One of the best perfume i had even though just a decant..
my friend gave me his Z01 version and you know what this is what i want all this time, if i ran out of this maybe I'm just gonna buy the R01 version that's a lot easier to find..

finally have this in my collection.

scent: smelled like smthing citrusy at the begining and turn into something like smoky fruit n some bitter scent. hard to explain. nice smell.but i think doesnt mean it is the best scent in the world.

performance: sillage is very good on my skin. people can smell it around 6 ft from me.but it last for 1-1.5 hours only.the rest u need people to stand very close to u. i used 3 sprays only.
after 12 hours, i still can smell it on my skin.
im live in tropical country. its hard to find a fragrance that give performance such as this.

however...the price is sooo expensive.
i will use it for special event only.not for everyday.

i still believe that this is not best scent in d world.

I believed when I read that Insurrection II Pure smelt the same as Aventus so my theory was to buy Insurrection II, see if I love it and if I did, Id then invest in Aventus.
I ended up buying two bottles of Insurrection II and hating it, I thought it was a very average smell and I told myself that if this is anything like Aventus then I hate them both. So Aventus was removed from my want shelf and I marked them both as 'not like'.
I rehomed the Insurrection II and forgot all about Aventus.
But then months later a friend offered me a decant swap, he sent me Aventus!
OMG Aventus is so so lovely.

the fact that sooo many people refer to good performance on "clothes" says it all.

I don,t buy a fragrance to spray my clothes, the stuff has to perform on skin so i can experience the evolution of the scent and aventus fails that ALOT, especially with their late batches.

A superfruity 30 minute scent. Talk about spraying water. No nosefatigue! tested it on many friends and family. All the same result on each single one of them.

I think the house of Creed is much overrated and their customers care is almost nonexistent when i tried alongside with many others to mention this issue. No comment on that one, never.
Once you bought it, you bought it. Case closed!

Their ultrastiff, stubborn attitude and their ridiculous "Pride" which seems like something they will never forsake, makes me turn my head from this house

Yes, this is expensive, but let's leave price aside. After all, money is not everything in this world and you can always get a small tester of this and use this for special occasions, if you are really pressed for money.

I like this smell a lot. In a world of citrusy chemical smells, this one sends a rather unapologetic masculine message: I'm a man, deal with it. The manliness comes from the smoky notes mixed with the pineapple, but it is the smokey edge that is remembered. Great scent that has a fruity opening with a very smoky and masculine finish. It's very expensive, which is obviously a downside and not everyone will find this appealing considering the price. It's definitely worth a try and to get some vial samples to see if it works. It is very powerful, so be careful not to spray too much.

I like it, but I don't love it. You've got to be careful with this scent as it's very easy to overdo it. People seem to like it on me, but I find the pineapple slightly too sickly and the silage too much. Definitely one to use in small volumes. It's a good clubbing scent though.

Alright. Am a huge fan of Creed fragrances. Yes they're super expensive. But they smell great. And last for days on my clothes.

Look around, you can find authentic Creed Fragrances at less than full retail price if you're a bit strapped for cash.

In my city there are a lot of local shops where you can buy most of the perfumes for nothing; they sell perfumes 'essences'; that they have essence oil for Aventus..you go there, standing for your perfume to be diluted and filled in your bottle..and then here your Aventus..!!!

I like that and like the idea that I would only pay about 10USD for a 50ml of 'fresh cut' Aventus..LOL

Besides I came across some of Aventus clones and know that they maybe a good reasonable alternative for who can not afford paying all that for Aventus, -and I am one of those- ..still at the end of the day Aventus is a perfume.

I am not obsessed in brands, and know how much someone would pay when baying a branded item just for the name in spite of the quality or the real cost of that item..but believe me Aventus is another story..it is not only about the smell itself..which is indeed a good smell, but also about the quality and performance..I have never owned Aventus,I wish I can buy it once, I worked in a place where the boss's presence was declared from his great Aventus, it was like an early alarm..once he rushed into our floor that great smell -which at that time was still unknown for me- fills the whole space..and leaves a profound trail behind him
Aventus is not just it smells great,but it does that in a great and classy way..It is all about QUALITY.

The Point is...

After two negative reviews That I have written throughout the last two years and I have included below, I believe that I haven't given Aventus its due, there are many great alternatives with a much less price tag for sure, but the thing is they either don't last or project like Aventus or aren't as unique. The market is exhausted by citrusy, herbal or aquatic ones, and no one( of my limited experience with perfumes) has done pineapple-wood combo with this quality that is also really manly. nobody has done a top-notch perfume for summer that young and old can wear, without any feeling ( on the part of the person who smells them) of discrepancy between the wearer and the perfume.

This is too simple and straight forward and is designed for " I'm so cool with everything" guys, I want a complicated and dividing perfume that is targeted to the aesthetes

Don't Believe the Hype and check it yourself Type:This has an awful value for the money. There are much better alternatives with a fraction of the price.(in my case, I can buy at least 3 bottles of Hermes Tres Fraiche and live happily ever after)

Generally, I am not about the brands. If something smells good, no matter the manufacturer, I will happily enjoy it.

Aventus I came upon in the States recently while traveling and I was first struck by it because it reminded me of Bleeker Street by Bond No 9 - only better, and more value for money! Bleeker is excellent too, but Aventus... god. I am considering buying it and making it my signature.

It has a fresh quality to it but is incredibly classic, intelligent, and sharp - not in smell, but like a well put together outfit. It is the kind of scent that only adds to your wardrobe and personality and if it calls to you, then enjoy it. I made my best friend smell it and she was freaking out too. It's just incredible! As a woman who has no problem wearing male fragrances if I like them, out of all of them, I think this is one a female could get away with the most. Or maybe it just suits my skin... but again.. if you really respond to it, it probably works with you too.


I imagine hugging someone hello wearing this, and delighting them. It's just so striking and beautiful and multi-faceted. Probably one of the best fragrances ever made that will go down as a cult classic.

Great projection (2-3 metres), lasts 7-12 hours on skin. Basic notes: woody pineapple. Overpriced, but very good quality. Smells rich and soft. Women like it. Buy now, the price is correct, like 200 bucks for 100 ml.

Hate the fruity perfumy opening. Love the 1970s Camaro leather seats, cigarettes in the ashtray with a pine airfreshner vibe in the dry down. Reminds me of my youth and has a macho vibe. In the very base of the fragrance there is a beautiful sea vibe (ambergris) that reminds me of the beach. Great fragrance and is a modern version of fahrenheit. Different scent similar vibe. Kind of like how cool water and nautica voyage smell different but are the same song and dance. 9 out of ten. 9 only because of the bs black currant(prune juice) opening.

It is not too much of a surprise that 'Aventus' is a bold, rich fragrance which is both complex and enduring, not unlike the life of its inspiring emperor. Utilizing exceptional ingredients from around the world which bear significance within the life of Napoleon, Olivier and his son have created the most popular fragrance ever developed within the history of CREED. The composition opens with a mouth watering amalgam of luscious fruits. Corsican blackcurrent, Italian bergamot, French Calville Blanc apples, and royal pineapple comprise the top notes. One notices a bouquet of fruits upon initially spraying 'Aventus', marked by the pineapple's biting citrus and sweet facets. Blackcurrent imparts a wine-like quality to the fragrance as if smelling a freshly uncorked bottle of Merlot. The historic French Calville Blanc apples' scent is tart yet sweet with a banana-like aroma, deliciously melding with the rest of the fruit filled opening.

This is a very special scent. I immediately smell the pineapple on first spray, and the scent progresses into what I would describe as a fresh out the shower dynamic beast. I also seem to pick up hints of mint infused within the citrus note, bit mint is not in the notes. The base certainly is heavy in musk and vanilla. This fragrance encases you and creates a cloud of deliciousness throughout the day. I have dry skin so longevity is typically an issue for me, but not with this guy. Aventus lasts from morning to night, with just 3 sprays - but if it is clubbing setting you might squirt 5(max). I also found that my bottle evolved over time and that the potency seemed to increase after a few months of opening it! Anyone else have that?

In terms of it's wild compliment getting reputation. When I first sprayed (or should I say, over sprayed) this on, a female colleague was like "What is that smell??? Its a cologne someone is wearing?" She proceeded to really freak out over this one, in a good way. To date I have received one other compliment on this, in the evening approximately 10 hours after spraying - a testament for how long this thing can last! My girlfriend however told me I smelled like a hairy man? So in someways I guess it depends on the audience and whether this really matches your personality, and I would categorize this fragrance as distinctly masculine. Though I am an androgynous female that enjoys masculine scents, I dont think Aventus really matches my character, and thus will never be my signature scent. I do however enjoy it and love to wear it in casual settings on sunny days perhaps at the beach sort of vibe for me.

It is not a linear scent either, it evolves while maintaining its character, if you have a nose for it you will know what it is from start to finish. I would recommend this one for a playful and perhaps younger (below 35) sporty sort of guy with a great deal of confidence. I don't know if it would really work well in parallel with other (more brooding or serious?) types. I can see why this is a hit amongst basketball players.

Longevity: 10/10 (I can still smell the musky vanilla base after my shirt has been through the laundry)
Sillage: 9/10 This definitely creates a trail
Scent: 10/10 quite unique and special
Versatility: 6.5/10 can easily be signature but only for the right personality, i see this as more casual than work, and more summer than winter vibe

In terms of cost - Lets just say, if this works for you and could constitute as a signature, it is definitely worth the price tag. I blind bought this, and while I can't say it is exactly right for me, I don't regret it, and probably would have still purchased either way as it is one of the most pleasing scents my nose has encountered. I really wish this matched my style a little bit more!

I'm a vintage M7 addict i need to try this aventus. See what the hype is about. And lol i ain't no doctor just a fragrance lover. Also the bottle for such a fragrance looks kind of lame . What's with the fat horse and rider looks like a tacky drawing.

You,re totally wrong. The batches do differ pretty clear. Some are more smoky and some are really really fruity. I have both and on my 3rd now. And hey, i,m not a doctor but just an average joe and still i traveled the world.
My point, you really don,t have to be the elite to get aventus. Even a poor man will find a way to get it if it is his passion. The whole fragrance commune knows aventus. I love fragrances but i dislike selfdeclared fancy peeps

I care to disagree with the former review, as much as I agree batches do differ a bit, overall the pineapple/smoke combination is pretty much the same from bottle to bottle, and my husband has owned four so far.
Is there a hype around Aventus? Not sure, I think as it is so expensive and prestigious it gets put down a lot by people who cannot afford it.
It is my husband' s favorite scent, there isn't one quite like it, so the price in my views is justified, and again, if it is too expensive for you, there are plenty of nice masculine scents out there!! My husband is a doctor, a man well traveled and stylish, he has worn many good scents, yet none like Aventus!!

A slightly smoky pineapple/fruity musk with some herbs and florals thrown in to boot. Overall, a very likable fragrance.

But Aventus is fraught with some serious problems.

1) Batch variation. I have just one sample vial in my possession, but I've sampled Aventus on occasion from fragrance boutiques and have experienced some variances (mostly how the smokiness or pineapple can be strong or weak). While I like the balance of my sample, I do not feel comfortable risking a full bottle that will smell differently.

2) Cost. There does NOT appear to be anything in the composition of this fragrance that justifies the high price over other CREED offerings. The only rare/scarce ingredient would be ambergris, but it is not authentic (it's actually synthetic). IMHO, the only reason why CREED has priced it so high is a careful attenuation based on demand. They're getting enough revenue to satisfy their profit margins, while still maintaining a high cachet level that drives continued admiring and attraction to the brand.

Do I like Aventus? Yes... as I understand it from the version I received. But it appears to be a crap shoot as to what it will smell like next time.

Would I buy Aventus? Hell no! This is not what I'd call wise spending of money. I'd much rather purchase other fragrances of similar character that cost significantly less... or just go for a vintage legend (you can easily do so at this price).

Would I accept it as a gift? Depending on the circumstances, probably yes. But if it's from someone who will never see my fragrance collection, I'll sell it to fund something else.

Lastly... I find the hype train around Aventus to be a negative asset. If I loved it enough to own a bottle, I'd feel a little bit like someone who crossed the picket line. Sorry CREED, I think your overpriced tactics will eventually backfire on you...

This fragrance is about the hype and anti hype. The bottom line is the fragrance got hyped up for a reason. Yes, perhaps any fragrance with this much hype is over hyped.. No matter what fragrance it is.. But it is a very nice appealing smell that is addictive. A smokey pineapple scent that sticks in your nose and gets you hooked. I get the appeal of this fragrance. I personally really like it and could wear it as a signature scent. My main problem with aventus is the price. I don't believe a fragrance is worth 300 dollars.. and the only way I get my aventus fix is by buying and selling splits/decants. I won't pay retail for a bottle. Out of the creeds I have tried, aventus is my favorite thus far.

So .. where to start?

Maybe I should start my review pointing out that I was yet another tool buying into the hype of Aventus. Capital mistake right there but at least Aventus made me aware to take a lot of hyped up reviews with a grain of salt. Lesson learned, let's stay positive and move along.

I do like Aventus, it's a nice and very acceptable fragrance with some unique touches that distinguish it from the other stuff in my collection. It's versatile and fresh and you can almost say it's one of the best fragrances to start with when exploring niche. Why? Because it's one of the least pretentious offerings in the niche and is a very close neighbor of what designers try to do (mostly) : offer something that appeals to most.

What do I mean with least pretentious? No weird notes, no fecal stuff, no musk bombs, no alcohols extracts, no vague herbs for your 250$ but just a good composition of something that will make you smell nice and modern. It's safe with a tiny edge and fits everyone that is nicely dressed.

However, some items need to be taken into consideration for my personal review :

a) This does not drop panties auto-magically, in fact this is one of my LEAST complimented fragrances ever. I still get the panty droppin' going but I'm pretty sure Aventus has absolutely nothing to do with ;)

b) Longevity is one of the weirdest things on this fragrance. You can simply not trust it. One day it will last forever, the other it will last for a few hours tops. Nose fatigue or other strange forces at hand? I don't know but it's not a trustworthy companion making it a doubtful signature choice. Actually, the same is true for projection.

c) Batch issues, if true, really make me doubt in buying this fragrance again. Especially when you keep the price in the back of your mind.

d) Creed -opposed to this fragrance- is a very pretentious company with stupid stories that market the shit out of their products. All allowed but I feel like a tool for buying into the hype but I also feel like a tool whenever a company sells me bullshit stories about their legacy to gimmick their products. It makes me want to throw away the product out of shame.


So.......
I'm glad I have it and I will definitely use it again in the summer but I'm not left in a pool of mouthwatering saliva when smelling it, nor are the ladies so far.

My Aventus experience (for those considering it) : when I first tried it (blind buy but had read about it etc. ), I got a strong, bitter, headache-inducing scent that smelled like oakmoss and a bit of burnt wood. And it lasted: 12 hours later it was still very strong. I thought: thats enough of that !! and put it away.

About 6 weeks later I tried it again - and this time: an intense tropical blast filled the room, pineapple, orange, other citrus, and in the background the smoky birch was present, among other notes. For a masculine, fresh scent, the opening was literally majestic and to me it can't be topped.

It settles down to a mix of tart apple and currant over a creamier base of ambergris and vanilla (slight) with a hint of saltiness - this combination is fantastic. There is an ashy scent that mixes in during an early part of the drydown. The wearer may not smell it anymore, but others will still catch the pineapple and birch mixing in and out.

There are other somewhat similar scents that have shown up, some obvious knock offs (Insurrection etc.), others (Micallef Royal Vintage etc.) that are "working some of the same territory". It should surprise no one that Aventus launched first: Creed will always be a leader, the others can only follow. They miss the open sky wildness and the vision of Aventus - the followers end up being sanitized and domesticated scents with none of the daring.

The price of Aventus is not relevant. Deciding you want to buy a car for 50K instead of your usual 20K or something is a big deal. A few extra bucks for a fragrance is not really newsworthy.

Sillage and longevity are very good as many have noted. Based on my experience as described in the opening, the first time or two trying this may not be a good indicator, the fragrance may need some time.

I personally love sweet, warm, sophisticated scents eventhough I am living in hot and humid location like south east asia. I found that almost of refresh scents are very weak in term of longevity and they are also generic and they don't leave any good impression at all. Indeed I am using bleu the chanel for my office wear but it is not complex and too mainstream here but Aventus is an exceptional exception. I don't like much the opening even I love the smell of pineapple but it is too pepery. The drydown is really the beaty of this fragrance, smoky, woodsy but clean, sexy and masculine. I really love it.

The best part of Creed Aventus is its versatility. Yes, if I am wearing it daily for formal office wear and I am also ready for any for very formal meeting where I want to leave a very good image to my business partners. For any date out after work, club, bar, or elegant dating occasions, it is a beast. What I need to have an atomizer to boost and bring the smell back. It can't go wrong.

No matter what people say I think it is worth every single penny that I have spent. Tobacco Vanille and La Nuit de L'homme are currently my signature scents but Creed Aventus is a must and mainstay in my wardrobe. There are haters and lovers due to its fame and Creed's service but if you are fragrance lover, you cannot ignore this wonderful product.

I want this frag so bad. Finally got around to sampling it and I love it. Super natural pineapple scent mixed with smoke and woods. It actually smells like eating a fresh pineapple in a barbershop with the smell of shaving cream everywhere, high quality shaving cream not barbasol.

Crazy longevity
Very good projection.

I've only sampled this frag a bunch of times and don't know if it was a smokey batch and that's what's keeping me from buying a full bottle.

I've just gotten a 15U11 batch of Aventus and I have to say that it's the best batch I've smelt yet. It's heavy on the pineapple but it's not overly sweet. Very unique scent that the clones can't really capture like they could in the earlier batches. 15U11 doesn't have the pungent plastic or burning sensation of the earlier batches, so if you like the smokey batches, 15U11 definitely isn't for you, but in my opinion, this is definitely the way Aventus should smell as it's very youthful, fresh and fruity.

Aventus had previously not been my favorite Creed. In fact, Millesime Imperial is still my favorite. I was somewhat surprised to find that through a blind test between Aventus, MI, GIT, Erolfa, and SMW, 3 out of the 4 young (<25 years old) women I had smell my Creeds preferred Aventus over the others on men. Across the board, they preferred SMW on a woman. GIT was hit or miss, with 2 of the women saying it smelt too mature and reminiscent of an expensive soap. Erolfa didn't offend, but only 1 of the women considered it their favorite while the others passed it along unenthusiastically. MI garnered moderate satisfaction as well, although one of the women claimed it was too strong. All 4 enjoyed Aventus, and 3 of them said it was better than the other Creeds by a fair margin.

Do with that what you'd like, but in my observations, the 15U11 batch of Aventus is very much liked by women and I can see why.

Holy Creed... All the comments are only increasing its popularity. Period.

Scent is amazing, good not groundbreaking.
Quite a lot of alternative fragrances in the market, if someone with an Internet and spare time can actually dig out a lot of niche Arabian and Consumer friendly Perfumeries dishing out quality products at a fraction of cost for a decent sized bottle of this GEM - Creed's Aventus.

Honestly I don't seem to be intrigued to find out the Perfumers composition for this amazing scent (Quality Control) including the good'ol Creed Perfume House, which ofcourse is another topic altogether. All said and done I sincerely believe, in a free world a company has equal rights in pricing its product as we as consumers have a million other choices to cherish. Creed has the right to charge what they see fit for their unique masterpiece and deliver it with passsion, like they did with Aventus, Tabarome, Green Irish Tweed, Silver Mountain Water, Royal Oud, Original Santal and many more.

At the end of the day I'm the King, I'm the Actor in my inner world. If I am happily content to invest in a true masterpiece without remorse, Soul points. If I am content with a bargain then all the more power to the Soul.

Aventus has been a step-up for me in my Fragrance journey.
Like getting a hard earned Rolex or a Panerai. A well-deserving perks of Being Human. Respects given and memories cherished.

Give Creed their due credit, buy a decant/sample/whatever, Experience it atleast once for real. Then the door swings both ways, IN or OUT choice is simple. MASTERPIECE or TRENDY alternatives.

Ok, it smells great, yes it is a luxury to buy it, but very few fragrances compare to it.My husband wears it, and he wears Bleu de Chanel too, Aventus just mixes in a unique way fruits and smokey notes...it smells rare, it smells distinctive..so you cannot argue the quality of the stuff...maybe there are cheaper scents that come close, but so far, Aventus remains a unique and distinctive scent, above many out there..

Not trying to jump on the bandwagon of recent hate but... I smelled it and I don't get the obsession. Wouldn't pay all that money for it.

Creed don't care if you have a poor batch, surely with all the expertise and money they charge they could acknowledge you as a customer. I have 20 Creed Fragrances, but I am shocked how they treat the customers, basically as chumps, so I just threw all of them in the local dump, because that's what their customer service is like, actually I am being cruel to the dump they have better customer service manners. Shame on you Creed!

I am not sure why this is such a hype it is, given the silly price it is. It, to me smells like a damp woody bonfire where your mum runs out to throw lemons an pineapple on it in some sort of ritual. Its woodsy, smokey, and yet a hint of lemony pineapple. There are far better fragrances than this and some that cost 1/10th of the price. Creed Customer Services is very French too. It reminds me of the Songat refugee camp, they don't give a damn even when they know they have a problem. We got our money we don't care! I know that Creed Fragrances are some of the most faked,so I refuse to buy this on eBay, yet when you by this from one of London's Iconic shopping Emporiums, where people will buy a one small chocolate for a bag you know the one and the fragrance is basically crap, you have to ask serious questions. maybe the Ebay version and the non genuine would smell better. It couldn't smell worse. At worse it would smell like water or denatured alcohol How can they ask over £215 for this? I will stick to my Old Spice and not smell like Stig of the dump and pay through the nose, and I wished it had been a blocked nose to that end,when I realised I had just found that Aventus meant success, in this case for the company successfully ripping the people off! Be it the upper echelons or working class!

This is a pass for me. I'll tell you why. On me, all I get is a sharp shot of juniper berry. It's like your drunk uncles bottle of cheap gin. Plus, all this nonsense about different batches and quality and longevity. For the insane price they charge for this I expect way more. If you like this and want similar quality, give a shot to Voyage d'Hermes. They're quite similar, minus the ridiculous price tag.

I was reluctant to try this. I feel like most over-hyped fragrances end up not living up. These stuff is worth every penny. Easily in my top 10

Aventus vs. Scent of Peace:

Aventus: Sharper, more citrusy, extremely linear, average longevity and projection

SoP: Smoother, sweeter, more complex, extreme longevity and great projection

I'll take Scent of Peace over Aventus any day of the week.

I got a tester with batch code C02, and it lasts but the definite main accord is oak moss, it is strong throughout the whole life of the fragrance and there is very little pineapple except for the opening (which is what I was hoping for)

The performance for the CO1 batch of Aventus is INCREDIBLEEEEEEEEEEEE. i am the sort of person who cannot get any meaningful performance out of any fragrance that isn't super sweet or a heavy floral but i get sillage from aventus - - not just the ability to smell it on my skin, but actual sillage on my neck after 13 hours upon waking up in the morning i can still smell it!

also, do not buy aventus or bleu de chanel for the opening, both are too strong and not particularly appealing. however the drydown of both fragrances should be their selling point, aventus drydown = unbeatable.

My all time favorite!!!! The best !!!! When I find something better, I will let you all know. You will surely standout.

I tested this perfume and I think it is overrated.it smells smoky more than fruity and its Longevity and projection is up to moderate.there are so many other original perfumes that cost very less than this one.i can't pay so much for this.i think it is just a very usual perfume and its not something special.

Creed Aventus. Fresh/ Fruity / Sweet / Tropical / classy / elegant / Masculine / Young and verrrrrrrrrrrry SEXY.

This is a must have for any cologne collection. A for sure compliment getter. Everyone will ask what you are wearing. Its well worth the price of admission. Buy it.

a very safe blind buy if you can afford it.

Smoky birch softened by lots of clean, sharp musk and and a little fruitiness. I don't get much pineapple in my batch. A nice masculine, an attention getter and personality communicator for thoroughly masculine men, but it is also cold and stark and can come across as imposing and unwelcoming.

am i the only one who finds this overrated? i just find it boring. i think there are many many more fragrances out there that are much better than this, but thats just my personal opinion.

After trying a creed cologne it's hard to go back to any other scent as it smells fake in comparison. Definately not worth the price but it does smell amazing.

Tried it after purchasing some samples from ebay. It's a great fragrance. The thing about batches is real. I first bought a 30ml Aventus, and then a 75 ml and they smell a little different, but the base is the same. I like it, and it REALLY gets A LOT of compliments from people. Some people said that it smells like a good after shave, but they LOVED it. Others say that they just love the smell.
One last thing, even though you may think that after some hours the smell fades away, people still can smell it. Don't know why, but it works :)

Finally I get to experience the famous Aventus. Tested from a sample this morning and again this evening.
Unmistakable pineapple right from the start. The pineapple note is so dominant that I found it hard to discern much else underneath. I thought I got a kind of camphory smell too at the start, and woods later on.
After a couple of hours the scent becomes mellower, smoother, but it's still hard to get past the pineapple.
My preconceptions of this scent were of a crazy, totally-tropical thing, like a hawaiian shirt, that would just make me feel silly: so not my thing. However it wasn't at all like that. Actually it's a fresh, fruity, very modern, and extremely pleasant scent. It grew on me throughout the day, and was complimented too. I can see how young guys would want this - it's upbeat, very attractive, clean. It's the kind of scent a younger guy would completely expect to appeal to the opposite sex. Whether it actually does or not is for the women to decide. In this sense for me it's absolutely a young man's fragrance.
Longevity : ages, about 8 hours (maybe too long to smell of pineapple?). Sillage : moderate to a bit more than moderate.
Is it worth the price tag? Who am I to say, maybe it is.
Overall a thumbs up.

today i bought aventus creed based on many online praising, i bought it for 380usd , to my nose i didnt like it smell like lemon to me , and i hate lemon smell if i want lemon smell i could buy a dish soap with lemon smell, and to my shock i have cedrat boise by mancera and afnan supermacy which are the same smell i didnt find creed aventus unique, and did read online that they changed the formulation took out oakmoss which now doesnt make the fragrance last long as they were, if you want creed aventus just buy cedrat boise by mancera or afnan supermacy or insurrection pure II or club de nuit by armaf they all smell the same but much cheaper than aventus really overrated in my opinion.

I like the first 5 minutes of Aventus then after that it's just boring, cold and bland. I smell cut green twigs, no vanilla, no jasmine, no rose and sadly, it reminds me of Philosikos by Diptyque. I'm glad I didn't blind buy it.

I wear this fragrance (14M01) approximatly once a month. Every time i get a compliment.
It's fresh, manly, simple, but refined and high class.
Longevity (10-12 hours).
Projection : perfect.

BUT even if it's a nice scent, i can not wear this fragrance regularly. IMO, the simplicity (only pineapple and smoky) of this fragrance can make it boring if it wears daily.

I was skeptical at first. Story short: believe the hype.

This is a real masterpiece. Needless to write a long story about it, it's simply a wonderful classy fragrance for real gentlemen. As soon as you smell it (if not yet), you will know what I am talking about.

How can people Love this?First of all
Extremely overpriced it was good between 2010-2012 after that batches are crap.
How is it possible Creed to make different batch each time some more fruity some more smokey,its a customer's rip off,who will pay the price even this is weak as hell.
I owned different batches and few 120ml bottles but sold them ,guess why they was weak or bad batches, i never found what i was searching for,and best batches from 2010 -2011 are extremely overpriced on ebay insane prices.
So good luck finding the real creed,who was really greed with projection longevity etcs...
These days its comercial junk who doesnt deserve the money unless they fix their formula and make it stronger again which never gonna happen since some ingredients like oak moss are not allowed any more..

i feel that my review will be cicked out :) .... but this is really how i feel aventus ....

SCENT: I just purchased a 14M01 batch which is great. In comparison to my last batch, this is less fruity with more refinement in the way of polished leather, smokey bergamot and musk. Lasts a good 12 hours with 2 sprays to the neck. The smell of Aventus creates deep nostalgia for me as it reminds me of an Uncle who had an old classic sports car in the eighties, the strong scent of the leather seats, fruity Magic Tree air fresheners, expensive cologne and smoked cigarettes all mixed inside that car. It is quite a specific smell to me, perhaps many will find it endearing but not be sure why. For wet shavers, it layers well with some of the high-end shaving creams from the likes of Truefitt & Hill and Geo. F. Trumper. A very pleasant scent that garners compliments, especially from women (but go easy on the trigger).

PRODUCT: The Napoleon theme is somewhat pretentious and the packaging simply doesn't live up to the theme. It looks more like a plastic toy you would give to a toddler. Very cheap looking...

On a separate note I would like to say that Creed has done a great injustice to it customers. More than 20 batches of varying quality and performance. They even smell very different from batch to batch. And they still cannot produce a cap to fit the bottle properly (???). If you are paying this amount of money for a product, quality control should not be an issue. Totally unacceptable in my book. Sorry, but it has to be said...

Otherwise, my 14M01 batch is excellent!

Modern reinterpretation of the 1980's. Magnificent smell of quality shaving foam mixed with pineapple and currant.

I had the opportunity to smell it when it first appeared in the market, and I had it in my collection by the next year.

I neither feel sorry nor is it important that it became mega popular and that the younger generations are doing the propaganda that bothers many. What I do find important is that pleasure and emotions I feel when I'm wearing it.

Aventus is a scent for urban gentlemen, which can be worn throughout the year, combined with some elegant style. Stability and projection are great.

Masterpiece...

One of the best fragrances ever created. A pineappley, fresh, woody aphrodisiac that girls get all googly eyed over. Never have I received so many sincere 'OH my god, you smell amazing!' compliments on a fragrance ever. At least one compliment each wear guaranteed. I luckily purchased the 15R11 batch, and although it took about two weeks to mature into the projection and longevity powerhouse that it is, the wait was definitely worth it! I wanna say the price isn't justified, but... it really is.

Ticks all the boxes. 10/10.

I recently purchased this fragrance, and I mostly get leather and smoke for the first 5-10 minutes after putting this on. After that, the pineapple reveals itself and it stays there almost until the very end, where it still smells like pineapple to me, but it does have more woody and floral aspects to it. Aventus lasts a long time on my skin and I can still smell it projecting off my neck 10 hours after application, which I perceive as a truly pleasant surprise, since other fragrances like La Nuit De L'Homme or Dior Homme Intense become skin scents on me 3-4 hours after putting them on - a point at which I have to press my nose against my wrist to be able to smell them, alas! I sprayed this on at 11 A.M., went on a bus trip, visited a friend of mine, went to the football stadium, came back home 9 hours later and Aventus is still there doing its job. A great, great fragrance, without a shadow of a doubt, and most definitely something you will be amazed by if you're rather inexperienced with fragrances, just like yours truly. Heck, this might knock you off your socks, even if you're a fragrance veteran, I don't know. I can only speak for myself.

So yes, the scent is amazing, and so are La Nuit or DHI, but Aventus' performance and longevity makes it better than those two in my book, though I do wish to add that I wouldn't wear this beloved juice of mine too frequently, since I can't afford to blow big bucks on a fragrance all too often. :-)

On a seperate note, I got one of the "bad" batches, as people like to call them, but it doesn't seem bad to me at all. So don't worry about it, if you too got yourself a "bad batch", or if you're about to get one (as a gift perhaps... lucky you!)

Here's something i discovered a few weeks ago. Note: This might come in handy... The 1st Aventus Bottle i bought, was Batch Z01 the Fruity Pineapple. Second Aventus Bottle i bought, was the 1N01. The 1N01 is the Smoky, leathery, and far less fruity batch which i did not like. I was very dissapointed cause i felt like my money went down the drain. I kept the bottle but did not use for a year. A few weeks ago i decided to use the 1N01. Believe it or not the N101 became like the Z01 with that legendary fruity scent. I compared both Batches side by side and they smelled exactly alike. The N101 got better with time. The N101 was like a Caterpillar transforming into that beautiful Z01 Butterfly. Creed uses real oils in their fragrances, so it takes time for them to mix or age well in the bottle. Don't throw or give away those so called bad batches, cause they need time to get better.

Going off a sample from Nordstroms, I find this to be a lovely fragrance with very good performance: longevity is a solid 8 hours with very acceptable projection. Is it worth the retail price? Not in my view. Some people below imply that "contrary" reviews are the result of "sour grapes" from those that cannot afford it. I find that extremely arrogant. Is it a very nice perfume? Yes. Does it smell better and out perform a plethora of beautiful perfumes that can be had for a fraction of it's price? I think not. If someone is so "bowled over" by this perfume that they are willing to pay what some think is an outrageous price, I will respect that. But to disparage those with a more reasoned view by assuming it is beyond their "reach" is the height of ignorance and stupidity.

Now I do love the smell of Aventus, but I highly doubt I will repurchase due to the fact that every time I turn around, Creed is increasing their prices. Not worth it imo.

Being new to the fragrance community, I only became aware of Creed's products a short time ago. I have had an interest in perfumes since my school days many years ago and since leaving school, I have always had at least 2 or 3 fragrances to choose from. Anyway, I digress. I read reviews about Aventus and thought I have to try that after the positivity it receives and the high esteem in which it is held. So, I sampled it and although disappointed initially, I warmed to it very quickly and I get the hype. I took the plunge and bought a bottle which has just arrived.

This is a classy fragrance, as you would expect given the price and Creed's history and standing in the perfume world. I got the fruity smell initially - I was expecting something along the lines of Hugo Red - but this is better and more fruity. Once it has settled down, it becomes an amazing smell to my nose. I have just been reading about iffy batches and I have to hope that I have a good one. I normally suffer with longevity on my skin, but it's so far, so good with Aventus after several hours. I have recently changed my signature scent after several years to Alford & Hoffs excellent fragrance - time will tell if Aventus usurps it; it's a distinct possibility.

This is as good as many say it is. Take the plunge and treat yourself!

AVENTUS DISASTER 2015 batches

I read a lot of people have issues with their 2015 batch including myself.
I suggest you contact creed uk and tell them about your experience with your newest 2015 purchase. Else they will never do something about it.
I too had a bottle from 2011 and 2013 and they performed very good. Whole day.With more smoke than the 2015.
My batch is 2015Q01 and it is a joke. 30 minutes and its gone, only a very faint skin scent remains after that. I have to litteraly put my nose on it to get that very faint smell. Nobody can smell me. I put 6 heavy sprays.
And this has NOTHING to do with nose fatigue. Nobody around me can smell me.
It seems like an extremely watered down version of what it used to be.
I contacted creed about it and they just beat around the bush. Crap

Somehow this fragrance reminds me of my uncle. Memories of visiting him as a kid and vacations at his house in the hills. The trips to the golf club. I'm not saying this smells old or dated at all. It brings memories of the times. But here is where it gets weird. I've heard others say the same too, that it reminds them of their father or someone from childhood. I was shocked to hear fragrance bros mention it too! well... Nevertheless I love it, and even more because of the memories it evokes.

Check the batches. This is a massive point! Got the batch 15R11 and lasts half hour. I had a sample from a year ago and lasts all day with a better smell. Stupid creed, who was quality control/consistency?. As if they can't afford mass-spectrometry analysis when they charge prices CEO'S can only afford. Anyways 2013 creed is the greatest and it smells excellent. If you want more pinapple just get the scent oil separate for $6 and mix in. The pinapple scent oil I got smells of excellent quality too, and lasts. I also have the insurrection pure 2 and silver XS, they all vary but the better of the two is XS, because more fruit but has more metallic, while pure 2 has more smoke and no metallic.

Traian and FRANT1C - let me take you both straight to school you noobs.3 bottles of £215/120ml Aventus-that's £1.8/ml-are you out of your mind? Next time buy your Creed fragrances from France-you can get 500ml decanter for €389,00/£280 -that's £0.56/ml - more than 3 times cheaper.Shipping to Woking/Surrey is 12euros.

I think everything has being already said about this now "legendary" fragrance, but anyway i'm gonna give my 2 cents because that's why we are here right?.

The scent is amazing, and is one of the few fragrances that you get right away what the notes are: pineapple smoked out.
Like someone started a fire and put pineapples in it, that's the smell you get from Aventus. It is warm, delicious and masculine, and the best part is that no other fragrance (at least the ones i've tried) smells remotely like it. So you are guaranteed to smell unique.

On the other hand, the performance on this one is awful. I don't know if it's me or what, but after 30 minutes it became a skin scent and had to reaply. I've never being against Creeds being expensive, because this is a luxury brand whe are talking about, like would you complain about the price of a rolls royce or a Ferrari? no, because you know what kind of brand you are dealing with, however I would not pay a Creed price if I have to reapply every 2 hours; I'll be broke in no time.

If you are gonna charge 200+ dollars for a fragrance, at least make it really strong so yo get your money's worth. A really great and unique fragrance is not worth it if the performance sucks.

Would you buy a Porche if every 10 miles you had to change tires? no?..........that's why I thought.

i dont understand why it says for Men. i would say it's Unisex. I fell in love with this perfume. The few things i dont like: design looks very boring and no one can smell it on me ( very light).

I have 14M01 batch and it opens up fruity and fresh and after like 20 mins it turns very woody and musky with not a lot of fruit but after 1-2h the pineapple really shows up and its an amazing balance between fruity and darker notes. Longevity is about 8-12h which is very good and projection is good. In my opinion its the best fragrance out there for men so its a 10/10

A must have perfume from the house of Creed. You will receive a lot of compliments wearing this perfume especially to those nose maiden with its smell. It's the smell of a pineapple with a twist.

Quintessential haute Classic with the modern-faced fizzy fruits combined with finely smoked-woody ashes at top. Possibly the best 'go-to' of all time - provided you get the 'batch' you want.

Here is a problem; smokey or not to be smokey? How smokey do you want your pineapple Sir/Madam? (not a very common question!)

The infamous batch variations which Creed should really be embarrassed for: there must be 1000's as each sample I've ever tried has been slightly different in the relative amounts of pineapples or freshness vs smoke!

Really, my score has easily swung between a 9 without smoke for me, to 5 with an 'ashy' sample. It's hair-pullingly infuriating!

Let me also say that this is by no means an absolute stunner; the top notes *can be. But the pineapple is a little too green for my liking and there is (related to the greeness or not) a slight orangey-leathery vibe that I also find in Mancera's Cedrat boise.

But with other Houses using stuff like Berries, apricots, bananas as their 'Attention-getter' notes (and successfully) - Creed has no small modern competition on their hands!

Also, more adventurous 'safee' orientals wouldn't have gone amiss, like Tea, tolu basalm, and the wonderful creamy cashmere wood.

Also, I wanted more from the rose, rather than the greeny-leathery stuff to soften it up a bit but meh, the 'standard' will do, even with it's odd tendency to simply disappear after 30 minutes!

This aside - I'll let Aventus slide in general (assuming I always get my favorite batch lol) - it's a modern Classic and well deserved for good reason so now; positives.

Notes used here are great - going with pineapple top means mass-appeal!

But Aventus is so good because it simply does what should always be practiced by all parfumiers, not only the High-end ones. Use of top Quality ingredients and amazing blending. It's easily a benchmark for other niche scents if not actually the finest Quality produced notes itself.

Imo, the designers are simply not worthy of substitute here and I have tested almost all the clones to date!

The fresh fruits are crisp and transparent beyond belief, it's just a real shame Aventus has some very annoying downsides like the misleading 'birch' note should be labelled 'smoky' or even 'burning' birch! The pineapple leans towards the green side but the blackcurrant and vanilla from the base provide sweetness.

The drydown has rich, mildy spiced rose, woods and blackcurrant although sadly again the drydown is very faint - but others appear to detect it much better.

I just hope they fix these issues properly one day.

So for summary, it's not the best but I think it's the best Benchmark.

Becasue of the amazing Top notes of the fruity batch and overall Quality, it squeaks in at an 8; but there are quite a few better (and I emphasize 'better') 'keynote/all-occasion' scents and overall Niche houses out there - don't let the buck stop at Creed!

Scent: 8/10.
Quality: 10/10.

edit: in the meantime, check out the awfully named Cedrat boise! It's by Mancera and is widely seen as Aventus without the smoke and bit more blackcurrant.

Bought a 75ml of this. The batch number in the bottle is LT4215R11.

Linear pineapple scent. Longevity is above average, from 8 to 10 hours. Projection however is weak after 2~2.5 hours of wearing it. I can barely smell anything. I don't believe in the nose fatigue sh*t in this case. And I don't know if its a batch problem or the new sprayer with a thinner straw that sprays lesser juice than older bottles, but it seems to be weaker than Aventus was before. Not content with the purchase. Overpriced for what it is.

The Smokey Pineapple blows you away.! really good scent, stays with you, gets tons of attention.!

So after all the hype, I went and gave this a try. I was very disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's a great fragrance and smells good, but that doesn't warrant the hundreds of dollars you pay for it. Smoke some pineapples over a barbecue and add some vanilla, BAM, Aventus. For that amount of money, you can buy multiple 100ml bottles of a variety of fragrances. Your money is better well spent.

I had high expectations for this fragrance and although it definetly has the quality, but honestly there is nothing special in here at all, I can even say it's quite ordinary and most probably you have smelled the same numerous of times and from much cheaper clones.

No point of paying 350$ for compliment getter, it's great quality juice, but you can get Armaf CdN intense and you will get similar reactions.

My signature scent at the moment. I really like how creed infuse the ambergris on their fragrances, the scent is very comforting. Really feel like an emperor when wearing it!. This and irish tweed are creeds winner combo!

Do I bought Creed Aventus today and wore it tonight to my church. I got the first unsolicited complement I have ever received from a beautiful woman. We met and ended up talking for almost 30 minutes. Aventus is about to become my new signature sent.

Most overrated fragrance of the decade.

So we meet at LAST. I have been reading about this for a year. I got my sample today and immediately sprayed it on. First impression; "more generic than I thought". Sort of disappointed after the hype. I expected fresh but got a more formal sense, I get some sort of Hugo Boss from this amazingly. I'm sure I'm not alone.

It's not as bold or exciting as I thought, however it smells good. Safe for everything-kind of smell. Sexy? A little, but not like Fahrenheit or DHI.

After 5 minutes the scent got a lot more balanced and the richness came out. Now 30 minutes in I keep smelling my hand over and over (the best sign). It just smells proper and nice. Clearly I like it. A little dirty edge too it.

The pineapple is interesting and intruiging but I mostly got it in the top, so not sure why everyone mentions pineapple all the time when it's really not that apparent. After 30 minutes I get mostly a harmonic blend of musk, woods, moss and maybe vanilla.

Will test in field before deciding if buy-worthy.

I have tested this going out about 5 times and, damn, this is just quality. It has grown on me, from a great start to a potential buy - despite the price! This is a scent that I can walk around and really enjoy for myself and it's so fresh that you won't offend anyone on a night out.

I even got a unprovoced compliment yesterday, which I very RARELY get.

Seriously guys! Go do smoke pineapple on the cooker and add some vanilla to it, and there you go. It is not worth the hype. For $280, you can buy:

This smells great--especially the top notes. I think reformulated Curve smells better.

For me Aventus is like an Axe deodorant, only a high quality one. It´s very pleasant, has a big sillage and staying power.

Pineapple, apple and black currant make it a little bit sour, woodsy notes gives it a male background.
This is a fragrance for sport / gym. As I said, a high quality Axe.

I don´t think that it´s a panty dropper.

And I might never fall in love with Aventus, it´s too linear, too expensive and I don´t have any emotions, when I smell Aventus.

What a load of hype. You would think this is the carpenters cup of olfactory experience Indiana Jones picked up. Its not thats great. The fact numerous companies are making clones of it makes you think, that you chose poorly! I saw Aventus copy cat frags for £15 for two on internet auctions. So why not just buy them? It is different if you are shelling out top dollar for a unique smell. This has been emulated and now being sold for 10% of the price so you really need to reconsider shelling out what Creed want. To be honest Creed need to have a good derriere kicking, overpriced, zero customer services and candid affair to people so whilst I hate copy cats if it hurts Creeds pocket power to them!

I didn't get what the fuss was about with this but I got a sample, rather than just a spray in a department store, and it's like the heavens opened.

I can't really give too much extra input on the reviews people have left.

I haven't met anybody who disliked the smell, I smelled this originally in Selfridges in November 2014 visiting Christmas Markets and it was sprayed on a scent card, originally I just put the card to my nose, smelled nice, put card in pocket and forgot about it.

Hours later I'm sat watching a film in the cinema and keep getting this smell and I was hunting like a dog for it and could smell it coming from my parka wrapped around my partner and realised it was the scent card and the infamous Aventus dry down smell that we all adore.

This batch I would love to know about as the scent on the card lasted for easily 2+ weeks through November UK weather ie. wet and windy and I could constantly get whiffs of it through my breast pocket and even passengers on the train could smell it.

I can't get enough of the smell and Creed house just have absolutely ridiculous smells and yes, I'd love the fragrances to be cheaper however I am happy that not everybody can wear it (however snobby that may sound). Green Irish Tweed is no doubt next on my purchases!

I will give a word of warning about Aventus batches. They can and will smell different however most agree that it's nice regardless but I do wish Creed could some how get their scent reliable but can partially understand with the purity and popularity of the fragrance, it can be hard to get the blend perfect every time I'd imagine (or maybe I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt).

My batch number is a renowned good one which I got at Harvey Nichols in Liverpool with one of the last boxes in the backstock (A42C14M01). Quite a well balanced one and not overpowering Pineapple through and through which I've noticed the 15Q01 (any 15 batch actually) smells of.

Fantastic fragrance, will purchase this on my death bed still no doubt but would love Creed to do something about getting this fragrance reliable every time.

I did it. Guilty. Jumped into the deep end of the 120 ml ocean of amazing Aventus goodness. On the bandwagon. Part of the club. Proud member. Good is good is good. Haters gonna hate.

It's just one of those scents that I'm immediately captivated by. Deliciously original without being offensive, very smooth composition, and highest quality ingredients.

I tried most of the Creed range before, and Aventus was the only one that really lit my fire enough to part with so much cash. I was going to splurge this weekend and buy Clive Christian C or possibly X that I've been testing, but ... well you know the rest.

Really unique and well blended fragrance.

Class in a bottle. A sure compliment getter. Each time when I'm wearing Aventus I get compliments. I can't say that about other popular fragrances. Women love Aventus, guys love it too, all ask what is it called.

LONGEVITY AND PROJECTION. I gotta disagree with some stating that it dies after 2-3 hours or that it lasts only for 6 hours or less.

For me it easily lasts 10-12 hours. Beast mode projection up to 6,5 hours. Can I detect whiffs after 5+ hours? Easily. I do not spray fragrances on my clothes but taking into account how long it lasts on skin, I could argue that it well exceeds 12 hours on clothes easily.

BATCHES: I own a 2015 batch. I've only smelled one other batch in store that was from 2014. No distinctive difference for me. For those who are concerned about batch variations, if it does make that big of a difference for you not to buy a fragrance then just pass it and purchase some other one or go with 2 bottles of quality designer releases.

In conclusion, a very elegant, quality fragrances with great projection and longevity.

P.S. Aventus fills the room and leaves magnificent scent trail. Words by people that complimented me when wearing it.

This one is so hard to understand for longevity and projection. I get really good projection in the opening but I don't feel that it projects much in the dry down. People always say "it's olfactory fatigue" but I spray fragrances on my clothes all the time. Other fragrances are still potent on my used clothes the next day. This one is difficult to smell the next day. I don't think this one is the performance monster people make it out to be. It smells amazing and is my favorite fragrance but it doesn't perform as good as people say it does. All of the strong fragrances I wear, I can smell all day. I don't get wafts, I can smell them ALL DAY. this one I can't smell after 2-3 hours. If I wear DHI, Bleu de Chanel EDT, or A*Men, I smell them constantly all day. I don't believe in olfactory fatigue with this one. Look at it this way... If you can't smell it after a few hours, odds are, it's not there anymore. Wear other potent fragrances and tell me I'm wrong. Wear Black Afgano or A*Men and overspray or even apply it normally. You'll smell them all day. You won't smell Aventus all day. I have received a lot of compliments with this but they've all been in the opening only.

I received my second 4oz flacon today. I know own the 14A01 batch and the the new 15Q01 batch. I don't want to wear two bottles of the same fragrance but I put a spray of each on each hand and smelled them side by side. There are definitely some differences but the average person will never be able to tell the difference. The 15Q01 batch is very fruity and the bottle is new so it has the click on cap and the new sprayer. And believe it or not, it puts out more juice than the standard creed sprayers. The 14A01 batch is smokies and when I compared the two side by side, I smelled mint in this batch. Natural mint like you would find in your backyard. Both batches smell good. I haven't tested the longevity and projection with the 15Q01 batch yet but I'm hoping it's as potent as the 14A01 batch.

I have wanted this for a few years but couldn't justify spending £100 for 30ml... My mum bought me a fantastic 'sorry it's not your birthday present' and I jumped for joy!

I decided not to check the batch number for fear it would affect my interpretation of this wonderful scent (the same goes for comments about reformulations on this and other scents).

This smells like smokey pineapple. It has depth and warmth and I've smelt nothing like it. I feel confident and outgoing when I wear this (I guess the marketing has something to do with that!).


For the first time I believe in 'olfactary fatigue' as I struggle to smell it unless pressing my nose to my sleeve yet it continues to draw compliments! SO many compliments (the most I have had in a day)!

I would say projection is slap bang between moderate and heavy. It lasts well.

I will buy it again but try to save for special occasions (or days I need compliments.

Tried a few clones of this such as Armaf iDivo and one of the attars from ebay by Al Sunnah.

Read all the hype and thought i'd try clones first, didn't want to spend a huge sum blindly. Wasn't really overwhelmed but i got compliments.

Couple days ago my missus bought be a 30ml bottle of proper Aventus from selfridges.

Trying the proper stuff it's evident that the opening is more powerful, the top notes are a lot fruitier, but alas they don't seem to last very long. The drydown i can't differentiate from the clones.

Would i buy the proper stuff again?

No, it's all about the drydown which you can get from clones for far less money.

I was holding off on giving my view on Aventus because really, what more can be said? What else can be added?

I wear Aventus at least two or three times a week. I fell in love with it the first time I got a whiff. That smokey pineapple smell is just so magnificent. Another huge plus is that it has great performance and longevity for me.

This is without a doubt my most complimented fragrance. I am constantly asked what it is I'm wearing or "can you write down for me the name of that cologne?" I'm always being told how amazing it smells.

Here's the thing about it though and others have mentioned it as well. Olfactory fatigue is very real with Aventus. You may think the scent has gone faint, but it hasn't. I have gotten compliments 6+ hours after applying it.

Is it pricey? Sure. Is it worth it? To me it absolutely is.

oh p,s, for those who love the opening of aventus but dont want to pay the $340 usd price tag check out "fresco" by ilum dean. a cheaper alternative(and a straight up copycat) of aventus. my opinion: it smelled exactly the same as the "pineapple batch" however, nothing beats the real deal. aventus is so much better honestly.

this fragrance is so ridiculously beast! i think people start hating on anything that gets its due praise just because everyone uses, talks about, or has sampled it already. its almost like the same sort of hating chicks have when they see that girl with the same dress she has on.

it seems like as far as any fragrance ive smelled and loved, i'll check the reviews on it and there's just about as much hate on it as there is praise. aventus is what EVERY fragrance should strive to be like. great smell 9/10, great blend 9/10, amazing sillage 10/10, and beast mode longevity 10/10. it gets a 2/10 for that price tho. jesus its expensive!!

I used to think it was ridiculous for people to buy Creed Fragrances for so expensive, but then I smelt this one. There is truly nothing out there that is quite like it. I also expected this to be a familiar scent because it is so popular, but I have never smelled this in my life.

The Notes?
Smoky Pineapple, thats all Im gonna say.

Manly, sexy, and incredibly versatile. This one is definitely an attention getter. Would work best for someone with a powerful presence and big personality, but is definitely not limited to that type of person. It could be worn casually at home, definitely on a date or night out, and also could be alright for work. Would do just fine for all ages, but best for ages 18-30 in my opinion. Everyone loves it, but I think men love it a bit more than women.

Finally Aventus is mine! The wait is over.
From first blast I love this! my batch is LT 11 something like that so I don't know if this is a great batch or not.
I care less.
Fruity heaven! Musk and pineapple/apple/bergamot from the opening, leathery smoky woody on the drydown.
The hype is real, very addictive!
I am unsure that the price tag matches though, although I am not upset with my purchase.

Sillage and longevity is great, I can smell it wafting around me and I have sprayed my hand and can whiff that when I desire, I do get the olfactory fatigue though, but others around me can smell it.

That quality musk that a lot of Creed frags have is present an hour later, like that in Himalaya.

I don't feel that this is a projection monster though, and I don't think I am too upset about that, I enjoy this nethertheless.

BATCH A4215Q01 Dissapointment
after being somewhere at the bottom of my to buy list for almost 2 years i,ve finally got myself a 30ml bottle.
Before i had used 2 samples of this and i,ve enjoyed them.
It simply is a good and safe frag and almost everybody who is not into perfumes will appreciate this.
Non offensive. I will wear this occasionaly when i want something clean and safe.
I,ve got the 2015 Q01. I have to say i,m a little dissapointed.
My samples were a little bit more smoky and the bottle i have now is more fruity. The smoky thing was what i enjoyed most in it. My bottle is a little bit to safe and fruity for my taste.
My samples lasted a really long time. Now it,s just an average performance.
I don,t know if people around would get the difference between the smokier one or the fruitier one but i do.
I wish they amped up the birch in it to give it that slighty more dirty and smoky and above all, more masculin feeling. It,s getting downgraded now.

I,ve wore this batch 3 times till now and every single time it gave me headache. This is the only one i have that does this to me and i,m really curious to learn what the reason is for that. I,m also getting bored of the scent quickly.

So..being in the crowd of owners:-), acquired finally a bottle from batch 14F01. Really nice fruity, and extremely long lasting with its lighter smokiness, and thats good.

...as owner of many main mainstream designer perfumes from old and reputable houses, and having some niche ones, recently I can say that this is something special, compared to e.g. GIT (which I really like and think that it is the epitome of the so called 'office scents' - alongside of course with Cool Water, Aspen, Chanel Allure, Allure Sport, Bleu, Pour Monsieur, Dior Eau Sauvage, Guerlain Homme etc. what I also wear) form the same house it lasts far more longer on my skin and gives me - I can emphasize what I feel recently, and this is surprise also me - something joy and happiness what I did not felt for long time.
Saying this despite the fact that did broadened my collections with some of gems in the last month like famous and well accepted Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisée, or new hype-candidate CH Men Privé or the far most hunted YSL M7 Oud Absolu (suggested guys,do not leave that out if you find that).

So chaps, I am happy, must say hype or not hyper train it works...:-)

EDIT: still i think it has an olfactory what is outstanding and extremely good longevity and nice quality of fruitiness of pineapple, apple accords, alongside dust like vibe. Continued to be love with it. I am sure it will stay in my rotation.

(one sidenote to comment to some opinions in any reviews: i am really not happy of having super iso-e overpowering something, for me this is kinda like to be allergic to be on some pollens or so, but despite of any mentioning of that in any review here in the fragrantica , Aventus does not give this feeling to me , you shall trust in this, as i really sharpened out to hate that kind of stuff what is ovetoxicated with super iso-e)

don't understand the hype around this

Love this,,but it's is on a super hype train.

I wore this a lot back in May-June (to high school, mind you), and received compliments left and right. Class in a bottle. 'Nuff said.

I was pretty turned off by the hype for a while, and Creed's marketing sickens me, so I was behind on trying this. Finally I decided to try it, and this truly is the real deal. Bright, fruity, and a little smoky. That's also a perfect combination for masking or blending with a man's natural body odor. Aventus is quite masculine, despite the fruitiness, so don't let that discourage you from trying it. It's brilliantly well-done. This is an unbelievable compliment-getter. It's also complex enough to be enjoyed by the wearer because, at least in my case, there are elements that you don't immediately notice as separate notes (look at how varied that note lost is!) Just try a sample, and don't worry about batch variations until you've tried it.

After a while of wearing I can smell all the intended notes except for jasmine. The main progression of the scent is a fruity pineapple opening brightened with bergamot and darkened with a bit of smoke. Once the bergamot fades you may be able to smell blackcurrant and apple mixed in with that pineapple and smoke. The pineapple and smoke accord somehow magically sticks around forever. I mean that, I'll catch whiffs of it long after other notes fade. As things progress, the smoke might gain a bit of strength but it never overpowers and is quite pleasant. The "rose" is very gentle and I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't know it was there. As things progress there's a woody quality (Timbersilk) that comes through a bit but it's also fairly soft. I never got much leather out of it but I can see how people would get that impression. The base is hiding way at the bottom of the scent and it's Creed's familiar ambergris with a tiny bit of vanillin to take the sharpness of the scent. It's more there as a sweetener than as an actual note. Even when the fragrance is down to its final whispers and the base is fading, there's that pineapple accord lingering around.

That's not to say there's nothing I wished this fragrance would do differently. For one thing, olfactory fatigue is a real thing. Don't spray it on your neck and upper chest if you want to smell it all day. I'll spray it on my wrists and dab the back of my neck or behind the ears where it won't constantly fill my nostrils. This is one reason why some people say it disappears quickly. There are a lot of stories out there of people saying the scent faded away within two hours...then they got complimented on it ten hours later.

As for batch variations, yes, they exist, but they're not terribly extreme. Originally the fragrance was fairly fruity with a hint of smoke, but between 2011-2013 some batches were made with pretty heavy smoke. That's what started all the batch variation talk. Since 2014,they've been consistent and a bit more in line with the original batches, so it's easy to miss all the major variations if you've only tried the fragrance a few times. That's why I say get a sample and don't worry too much about it; you're unlikely to get anything older than 2014 so you'll be smelling the fragrance as it's meant to smell. All batches have equally great longevity and I believe they all project just about the same amount and they all have the same core smell to them.

Another thing to consider is that the balance is so delicate that any improper storage ruins the scent easily so I'd bet a lot of "bad batches" are perfectly fine batches that have been on the grey market a little too long. Don't use ebay unless you truly know and trust the seller and only buy from sites with great return policies and customer service, or get it from an authorized seller.

TL;DR: this lives up to the hype, don't worry about batches if you haven't tried it, if longevity doesn't seem good it's because your nose grew numb to it, buy from legit sellers.

I`ve been thinking of getting my hands on this perfume lately, but reading all the reviews and experiences regarding Aventus just pretty much leave me utterly dumbfounded.

All I can think of is the unbelievable inconsistency that apparently exists within this expensive high-end product (i.e. different batches). One`s purchase becomes a dream come true while the other buyer feels cheated (rightfully so) after paying a lot of money for something that is almost a skin scent and smells nothing they are accustomed to with CA.

I would understand and borderline accept this if it turned out that there was some sort of an explosion at the chemist`s lab which left a particular batch a tad bit smokier and so on and so forth, but I have a strong feeling this isn`t the case and I`m just trying to be cute here.

Now, am I going to start chasing after a particular batch code? Absolutely not! I will probably choose a different house altogether.

This scent grew on me..since when I bought it I began to like it more and more and also his performances are improved..with four sprays i have more than 12 hours of longevity and 5 hours of powerful sillage. It opens up fruity almost juicy and then the birch comes in and makes it very masculine and strong..it's really a wonderful scent. Believe the hype!

Yes, Its a Monster.

Its a fragrance like this that makes me want to end my rule of never buying the same fragrance as a close friend or room mate. I have smelled and tried multiple batches and they are all superb, of course the more fruity batches tend to work better for me.

In my opinion this is one of the few creed juices that has a great lasting power. As many have said before me, you may feel that the scent has died when you are really suffering from olfactory fatigue. Yes its still projecting, you have just adapted to it.

Reminds me of a Chanel Allure Homme, but I am most happy when the Pineapple and Rose notes pop. Lasts on me for about seven hours with a four foot projection most times.

BOTTOM LINE: I Recommend it but don't jump into this level of fragrance unless you are ready, you prove nothing by flashing price tags. Though I must always say YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

I love Creed Aventus and have a bottle of the famous Z01 batch. I also have two other bottles that are a little less fruit B01 batch is one.

I recently bought a 4 oz bottle of Demeter Pineapple and blended it with Creed Aventus (2:1 ratio of Aventus to Demeter) and it smells great.

Aventus smells great but has poor projection and maybe medium longivity. It's a real drag since it smells like heaven and costs a small fortune.

And batch variations sucks!

It has passed through my hands recently, one of the new batches of 2015 (LT4215R11) and has lost much of smoky tones, which supposedly gives birch, staying in a much more fruity fragrance.

Longevity has decreased and is rather weak (5-6 hours) and I found the sillage discreet, touching the ridiculous.

So if you have improved, it is both the closure as the vaporizer itself. Now, the closure does not give the feeling of "cheap" that was before (even with comments leakage, some users). The cap is correctly fixed on the bottle (not before) and the vaporizer is somewhat wider and sprayed better.

It is more fruity is not a problem for me, that I love these notes and smoked no, but the performance has seemed so pathetic that sounds like a real tease the price of this fragrance, you have risen markedly, by the way . Round the scam.

It's a shame because I really like the smell. :(

I know that my sound a little over the top, but that's how much I adore this fragrance. Categorically the best male's fragrance I have ever smelled. It completely exceeded the hype it receives. From the moment I sprayed it from a 2ml decant, I was completely blown away. To conserve my 4oz bottle of batch 14K01, I only spray it on Sundays before going to church, and every time I spray it on, I feel like I'm spraying on a cloak of invincibility, power, and confidence. Nobody else in your social circle will smell like you if you wear Aventus. If you don't ever smell another fragrance in your life, do yourself a favor, and get your nose on Aventus.

I’m not very fond of trendy male perfumes, with some exceptions I prefer creations made 20 years ago and older.
Creed Aventus was like a slap on my face to make me reconsider my position that seduced me from the first note to the rest of the pyramid.
Those juicy and ripe fruits made me hungry for more, the flowers specially the rose and jasmine were like a dream and the spices and woods on the base were the most perfect think I have smelled on a modern male fragrance.
While Royal Oud left me totally disappointed Aventus made me fall in love.
Is sexy, really sexy, daring, perfect for day or night, perfect everywhere an unforgettable pleasure.

I don't know anything about batch #'s, nor can I break the scent down scientifically like some of you on this site, but all I can say is AVENTUS IS AN ABSOLUTE PANTY DROPPER! I just bought some last week after research (including this site) and sampling, and I couldn't be happier.

Guys be honest, your intention behind wearing nice cologne is getting women to notice and compliment.
I wore it 2 days after purchasing on a date, and had her telling my at least 7 times how good I smelled. She couldn't get enough the smell.

The fragrance lasted an incredibly long time, and would re appear when I least expected it. Its so fresh and clean, and just made me feel better about myself when wearing it.

I also received 2 more compliments this weekend at friends get together- it will get you noticed.

Creed Aventus can either be a treisure or a disgusting fragrance depending on the batch that you get. Some people say that the batch variations exists but you still feel the same DNA. No way! these people haven't smelled enough batches.

I first smelled Aventus on a trip on St Maarten island.It was a glorious juicy pineapple mix with the exact amount of birch that made the perfum not smell like smoke at all but rather like pineapple in a gaseous state. Really interesting and unique sensation. It must have been the so called Z01 batch as this was in 2011 (and I guess they still had the oldest bottles since they didn't sell that many). I ended up not buying it because I decided I already had a pineapple based fragrance (Mont blanc legend intense) which was very inferior but costed much less. I decided to buy Dior homme intense instead since I just began my fragrance journey and didn't have anything in that category.

Last year, I decided to give it another try and bought a sample. It was nothing like the first one I smelled. This one was only smoke with no trace of pineapple. Though, I still appreciated it because it was winter at that time and this "fire" with it's projection was comforting.

I then went in the Creed boutique in Paris in June (3 months ago). I sampled some fragrances. Out of those, I liked Original Vetiver and Aventus better. This Aventus was also smoky without any trace of pineapple, but with an incredible projection that gave it an out of this world Aura. I decided to buy Aventus, even if this batch seemed to induced a little headache, it was a beast of a fragrance. Unfortunately, I didn't pay enough attention and forgot to ask the SA if she could give me a bottle of the same batch as the tester. I was very happy on my way home with the whiffs I was getting from the fragrance. When I came home and reapplied with my bottle this time, I realised it was nothing like the tester: it was lighter, not as projecting, not as smoky which is a thing I actually liked because it wasn't headache inducing like the tester and I later realised that it wasn't also as long lasting as the tester. I was so hesitant to send it back but eventually I decided to keep it because I told myself an headache inducing fragrance is probably unhealthy anyway so I kept this one who is neither impressive in smell nor in projection and longevity.

I haven't worn Aventus a lot until now since, really, the weather this fragrance can suit depends entirely on which batch you get. The first batch I smelled in St Maarten (Z01 I guess) was excellent for summer and I think it could have suited all other seasons as well. But the one I got is plain disgusting in summer.
So, as far as compliments goes, I will be able to give an opinion in winter and spring which are the only seasons I'm intending to wear it in the part of France I live in.

To me, this fragrance is a disappointment, unless you get the batches which smell like what this fragrance smelled like in its very first releases.
I think if the different batch variations of this fragrance were actually sold as flankers, not many people would buy these flankers. A lot of people buy Aventus and hope they will be lucky to get the REAL Aventus. As passionates, we take that risk because we know the Z01 batch was a fragrance of a kind that we want in our collection. Unfortunately, we get garbage instead. Shame to the Creed house.

As for my final ratings, I can't give any to the fragrance as a whole because each batch is a different perfume. The fragrance is too inconsistent. I would give 10/10 on every aspect (including longevity) to the batch I smelt in St maarten (which I think was the Z01) and 4/10 to the batch I currently have (which I bought by mistake because I didn't pay attention to the batch of the tester). I'm not being too hard with the rating I give to the batch that I have but I'm simply realistic: the scent isn't pleasant at all and can't compete with the average designer scent out there. If I didn't buy it in the Creed boutique, I would have questioned it's authenticity.

Very classy, luxury scent with good longevity. My only problem is that I always had a headache when I wore this. Poor me...

Creed Aventus is a winning fragrance in my book and one that should be in every man’s collection. It is one for the confident man, as it certainly can make you feel confident, sophisticated and attractive for this is a compliment magnet, and please guys you only need one or two sprays to get noticed, suitable for smart-casual or suit & tie gatherings I’d say.

This fragrance certainly is well crafted, carefully and lovingly throughout all the notes. Top Notes I can pick up black current, pineapple and apple. Middle notes I can pick up patchouli and rose and finally, the bottom notes I can pick up musk and oak moss. A very well blended fragrance as the aroma of Aventus I consider divine

I have a 10ml decant and 20ml left of my 120ml bottle of this, longevity of Aventus (on my skin) is about 20-30+ hours. Yes, it’s true, this gem does linger long after you’ve sprayed it. It projects like a beast too.

Top quality IMO.

Okay I am not a "1 spray" kind of guy. I like my fragrances to be loud and in your face. Therefore, I always apply at least 5 sprays of any fragrance. I went into work yesterday only wearing 1 spray of Aventus because there's a cute girl I always walk passed on my way in. I wanted to smell good but at the same time I didn't want to waste 5 sprays. So I only wore 1. I walked passed her and went behind the counter where I work and as soon as I got behind the counter my coworkers were like "you smell so good" and I was like 10 feet from them and didn't walk passed them. Within the first 5 seconds they could pick it up. I don't know how but it surprised the hell out of me. About 5 hours later, another worker came in and only came 15 feet from me and was like "what's that smell?" And 4 of my coworkers simultaneously said "it's rob" lol so this thing projects. Then today at work the cute girl I always walk passed (who is also a coworker) left work, did her hair and makeup, and then came back to get something from the counter I was working at. This stuff is amazing. So worth the money. Purchasing a second bottle soon.

THE Compliment God

I just got a 5ml decant of this from a popular youtube fragrance reviewer. I already have Insurrection Pure II the popular clone of Aventus and I enjoy it, but I wanted to see for myself what the real Creed Aventus smelled like. Curiousity got to me. I'm by no means any sort of expert of scents or notes. I'm just a casual collector who likes fragrances.

And I have to say to me this smells exactly like Insurrection Pure II. It's a bit sharper and sorta gave me a headache but to my nose I swear I can't tell the difference. Insurrection seems to be a tad smoother.

I know the hardcore Creed fans or fans of the higher end fragrances will probably disagree, but I think if you wear either noone who smells you, unless they're a fragrance aficionado, would be able to tell the difference.

So if you just wanna say you are wearing Creed and or want the bottle for your collection by all means go for the real thing. But if you want the same scent and can't afford the real thing, go for Insurrection Pure. I don't think any minor nuances there might be between the two are worth the large price difference. And you won''t have to worry about batch numbers either. Just my two cents.

Not a hater, because I do like this scent, I just don't think it lived up to all the hype for me. And you can get the clones for a fraction of the price and get the same scent. Maybe my nose isn't sophisticated enough, but I swear Pure II is the same scent to me.

It’s easy to tell whether a Creed fragrance is great. If it’s discontinued then it was great.

Aventus will never be discontinued while the Creed brand exists. I hope you get what I mean.

Just by looking at the bottle you can tell what a tasteless, crowd-pleaser, dumb fragrance to expect. It’s as boring as the designer perfumes, except that it does not smell synthetic.

Now think about how funny it is that one of the most admired perfumes is exactly the one for which every reviewer has to mention the batch number. Surely, inconsistency yields for quality. Creed has invented the fragrance lottery.

When people look at the history, they tend to be nostalgic and romantic, and they think Napoleon was a hero. Nowadays he would be considered as an aggressor, a dictator and a serial killer. Fortunately, he had been shut down at the end.

Symbolic-wise, Aventus is a perfect creation. It reminds us how big the difference between popularity and quality is.

very good fragrance, i'm not yet so well trained to explain all the notes and such stuff, but this smell amazing to me.

Its smoky and fruity, very pleasant and all occasion scent (with being best suited for moments when you want to make statement) its very unique smell which is one of my biggest things with fragrances, i like to smell different, special.....and like nothing else.

Performance? (projection) and for sure silage absolutely INSANE!!

I had some friends of my brother in my yard, and when i enter my yard, one of them asked me what i was wearing, 5h after i apply it. To make this even more impressive, i use 5ml decant, (it was my first encounter with Aventus) only 2 sprays which is less or equal to just 1 spray from full size bottle! he detect my smell (open air ofc) from like 5 meters! and after i asked him really? you can smell me from there? i then came a bit closer to say hello, but intentionally stayed like 2 meters away from him, he told me he gets big whiffs of my scent, as i move.....from all directions LOL, absolutely insane!

Later on, at 3 am, ( i sprayed at 20:00 remember?) my brother asked me what i was wearing, i passed near him like 1 meter away, and he told me this is a fragrance you should be wearing, i left stunned, 7h+ and only 1 spray?

But that's not all, lol. I woke up the next day at 12pm, first time i noticed, it was Aventus, LOL. Absolutely insane performance, and on top of that my mother then detected it 1 meter away from me, this is after 16h!!! also as a final insane moment, my pillow was smelling like it for the next 2 days as well. GG WP Creed.

Olfactory fatigue is a big thing with this scent, please ignore the "i don't smell" moment, you do project like crazy in 90% of the situations, ignore your nose.

Cédrat Boisé has more woodiness than Aventus, Creed has more fruitiness and I think this helps the sillage. I think the Creed would be a better compliment getter. I like both, not sure if I need this kind of fragrance. It hurts me to say that, but if I had to buy, it would be Aventus. This is not the kind of fragrance that I would wear for me but for others, and I think Aventus will do the job better. But I don't need them because I already have Fierce when I need compliments, even I don't love Fierce.

If youre one of the people saying "it's not worth the hype or price" that's because your expectations are through the roof. It's a great fragrance but after hearing that it's made from unicorn tears youre expecting it to blow you away. It's a fragrance remember that. So if you're complaining about it sucking, you were too deep into the hype.

Okay I own the 4A01 batch and just picked it up 2 days ago. I believe this is a more fruity batch. I don't feel like the longevity is very good but it's famously known for nasal fatigue. However the projection is monsterous. One thing about it that I don't like is the sprayer. It sprays an amazing amount of juice however it doesn't always work correctly. Sometimes it just won't spray but when it does it's amazing. This one draws attention in a very good way. The fruitiness attracts attention and makes people want to come closer. I think it's the hint of smokiness mixed with the pineapple that interests people. Yes it's safe but it hasnt really been done before. Anyways after I got home from work I payed down on the couch 2 feet from someone and asked if they could smell it and they said yeah that it smelled good.

Smell/ 10/10 it smells weird on first impression but it's smells good

I had a try on this elegant perfume and despite the price ,it was totally satisfying. Fresh opening and fresh ending. I think it opens with citrus scent, mostly apple and pineapple. It dries down slowly within at least 3 to 4 hours with magnificent projection. I can claim that It is about your arm length. Afterward the scent of middle and base notes appears. I can smell fresh floral scent mixed with musk and ambergris significantly. This is the time that the silage is near to skin. It doesn't disappear at least for 2 to 3 hours. Therefore I can say the longevity is at least 5 to 7 hours, however the trace of the scent stays on your skin more than it. Let me say for 3 hours more, but it is not significant.
I consider it is a summary and somehow spring frag and more diurnal than nocturnal. The good point is it is wearable for all occasions.
This is the perfume that never makes u feel boring. Every time that u smell it, u feel comfortable and satisfied. The point is how much do u you want to spend on a perfume? I think the price is the matter that does not satisfy u. For sure perfumes buff would do. This is a professional and subtle perfume which u never regret buying it. Thumbs up for CREED AVENTUS. Lovely but expensive.

A really amazing fragrance. Sultry smoky pineapples and musk. Maybe a little pine? I had it but sold it because I don't like the drydown. The birch overpowers and it ends up smelling like a smoker. But the opening is so good its dumb.

Just purchased a bottle of batch A4215R01....
This batch has solid contaminant (dust particle).
Hopefullyit's not affecting the shelf life of it.

Here is the update after buying and wearing Aventus I disregard my mixed review I wrote earlier. I came to this conclusion.

Aventus is in one word: ***EMPEROR***

big question WHY?

1) Outstanding performance:

But there are many that performs well, kings like Pure Malt, Fahrenheit, Bleu de Chanel, but they will seat in the corner When Emperor Aventus enters the room, kings will be all shaky and fearful, ladies will be on their knees with the powerful strong confident masculine aroma.

2) Smell:

It smells amazing, tropical, fruity, leathery, smoky, semi sweet, hint of floral, musky you name it. it has never been balanced to perfection before Aventus, I can not think of anything more masculine than this, but it is still subtle, made make one feel good, and confident in any given time.

3) Versatility:

So far in my fragrance journey, nothing came across as versatile as Aventus to me yet, Aventus will sail you through in any given situation at any time.

4) Quality:

True Niche quality that is easily wearable, unlike other niche houses that makes quality perfume that is hardly wearable. Creed is way to go, if you are looking to impress people around you as well as perfume snobs. I find it is ridiculous to smell like leather shoes in the name of leather. Quality, transition on the smell is indeed is art of beauty, but if that only impresses perfume snobs and not people around me just like me and you, I do not care about niche houses, but Creed aims for quality by ensuring the get the best quality ingredients to make simplistic perfumes yet with artistic beauty which can be liked by both snobs and mass. WIN WIN!

5) Price:

Aventus is not overpriced for what it is: even if it is a million pounds, I will still have a decant for a special day.

I finally got me a 50 ml decant and i really love it.
First of all al little story,I told my girlfriend i finally ordered a decant of it and that it's a really great fragrance.
When she arrived, she asked if i already got my package and i said, "Yes, it finally arrived, you can smell it later after I took a shower, I put on a cheap frag earlier and dont want to ruin the aventus. "
She answered "Ok, but the one you're wearing is a cheap one? What is it, it smells really nice, I like it a lot!"
Of course she didn't know, I was already wearing Aventus and I only wanted her true opinion on it.

So, what do I think of it:

After spraying, it starts with this woody, fresh and a bit smokey pinapple note.
I think the freshness comes from the Black Currant and the Bergamotte but I don't really smell them as own notes.
Then the pineapple fades into the Birch wood, that will stay there the whole experience.
Now the musk and the oak moss come in to round it up.

I dont really smell the other notes as own notes, but to me it's an overall nice and round frag, with great development and you really can smell the qualitiy this has.

Overall, this smell elegant, manly, strong, but also a bit playful, dreamy, adventurous.
You can wear this to a job interview as well as a date.

Scent: 9,5/10
Longivity: 10/10 (12 hours minimum)
Projection: 9/10

not to offend anybody..To me this is like Gucci by Gucci layered with a light version of Black XS..I did not try this formula but that what crossed my mind when tested Aventus..but not to forget that Aventus is a great perfume..:)

Aventus. The Emperor of Summer. Napoleon in vacation.

Pineapple. Ash. Birch wood. some people call it smokey pineapple, others call it a fruity Ashtray. I see where they all coming from however I have a more accurate image: You get a pineapple, you place it on some birch wood, then you set fire. you get this smell of burning wood and fruits. it's interesting though that the whiffs you get may vary as if those three elements are really burning; sometime you get more pineapple, other times the burning wood strikes. all in harmony.

Not the best smell in the world but no doubt the best fragrance in the world. Monster longevity, sillage, and projection ( without being heavy) even when it fades out and you can't feel it anymore , it surprises you and returns back again and you still can get some whiffs. I got compliments 15+ after I applied it.

I'm not a big fan of the smell itself, I just like it, however because of it's Performance I mentioned, ultimate versatility, and masculinity it gets overall the title of the most solid fragrance ever made and this put it among my 6 most favourite fragrances of all time. Numbers up there in Fragrantica tells you something as well.

This gives you a conclusion that Aventus haters are solely evaluating it from a smell perspective. which is only 7.5/10 so that's why they can't understand the hype. the smell is just very good but not excellent but it gets full mark in anything else a fragrance need.

I see it as only a hot weather fragrance, as heat help it to radiate the pineapple and the fruity nuances it has, while during winter the Ash and woods take over. two to three sprays in the summer are enough to get you noticed at least 10 hours.


The conception of this Fragrance is inspired by the dramatic life of Napoleon Bonaparte and it symbolises his power, endurance and reflects elements from his life of war, peace and love; Blackcurrant from Corsica – the birthplace of Bonaparte, Calville Blanc apples from France, Ambergris, symbolising the naval reach of Napoléon’s army, Pineapple, his favourite food. Birch wood bark, from Louisiana (ruled by France at that time in history).

I can say that the role Napoleon played in history is now played by Aventus in perfumery, Masculine, Powerful, Enduring, Ambitious, successful, and prestigious. it ends victorious though unlike Bonaparte's tragic end.

Just bought it from local reseller. 75ml. Got 2015 batch with p02 in the last.
Its really smells like apple and pineapple at the opening which is i love it. The dry down is a bit smokey but still have apple smells on it.
Awesome projection and easy 12 hours longevity on my skin!
Its smell different if you spray it on your clothes better to spray it on the skin.

Recently acquired a 30ml bottle of this because I wanted to try it out since it was so popular! My bottle is from the M01 batch, and I have to say, it deserves all the hype it gets! Clean, fresh, citrusy, masculine, outdoorsy, easy to use...what more could a man want? I'm definitely going to get a much bigger bottle of this soon because it's now my signature scent.

Scent: 9/10 really good, but not the best
Projection: 8/10 arms length at least
Longevity: haven't tested it properly, and I don't trust my nose on this one because of its notoriety for causing olfactory fatigue so I will give a proper rating when I do

Overall, very good fragrance if you're looking to purchase an all round, easy to use scent that does the job for anything. Of course, like the reviewers below, there are better fragrances for each occasion...but if you want to own only one, buy this!

UPDATE: Longevity is amazing on this...easily at least 12+ hours!!! Worth every penny in my opinion..

At the opening It is pure green tangerine peels. After a while I can pick up some smokey masculine scent from it. Awesome for sure.

fits every occation, all year. everyday all day.

if you only need one fragrance, then this is it.

but the problem comes if you got soem fragrance experiance.
aventus is 9/10 for every occation, while there are always a fragrance thats better for that single occation.

if you think its better to own just 1 fragrance and be 9/10 all the time, or have 30 fragrances and putting some effort into choosing whats best and be a 10/10 for every occation, then thats up to you.

i think that may be why its both hyped and boring people at the same time.

its the best overall fragrance ive smelt, but variation feels better.

To me this is a MASTERPIECE! First niche scent that I smelled is this one (and bought). It opens with something fresh (bergamot), little animalic (musk), little sweet (apple). After I spray Aventus, I CAN SEE myself in a forest of pines (not pineapples, just pines), in the mountains, just don't know why, probably because of the oakmoss. Ok, now the others opinion: UNIQUE, fruitty, beautiful, sophisticated, smokey, extravagant, MASTERPIECE! All the girls in the office are used to my fragrances. They like all my frags, but they're not complimenting me anymore. First time I wore Aventus at the office, from the moment I passed the office's door, all colleagues said "WOW, what is this beautiful scent ???" They were all wet, literally. Longevity is very good, projection very good, but your nose will get used to it and you'll think is gone (after 1 hour) so I did a experiment with a friend, I gave him Aventus and after 6-7 hours the projection was still pretty good on him. I was like "Something smells good in here... oh wait, it smells like me... you wear aventus" and he said to me "you forgot that I wear your perfume?" Try ON SKIN before you buy (you might don't like the musk part).

Predictable masculine fragrance,done many times before some how got out of hand and a lot of men love it, the same as a lot of teen girls love Justin BeaVer:)

Smells nice? - Yes
Mainstream appeal? - Yes
Worth the hype? - Yes And/Or Probably not.

Enough has been written about it already.
But, I'll just throw in my 2 cents anyway.

Olfactory fatigue is a big issue with Aventus.
In order to test performance, its better to spray on your wrist or arms, 1-2 sprays. Anything more, can cause olfactory fatigue and prevent you from testing its longevity properly.

Whether I can smell it on me or not (somedays I can, somedays I can't), others definitely smell it on me.
It may feel like it's gone and vanished within an hour or two, but that could very well be a common case of olfactory fatigue - so try out the wrist application method before making a final decision about its performance.

As for me, I'm still trying to figure out which application method works best for me, but I just wanted to share some of my thoughts with you all.

If you have only smelled this once, then try it again...

I had a sample of this and thought it was just a nice, generic citrus / woody scent... Oh boy was I wrong.

I bought a 20ml decant and tried it for the second time..SIMPLY BLISS... I couldn't believe a smell could bring such pleasure until I wore this for a second time & the performance was outstanding.. Watch out for Olfactory Fatigue though... this is a nightmare for disappearing to your nose only while others can smell it fine >:/

(This was the Z01 Batch, I have tried the C01 batch but I don't know what it was but the Z01 felt much fresher on the opening, maybe more pineapple?)

An amazing balance of Fruit and woods, it's like a youthful playful scent & a more classy, manly one combined, Versatile as F**K!

I think it's a masterpiece! I wouldn't pay retail though... you can get decants of this for WAY cheaper than buying it from the stores... JS :)


A Perfect, Unmatched 10/10 - For me anyway ;)

Tart black currents and the citrusy sweetness of pineapple infused into a smokey birchwood, yummy...a very summery scent. I was actually testing some scents for the BF and realized the sharpness of the birch is the only thing making this smell a little more masculine than not, but overall it's kind of a unisex fragrance. As a woman, I think I'd actually rather smell this one on me than on the BF.
UPDATE: An hour later after a lengthy dry down Aventus does become masculine as the musk, birch and oakmoss come to the forefront with a BBQ smokiness. It has now become too masculine for me to wear and I would love to smell this on the BF. It's not an androgynous scent but rather it's manly, confident and sexy.

Disgusting cheap italian fragrance. Creed is a fake brand created in Italy (in Milan) in the 80's, no kings and queens, only bullshit! And you buy lies, no natural ingredients, no history... And Olivier Creed is not the owner of the brand!

Must agree with the folks who say that this is a bit over-hyped. That's not to say that it's not good or isn't a pleasant scent, but it's just a bit...standard. It does however, stay true to what is mentioned in the notes: sweet, a bit fruity, with a musky dry-down. For mine, the pineapple and green apple are apparent immediately. The pineapple is fleeting and the fruitiness that remains is from the currant and the apple. From there, it develops into a very unimaginative, modern men's scent, not too masculine, and maintaining the sweet musk thanks to the plethora of ingredients (think Gucci Pour Homme II or F by Ferragamo). The vanilla and oak moss aren't there as much as I would like (the oak moss especially is very hard to detect), just the musk and fruit are what remain at the end. Overall, quite disappointing considering the House and its reputation.

Another gripe on this is the packaging. Bloody hell Creed! You've been making fragrances for ages and you can't even be consistent and fussed about your packaging! I know the juice is the most important thing but we're paying for the packaging too cos obviously that's included in the price. We're not paying a fortune for such fragrance just to get a not perfect presentation. That embossed crest bit on my box has some parts that aren't coated perfectly in black. The wrap-around leather-like sticker on my bottle isn't perfectly stuck on the sides and there's a tiny air bubble in the back bit. Ive seen a young bloke reviewer from the UK on youtube where he was showing his bottle on his review, and i couldn't help but notice the tiny air bubbles on the back sticker of his and he bought it from a reputable boutique in UK cos it had the legit Creed paperbag that came along with it. I mean, damn Creed! We're paying heaps of money and we expect a pristine presentation. Perfect and flawless presentation packaging are that of Tom Ford's, Xerjoff's, Amouage's, Bond No9's, just to name a few. We get what we pay for on those fragrances as a whole, but Creeds, bloody hell.

Finally got my hands on a sample. I must be the only one. But what I got after the interesting opening, was Bvlgari pour homme.I'll pass for that price.

Haven't tried YSL m7 yet Bob Marley, but it's been compared to TF's oud wood. Just want to share a story of my testing/wearing of Aventus. Wore it to work, and 2 lady workmates of mine didn't compliment me or say anything really but i could see them scratching their noses. Lol. My point here is you could get compliments out of this but it could be offensive to some people too. It was one spray on my arm at the time. I can see the love for this frag by most people and i respect that. I like the frag but i don't love it. Is it bottle worthy? Yes and No. Im a collector and enjoy fragrances so i dont mind adding this to my collection. To the average noses and practical consumers, this will just be another citrusy-masculine scent.

This is the best men's fragrance IMOP- waited a long time to pull the trigger- even ordered sample vials but I'm very happy with the investment. Top notes might be overwhelming for some so a little care is required in its use [read: do not use like a Gillette Deo] but after the initial power notes it settles down to a more smooth and attractive tone.

It's long lasting without being overpowering and most important, it is distinctive and 'special'.

Just to add on here. This is definitely a masculine scent. Longevity and projection is beast on me. I only sprayed one on my arm and i could smell myself to the point that it was already stinging my nostrils lol
just to give you an idea of its strength, this is like Ck escape, it smells nice but can sting your nose in the long run. They're not the same cos the other one is synthetic and aventus smells natural but you guys get the point of the strength and potency comparison. If you're not a collector you can do fine without aventus in your life.

I have gone through 3 bottles of the 4 oz flask of Aventus since 2010. Lets just say that I like it alot and I will continue to wear this until the day I die. It is one of my signature scents that gives me the most compliments because it is people pleasing versatile and the projection and longevity is amazing. I describe it as a fresh blast of pineapple with some apple and woods in the backround and masculine smokiness and i get also a leather vibe as well. Every man should have this in his collection. 10/10

Well said muscle frags. A lot of blah blah and hype about aventus maybe it's the snob value. For me vintage yves saint laurent M7 is the ultimate. No offence intended to anyone.i love Creed original santal.but aventus is very mediocre.

Here is my honest take on this frag, and to help the would be buyers of this. Cos i was curious and bought myself a bottle just to see what the fuss was all about. I dont want to step over the creed fanboys or the fan of this frag but this frag is good but not awesome or the holy grail of fragrances. See what others were saying about the pineapple and smokiness and what they're trying to describe arent really true, at least on my skin and nose. I dont get the natural pineapple smell like what others were describing. I got it the first time i sprayed it but it only lasted 1 to 2 seconds then immediately the whole scent as a whole came up. The smokiness that others described isnt a smell of a smoke, if they meant a note of masculinity or woodsiness then im guessing thats what theyre trying to say. You wont get pineapple here unless you really dig your nose on your skin and find it (but people around you normally wouldnot do that wont they? Lol) i grew up in the Philippines and there's a tropical fruit there called lanzones. When you open that small fruit and break the skin, you will get a sharp citrusy semi sweet aroma and This is what itAventus reminds me of plus some woods added in. Overall this is a nice and pleasing scent but not something that would wow you. If you have money to spend and if you're a collector like myself then go for it but if you're just looking for a fragrance that would make you smell good, there are other cheaper alternatives out there. Im sorry Aventus fans but it didnt take me to the moon just as much as Tom Ford prive blends did on me. Like i said aventus is ok and smells pleasing but this not the best. Sorry mates.

Got a 5ml sample yesterday from the decantShop. This on my skin smells different than on fabric. On my skin, the scent takes a dark turn, it is citrus but a bit spicy and smokey, and longevity and projection is not good. I must say, I wasn't impressed. On clothing however, the scent is light and heavenly, absolutely gorgeous, and lasts longer. It's got that "je-ne-se-quoi" aspect to it that makes my knees weak! Divine! I don't even think it's the notes! If you catch whiffs of it, it will get into your nostrils and do circles inside tingling your olfactory senses. I haven't yet tried the imitations they say are similar to Aventus but I don't expect them to have the same magic even if they get the notes right. As they say, "you might have the moves but not the touch!"

I got a decant of a u02 (smoky) batch to compare it to my sample and I must say, I like the fruity version better. The good news is, the smoke is not predominant when smelled from a distance.

This is without doubt an absolute compliment getter. Girls love it beyond belief and I must agree if I was a girl my legs would buckle too probably.
My main issue as with a lot of people is price. I have a 30 ml decant of this and will stop there I think.
If you want a nearly frag which for me on my first wearing got me 4 compliments from ladies ..no lie.... and is an absolutely wonderful fragrance and 90 % aventus just without the smokiness then that is ADNAN B NOIR. ..END OF!!

Overhyped? Maybe for some people. Overrated? If you think so. Overpriced? It is not cheap. All I know is that I own about 40 flagrances and tried over a hundred but Creed Aventus is the one that gets me the most compliments. By far. That is just the way it is.

Over rated hype train smh. Too many batch varations which creates this buzz for a holy grail batch z01 don't buy into it. It's either fruity or woody. Depends on the batch. Either way it's a nice clean smell of woods fruit and smoke with short projection & sillage.

Yes, This is one of the best fragances that i have ever worn. I´m pissed that it took me so long to find it, even though I have other creed Fragances. Well, the First person that smelled it on me said something like " I Love the way you smell" twice, at the beginning and at the end of the night.

Iconic fragrance, but avoid batch number 15N01. Lasts about 1 hour before turning into a meagre skin scent, even considering the fact that Aventus induces olfactory fatigue. I was lucky enough to get a refund on my 15N01, but for those of you thinking of buying this in the near future, it'd be a good idea to check the batch number beforehand!

monday, I bought my 3de bottle Aventus and a bit dissapointed :-(.. The last one I bought had a delicious pinapple - smokey accord, while the new one is much more smokeyer, wich I don't really like... So the batch thing is true I guess.. I feel kind of ripped of, paying much money and never knowing if you have a good batch...And I don't want to check everytime the Internet for the batch evolutions..

Aventus is a nice scent. Perhaps a bit overrated, but very nice nonetheless. Great compliment getter. I don't obsess over batches. Mine is fine.

I got the 120 ml for about $200 from a major department store. I recommend that you only purchase any fragrance from an official retailer (department store, directly from vendor, boutique etc). I am not in the business of receiving fakes,.

For the life of me, I don't know why this fragrance gets so much attention. It goes on smelling of pineapple - and if you're lucky you also get a smoke note. I did with a previous sample but I didn't with the present sample. I guess this is what's at the heart of the whole Aventus batch variation controversy.

At any rate, on me it dries down to a boring sweet/fruity thing. Also, it doesn't last. And it doesn't seem to project.

I'm convinced, when it comes to nude emperors, this is the one with its junk hanging out.

Aventus IS one helluva GREAT men's fragrance ! OHMAGAD.

The first time I was exposed to it, I didn't think so much about it.
Then when I took a sample home with a little sample of GIT, I sprayed a little bit of Aventus on my linens and I was going back in my room all day...

The smell is addicting... Then every time I would get stuck in traffic, I would bring out the bottle from my purse and sniff the sprayer and it gives me a feeling that gets me so excited, I have to look sideways if anyone was watching.

All my men friends who I sampled this fragrance to ended up purchasing a bottle. Never mind the price. It is all about smelling nice and great.

Aventus is long-lasting.

On the outside looking in, Aventus seems like the best fragrance, based on all the hype and reviews. Despite all the numerous batch variations, you're still compelled to get your hands on this cologne. However, once I bought it, it didn't live up to all the hype. Whats more frustrating about this fragrance is that there's no definite way to know if your experience was the same as other reviewers, due to all the batch differences. I did get a very juicy and natural pineapple, with campfire smoke, and light woods that are pleasant, but slightly too mature. While some will say differences between them all are slight, and mostly detectible by trained noses, there's still a inbalance between quality, and brand of the product. With all of this going on, incorporate the price tag, and I don't feel it's worth it. Not because of the high price solely, but for that much I better be getting a bottle that says panty dropper as an active ingredient. Inoffensive cologne though, professional would be an understatement.

I definitely confirm that there are batch variation. As many said, it's a shame ! I like to be sure the perfume I will buy will be the same as the perfume I liked. And those batch variations seems to be huge in some cases. Hopefully, the new bottle I bought is better than the previous one, but noticeably different ! But I repeat that's a shame from Creed...

However, my new batch is a monster ! The most complimented fragrance I had !

All these batch variations sounds crazy. I have considered buying aventus and original santal by Creed but don't want to spend so much and end.up with a dud batch. How does such a company allow this to happen. Makes no sense at all.

That aside my review is based on my full bottle (14F01) and sample vial (14L01).
The longevity of the full bottle is monstrous 10 hours any given time but its much more smoky, the vial is much sweeter cause of the pineapple but longevity varies, sometimes 6 sometimes 8. Overall i'd say its a mighty fine perfume, if i were a cat this would be catnip for me lol

My guess is that it has a lot of to do with a culture you're from. In some cultures people are more outspoken and speak their mind freely in others they're more private I'd say.

I have the best house, the most expensive ones but never have i got a single compliment who said i am smelling good. Only and only if i take my hand towards them or make them smell my clothes do i get their reviews wthr the fragrance good bad or excellent. I dont know the reason. I think alot of people in here lie when they say they get complimented

I wore this yesterday and OMFG(oh-em-fuckin'-gee!), Best fruit scent ever! It has niche quality with massive mass appeal, for once, I can forget about the price, thanks Creed. That being said, why can't I find anything remotely close to the tone/quality of Aventus anywhere else? Anyhow, I love it and thinking of getting a second bottle.

Edit: and I did! Btw, there's a guy named 'aventuscreed17oz' on fragrantica.ru. He seems to know all about the batches. I don't know what I'm doing, I'd like to try the smokiest one though, man can dream. :)

I really can't say anything that hasn't already been well said. . ..so I'll just offer my opinion. ..

I feel like the wildly different batch qualities is a really good reflection of how fresh, volatile and REAL the ingredients are for this. As in nature, you can't always predict how grown things will taste, look or smell.

The largest note that I notice, and stays, is the awesome pineapple with an underlying smoky-leather feel. It's a very crisp fragrance, that's what i like most about it, and honestly that's what I personally think draws the attention and for some, the compliments.

Absolutely wonderful. A man's man scent. 10/10 for me, totally bewildered and enthralled by this stuff. Can't stop smelling my wrist!!!

Aventus is the wild younger brother of Green Irish Tweed. GIT is the buttoned up older brother that is perfectly fitted with a business suit. Aventus is what you wear to a backyard cookout or just hanging out. It is perfectly smoked pineapple musky goodness.

aventus deo:
the container is pure white with a sticker on the back with the logo "aventus". obviously all deodorants shares the same white container with the silver cup. the stick inside is also white. the gel is silky and smooth. slides on the arm pit even, if it's hairy, like cotton. one slide is enough. when you re sweating a cream comes out that not stains the clothes. it's really effective. lasts all day even after work out. and of course smells like the parfume but more faint. best deo ever.

aventus soap:
nice creamy soap that produces light foam and smells soooo nice. the soap is better than the shower gel. smells more and cleans better. the combination of deo, soap and one apply of of the parfume are what you need to totally smell aventus on your neck and clothes all day.

both deo and soap are rather expensive but are perfect for not mixing different parfume, shower soap and deo, with the Creeds way. discrete and classy.

My review is based on a sample of L01 and a bottle of P02.

Are there batch inconsistency? Yes, but only for first few minutes, and the differences are not dramatic.

It starts with smoky pineapple, which last for few minutes and become dry woody mossy scent. It remains as this woody mossy scent for few hours till it gradually disappears from my skin.

Many people would find the scent pleasant and versatile. But, if you don’t like birch (woody) note, you might not like the scent.

Because it is not cheap, if you are considering to get a bottle of it, I personally recommend to try it first.

Is it worth the hype? Yes, it seems many people really love this scent. It however does not mean everyone loves it.

Is it worth the price? This would be subjective. I can see, for many, the price does not justify the value.

Hope I will not offend anybody who loves or hates Aventus, but I am only going to share my thoughts on this.. So I have tried this on, and I thought it is a lovely smell, so many others are, it is not something I would instantly fall in love. So why I should get Aventus? As it is believed to get enormous amount compliments, and that is a good sign of a great cologne, if it's not good, people would not be bothered to tell you smell great. SO I believe it's a great scent. But what inconsistent and unacceptable is this, "different batches excuse". I do not consider myself a fragrance expert but I have been wearing cologne since school days(typically splashing dad's after shave). So I do understand all this reformulation business, and so on.. fragrance may very, but from the House of Creed, which is supposedly one of the best perfumery I find it highly disappointing. Although Creed's colognes are generally fresh, and high quality, no doubt about that, and there are people truly adore and swear by Aventus, but sorry to say I will not agree that Aventus is something like and emperor of all fragrance. There are people who has 100s of fragrance including niche and they find Azzaro Chrome is one of their absolute favourite, so I completely understand people who love Aventus for the smell, or uniqueness, but if you tend to be wanting Aventus just for all these talks, and and experience people had with it, test yourself first, not once but few times and then follow your instinct.

Now good bit about Aventus, well it's a project monster, unlike other project monster are generally spicy or sweet, and fresh cologne either too sharp or close to skin, and lack of longevity. But Aventus is a quality cologne that have the right balance, and incredibly long lasting, head turner, and project, and it has strong silage, you literally leave your scent trail even after you leave the space. And if you compare Aventus with Creed's other cologne, they are nicer smelling than Aventus IMHO, but Aventus is more masculine, and that makes it one of the best fresh cologne out there.

It is pricey but when you purchase a product, especially if that is in your hobbies, do not consider price tag reflect your decision, but follow your passion, if you love this go for it.

Can the entirety of the fragrance community be wrong when they almost universally proclaim a scent a masterpiece? Of course they can. But with Aventus, they are not. I purchased a decant last year, and I don't think I ever wore it without getting at least one compliment. So I finally purchased a full bottle. I don't think there is anything else on the market similar to it. Yes, it has a fruity, smoky scent that in itself is exquisite. But for me, it's the whole rather than the parts that make the fragrance. It reminds me of Platinum Egoiste, not in the notes but in the general impression. It reeks of confidence. Yes, it's expensive, but it's worth every penny. And if you're a serious collector, it's a must own. They hype is real, and it's true.

To be honest it took me quite a long time to grow to this one, it wasn't a love at sight fragrance. Now it is my number one fragrance by a mile and is the only niche fragrance I can think of worthy of the huge price tag. Aventus smells great, performs well, gets compliments left right and center and is extremely versatile. Creed Aventus, best fragrance in the world!

Vintage Drakkar Noir leather base with pinapple. Absolutely fantastic.

Another miss, although from the talk of inconsistent batches that might change. With what I have (a decant) it is just pineapple, nothing else. It is a very pleasant scent in itself, I like the smell of pineapples, but not on me. I just don't see the appeal of smelling like a piece of fruit. Oh well, saves me some money, I guess.

This one is worth the hype. Best stuff out there. I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said, except I agree. Its awesome stuff. Unfortunately, its way to expensive. Is any fragrance worth this cost. No. Not for me. Lots of awesome fragrances for under 100 bucks, so I wouldn't ever justify buying an entire bottle of this stuff. Its nice to have a decent size decant for some special occasions though. Oh yeah, and don't get any of the dupes. This stuff is EDP strength for a reason. That pineapple note needs some major concentration to last, that's why this is EDP and the pineapple note lasts. If you find a worthy dupe at EDP strength, it may be worth it, but all the EDT strength dupes i've tried only last for a meager amount of time. This stuff is hard to replicate for that very reason I think. There isn't anything I've found that does the job this does with the same notes............Special occasion scent.

aventus shower gel.
well I got this just a few days before as a gift. the person who gave it to me knew that I use aventus perfume. first surprise: the cup shown in creeds site is not that but a simple flipping white cup. the product was purchased on line from a famous German site. (I'm mentioning this to avoid maybe fake products from eBay). the price was 50 euro instead of 70 pounds in Creeds webstore. I was very curious to use this. the composition is thick but weak. no foam at all. I had to apply again and again. the scent is the well known aventus, more fruity maybe.
but..... even I was hopping to experience the most luxurious shower in the world nothing like that happened. it's not even a typical shower gel. produces no foam at all, smells very lightly and ... that's all. well ok it cleans the body...
for the most expensive shower gel in the world this one is the most disappointing. I used many other design shower gels, costing about 20 euro, with nice rich foam and hydrating effect and mostly to fill the bathroom with their smell. Also my clothes smell nice.
don't buy this creeds shower gel. it's way too expensive. I understand that Creed is a high end company but waste of money have limits.

So I'm currently wearing this one and usually I try to wait till the end of it to give a thorough review of it but had to give my two cents now.

When I first wore it, initially, the picture I got was a barber shop. A Barber shop set in like the 1920's, the days of the fedora hats and pin stripe suits.

I do not know why but that is the image I got when smelling this.

It has this pineapple, talc mix to it, fresh like again, you've just gotten a haircut but because of this unique mix, it doesn't overdue it on the barbershop talc smell.

This is a fresh, polished, clean scent that is definitely a spring/summertime smell to it, for a person who wants to smell like they look... rich, not a snobby rich but a nice rich :D

Definitely one to check out, I enjoy this one, not just because of the smell, but because of it's uniqueness and the picture it painted for me when smelling this.

I need some help, i bought a almost extinct batch of creed here in oman, the c01 batch..it is awesome, my dad fell in love with it, started using it. so i decided to go to dubai and buy the M01 batch (they are selling this everywhere, duty free and stuff). Even the dubai mall staff suggested it was the best batch seller, bought it.. smells more smokey…but fabulous!…i just wanna know if anyone out there has this latest batch and what do they think about it over all….please help a guy out! The c01 batch lasted quite a long time, the m01 batch maybe not as much in my opinion unless olfactory fatigue was in the works..just need some info.

Just bought another bottle yesterday and although I do like this scent a lot, for me it's not to die for. However, I enjoy it because I love the feedback and wow factor I get from it randomly, especially the compliments. Sometimes I can see a look in a persons face when they know they smell something amazing, then pause and finally garner up the balls to ask, "wow what are you wearing". So for me, it's a lovely scent but I kno when I wear it, it's a win-win situation.

I remebered when i was about to buy a fragrance from a perfume shop and i was looking for a fresh scent that will be my signature scent. I have bleu de chanel, versace pour homme, giorgio armani essenzaand ysl l'homme libre. Im used to all these fresh scent and they are all great . Thought everything fresh scent wouldn't surprise me already. Only 2 fresh scent amazed me to almost disbelief. Prada infusion d'homme shocked me and creed aventus. They both are the best and both of them have excellent sillage, projection and longevity. The best scent ever these two. :)

.....ok my friends. you were right. there are different batches indeed. I tried many samples and they are all different. I noticed two main types. the one with the more fruity and the other one with the more smokey direction. tested em for weeks now. although the differences are only in the opening. after 10 minutes the projection is the same. 2 sprays are enough for a whole day. whatever you are smelling (pineapple or smoke or apple) other people smell soap, cleanliness, fresh washed linen and finally a sexy man.

verdict:
aventus is a masterpiece. masculine and classy. women adore it. from time to time female colleagues turn again and again to my neck to smell me.

The pineapple and musk in this fragrance is to die for indeed. However, the birch is a little off-putting. But even that is not a problem. The biggest problem is, that after 10-20 minutes I can't notice the fragrance anymore. For the rest of the day the fragrance is unknown for my nose. I wan't to enjoy i my self, its not intended for the past by walkers! I even noticed that by the end of the day i have breathing trouble do this this fragrance. It must be some of the new aroma chemicals they have used. I even tried two different bottles, so i really had to let this creation pass.

This fragrance is very tricky for me.
First I like the smell:smokey pineapple, very long logevity and huge projection even I can't smell it because Aventus is one those fragrances of nose fatigue. I would give it a B+ but to be honest ...this is not of what I would wear most of the time.

Anyway, I know the cost of production for a single bottle of this would not run north of $100. Not even $50. People are so gullible. *sigh* I like it just fine, it's worth having. But not at those exorbitant prices!! I would NEVER pay $200 for it.

I hardly never go a day without getting a compliment when I'm wearing this, an absolute crowd pleaser , great longevity and projection too.

It's good, but totally not worth the hype. I could see 100$ for 3.4 but 250$? Theres better alternatives that fit the bill. Nice scent though, good longevity.

Joking aside, "Aventus" really doesn't live up to the hype. I've smelled hundreds of perfumes in the last few years, from mall brands to some very exclusive and absurdly priced niche ones and even natural vegan perfumes. In that time I've come across scents that are so rich, so multi-dimensional, so full of texture they have literally reinvented the way I smell and judge perfume. "Aventus" is not one of those scents. In fact, smelling it today was like taking a few steps back in my perfume education; This is something I would have liked to have worn when I was a teenager, but now I find it too generic.

There are hundreds of perfumes just like Aventus. Walk behind a well-dressed man on the street and you will usually find yourself in a trail of transparent, ozonic woodiness with a hint of fruits, and that's exactly what Aventus smells like. Tangy, sweet fruit and synthetic wood that ends up smelling predictably of dusty pencil shavings after a few hours. Pleasant enough, fresh, inoffensive, but worthy of the insane price tag? Worthy of the mass gushing appraisal? In my opinion, no.

I try to avoid calling a perfume "over-rated" but in this instance it is quite apt.

Why do a lot of people like this one? Because of the following;

Versatile
Long lasting
Nice fruity, smokey scent

Above all, girls LOVE it!

A quick comparison of Aventus and it's "clones" worth mentioning that I've gotten around to smelling.

Creed Aventus ($240-350 USD for a 4oz spray bottle):
What I like: QUALITY stuff, amazing scent, refined smokiness, and VERSATILE as heck.
The bad: Price-point :(((

Afnan Supremacy Silver (Approx. $80 USD on eBay):
After the first 5 minutes of intense alcohol, it is BY FAR the closest thing you will find scent wise to Aventus.

Lomani AB Silver ($20 USD):
A REALLY nice fruity and smoky summer frag. Several nuances in the dry down DO remind me of Aventus from time to time. I really like this one. I will be purchasing a second bottle soon.

Glenn Perri Unpredictable Adventure ($17 USD) :
A stale yet sweet vanilla with a thick and heavy ashy note. The ashy note does remind me of that of Aventus but without the quality. A distasteful mess. PASS!

Insurrection Pure ($25 USD): Smells like Aventus but lacks the quality, vibrancy and fruitiness that makes Creed Aventus good. Stale and lifeless to my nose (though a great crowd pleaser).

Magnificant fragrance....beautiful, fresh, clean, elegant, and high class......12/10 in all aspects except for the price...a beautiful smokey pineapple fragrance which i have yet to experience in any other fragrance....Extremely expensive and very difficult to find at a discounted price...MSRP $350 for the 4 0z bottle...However, in terms of appeal, still highly recommended if willing to spend more money than your average fragrance

I was early to Aventus; back in 2010. Last year, while on a trip to Germany, I was introduced to Tierra del Fuego by La Martina.
I ask that you look at the notes [lets say identical]. As for the scent . . .also IDENTICAL . . .but, the reflection is to an earlier/smokey Aventus.
I have no doubt this will upset some on this site. I am also sure many will doubt me. I have experienced both. I know what my experience was [and my surprise]. I have no doubt in a blind "scent off", not a one would be able to pick a difference.
Try them side by side and make up your own mind.

For those who have experienced other fragrances by La Martina . . .you know the quality is there.

I own Aventus, Lomani AB Spirit Silver and Reyane Insurrection II Pure. The original is, as many have said, the best of the three. No surprise there. However, between the "imitators", Insurrection II is easily the winner here. The Lomani still smells nice, but is definitely more synthetic, has poorer staying power, and is more "smoky/musty" than the Insurrection II. Insurrection II is brighter, sweeter, and more natural smelling (very close, but still not as good as Aventus itself). I also get 8-10 hours of longevity, which is better than the 4-6 I get from Lomani. If you have to pick, go with the Insurrection II Pure, without even thinking twice. Since we're talking imitations, I also recommend the imitation perfume oil from Hayward Enterprises. It's also pretty close to the original, far closer than Lomani is, and it's pretty cheap too. Lasting power is also about 10 hours, but sillage is more reserved as it's an oil and not an EDT/EDP. I have not smelled any of the other clones, including Fresco, Unpredictable Adventure, Mancera Cedrat Boise or Afnan Supremacy Silver, so I can't comment on those.

It's a similar deal with Creed Royal Oud and Lomani Intense Black, both of which I also own. The Creed is hands-down the winner, with the Lomani coming in a distant second. Intense black still smells nice (decent lasting power too), and I can see where they were trying to go with it as an imitation of RO, but it's more of an "impression" of the original than a close replica. Same goes for the Hayward oil on this one. While nice-smelling (and closer to RO than Lomani is), it still should be approached as more of an "impression" than an attempt at copying.

Insurrection 2 hands down.

It's all abou the batchs.

Mans, I got a sample if a smoky notes, AMAZING, the open reminds me sweet groselha with smoky tuscan leahter. DOPE. but its fresh not deep like TF, and makes me happy. The dry is like a cold smoky fahrenheit azzaro oil, amazing blend, fresh gentleman... SMOKE ON THE WATER.

Try this, masterpiece anyway, doesnt matter has apple or pineapple, the smoke is the way!

If i could only wear one fragrance for the rest of my life, for me at this time, Aventus would be it. This is by far the most complemented fragrance i own. I don't wear this as often as i should because of cost per spray but when i do I smell like a million bucks. My only complaint is that i wish it was in a solid colored bottle like GIT so i couldn't see this wonderful juice depleting from my collection.

What a great fragrance. For me it's the very best by far from any other fragrances. It opens with a wonderful smell of wealth and style. I truely gets a lot of compliments when I wear it. Longevity is wonderful (above 10 h)and projection is great too. Strong but not too much. Definitely noticeable (please be careful not to put too much on you. 2-3 sprays will be enough). The main downfall is the price… but truly if you want the best and you can afford it - buy it. I can promise you - You will never regret it.

Heaaaaavily reformulated. Smelled it a few years ago and said to myself, wow this is some delicious pineapple and the drydown, which came after the 4 hours mark, was a smoky, woody, semi sweet magnet.
Tried again and at different stores and an online sample this year because I just couldn't believe how different this was from what I smelled. No pineapple, no apples, strong old school bergamota and flowers, very lineal and soapy that never seems to get to the drydown.
What a disappointment. This is absolutely not the same fragrance they released in 2010 and this is coming from someone who has liked and knows about perfume for more than 10 years.

update after 1 month of using it:
even if I m in love with the pineapple and apple notes and I smell them mostly, other people smell soap and something like you just had a refreshing shower.
keep in mind that. they don't smell smoky notes or all the other notes we re talking about in this forum

For those that don't know this already...every cologne will smell different on us because our body chemistry is not the same. I always wanted to give ADG a good try on my skin but sadly it smells horrible on my skin even though it smells great on my brother. That is why sampling is so important before buying a bottle of cologne. I used to buy colognes just by the great ratings and good reviews. I had to give away 3 bottles of some great juice because they smelled weird on my skin. I then sampled a few colognes that had mixed reviews and even some of the bad review ones smelled great on my skin. From then on I sample a few times before making a decision to buy a full bottle. It took me three 5 ml samples to finally decide to buy a full bottle of Aventus. All 3 were different batches (E01, Z01, G01). I got to experience the Full on smoky batch as well as the pineapple batch. This juice smells great on me and it mixes well with my chemistry. As far as longevity goes my skin is some what naturally moisten but I use fragrance free lotion to help with that. Actually everything I use is fragrance free. You do not want other smells mixing with the fragrance. My deodorant, soap, laundry detergent, lotion, everything is fragrance free. 1 spray to the chest will last me 6 to 8 hours and the projection is good. 2 sprays (one spray to each side of my neck) will last me the same but projects better. 4 sprays (1 to each side of neck, 1 to the chest, and one to the head) is beast mode for me. Over 24 hr longevity and I get monster projection. I try to mix the sprays around too. Sometimes I do 2 to the neck and 1 on each wrist. Sometimes I do 1 on each wrist and 1 to the chest. It all depends on the occasion. Indoors 1 to 2 max.

I was snobbish about Aventus without trying it. Silly, I know, but I just hate Creed's outrageous prices, poor longevity and all the invented stories, even if I like some female ones
There was never a tester around to see what all the fuss is about.
Then I found a tester (don't know about batches) and tried it. Wow! I liked it! Yes, it smells pine-apple at first, but not in fruity way and that's all. I was intrigued by the smoky woods edge, something that smelled very balanced together with pine-apple. In my book I see this as totally masculin, but everybody wears whatever they like.
Very enticing and aromatic. Anyway there's no way I'll buy some for my bf, because of the crazy price and he's not into perfumes anyway.
A few days later I spotted a very good dupe at 50 euro /100 ml with a better longevity.

If you are looking for a good alternative of Aventus with a very cheap price, you should try ( Rasasi code 9325) from the house of rasasi.Very similar with a good quality.The only negative point is the longevity which i also face it with Aventus but with Rasasi code i could decant and reapply it freely because of its cheep price ;-)

Just a point on this last comment....

I have purchased a 14A01 batch in Dubai within the last six months and it has very good longevity and projection. It is more on the apple/pineapple/fruity side of the Aventus spectrum, but it is very appealing.

Because of the nature of Creed's global distribution channels and the grey market that is being served, I would strongly recommend that you try to sample from the exact bottle you intend to purchase. I know this is far from ideal but such is the nature of this fragrance and the subjective nature of how it appeals. Vendors in Dubai are very generous about allowing you sample on the skin and walking out to spend some time with the fragrance. If it does not appeal or perform, don't go back. Their returns policies upon purchase are very good too - and I have returned fragrances long after purchase, though this has been because of malfunctioning sprayers (rare and not Creed).

If your juice is changing colour (going green!), I would suggest you immediately bring it back to the vendor and demand a refund. Mind you, for all the debate about Aventus, this is the first I have ever heard about a colour change in the juice. This seems very peculiar.

Furthermore, there is a comment earlier from someone who has seen two different sprayers on Aventus bottles in the duty free in Dubai and has raised questions over this. Be aware that Creed has changed its Aventus sprayers in the last year or so and there have been alterations in the design and functionality in this time. This has included removing the ball-bearing from the sprayer tube and altering to a spray which is supposedly less voluminous. Nothing to get too worried about as it is not entirely unusual for Creed (or any other fragrance manufacturer) to alter their production features. With Creed this may actually happen even within a batch. (Wow, I think I need to write a research paper on this.)

Lastly, if you want to entirely avoid the grey market in Dubai, go to the Creed boutique in Dubai Mall. They have wonderful staff and are very helpful, though you will be paying more.

I must get around to actually reviewing this wonderful fragrance one of these days, but at the moment it looks like the Emperor needs some defending.....

Edit 6 June, 2015: Without doubt Aventus is a fragrance that improves and gets richer/more complex as you use more of the bottle. I have noted this in many fragrances before, but in Aventus this aspect seems to be much more pronounced. It seems that any oxidation happening from the headspace in the bottle adds considerably to the fragrance.

This could well be one of the reasons behind a lot of the batch variation talk. A lot will depend on whether you spray from a sample or a bottle and how much aeration has occurred in time.

Its near ten months that the quality of this perfume is getting down in middle east T the color of liqued is going to green ... even sillage and longevity is poor ... why ?

Beside it is a respected and famouse juice for reason so I just would like to share an odd experience with you guys which I encountered last Thuesday when I was back on my way home from Thailand at Dubai duty free. To make a long history short, If you happened to stop by Dubai duty free and do buy Creed Aventus so be extra aware!!! There are 2 different type of Aventus that I noticed for same price tag 350$!! The one with batch number, Creed logo on top of the spray, the sprayer itself is taller, and of course the characteristically squirt when you press the trigger. And the other one (real vs fake) no batch number, shorter sprayer, no Creed logo on the sprayer and no squirt at all! I might be wrong about the latter one but if anyone of you guys have a clue just shoot, please! Cheers

But, Does it Smell Good?... I think Imperiale is more popular and also Terre Hermes. Both smell Great!! Just Like the BMW, anybody can drive a BMW, but that doesnt make it a bad Car.... Just popular.

If you are a perfumery that charges a premium price for a product, it damn well better be excellent and consistent every time. What is up with these inconsistent batches? This batch is better than that batch blah, blah, blah.

I understand people shell out more cash than they should for Creed but I think that has to do with the feeling of success and saying you had enough extra cash to spend on a fragrance even though it's subpar.

I know, I know, you love it, everyone gives you compliments, your wife and best friend adore it; "everyone thinks you smell good". Well maybe you got lucky and got a "good batch". That is still not a justified reason to denounce all the other issues, not only with this fragrance but with the Creed line.

The facts: Most people realize that this and other Creed fragrances don't last longer than a body spray if you're lucky. If this is such a great fragrance/ house, why is it clearly subjected to ridicule for longevity and quality issues more than others?

Surely it has to be good, I mean you did pay any where from $450-200 for a bottle that may be a good batch or may not, but who cares it smells good because it has to after you spent that much, right?

I don't know what are you talking about batses but I tested a card vial and I ordered a full bottle and I have to say that this is a beast. two sprays last 24 hours. even after shower the scent stays on the the skin. the sillage is great. one spray is enough for a whole day. quite everyone asks what this smell is. the women love it. it's elegant fresh and unique. still surprised why it took me so long to discover this. after 3 years of using Amber oud by kilian, aventus is suitable for all seasons. it's very pricy although but it worths it. thanks creed!!!!

Overrated, over-hyped, and over-priced.

I'm not saying everyone who enjoys Aventus is this way, but I believe most of the hype surrounding Aventus is the cost of the fragrance. Spending hundreds of dollars is supposedly "brag" worthy, I guess. It's a shame that people believe cost = quality. That's not always the case ESPECIALLY when it comes to fragrances and perfumery.

Aventus is an ashy, bitter, musk cloud with heavy cat-piss/cat-urine accords (thanks to black currant + pineapple combo!).

I remember inquiring about fruity fragrances way back in 2013 and multiple people had the audacity to recommend Aventus. Aventus is not fruity by any stretch. There is an occasional wisp of a super sweet pineapple note but it mostly contributes to the cat-urine accord that dominates Aventus along with the bitter ash accord.

Calling Aventus a "fruity fragrance" because of one submissive note is like calling Acqua di Gio an "amber/balsamic fragrance" because it has amber in the basenotes.

Try before you buy! If you genuinely like it (cost and popularity aside), congratulations!

Creed Aventus has been a real adventure in my case. It has been my first footfall - my first "giant step", let say - into the niche. The step has been successful, I can not complain.
At the time being, I am exploring the niche, and coming across extensive areas beyond Aventus...

I have to do him justice. He has been my porter, my qualifier, my "ciccerone". The journey is not ended. After all, Aventus has unfettered me, in a way.

Frankly speaking, I like the scent. I respect it. Regrettably, I don't want to continue my acquaintance with him. Sorry, Man!

For me it conjures up images of sun, summer, salt water,boats, tar and an umbrella drink with pineapple juice.

For some reason, the smell of Aventus makes me sick. It has good staying power and projection. Smells kind of familiar and kind of old school.

I am on my second bottle of this gem . Excellent for all year round.

I have never written a review before and if i'm completely honest i can't say i am a master or that my nose can pick out every note in colognes, but i love a fragrance and am very passionate about scents and just had to write about Aventus.

The very first time i smelt this was about 3 years ago on a customer that came in my shop, My mind was like "OH MY GOD THIS BLOKE SMELLS INCREDIBLE?!" he smelt of money, but it was a smell i'd never encountered. After debating weather or not to ask another guy (that i was serving) what Fragrance he is wearing i decided i better had because i need to have it! When he told me Creed i was like "Creed!?" "Like the boxer in Rocky 4?!" when he left the shop i jumped straight online and checked out this so called Creed…….. Price……….. I was gob smacked at the price, i was like WHAT!!!!!!!!!? but i had to have it.

so, here i am, i own a bottle of Creed Aventus and it's 100% my favourite fragrance in my collection. It's simply incredible, on my skin It goes on this intriguing magical journey of transition Like David Bowie's style throughout the years, opening with a Fruity burst of Pineapple and drying down to a smoky intriguing bombshell. It lasts ages and the sprayer itself is amazing, you get a lot of juice out of one spray.

Aventus is classy and draws attention, like many others have said on here, its a compliment getter. Don't get me wrong, I don't get chased up the street by beautiful women (That only happens when wearing Lynx Java) but out of all my fragrances this one is the master. Its classy, its amazing and i am so glad i asked that bloke what he was wearing 3 years ago.

So I went to Selfridges and bought another bottle as I wanted to try a different batch which I found to the last one I returned to the shop. 30ml bottle batch number A42C1L01 and I can confirm this is a better batch last about 8 hours on cloths and about 6 hours on skin and projects ok.

Smells different every time I smell a different batch. What a joke.

I have three different bottles of Aventus and without doubt there are differences in the batch variations which affect the opening, sillage and longevity. The smokier batch gets me a lot of attention and goes for hours and hours come wind, rain or shine, whilst the other two can be hit and miss although I’ll still get at least 12 hours. I own around 150 odd bottles of niche and designer fragrances and this is the only one which draws in the relentless compliments- I’ve even been followed down corridors at work by random women! In fact I’ve easily had more compliments from Aventus alone than all my others combined. I know some people are put off by the price but think of it this way- you get a brilliant fragrance which lasts all day, which you know smells good, which the person 6-10 feet away knows smells good, it is very versatile and the price tag keeps you from not smelling like the bloke next to you? There are some alternatives and I have both Cedrat Bois by Mancera and Royal Vintage by M Micallef which are both nice in their own right but neither really smells like Aventus although both have slight resemblances.

Scent: 9.5/10- fresh, fruity, slightly floral, smoky and leather. Masculine and adored by women.

Longevity: 9.5/10- on clothes it would be an easy 10- stays on as though you had just sprayed it. I get 10 hours on skin.

Sillage: 9.5/10- people know I’ve walked through a hallway 5 minutes ago and that’s from just 2 sprays which were applied 3 hours prior!

Versatility: 8.5- very good but there are better fragrances to go for in the cooler months. Aventus really does its damage in the summer when the heat is there.

I guess so. Really strange cause the sample I got from scentsamples 3 sprays lasted all day. Yet a retail purchase from a respected Retailer and I'm left disapointed..

So glad i didn't buy it direct from Creed otherwise all the hassel of posting it back ect.. Ive done a little research and have found the earlier production of creed Aventus were the best (Batch Numbers) but were going back about 3 years ago..

It's like they are watering the product down or have become very inconsistent in production and seen as Aventus is pretty much a new fragrance you have to suspect Creed are cutting corners to make an Extra $buck.

Simply shouldn't be happening for a company of Creeds reputation really.

We can all go out and buy Paco Rabanne Black XS for £30/$38 and be guaranteed an absolute sillage Bomb yet a £215 of Creed and you don't know what your getting and more or less have to hope you can find one that's been on the shelf for 2 years when the quality was good..

To me, Creed frags all possess wonderful scents, just none that seem suitable for skin. Aventus is the closest they've come to making a scent that makes sense to wear, hence the popularity.

I got a huge burst of pineapple with some tanginess to it. Once settled, the smoke and birch start to come out to play. It is quite nice and simple. Exactly what you'd expect after tormenting yourself with hundreds of reviews before parting with too large a sum of money to play with this hype bomb.

This frag projects strongly and has a lengthy longevity, which to me is actually its downfall. For a fragrance this rich and loud, I find myself trying to scrub away the ostentatiousness by morning. Aventus would be best enjoyed on occasion; shame that you can only find good deals on the 4 oz bottles.

Buy yourself a decant and move on, you will find no signature scent here.

After the sample I bought the full bottle (75ml) from Jown Lewis and i have to say I'm pretty let down it doesn't last no more then 3 hours. I had to return it and tell them im not paying £150 for a frag that doesn't last. they took it back tho.

Never have I smelled a fragrance that I thought could go well in absolutely every occasion. Not only that, but it smells like a high quality fragrance. It smells like very natural and high quality ingredients are used.

This fragrance is a versatility beast. With the pineapple, it is playful enough for casual occasions. With the woody notes and the very natural smell, it is classy enough for formal occasions. It has the strength to power through winter, and the natural fresh fruitiness to go through summer.

I don't know much about the batch number differences. I first smelled aventus from a 1ml decant. It smelled like pineapple from beginning to end. I then bought a bottle and it opened very sharp and smokey then dried back down to that delicious pineapple.

This is my most complimented fragrance. The first day I wore it from the 1ml sample, I got several complements. This may also be my best performing fragrance. Projection, sillage, longevity are all excellent. This is a perfect 10/10 for me.

Here's Why:
The only thing stopping this scent from being a perfect 10/10 is the variables in purchasing a new bottle and the amount of differences between each of the three bottles I've had.
No need to go over the notes, they're SPECTACULAR and this is in my top 5 all time best wears.
However, each of my 3 bottles has smelt different. always of the same accord but different. My first one was slightly musky and damp smelling in the dry-down, my second bottle was out of control sweet for the first hour or so (then died into that wonderful blend), and my most recent bottle was a total PINEAPPLE BOMB! I know that sounds so strange, but I've bought all of my bottles at SCP Nordstroms, and this most recent buy is the strangest thing i've ever smelt!
It's like Aventus, with 100 pounds of pineapple pulp poured into the top notes.
At the end of the day it also dies down into the lovely aventus fragrance, but its strange to me that there have been such drastic changes in the formula here.

Based on the msg's sent to my inbox, it seems a lot of people are experiencing trouble with the different purchases of this. Some people are getting very weak Parfum, some are getting very strong notes while some go by the wayside.
Look's like popularity was the undoing for this one.
Creed appears to be cutting corners with the newer bottles of this. what a shame!

This is an absolutely BRILLIANT effort from Creed. Admittedly, I'm a devotee of the Creed collection (though there are a few horses in that stable that really turn me off -- Virgin Island Water, for one), but even the objective sniffer in me is in love with Aventus. I don't find the fruit too forward; there's certainly a very sweet opening, but the leather comes through powerfully and lasts all day. A buddy of mine likes to say it smells like a rich guy's wallet, and it kinda does.

To me the entire fragrance collection journey has been about finding this gem. THe compliments Aventus generates are all about the wow factor. The smell of Aventus is a combination of a smoked pineapple with apple leather and birch. The scent is fresh and fruity but in a masculine way. To me it is the master piece of the creed house that can change the way you look at parfum.

After seeing the reviews on Creed - Aventus I really wanted to try it but was a little shocked at it's price tag which just made me wanting to try it even more.

I got a sample from scentsamples.uk.com (Great Site) for a small fee. And i have to admit I am totally blown away by this EDT easily the best Ive come across yet, smells so Classy & Rich you feel above everybody else with this, it's like a drive of confidence everybody was right on here when they said it's a game changer.

Not everybody can afford this type of luxury so it's unique. I will be purchasing a full bottle pronto.

Mrs asked me what i wanted for a present one birthday and i said surprise me with a fragrance. She came back with this and i was like "OK". Only 10% familiar with the Creed brand at the time and i did not think much of it but knew it was something special due to its presentation.

When i finally got round to trying it i was simply blown away! Smelt amazing and not like anything i had before. The Fruity, woody and smokey accords are a perfect blend for my special occasions. On me the Fruity and Woody accords are always there but inter change with the smokey accord.

When i put this on it is the final touch to an outfit and makes me feel like Superman! Has great projection and longevity.

Creed´s Aventus is an incredible masculine perfume with ingredients based on the life of emperor Napoleon. This is perhaps the most talked, most hyped and most popular fragrance in the high-end/niche category.

Of course this popularity and hype made me – as a fragrance lover – curious to smell Aventus by myself. The first time I did that, I really liked it. It was a great fruity fresh scent with a masculine rough touch that made it unique. After buying the travel size and wearing it the first few times, I realized how strong this stuff was and that this powerhouse was capable of garnering some great compliments. However, as time went by I was slowly thinking that this perfume was overrated. It had a very high quality and I enjoyed wearing it, especially when I got the fruity waves from time to time, but was it that spectacular that it deserved all this hype? The answer is yes and came when a friend wore the same Aventus.

Only when smelling Aventus on another person, I was aware of the absolutely spectacular masculine aura of smoke and fruits. And no, unlike many other fragrances, you cannot smell this aura directly from the bottle, a piece of paper or spraying it on your own wrists. As a wearer I was aware that it smelled very good and unique, but not that it was this astonishing. So if you really want to experience the effect of Aventus, I recommend you to spray it on another person to experience this phenomenal smoky fruity sillage that it leaves. This will make you love it(even) more.

During the last months I smelled Aventus in different countries and stores when I was in a perfumery, as I wanted to know whether the batches could vary considerably from each other. My experience was that my single travel size bottle was also smelling slightly different to my nose each time spraying it. When smelling Aventus in different stores, it was very clear to me that despite the subtle differences I smelled Aventus each time and no other fragrance. However, after I bought my second Aventus bottle I was really surprized at the first initial spray. This one was extremely fruity and slightly greener. At initial spray, It smelled more like Micallef’s Royal Vintage than Aventus. However, after a few minutes the smoke came in and it was the same old Aventus, but still less smoky and more modest than my initial travel size bottle. The fruity part and the smoky part are the two ends of a single continuum and depending on the batch, the bottle will be either more smoky or more fruity.

Longevity: 10/10 (more than 12 hours)
Projection/Sillage: 10/10 (Keep in mind that more than two sprays will not be appropriate in an office, unless if you want – like Napoleon – to create an invasion. Therefore, I do not consider this as the safest fragrance).

The impression I get from this is, smells like a very rich and slightly hoity toity Italian man.
The smell of wood is the strongest, like wet raw and green wood straight from the tree of a wet forest. The sour tropical fruity note of pineapple rounds it out, but I have to say the pineapple is not really distinguishable, only the sour note is noticed mixed along with the raw wood. There is a tiny bit of bergomot making this smell fresh and airy. It's hard to distinguish other notes, but the over all smell is woody earthy and sweet. This would look silly on someone wearing casual clothes. More appropriate for formal events.

I finally got to try this today from the Creed Boutique in NYC.

First I must say all the hype IS about something. I am not sure I praise it to the extent that some people do but the juice is UNIQUE. It isn't something you smell often so in that regard this juice does stand out.

I was expecting a heavy smokey aquatic from all the reviews I read and that is pretty much what I got. To be honest I didn't start noticing any pineapple until a 1/3 of the way through the pyramid. At first it was a smokey lemon that I was smelling. I was enjoying it very much until the lemon reminded me of Lemon Pledge Cleaner. Now that I am in the pineapple phase I actually miss the smoky lemon phase that I got before it reminded me of Pledge. It seemed to work better with the smoke than the pineapple does. The combination of pineapple and smoke doesn't make as much sense to me.

Projection seems very average after one hour. It sits very close to the skin but might re activate with heat. At first I thought I had found the holy grail of aquatics. The opening was very intriguing but after an hour it was long forgotten.

I put this in the "frustrating" category...." If only it smelled like the opening for longer " " If only........."

Really unique, masculine and elegant fragrance. Quite spicy and fresh so fragrance rather for the day. Longevity and sillage - unexpectedly good! One of my favorites but there is one disadvantage - price. I wonder if Ilum Dean Fresco will be a worthy counterpart...

Full disclosure: I am obsessed with pineapple scents. L'Artisan's Ananas Fizz is one of my most favorite perfumes of all time.

Although Aventus is a man's cologne and is pretty manly, I believe it could be unisex for the right woman. The initial blast on this smells more like pineapple + grapefruit to me but oddly enough grapefruit is not in the notes. Maybe musk + bergamot + black currant is causing that effect?

After about a minute or so, the citrussy effect burts and a softer fragrance takes over where you can pinpoint each individual note more easily. This IS a very summery scent for me. I see a tanned man wearing shorts, brown leather sandals and a silk Tommy Bahama shirt wearing this... (And me checking his ring finger to see if he has a wedding ring!)

But yeah, as a woman I'd definitely wear this myself. Ananas Fizz has been discontinued indefinitely and it's been so hard to find another pineapple fragrance that isn't sugary and childish.

Blind-buy safe for pineapple lovers. NOT gourmand.

Also: all I used was ONE drop on my wrist. Though this juice is expensive it's pretty potent. Use sparingly. Sillage and Lasting power are both monsters.

UPDATE:
Few months ago, tried it on a day of amazing heat. In the morning, happily, I sprayed some 6 sprays of Aventus to give some joy to the day, around 08:30 am.

After the output with the more cheerful fresh pineapple, it's been a lapse of time when hardly noticed the fragrance. Sooo light and disappointing. As it was dissapear. After this half hour, things started to change ...

20:30 (12 hours later ...) and have to say that still smells clearly and what is more. Perfectly projected to nearly two feet away.

Mention this only to say that I have NEVER noticed this in any perfume before. (Well, maybe some vintage like Kenzo Jungle or something like this...)

The smell ... Well, it's really very unique and striking. I do not find particularly smoking, is fruity-tropical with a pinch of many more notes like green apple, leather, rose, vanilla, etc ... The truth is that goes through different phases and is quite complex.

When it comes to fragances I'm a bit of a an addict to say the least and own/owned many in my collection. I have never worn anything in my collection that gets compliments like Creeds Aventus.

People don't really compliment each other too much where I live and I very rarely recieve any comments when I wear any other fragrance, but this guarantees me some every time I wear it. I've had complete strangers telling me how nice it smells to people who never talk to me usually making comments about it.

I'll be honest, when I first smelled it I didn't think the fragrance lived up to the hype. Perhaps it's all the positive feedback that I've recieved whilst wearing it, or just my olfactory maturing - either way Aventus is a main stay in my collection from now on. This makes you feel like a man, so a nice change from my usual gourmand options!

I purchased Aventus blind after reading all the positive reviews on here. Not knowing what to expect, other than my preconceived notions shared via other users, i was blown away at first whiff.
Aventus smells like opulence, power, integrity. I imagine a stone-willed man of great wealth wearing this cologne. This juice does not strike me as the every day spray but rather a scent to be worn when an extra dose of dominance is needed.

I only ordered a sample, because it's expensive, but i think the scent may be worth the price. i absolutely love this one, on my skin, the bergamot is very distinctive in the opening, along with a woody/spicy note. I'm not getting to much of the fruity scent, but i love the scent i'm getting, it's really different from anything i've smelled, but very nice. i'm kinda getting a rosemary-ish scent with a bit of incense, though i don't see those listed above. i feel like i could wear this on a special occasion during any season or time of day.

This is my absolute favourite. I don't know of any other fragrance that gets as many comments and compliments as this.

This is pure masculine power in a bottle! If you first spray this on, it soon becomes clear this is a high class masterpiece, not worthy the comparison with some other designer fragrances. However, I wouldn't want to wear this every day, it's too much 'in your face' overpowering for the office. Reminds me of the best colognes my dad was wearing in the 80s, but this one includes a complex, modern touch which can be used by every age group. I save this one for special occasions, because of its unique scent (and price) :)

I couldn't wait any longer to try this frag. out after hearing about so many positive reviews on this site and others. I put off ordering a sample long ago after first hearing about it because it's so expensive. There seems to be so much hype going around about this fragrance.

I looked it up and it's in the "Chypre fruity" group. There's not many mens' frags that are in that group.

The scent itself when I put it on my skin is kind of strong then it mellows out. It smells sort of like some other strong men's fragrances that I tried out. In the beginning, I detect a smoky scent with some fruit scents mixed with it(mainly Pineapple). In saying that, this somewhat reminds me of if I would have pineapple smoked in my grill. This fragrance isn't too sweet at all and that's what I was skeptical about at first with trying it out, because of what I read about it having some fruit notes. I don't mind some sweetness to a frag. but not too overly sweet and not in a wrong direction that turns my stomach(like Alfred Dunhill's "Desire") I'm sorry to say that I don't like it enough to think about purchasing any larger samples in the future. And as for buying a bottle, it's way too expensive along with the other Creed frags. I think anyone could wear this frag,but I think it's geared more for guys after college age to about early 60's to wear at special occasions, to the clubs, and casinos at night. I'm glad I at least got to try a sample of this out. It's kind of an interesting scent. I recommend at least trying a sample of this out, but it's not for everyone. The longevity of this for me, is long lasting like most other Creed fragrances that I've tried.

It is good, very good, but not sure it is worth the huge price - you have to decide yourself, I can first tell later because = there are a lot others with fine smell and much cheaper

- can not say anything about the projection for now, but I have read severel places, that there are different batches with different smell, longevity and perhaps also different sillage?

I think we have to live with that, I am not sure it could be different, unless robots alone made it.

Can not smell the vanilla (at least not yet), but perhaps that is because I have just worn Prada (men) the last few days.

Crazy stupid or just have too much money to spend I'm guessing stupid , I have 2 bottles now and I have heard the different scents you can get from different batches well I'm here to tell you it's true on spraying one I get a warm smoky smell with a hint of a fruity backdrop yet after say 6 hrs the smoke has disappeared and the pineapple scent seems to take over , longevity awesome 12 hrs easy with 1-2 sprays , then the other no sign of a smoky scent just pure sweet fruity refreshing smell with again longevity around the same , confused yes but very happy I have a day and night creed lol are they the real deal have heard of fakes , are mine ? who knows and really who cares well I do as I paid enough and they were reputable sellers I will enjoy these until I'm told otherwise

Nowhere does this scent get that much hype than in the fragrance community. There is ONE catalyst for this - one only .. and that is that Aventus DOES garner a lot of compliments (at least the batch I had right from the beginning - about that a little later).

All Aventus is, is a fruity top that dries down smoky with some woods and leather. Musk is there and ambergris as well.

It IS an overall pleasant scent that oozes class and sophistication to some degree as well. Good Creed DNA essentially.

Apart from that, this is NOT the epitome of the fragrance world. The hype around it a year or two ago has been transferred to other houses in general ... Roja Dove comes to mind, and this hype will continue to others as the years go by.

Batch issues: One of the biggest factors why hype died down considerably in recent times ... if you have poor consistency (please no talk of 'oh they use natural ingredients' etc), then your product loses support.

On aggregate, Aventus remains one of the best sellers for Creed, retains a considerable fan base, still garners compliments BUT overpriced.

I absolutely love this juice! Its the daddy of fragrances in my opinion! its unique & oozes class big time.
Forget what the ingredients smell of I can just smell expensive taste, chic, panache & a man who knows high quality fragrance.

One of the most "I have" and one of the most "I want" in Fragrantica. What does it mean? Is it outstanding? Is it only hype? I don´t know, but I´m very curious about.

Designed to appeal to the modern crowds.
Masculine, roasted pinapple creates a cloud of authority around you, giving you the confidence you need, perhaps, for important meetings with clients or investors. It projects an aura of sensual dominance in a modern, superior and almost erotic way.
The pineapple note stays to the dry-down phase, which, as in many Creed perfumes, is a soft mix of salt and grey amber.
Good for office wear with good longevity and sillage.
Highly recommend.

If you love iso e super, ananas and a lot of bullshit, Creed (a brand founded not in 1760 but in 1980!) is for you (give your money to them)!

I have been using Aventus since July of this year (2014). For years I had seen it on the Creed counter, but it never really intrigued me. After falling in love with Creed's Sublime Vanille, I decided to go and see what else they had.

I loved Aventus from smelling the bottle cap, but it didn't smell of anything on my skin, or the test paper. But I wasn't really settled with that, so I looked at the fragrance forums to see what people were talking about regarding Aventus. I couldn't believe all of the talk about batch numbers, "good years" for the scent, packaging serial numbers vs. numbers on the bottle - it was insane. I've never seen such craziness online over a scent. This already tells you, there's something incredible about this fragrance that everyone desires.

So after much trial, online searching, and messaging (yes, this Creed stuff is serious) - I purchased a bottle with the batch code SO42C13ZZ01 (bottle number) / SO42C13ZZ1 (packaging number). Yes - that seems absurd to even be that specific, but some people even note variances in the spray cap. Some say different caps incapsulate fragrances that vary in aroma.

I love it. It's absolutely gorgeous. I wore it all summer and it was the perfect scent. Fresh and cool, but warm. Citrusy, but hardly pungent. Sweet, but not cloying. And some sort of calm, friendly, worn-in scent... smoke. The fragrance is incredibly alluring and sexy, but in an approachable way. Everyone wants to know what you're wearing and the compliments are endless - from strangers.

As my bottle ran out (I went through it quickly... it was an obsession) - I bought another of the same batch. And then bought a small bottle of batch (bottle number) A42B13U01. This batch smells practically the same to other one I own. The only difference is that it is smokier, warmer and less sweet. Yes - it really does smell different! But either way both versions are stunning.

So, while it may all seem completely ludicrous - what these Creed fans do to find the perfect scent - it clearly is a benefit to finding an excellent batch. I think if you want this scent at its best, you have to do that research. Some people's "blind buys" have amounted to very expensive bottles that hardly smell of anything. Other's have been more lucky.

For myself, I can wear this all year. It always seems to work. No matter the season, temperature, occasion, mood, target... Aventus works beautifully.

Believe the hype, this is something special.

Perfume that holds very well !
I put 2 sprays in the morning at 7am , and at night I can still get compliments . It lasts me easily 13h !

I just wanted to leave the " eau de toilette " to find something that lasts longer .
I 'm thrilled there :-)

At the moment I have the batch 14D01 .
It is fruity at first.
It starts fast enough to more smoke and musky notes (but we keep the smell of fruit in the background)

Furthermore , the fragrance is hardly worn in Europe.

Not the cheapest , but the smell is so unusual scent where I live .. It lasts so long ...

now it's my signature scent :-)

I like many other Creeds but Aventus gives me a bad bad headache. I get notes of High School Locker Room and Strip Club.. very ordinary. This one is not for me.

All I can say is that this fragrance got me hooked on niche houses. The saying you get what you pay for is so true in this instance. This was a game changer for me and is still probably in my top 3, if not top, fragrances.

i have tested this fragrance more than 7 times in different places and sorry to say but all i get was a smell that i can't differentiate between other big brands. it was quite normal, nothing interesting at all to my nose! maybe it was lighter than i like, and i couldn't even remember what i have smelled!! so it's forgettable to me.

on the other hand, a friend of mine was with me that day when we tested this fragrance (the 5th time to test for me and the 1st for him). My friend is a smoker, he's not a fan of fragrances but he loves Burberry fragrances, he loves citrus fragrances and no flower fragrances for him. i remember that day the seller was so excited to show us his best selling fragrance and to see our reaction to it. from the first sniff my friend loved it as the seller told us that it's a smoker's choice and always a win. but to me it wasn't. and honestly since then i understand the hype around it. it will work for you if you're a fan of those big brands like polo, DKNY, CK, Burberry, etc.. the only drawback for you would be it's price that's because you're buying the brand name :)

Batch variation, that is the first thing you heard about that fragrance, but is their realy a noticeable variation in different Aventus over the years? That is the true question...As far as i m concerned, i try 4 différents one and didn t notice any change. What i do notice it is an incredible natural smell. By far one of the best that i ever get my hand on. I get pineapple, blackcurrant, musk and birch with a little oak moss. It seem to be perfectly blend, a scent that come straight from heaven. If it wasn t for the price, i would wear this almost every day. You are sure to be noticed while wearing this, just enought projection without been anoying, a pleasant smell that could be used any time of the years, in every occasion. Exept for the price, the only weakness of this fragrance is the longevity, for something that has such an high price tag, you would like to have a better longevity and not need to reapply every 6 hours...i would use it a lot more if it was half on his actual price.
So there is the final divine score:

Smell: 9,5/10, one of the best that i ever smell. Very natural smelling.
Longevity: 4/5, i get 6 hours, sometime around 8 when i am lucky.
Projection: 4/5, you will be notice and receive compliments with it.
Versatility: 5/5, an all year around, all occasion, but dont waste it and keep it for great time.
Overall: 22,5/25, an excellent fragrance, but it is true that the price tag is too high.

So, I finally got to sample this a few days ago and I can honestly say, "I DO NOT GET THE HYPE!" It smells fine (decent fragrance), but if you're spending $300 on a bottle of fragrance based upon hype alone, then surely, it's going to smell like the best thing in the world.

Finally purchased. Sale price was out of my comfort zone and this new purchase does not have the wow factor of my initial sample. I really like it still but it's different. The sample lasted hours, even in to the following day, but the new bottle seems to not hold it as long. Still an instant classic-these are my observations.

Like it or hate it - this is unanimously attractive to the opposite sex. It's the acqua di gio of this decade. Quality Is undeniable.

Today I finally test the man, the myth, the legend - I got a tiny amount of this with my Surrender to Chance sample order. As I opened the package I smelled something amazing, but masculine. Since Aventus is the only men's frag I ordered, I knew that's what it was. It was overpowering all my little girly samples, before I even opened the little plastic bag they were all in. I haven't gotten to test this very long but so far, I can tell this is destined to be a sillage bomb.

I haven't tested very many men's colognes so I really don't know what notes I'm getting here. It smells like the color grey, if that makes sense to anyone but me LOL. There is definitely a lot of musk, that's all I can really identify. I think this scent is VEEEERYYYYY masculine. LOVE.

P.S. My fiance has some deodorant from Dove, it's called Cool Silver, and I think it smells similar to this. I used to be obsessed with that deodorant, wishing they made a cologne version of it because it smells so good. Well, I've found it now!

EDIT - a few days later I found myself at the Creed counter, and of course picked this one up for a sniff. Whoooooeeee I understand 'batch differences' now! The sample I have smells very clean, musky, and a little fruity. The one I smelled at NM today smelled smokey and woody. Almost like they were 2 totally different colognes. Strange!

I believe this is one of the best fragrances ever made. The combination of pineapple with the woods, the smokiness and the leather. It smells expensive. It is unique, I haven't ever smelt anything that I could really compare to this. Good longevity and very good silage. I honestly don't feel there is any downsides to this fragrance. I have batch LT42C14A01, previously mentioned on this thread as being one to avoid.... I personally disagree, it has been fine for me.

*One other thing, many fragrances although I enjoy them, others around me may not (if they aren't into fragrances). This is different, its liked by almost everyone. A compliment getter.

Aventus by Creed has a huge reputation, and equally huge price tag, so I was expecting a wave of knockout wow factor, olfactory delights to overwhelm me when I first sampled the perfume. That didn’t happen. I got some smokiness, some spice and fresh fruit, but it was all very subtle, not the marching band down the high street that I was expecting. So I gave it some time to settle on my skin, and time for myself to contemplate what was happening here. It didn’t take very long for me to understand. Subtle, understated quality is what makes a superior scent, not the synthetic, dry and overtly loud perfumes that are going to make anybody coming within a ten yard radius of you go into a coughing fit and run for cover. Aventus is a scent of quiet, contemplative self-assurance. It’s a superior scent for an unostentatious man, a man who doesn’t need to convince anybody else of his worth, because he already knows, and that is all that he needs.

This frag. maybe the best or one of the best from this house.It's a bit pricey but for this.It's a must have. If you're a collector or simply a user of nice frag.Treat you're self to a bottle and it will bring a smile on you're face.Confident and a sharp smelling.Niche or designer frag., if I like it I'll buy it...period.

There are better versions out there of this type of fragrance. I just don't care for this particular one. This one is definitely one I thought I was going to like, but after I tried it....I just don't. BUT...I have found that I have a hard time with Creed Frags on me (with the exception of Royal Oud....which I LOVE).

I really wanted to like it, especially after reading all of the reviews.

It is a quality fragrance, I will admit that, but it is not for everyone. It quickly settles into patchouli and musk with an overwhelmingly old fashioned vibe to it.

To me, this smells like it should be worn by someone in their sixties, and I cannot believe people stating that this fragrance is 'appealing to the opposite sex'. My wife's first reaction was ‘Ugh, I don’t like that. You smell like an old man’.

My advice: Do yourself a favor and do not believe all the ridiculous hype on the internet – try it and judge for yourself. Not worth the price tag, imho.

what a great scent. its really great for men of any age who need to attract a woman for sex. particularly great for attracting goldigging women if you are of a homely nature. ex: "this smells great on my boyfriend" of course it does.. because if hes rich then you dont care if he smells of poo because youre after the cash.

The best Creed in my opinion

The fruitness with the smoky vibe makes it very classy and yet not too formal for casual occasions, this fragrance lives up to its hype, i love it.

Okay, I understand that my original review may not be helpful.

To clarify, Aventus is a nice frag. It's spicy and the pineapple is shockingly appropriate.

However... however you will notice that this is a fragrance that is primarily worn by wealthier men, so much so that it's a cliche. It just is what it is. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but it doesn't stand out in a crowd. Creed is Neiman Marcus' trendy, too expensive for the Sephora crowd but still worn by too many fragrance house.

I'd rather not smell like every single successful older male that I encounter. If you're comfortable with conformity... hell, sometimes getting rich enough to by Creed involves following the herd I'm sure, then go for it.

Some reviews here are simply bashing the scent or what they ALWAYS say as hype while others really love it. Majority of the bashing reviews are not even helpful, it's so funny how the hatred just flows. :) Oh well, I'll add in my review.

I like Aventus, wait, no, I love it. I love how it smells spicy crisp and clean on my bf and it lasts all day on him. I get a bit of the smoky pineapple along with other subtle citrus notes. Beautifully spiced yet fresh and wonderfully unique. That's it! No expectations of it bringing me to sublime ecstacy like so many disappointed people here, lol. Besides, as a female I even wear AVENTUS at times I crave the smell of it.

This screams success, confidence and sex appeal! The perfect all around cologne, smells absolutely amazing and projects like an animal. So classy and so amazing, cannot stop smelling myself after spraying this on.

I can smell this all over my pillows, and on my skin almost 48 hours after applying. You may be paying triple the normal price of cologne, but you really only need a drop of this stuff to smell incredible so in my opinion, it's worth every penny.

Today I want to reiterate my obsession for this perfume, I have quite a collection of fragrance in my room, I wore different scent daily, in the right mood I often layer them experimentally with diff combination be it night or day. I tell you with all those combination, no other perfumes receives compliment better than aventus. I hate to admit it but 50% of the time I am wearing this perfume because people who knows me look forward to this fragrance and i don't want to disappoint them by wearing others. I have consumed 3 bottles already. in my experience the longevity is usually similar, if there is a slight difference in notes, my untrained nose only detected it faintly. In fact I have bought from different source, duty free, grey market and even in the Creed house, their the same though the price differs considerably. Personally I wear it during summer or rainy days, it is a very versatile perfume.

The best batch is Z01 with gorgeous notes. Love the pineapple, and apple tones in it. I haven't found in other batches near this good.

I have been purchasing this fragrance long enough to justify that batch variations don't matter, the longevity is just about the same for every bottle of Aventus I've purchased. The same goes with the scent, all alike.

For anyone looking for a cheaper alternative let me tell you..There is none other like this, not Fresco or any other cheap knockoff. this is a quality fragrance that no other perfumer can imitate. This is a must have for anyone looking for something unique that screams masculinity. The sweet smell of pineapple and musk in the opening gets me every time, such a gorgeous smell.

Do not listen to any of these reviewers who have only tried this cologne with just sample vials. You can't get the best out of this cologne with just a sample vial. Sample vials don't preserve the juice well.

This fragrance is UNBILIEVEABLE in the most positive sense. Masculine, SEXY, seductive, CLASSY, elegant...I have never smelled something so attractive before. 10/10

Shaver - you're too funny. I've had samples of this in the past and just recently bought a full bottle, although I'm not sure that for me it's bottle-worthy. I do feel that any well-rounded men's fragrance collection should include this based on it being somewhat unique. Funny enough, when I had samples I was never caught up in the "hype train", but I was in Las Vegas this summer in 102 degrees of heat and I wore it and, in my opinion, that's when it was at it's best. I find that there are a lot of reviewers on Fragrantica who believe that projection, sillage and "beast mode" make for a great fragrance. I've never subscribed to that. I tend toward skin scents and my approach is a bit more subtle - I only need a couple of sprays of this to last an entire day and I'm good.

I was in a small pizzeria with my wife. Sally's in New Haven to be correct and if anyone knows this place they will know it's small and packed (and makes the best pizza in the US). Anyway, I couldn't help but notice that someone was wearing this and by wearing it I mean severely over applying it. My wife and I thought we where going to throw up. It's so god awful when the top notes of the pineapple and fresh fruit fades off your are left with this overbearing birch and patchouli grossness.


The hype train has run a muck on this one. Guys keep on dreaming that this is your sex potion, while everyone around you is whispering about the awful nostril burning odor...Enjoy this crap at your own risk...

Well i purchase 2 samples of Aventus Creed from 2 reputable samples websites. I try side to side with "Fresco" and "Insurrection Pure II".

The first site specifies that decant from the batch C42B13W01 purchased in June of 2014 directly from the Creed boutique. This sample is disappointing. Sillage close to skin and longevity averange. This batch seems to be smoky. I'm suspecting if they gave me a sample of "Fresco" cause are very similar (include the longevity and sillage).

The other sample if more fruity (sweet) but have a very good longevity and good sillage. This sample is superior to Fresco, Insurrection Pure II and the other sample.

My rank will this way:

1) Fruity Sample.
2) Insurrection Pure II (Smells good and decent longevity and sillage, and for the price, worth it)
3) Smoky Sample C42B13W01 (not quite bad but have low sillage and longevity for the price).
4) Fresco (this is last for the poor longevity and sillage, but smells good).

Conclusion:

I will not purchase a full bottle of Aventus until i be sure to get a good batch. I have afraid to buy a bottle and get a bad quality batch.

Good? Yes, but NOT good enough! Jo Malone Cologne Intense Oud & Bergamot is VERY similar but only BETTER to aventus...

Nothing so-so special considering the price.

I think I have the worst batch of Aventus ever made 13Q01. Lets just say it smells like pineapple for about 15 minutes and then dries down to a dirty nasty patchouli. True story, I had a house party last week and a bunch of people asked me if I had on patchouli. I was thoroughly embarrassed WTF!!!! Creed!!!!????

Man, this is very good but an aquired taste for me. At first, I was putting too much (5-6 sprays) and it killed everybody in a two mile radius, a patchouli bomb I tell you. But now with only three sprays WOW this fragrance is the cream of the crop with compliment from left and right. I have yet to meet someone who does not like it.

"Aventus is a temple for all fragrance pilgrims to visit" is so very true 'cos Aventus is the perfect fragrance... well for me at least.

I asked for Creed to send me a sample of this stuff, they did and I fell in love. This is the most I have ever spent on any frag, but it was so worth it. It makes me want to try more reed frags, but due to the high price, it won't be happening anytime soon.

(I don't particularly care about batch numbers myself but for those who do, I have the Z01 batch)

I was ambivalent about Aventus when I first received it, but it did grow on me. I find the liquid to be oilier than most other fragrancs. Starts with a juicy pineapple which very quickly settles down into something that is very well-blended and without any rough edges. If there is smoke in this composition, it is only the tiniest whisper. Maybe barely-there hints of rose, birch and ambergris.

As others have mentioned longevity and sillage are both deceptive, as you can think it has disappeared but will subtly make its presence known again.

I find Aventus perfect for daytime wear in a crisp white business shirt in Spring. I rarely get compliments on my fragrances, but have received one for this: from a female client who leaned in closer to my chest and said, "Mmmmmm....." Mind you I did not particularly like said client, but I took the compliment in the spirit in which it was given.

Worth the price? The jury is out.

11/30/12 lot ..12C02: more pepper, less pineapple.
9/20/14 lot ...14D01 subjectively, not as good as previous lots, more ashy, but still pleasant overall. Pricey, but a worthwhile acquisition.

Stay away from batch LT42C14A01. Weak projection and almost zero longevity.
I just can't believe the quality of this batch. It is absolutely horrible. So much for the 'CREED' brand.

To Put It In a NutShell.

Aventus is a temple for all fragrances to come to visit.

This was a surprise. After reading the reviews, I was expecting pineapple, but what I got was a wonderful green fall apple smell in the top notes. The kind you find at the farmer's market that are so fragrant you stick your head in the basket to enjoy it! When it dried down, the smoke, oakmoss and birch took over for an elegant accord. Gorgeous scent - didn't last long on my skin, but I loved it while it did! Although thought of as a masculine scent, it is such a beautiful perfume I think we ladies would love wearing it too.

This is it. The cologne you've been searching for. Stop wasting anymore money on anything else.

Look no further than Aventus. I'm only 19 years old and i've tried over 100 fragrances trying to find the perfect smell and there's nothing that comes close to being as good as this.

The price for it may be high, but it's worth the confidence boost and compliments that it gives you. It's not your subtle gourmand smell... It's one of those scents where everybody in the room turns their head towards you and ask who the heck smells so good.

And i'll tell you...

There was no better feeling than walking by a group of girls and them all just looking at me and saying "damn". And considering I don't look like Channing Tatum, I figure it was the Aventus doing its magic.

This cologne is the smell of confidence, success, and maturity and just simply can not be matched.

Perfect for every single occasion in every single season.

It's hard to say something that hasn't been said before. All I can say is that I was a sceptic upon my first spray. Now it is perhaps one of my favorite scents and one that can be worn in nearly any occasion.

Smokey pineapple is the best and simplest way to describe this scent.

For those concerned about batches, I have 14C01 and it leads with a strong pineapple smell before settling into birch.

I really like this one. I tried it out in the summer and everytime I smell this in hot weather it impresses me! A really great choice for hot weather but can also be worn on other occasions across the year.

So Aventus was inspired by the life and legacy of Napoléon Bonaparte, using some the ingredients associated with his memory. Pineapple, his favourite food. Birch wood bark, from Louisiana (ruled by France at that time in history). Blackcurrant from Corsica, his place of birth... and finally Ambergris from the ocean, representing his navy.

It's a lovely smelling fragrance, mostly unique because of the Pineapple note, which I don't see in many other fragrances (it smells like a ripe, juicy Pineapple being freshly cut open with a knife). I also detect Rose, a little Patchoulli, and a tiny hint of Jasmine. I think it's all about the fresh, juicy Pineapple and smoky wood. I also really love the Ambergris base which is musky and salty at the same time. It smells like eating Pineapple by a campfire with something salty. It's a strange combination but it somehow works.

By the way for people who talk about batches, my bottle was bought in 2012, and I get a very fresh Pineapple note, perfectly balanced with the Birch wood.

I do think this one is really unique (ground-breaking... perhaps). But I also see this is a very "safe" fragrance, I think it's different, and I respect that. I also love it enough to wear it quite a bit, but mostly in hot weather. I can't see anyone disliking this... and I would imagine that many people both male and female would find it a very pleasing smell. I think this is one of those fragrances that you should buy only if you really love it, because only you can decide whether to pay the price which is asked for it. I think I do really admire and love this fragrance, for me it does the job. Bottom line is, if you love it it will be worth the money to you. No more no less.

Edit: A very curious thing happened... this fragrance has started bringing me compliments! Unsolicited! A woman smelled this on me as I was passing by saying "what is that smell? It's wonderful!", so I showed her the bottle later and told her the price. She replied "No wonder it has that price, it's quality". What more can I say? Believe the hype!

I've had my bottle for a few months, and think I can give an honest review, even if it's nothing new or exciting compared to the hundreds of other ones online for the fragrance. First off, I purchased samples of Aventus before buying the bottle, and they were definitely fruitier than my bottle, which favors the smokey notes more.

If you've read online about how this is the holy grail of fragrances that gets compliments everywhere, you're probably curious like I am. It's a unique, masculine scent that demands attention, and it will only get compliments if you're confident. A young guy dousing himself in this and going to class will honestly probably gross everyone out. Aventus is very versatile due to the silage and longevity, and can be worn for many seasons, but the only time I really wear it is if I am going to a party or gathering outdoors, especially if I know that there will be people grilling, smoking cigars, etc. It goes hand in hand with warm outdoor weather, and I've had people blurt out "wow someone smelling amazing" that aren't even standing by me.

TLDR; Buy a sample first, and wear it accordingly if you do purchase it. Using Aventus in the proper situation will garner it many compliments, but I tend to think it's far too demanding of attention to be worn everyday to work or class. A unique fragrance to set yourself apart from the hoards of people wearing Mt. Blanc Legend and One Million for sure!

Question: do any other users of Aventus have problems "breaking out?"

Quick back story: got a couple of samples from Amazon Prime.
I assume it's the real deal. Have used the samples, and absolutely LOVE the scent; however, when I use it, I notice that I tend to break out a little bit (on my forehead).
Considering that I am 40 years young - that is a little strange.
I don't typically get pimples.
I tend to think that this is due to the oils within this frag - in addition, I am placing the product directly on my hand, and then patting my face; dabbing behind my ears; and a little bit on my neck.

At any rate - I do so enjoy this scent.

Any input / experience would be appreciated very much.

To add to the fire... without knowing the batch ordeal, I tried Aventus at Saks and thought that I was missing something or my nose was off b/c I a) wasn't very impressed and b) didn't smell pineapple - just a sharp indistinguishable smoky citrus.

Fast-forward a week and I tried it again at Bergdorf... I noticed what seems like a pretty distinguishable difference - definitely pineapple and a more enjoyable scent. It ended up pushing this into a purchase from one where I was originally disappointed.

Now that I know about the batch talk, it looks like others have had similar experiences. For the record, my purchase was batch 14C01 and it smells great (more fruity than the Saks sample).

I was also a big fan of MI, which I was going to buy if I didn't like my second try at Aventus.

A little overrated I believe. I don't think it's bad, it just doesn't leave me curious or wanting to keep sniffing like a great cologne should. Then again fruity, summer-type scents are usually a hit or miss for me so take that for what its worth.

Almost too masculine, but still refined and tasteful. The top notes were refreshing but for some reason I smelled little too much smoke. The most remarkable thing about this one was its lasting power on my skin; that is 72hours -with showers and all-. So Scent 8.5/10 Sillage 8/10 longevity 15/10

Just plain wow! I'm an average guy, with an average job (Audio Visual Technician) Today I wore this for work and school. All I can say is wow!wow! Wow!.... I don't know and pretty much don't care about batch inconsistencies. This is a great frag all round. I wore it for the first time today.. It got me noticed by VP's and the cute cubicle chicks at my office. Still not better than VIW... But this I will definitely try to buy again when I run out of my current bottle. Love it.

This is a fragrance that all us guys think is what all women want us to smell like...Smokey and mysterious with a light fruitiness in the background. The truth is most women thinks it smells so so but not ideal. Sorry guys. I wanted to believe too.

Straight off the bat this one hits you with a juicy burst of fresh pineapple!

Like you have just sliced off a big hunk, taken a man-sized mouthful of the golden fruit, and the juice has soaked your caveman beard!

This lasts all of about 30 seconds before the sweet and fresh sensation transitions to more of a smoked pineapple scent. It's like you have thrown down that hunk you were just munching onto a hot grill plate, the tough green skin and the zesty yellow flesh charring and smouldering on the dancing flames.

You pull the pineapple from the fire and toss pieces of it through a mixture of ginger, mint and lemongrass. These cool and refreshing flavours also carry with them a kind of heat, and mixed with the smokey charred pineapple, create an amazing zesty green fusion of herbal sweet and sour.

Now I get something that struck me as really unusual, something I have not encountered in a fragrance before. It was like I had crushed Chinese Elm leaves in my hands, their scent filling the space around me. Those roughly textured, crinkle-cut, apple green heart shaped leaves have a very distinct smell, and brought back memories of growing up in the Adelaide Hills. All the while the Asian salad vibe as mentioned above is rocking around inside my nostrils.

I would have to describe the opening and heart of this fragrance as very green and smokey. Crushed foliage, zesty herbs, sweet, sour, smokey and delicious!

As the fragrance starts to transition into the dry-down, it feels like a slightly fizzy, and almost powdery veil masks the smokey greenness of the heart. It's like all the ingredients in that Asian salad where placed into a tall glass and submerged in tonic water to create an effervescent and refreshing cocktail.

The fizziness then becomes warmer and sweeter, with the green elements of the opening and heart taking a backseat. Now a creamy and comfortable animalic muskiness translucently masks the other notes, all of which are still very much still present, however now they are weighted down by Creed's seemingly signature pelt.

Deeper into the dry-down the sweetness slightly dissipates and becomes cooler and more tart.

I really enjoyed the entire journey of this fume. Definitely masculine with a capital M!!!

Wow! This stuff smells great! Do not be afraid to buy a bottle no matter what the batch is. They all smell great! It's a very fruity and smoky scent that projects like a beast and last all day! This is probably one of the best warm weather scents I have tried. Very classy and high quality. It's a pretty expensive buy but it is worth the money if you can swing it. Very safe as a blind buy and is safe for any occasion as I'm pretty sure you would have a hard time finding someone who will say they don't like it. Simply a masterpiece!

In my opinion Creed and Bond No. 9 scents have to be my top two favorite brands I have come across with Bond No. 9 Chez Bond being my personal all time favorite scent so far.

Fransa'nın Lyon şehrinden ünlü bir mağazadan 30ml ve 120ml olarak iki ayrı şişesini aldırdım. Ancak nedense iki ayrı kokuyla karşılaştım. 30ml olan şişe daha karanlık ve tütsü kokusu üzerine meyveli bir koku iken 120ml olan şişe çok daha meyveli hatta biraz fazla şekerli çıktı. İkisinin de tarzı ayrı şekilde hoşuma gitse de ufak şişe daha erkeksi ve kaliteli bir his verdi. Büyük şişe ise daha fazla seveni olan ama süpermarketlerde 30-60TL arası fiyatlarla satılan parfümlere yakın bir his uyandırdı. Sanırım batch olayına yakalandım. Temelde iki şişedeki parfüm de benziyor ama ben 30ml olan şişedeki kokuyu daha çok sevdim sanki. İki şişenin ortak noktası ise kokuları çok güzel olmasına rağmen verdiğim onca parayı ne kadar hak ettiği noktasında oldu.

Çevremde istisnasız olumlu yorumlar alsa da bu fiyata pek değmediğini düşünüyorum. Zaten Türkiye'de insanların koku hissi nedense 10TL değerindeki taklit parfüm ile orjinali arasındaki farkı anlayamaz durumda iken bulunduğunuz ortamlarda kaliteyi farkedemeyecek insanlarla çevrilmişseniz bir şişesine sahipseniz bile kullanmaya değmiyor.

Benim tenimde kalıcılık bakımından gün içinde 6-8 saat rahatlıkla sürüyor. Fark edilirlik ise 4 saat sonra çok yaklaşanlar hariç bitiyor.

Önerir miyim? Fiyatı ve bulunabilirliği sebebiyle "kullanmasanız da bir şey kabetmessiniz" diyorum.

Lovely sweet and smoky, but almost identical to Mancera Cedrat Boise. Both are good, but I think Aventus is a bit over-hyped. A superb scent, not worth the price though, unless money isn't an object then go nuts, drown in the stuff.
