Amazing pefume, and suprisingly long lasting, especially for a toilette!! On my new quest to find and use only perfume not tested on animals, I was pleasantly suprised to find that 1 of my favorite scents is not tested on animals. Vanille Abricot is a warm but not heavy, fruity vanilla that is sweet but not too sweet where you feel like you're going to be tempted to raid the cupcake aisle of your local supermarket! This vanilla is also perfect to layer with heavier, more masculine vanilla scents, but I prefer to just wear it on it's own. It is warm, comforting delishiousness that makes me happy to just sniff it's presence! My fav vanilla with a fruity edge!
Well, well, well...CSP's Abricot Vanille was a quick but not cheap thrill...I bought a big bottle of this, spritzed it once, and gave it to my niece who absolutely loves vanilla...On my skin, this fragrance turned way too sweet...Ideal for vanilla lovers, but not for me...*sigh*...
Abricot Vanille is a yummy, scrumptious, releaistic version of a sweet dessert. The fruits are lost and overpowered by the creamy vanilla leaving an aroma of freshly baked goods. I smell something apart from the vanilla and sugar right at the start but I can't say it's either the apricot or the papaya. It smells a little bit tropical so I guess it is a mixture of those fruits.
However, the vanilla is what stand out the most. The fragrance lasts a good 6 hours on me and when I wore it to work a co-worker mentioned how much I smelled like cake! Definitely one for the gourmand lovers :)
Its like any vanilla sweet perfume..smell no abricots!!
just applied it on from a sample...and I'm getting SUGARY, sour, fruit...sickly sweet to my nose, I gotta wash it off.
This smells like apricot crumble on my skin; warm, delicious, and sweet without being "loud" or headache-inducing.
Delicious. I've been looking for a true apricot scent and in Vanille Abricot I've found it. rather than an interpretation, the apricot here is very much a resemblence of the real thing; a fresh tartness (the papaya perhaps?), and nectar sweet. The vanilla serves to enhance the sweetness, rounding out the gourmand quality and giving it that "cupcake" quality. And it smells so good! Yes it's not serious or sexy or particularly "mature," but who the heck cares? It's fun and it smells like something I'd want to nibble on.
Vanille Abricot smells like burnt sugar, boozy vanilla, and papaya on my skin. I'm not sure if this is a case of my chemistry not meshing with the scent, or if my decant from The Perfumed Court was an old bottle, but this seemed extremely synthetic and not at all like the fresh cake promised by reviewers below! My search for the perfect foody vanilla cake scent continues.
I used to have this scent, one of my all time favorites! Whenever I wore it, I would hear people say that it smelled like cookies, but they didn't know it was me. I don't like strong smelling scents, they give me headaches. This one is so delicious and soft, not overpowering.
Beautiful fragrance, yet quite linear. Papaya?! I can only detect a loud dose of creamy vanilla and cake! Not sure where the apricot is.. Still a gorgeous scent, I doubt anyone could actually dislike it. Long lasting on my skin (7+ hours), which is strange for an eau de toillete!
"Vanille abricot" may be aptly titled, and the smell is a pleasent one, but really, it rather suits fruit yoghurt than a person. You may use it in your kitchen to spread a pleasently sweet smell, but please don't ever use it on yourself. I just don't see the point in smelling like some dairy product from your local super market.
wow this one is really delicious. really creamy and fruity.like a good dessert. love it and will definitely re-buy it !! it makes me feel comfortable and i love the smell. lasting power is good. does not last all day but a few hours (i think about 6 h).
There are just so many things that I love about this perfume...I always forget just how good it is until I wear it again. It's one of the best CSP fragrances in my opinion.
Vanille Abricot is such a simple scent and fairly linear but that's part of its charm. It is what it is and it isn't shy about announcing it.
It's creamy and sumptuous...with sweet vanilla and apricot blending beautifully to create a gourmand treat that's wonderfully soft and feminine.
Despite its sweetness, it works remarkably well in the warm weather as well as in cool conditions.
It's only an eau de toilette but 2 sprays last for 5+ hours on me with moderate sillage.
Gourmand lovers, vanilla lovers and anyone who loves sweet yet soft scents should try this.
OMG, THIS IS HEAVEN!!!
I just got my bottle, I ordered it blind from Ebay and I'm so glad I did!!
Smells like delicious cupcakes...I thought it would be very strong smell, but it's really light, it's not nausetaing at all (I was worrying it might give me a headache).
It's better than I expected. SOOOO GOOD!! One of my faves!
As a big fan of gourmand scents, I knew I would like this one even before I tried it. I hate papaya, but the smell of it here is blended out by the vanilla and apricot, and gives them some dimension. Quite a simplistic little composition, but a nice one.
In my opinion this is one of the most delicious scents out there if you love sweet gourmand scents. It is a luscious sticky-sweet dessert of a scent. Think cake and orange creamsicles.
In comparison to other ultra-sweet perfumes, I think this one works better than most because it doesn't smell synthetic in the least. It really is like a succulent apricot-vanilla dessert!
Although I think of this as a summer fragrance in some ways, it would also work well for winter because of its sweetness. I would think on really hot days in the summer it could be a little too much.
If I am ever in the mood to smell like an edible treat, this is the perfume I wear. When I wear this I just want to sniff my wrist all day. It is peachy and sugary and vanilla. I just wish I could lick it off. This is daytime/Summer candy treat. Vanille Amande is my winter liqueur treat. Yummy...with a spoon!
I notice when I wear this people like standing really close to me.
Even though I have never been told
"hey you smell good"
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS :)
FOR TWO SECONDS YOU CAN SMELL APRICOT AND PAPAYA
then it drys down
AND YOUR LEFT WITH YOUR SKIN SMELLING LIKE FRUIT LOOPS :)
I was disappointed by this one. I had such high hopes for it after trying Vanille Extreme, but the vanille abricot has no staying power on me. This is one that Sud Pacifique should remake with a stronger concentrate.
I have a sample of Vanilla Apricot and I'm so happy with it! I ordered Vanilla Mohka from Lush Oasis because it was on sale, to my delight they shipped a freebie and samples with my order..This was one of them
So as for my review....like my BF said down there said, this one could be stronger, but it's so fun. CSP has the''peachy & beachy vibe'' down to perfection here..I wonder what note causes that? Is it the dark tropical vanilla bean they use? At any rate I like how easy these are on my nose, and totally dig smelling like fruit loops!
I have a scent "replica" from a handmade perfume artist online.
This is really pretty to me. There is a candied apricot breeze floating in the air around me. The vanilla smell shows, and it blends so lovely with the candy apricot.
The gorgeous candy "breeze" smell lasts and floats around for a good 5 or 6 hours for me.
I do not go by scent seasons, meaning I wear the perfume I desire, even if we are in winter, and this one is a "summer scent". I have to say though, for others who like to go by seasons, this perfume seems soft enough for a hot summer's day,and could create a lovely candy wind to float on the cold winter air too.
Une grande réussite et un bel équilibre entre la vanille et l'abricot. Une tenue excellente. Et addictif comme tous les parfums comptoir sud pacifique!
When I first spray it on I get a burst of sharp apricot, which then warms into sugary vanilla. I wear this when I want a little comfort or on a cold, rainy day...a just-for-me scent and whoever wants to come into my inner circle.
Mmmmmm... This is one of the yummiest vanillas I've ever worn. The apricot adds a nice top sweet note to the warm vanilla. The vanilla isn't smoky at all and not particularly heavy, which is nice. I get compliments whenever I wear it, and it makes me feel cozy and comfy. Definitely not for the faint of heart in things syrupy and sweet, though it isn't cloying or artificial or plasticky-smelling, which I find many vanillas to be. Love the bottle, though some complain that it isn't "pretty enough," I travel all of the time and practicality of durability takes precedence over fragile schnick-schnack any day. My only complaint (like many others) is the weakness of staying power. Silage on this isn't great on skin (better, strangely enough, on clothes) and I soooo wish it would be!
Love it but I am a lover of all things Vanilla and this is no exception. Its no Mitsouko but its not out to be. A fun , flirty aroma.
The initial notes are a beautiful balance between vanilla, fruit, and sweetness. However, the fruit smell dissipates quickly leaving a echoing sweetness, that begins to build onto itself, getting louder and louder, until, even under a winter jacket you can smell the sweetness emanating from your arm. Slowly a vanilla begins to join it and the smell has faded slightly, but the scent is still disturbing to your everyday activities.
This is gorgeous. It's one of the best vanillas I have ever smelt and I can see why its so popular. The apricot and vanilla are a perfect combination. Its sweet but also sexy
This is the perfect vanilla! I tried the vanilla peache and wanted to be sick. But this...it develops from this fruity sweet to a spicy sweet vanilla. Its almost a skin scent and very comforting. I purchased the lotion after buying the spray..i wanted it to last longer. Im very happy with both and believe i will buy it again once gone. Many vanillas can be nauseating with sweetness, this one is just right!
Starts out really tart-tangy and sweet - I immediately thought "Starburst!" although of the tropical variety. I agree with Cherub, it's extremely foody-candy smelling and overpowering first on. I like scents to be long-lasting, but was really glad when this one faded into a sweet vanilla with a bit of tangy fruit after about 30 min. At that point, it was nice, and if you go for candy-fruity frags, this is a good pick - ut's not too synthetic, which foody smells can be. But the real potency of it really only lasted a couple of hours in the am, and was totally gone by the afternoon, making it a little pricey for its staying power. It's a little generic-smelling - I wonder why it has so much popularity?
It's sweet and I love it. Love the vanilla and strong apricot smell. Wouldn't change it for the world. But yet there is a part of me that thinks it smells like car air freshener.
Being such a favourite of many celebrities including, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Jessica Simpson, the late Brittany Murphy, Ashlee Simpson, Fergie and Nicole Kidman, I felt it was a need to order a sample of this fragrance to see what all the fuss was about.
Vanille Abricot is sweet and vanillary. What you would most likely expect. If you adore the scent of apricots, sweet and juicy on the skin, Vanille Abricot is for you. Unfortunately, despite the fact that I understand all the hype surrounding this particular fragrance, apricot is a note that I find far too sickeningly sweet, even when combined into cooking. The thought of apricot chicken makes me cringe.
There is something very feminine and pretty about this fragrance, however I wouldn't call this sexy, unless a girl in pig-tails, eating an icecream is your definition of sexy.
The scent is very strong, so I'd recommend applying it sparingly or walking through the mist. I made the mistake of applying too liberally when I first received the sample, and almost gagging for the rest of the day.
I agree with the 'walking bakery' references, it does have a very gourmand feel, however to me Vanille Abricot smells more like vanilla icecream balls on freshly sliced apricot.
Hollywood must be very much influenced by sweeter scents, hence the reason why celebrities themselves release such sweet scents. I'm surprised that Comptoir Sud Pacifique hasn't managed to hit my shores in Australia yet. It's such a popular brand all over the world.
Wow. I completely adore this, beautifully blended apricot and vanilla with a slight tang of papaya. Not at all sickly sweet or overpowering. Soft, creamy and delicious... I seriously can't tear my nose away from my wrists! Plus it has lasting power - perfection =)
Dear God, as yummy as is a newborn baby is cute
When it really comes down to it...I love all scent, really (for the most part), but I always come home to vanilla. It is just so warm and comforting, calming. And yes, men do seem to love it. I always get compliments when wearing it and I notice I compliment others who are wearing a vanilla-based scent. Among other things, I am a baker at heart... even though it is not my profession. I can not resist the sweet warmth of vanilla. I love all of these yummies, bu this one is my fav. Well, this one and the Vanille Banana. Oh. Yum. Creamy-dreamy HEAVEN in a bottle. Love.
This smells EXACTLY like a sex on the beach drink to me.
i LIKE THIS. tHE FIRST TIME i WORE THIS MY BF ASKED ME WHAT SMELT LIKE CUPCAKES. hE SAID I SMELT SWEET LIKE A BAKERY. i LIKE THE IDEA OF SMELLING LIKE CUPCAKES IT MAKES ME SMELL SWEET. tHIS SCENT LASTED ALL DAY AND IT JUST MAKE ME FEEL SO COZY. i ONLY WISH IT WEREN'T SO EXPENSIVE AND THE BOTTLE COULD BE A LITTLE CUTER. oVERALL THIS IS A LOVELY VANILLA FRAGRANCE
This was one of my first perfumes! I will admit I have bought more over the years. It smells really good on my skin!!!
I can't handle the pure sugary sweetness of this! I get the apricot, but not in the way I would like to, this is more like "Vanilla Canned Apricots in sugary syrup". Another strike out for CSP :(
Top and heart note: Jackfruit, Apricot, Papaya.
Base note: Sugar candy, Vanilla.
Ordered 4 unsniffed 3rd one to review..
Vanilla is the dominate note in all 3 so far. I'm in love with all of these Comptoirs as im a HUGE vanilla lover. While Extreme is like sugar coated vanilla and Passion is like pure vanilla bean this one is like candied fruits with lots of sugar sweetness and creamy vanilla. Just when I think I can't smell it on me anymore it comes back. They could stand to be stronger in my opinion. An EDP would be nice! Also all 3 have similarities in smell with slight variations. So far Extreme is my fav as it is the best version of my idea of vanilla so far! I can't get enough of these!
I love the way it smells after drying down and fading a bit. I always get told I smell like chocolate, not cotton candy, but maybe it's a chemistry thing. I do agree that it's a bit cloying and strong at first. In fact, when I spray it, I have to hold my breath for about ten seconds, otherwise it literally stings my nose! I love the way my clothing smell after I've worn the perfume in them though.
I just have to add this because i just realized what the smell of this perfume reminds me of:
funnel cakes at Canada's Wonderland
ah, such a letdown! i have to agree with takemyhusband - like coco pebbles or fruit loops...no apricot for me, absolute sheer sweetness. thats okay if that is what you want, but please, call it vanilla sugarpaste...that is what it smells like! it reminds me of candystores it is that sweet!
This scent is truly eadible!
To start with,I can feel the fresh apricot together with the vanilla but after a while it gets more plain vanilla. The lasting power is very good. When I wear this, I allways get comments from people. Quite often, they think that there are danish pastries nearby, the vanilla scent is very present! For anyone who likes vanilla, this is great. I just love it!
Vanille Abricot it's like an abricot dessert being cooked! Explosion of vanille notes, makes this fragrance a delicious gourmand. People wanted to eat me LOL. It's a long lasting scent.
This one is probably nice (heh), but I can't smell it at all. When I put it on more, now with very heavy hand, I did get couple of sekonds faint smell of sweet abricots and that's it. Nothing more.
After while my husband sniff the air hopingly and asks did I bake something :)! So the problem is only in my nose.
Whereas, I absolutely LOVE CSP's Vanille Peache, this Abricot version doesn't mesh with my chemistry. It smells to me like fruity or cocoa pebbles after it sits in milk for awhile. It starts that way and stays that way, very linear, never changing in the least. On my skin no abricot comes through at all. It doesn't last for very long at all either on my skin. Most CSPs that I've tried last at least 6 hours, this is gone in less than 30 minutes.
