I remember sneaking in my brothers room to catch a few sprays before school. He loved the stuff and our summers and winters were filled with Aspen. Fast forward to present and I am highly disappointed. I remember Aspen being alot stronger than it is today. My brother used to spray on in the morning and by the afternoon you could still smell it. I am assuming it's due to reformulation. Its still a very good scent it just does not warrant me to have a bottle due to short longevity and average projection.

This was one of my signature scents back in middle school. I was a skater chick then with half of my head shaved and I poo-pooed anything "girly".

Aspen smelled like an exciting forest full of dark upright fir trees and foggy breath in the winter air.

It smells very fresh with a great pine/cedar opening, toning down to a subtle, yet very noticable oakmoss green scent. Over all, it is a cologne that I keep in the car for times I need a refresher.

LOL @people saying things like "it is laughable that a $5 bottle of this is being compared to a $250 bottle of GIT.."

It sure is- laughable that you are such a consumer that you equate price with quality. Go ahead and buy your GIT, this stuff smells better than that, or Tsar. Yeah it doesnt last long but at $5 a bottle spray away lol.

This is the best sent that ever came out of the 80's. I used Aspen all through high school and still to this day I will spray some on every now and then. The smell immediately takes me back to my teenage years. You can find a 4oz. Bottle for around 10 buck's. Aspen is perfect for high school kids, its cheap, smells great, and won't make you sick if its over spread. And not to mention the laddies love it.

My husband used to wear this as his winter perfume. I recall it smelling nice and clean, soapy and outdoorsy, and not overbearing like some other drug-store colognes. He's switched to using Curve year-round, and I sometimes miss the pine tree smell of this one.

Very underrated at this price point. Smells nice, gets some compliments. Sometimes you can find a gift set with two large spray bottles for $15 USD. Not a everyday, but nice nonetheless. Smells alot like Green Irish Tweed

Finally! Aspen for Men has arrived to Fragranitica! One of the perfume industry's best kept sleepers in my opinion. A minty Cool Water that wears nice in winter, fall and early spring. I get more complements on this one, then many of the more expensive designer scents that I own. My #1 pick from the "bang for your buck" category.

I am a woman and I have to say that I love wearing this stuff! It is just purely piney-clean, which is something that I adore! I usually put this on after a shower or before going to bed, it's quite comforting.

I love Love Love this for men.
I'm not sure if its because it takes me back to really happy times or if its the ingredience or both but this is so nice on a man.
I bought my sons some very cheap at the drug store and thought WTH and bought myself some too.
Its a nice one for an out doorsy Nature lover type of man.
I think the name suits it well.
Its not expensive but it smells just as nice as some of the high end brands IMO
I would recommend this one for sure :)

Had a splash bottle of this when it first came out - such fond memories. It smelled so very different from any other drug-store scent available at the time (I hadn't experienced Cool Water yet) and was unlike most of the designer scents that my peers were wearing (Drakkar, Polo, Obsession), etc.). Everything else was just bottled musk, barbershop, sport or spice - this one smelled surprisingly natural and gave an exhilarating impression of the outdoors - very much like its name.

Haven't smelled it since the 80's - wonder how much it has changed, if at all? Sounds like it might have suffered some cheapening - to be expected, I suppose.

Still - you could do a lot worse than this - suits active, outdoorsy types perfectly.

Aspen is arguably the best formula Coty ever bought from a small brand, as this perfume was originally by Quintessence. It's basically Cool Water with wintergreen and pine sap in the top notes, instead of Davidoff's lavender-apple accord. As it dries down, the sharpness of the mint and pine softens into a sweet amber, with hints of moss and herbs keeping things nice and green. In its heart stage, Aspen begins to resemble Green Irish Tweed a bit more than Cool Water. Three hours after application the budget shows through, and it becomes a bit of a "fuzzy" fragrance with poor note separation and almost no discernible structure beyond cool muskiness. However, I'm not denigrating it. Aspen smells amazing for being $15 a pop. Very likely the only masculine fresh aromatic fougere for under twenty dollars that smells convincingly sophisticated and well-made. If you don't want to spend any more for fragrance, but still want to smell good, this is pretty much made for you, and kudos for having the good taste to wear it.

Finally!

Here it is for all you Aspen fans. I was beginning to think that this was the only fragrance Fragrantica had forgotten.
I vaguely remember having a 1/2oz splash bottle of this sometime during high school; I remember thinking myself 'wow, this will put some hair on my chest'...but what did I know back then...
I also recently had the pleasure of finding a 4oz bottle at a discount fragrance store on a road trip for just $20 bucks. Despite it's "drugstore fragrance" label some will put on this, it's becoming increasingly harder to find at drugstores.

To me, Aspen is very similar to cool water, but instead of an emphasis on the "cool water" it more on the "piney mountaintops", if you will.
But beware, Aspen is a closet powerhouse.
Botttom line: if you're looking for an cheap, green, masculine fragrance with amazing longevity, look no further.

An excellent bang for the buck, Aspen comes off as Cool Water's more outdoorsy brother, 7 o'clock shadow, flannel shirt and all. Probably the best thing you could find in the drug store. Synthetic up close, but quite green and fresh from afar. For what it is, I'd give it an easy 4 stars. Great for the farmers' market and those kind of mornings.
