This “cocktail of pleasure” (C`est La Fete) was designed by Jean Jacques from the perfume company Takasago for Christian Lacroix. The top notes are made of juicy pear, passion fruit, apricot and black currant. The floral heart has the notes of jasmine, rose and orchid. Vanilla, sandalwood and musky notes are in the base. The fragrance was created in 2007.

Passion fruit galore! This one is strange on me. People compliment me all the time on this one and I can hardly smell anything except passion fruit and a tiny bit of musk. It starts out beautifully fresh and summery, and then I can't smell it anymore. It must have staying power as I receive LOTS of compliments. Weird, but I'll stick with it and see what happens...
Reminds me of a fruitier schampoo, or one of the Date perfumes that some of the older girls had in the middle of the 90´s. Smells good, but it´s a scent im tired of because of that
Got this cuz someone else doesn't want it. Really cute bottle, took me some time to figure out it's the shape of a heart. Scent smells familiar. It's the kind of scent I like, but not wearable by me. Boozy is a spot on description, as noted by a previous comment.
Like my favourite nose Jacques Cavallier has his signature, I think you can tell this other Jacques' signature in this scent.
It has some of the aspects as Jean Jacque's other creations like Balmain - Balmya or Torrente - L'Or de Torrente. Some underlying herbal/citrus thing which undercurrently contrapoints sweet and frutiy aspects.
In this fragrance I experience the tagetes (which I find somewhat spicy) and some slightly sour fruits to balance reaaaalllly tart and sweet fruits. Then there is rose and jasmine + VANILLA.
It has a vibe that I can just describe as booozy - though there is no alcoholic note. But I understand and deeply admire the work towards accomplishing the perfume's name: “cocktail of pleasure”.
I don't know if I will be often in the mood for this creation, but as far as fruity-florals go I find this really advanced and skillful. Again: Compliments for the bottle designer. In general I quite like the flakons of Lacroix's line!
Ps: I have a huge bottle so I can make decants of it! If interested in a swap/trade please contact me :)
I received this as a gift yesterday. It includes all the fruity notes that I love. It´s delicious and light. It could be wearable during the day in summertime.
I'm on a passionfruit high today, thanx to this baby. Bought myself a miniature coz I loved the bottle but when I smelled the potion I was just inlove. One sniff & i get an image of the Rio carnival. Thats the kind of energy the fume vibrates. Intersting how the top fruity notes blend in with the middle ones. Happy to say it's going to be a keeper. Cocktail of pleasures the name is fitting. Thumbs up!
Love the shape of the bottle, love the smell it's absolutely divine. It has a sweet fruity floral smell. It's very sweet but as Baiba commented not overpowering.I love the packaging,it's so bright and cheery looking and the perfume inside is absolutely gorgeous,a winner for me.mmmm delicious. My first time trying this fragrance.Love it.X
I love the shape of bottle ))) Bought it firstly because of that.
The scent itself is a sparkling fruity juice at first 10 minutes, then comes a pleasant sweet and a little fruity middle and base. I cannot call this something outstanding, but it is a joy and cheerful fragrance that can raise up your mood and reminds you of summer in the cold winter days.
Try it on your down jacket and you will be surprised!
I thought it is a summer time only fragrance, but then a miracle happen as i sparyed it onto my down jacket during some chilly autumn day! It also lasts much longer on that material than on my skin or my hair.
Stocking this up, because it seems that this one is going out!!
Fresh and fruity it is a relly happy fragrance for me.
Nearly bought this yesterday as it was on sale, just because the bottle looked so pretty. luckily I tried it on first and decided to thing about it. it was really sickly on me and had to wash it off when I got home. can't smell any of the ingrediences mentioned above, just a cloying mess.
On me it smells like fruity powder. Most of all I feel pear, passion fruit, orchid and vanilla. Luckily it is not too sweet and doesn't smell like candy. More light than strong, long-lasting. But I like the bottle more than the fragrance, because the fragrance is too powdery for me.
I think the bottle is the only thing that worth it. To me the fragance smells very synthetic.
i bought it from a discount site, i did not smell the scent before ordering. i think it is an old fashioned bubble gum scent:( i can't believe it's launched in 2007. disappointment it gave me headache:( i will give it maybe to my mum if she likes it:(
Sweet vanilla bouquet for pleasure for midi seasons, lasts long. I've never liked so sweet perfumes but this is an exception.
what a beautiful fresh burst at the beginning! the loveliness of the top notes make me swoon like no other! sadly, this soon fades, and c'est la fete is yet another light scent gone awry on my hard-to-please skin. :( perhaps it works better & lasts longer on those with better chemistry than me, for me, this turns out just like eclat d'arpege, stinky on my skin...
Nice fresh fragrance for summer, I use it in very hot days, but I never last more that 10 minute son my skin :(
It is lovely and reminds me of the early onset of a party where the medley of nice but different scents still mingle. That is why I like to use it as a room spray as well. It makes me feel happy.
Yes! At last! A floral fruity that lasts more than 10 minutes on my skin!
I love the cute bottle, I love the bright packaging, I love the name and I really love the way it was on special offer today!
Cest la Fete is indeed a celebratory little perfume - today I celebrated being the sweetest freshest commuter on a crowded tube train in sticky old London town!
I really like the passionfruit in this. Quite how it avoids smelling like a drink you take to Wimbledon, especially in combination with the apricot, is a real mystery. Perhaps it comes down to the tart, sharper edge of blackcurrant, and there's a lightness to it I expect must be the pear.
The hold isn't fantastic, but the midnotes linger a good while in pretty if generic flowery wafts - musk? sandalwood? vanilla? I can't detect those notes at all. When the fete's over all I can smell are soft green notes and flowers!
fruity, but certainly not as nice as Escade rockin Rio.
i smelled this one in a store and i liked it imediately. it's true that when you first spray it on it is a bit heavy but then it developes to a nice fruity sour smell. fit for summer wear for young women.
This is sweet, cloying and a real mess from the point of view of composition.
Artificial from head to toe, worked in such a deplorably bad way that it feels sticky and sweet. There are so many fruit-salad components in it that the feelings they arouse in me can only be negative. The base is vile nd adds to the genral feeling of hyper-artificiality characterising this composition.
I totally agree with Balba. It's a very beautiful scent, a little strong without being toxicating. I consider it a sweeter version of Dior Dune.
Lovely, sweet, fruity - flowery, somehow reminds me of some Escada fragrances - maybe because of the fruity notes. To my surprise quite long lasting, but not overpowering - a great deal! I'm so glad I choosed this fragrance!
