scent.
NO Ed Harvey is not a 'who' but a 'what'. He is a brand name/trade mark for Christian Audigier. Christian created this brand after obtaining the exclusive writes to Ed Harvey's designs, who is the 'Godfather' of tattoo.
Christian Audigier, a french entrepeneur, nightclub owner, fashion creator and trend setter to the stars was known as the 'King of Jeans'and the creative force behind 'Von Dutch'.
Signature caps, skateboards jewellery etc..are amongst some of his contribution to street fashion. His following in LA is enourmous with celebrities, athletes and musicians immersing themselves in his products. His products have become part of the lifestyle to stars such as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Kenye West, to name just a few.He can do no wrong.
Christian Audigier has captured the essence of 'generation Y' in this fragrance.
Creative,wild,free and youthful.
