Aventus celebrates strength, vision and success, inspired by the dramatic life of war, peace and romance lived by Emperor Napoleon. The bottle is emblazoned with a silver emblem of a horse and rider.
The finest ingredients were hand-selected for this composition, and father and son developed this provocative, masculine and optimistic fragrance as a joint effort.
Top notes: blackcurrant, bergamot, apple and pineapple. Heart: rose, dry birch, Moroccan jasmine and patchouli. Base: oak moss, musk, ambergris, and vanilla.
Aventus is available in flacons of 30, 75, 120 and 250 ml. Aventus was launched in 2010. Aventus was created by Olivier Creed Sixth Generation and Erwin Creed Seventh Generation.

I may be in the minority in thinking this isn't such a big departure for Creed, at least not as much as the press makes it out to be. It IS different, no doubt, from the majority of what's out there, but the quality on display here accounts for most of that. If Aventus were made of designer-grade materials it would smell like your average '90s masculine cologne. Sure, pineapple is a nice touch, but when ground into a chemical haze, it adopts that nondescript "fresh 'n sweet" profile we've all encountered a gazillion times before.
Fortunately, Aventus is made of top notch stuff, and smells like every penny. The pineapple, apple, and birch are reminiscent of Spice and Wood, Creed's recent Royal Exclusive. These top notes provide the light that guides me through the silver haze of the scent's mysterious heart. It's at this stage that the bitter black currant seems most evident. If I didn't know better, I'd say this should be called Silver Mountain Water, because it has a very cold, silvery disposition, although there is absolutely nothing aquatic going on. Also similar is a strange inkiness that pervades the early drydown, which another reviewer accurately likened to freshly-printed newspapers. Here the oakmoss dominates, providing a solid base to something that verges on being transient. The effect is unremittingly masculine, very sharp and finely honed, with the wonderful ghost of vanilla softening the edges in the end.
Apparently the ladies just lose it over Aventus. I must admit, I don't smell anything that would suggest this scent possesses such a power. It's beautiful and very well made, but sexy? I guess it's a leap of faith, but I suppose the case could be made that it's better to make that leap with Aventus than some $70 frag from Macy's that was purchased 15 years ago. Personally I feel the same way about it as I did about Spice and Wood: it's lovely, but I'd rather wear Green Irish Tweed.
The Green Fairy after absinthe and the white angels after Aventus!
I haven't smelt purer perfume. It's purest smell one could take from pineapple.
It's fresh and light, neat and decent, white and mellow. In the middle phase, it gets deeper and purer like something that is not obvious in the remote distance because of dense cool fog. In this step the scent explodes out again like the opening and spreads immensely like a grenade; presents its unique, aerial, heavenly, unisex, innocent, luxurious and royal theme.
It really differs from other Creed perfumes; others are routine and typical but this one is one in a million, a really really jaw drawer one! A real niche perfume.
very curious about this one, i will order a sample and visit with this fragrance..like what i am reading about this one.
* Not a review* But 300 bucks really?
If I reviewed this based on my first test, I would have roundly panned Aventus: To me, it didn't seem like the Creed of yore I'd known. I'd have never purchased it and felt it was far too common, or that I'd swear I'd smelled it elsewhere before. I've have used all the terms everyone else who reviewed this negatively have labeled it. That was 2010. So let me tell you what completely transformed my outlook.
First, I was looking for something slightly lighter, perfect for summer wear, a little better in the heat and not completely cloying, yet that didn't smell like every other light, sharp fragrance being pushed on the male population. My Neiman's SA tried this on me and it suddenly clicked: This was a perfect light and dynamic scent that brought with it a bit more mass-appeal. This generation's Green Irish Tweed, so to speak.
I've had a full summer of wearing to experience this, and I honestly like this for what it is. It is not cheap (thankfully), it is different (again, thankfully), and it's quite tastefully done for a fresh scent that isn't overly sharp or light without having the depth of a puddle. This is a unique scent given the pineapple/musk/soft and smoky wood combination that is balanced so be not only a warm-weather scent but even a good year-round office scent. I've gotten compliments on this, people obviously have latched on to it, and for those who say it's too expensive...all Creeds are expensive! There are cheaper alternatives out there, and they are just that. I won't say I like every Creed, but despite this being less in my comfort-zone than my usual, it's a fragrance I feel confident and at ease wearing.
And yes, it's a Creed that has gotten a lot of good press for good reason, perhaps even being a Creed for the masses (provided the masses are up for paying Creed prices). That said, it's not for everyone, but it is surprisingly good once you recognize what it is. Then, it's extraordinary!
I just don't like the smoky pineapple top- somehow, and this sort of ruins it for me as a deal, it's very expensive. It's not a sweet syrupy pineapple, not like juice, more like a 'raw green' type as another review mentioned perfectly below.
The rest I really enjoy. I detect sweetness, fruitiness, some blackcurrant and the jasmine all done to niche standard. The oakmoss-ambergris drydown is of its own class, sublime! But it is faint, almost like it's being diluted (I have a genuine Perfume Court sample!) and the smokiness can get annoying.
Top ruins it for me, so I can never buy a bottle sadly not to mention the bank-melting price, but I'll give this a 3/5. If you pay well over £100 for 120ml perfume, you've gotta love the whole thing!
Smoky pineapple with some leather and musk. The birch has a bit of a pine tree smell to it and I also detect some apple and black currant. All of this creates a very interesting scent that is highly addictive and completely unique. For the most part linear, the projection is powerful and the longevity is solid.
Aventus is strange because a couple hours after wearing it you may not be able to detect it. This is due to olfactory fatigue (when you become accustomed to a smell, or having your senses overloaded with a smell, and then not smelling it)and not the actual fragrance itself. This one lasts and persists. Others will be able to smell it on you. I've received many compliments on it hours after I stopped being able to smell it. So go easy on the trigger--3 sprays is plenty.
I've only been wearing this for several days and it's quickly becoming one of my favorites. Aventus is undoubtedly masculine and appealing to women. It is also fresh and modern. Definitely worth trying, and after a few wears you may want to pick up a bottle yourself.
I thought i'd got confused while testing this out and accidentally sprayed Fahrenheit on myself... Nope! It is actually just that it smells identical.
Whether it's the batch in the shop or not i don't know.
It would be interesting to compare batches, but I just have a decant of unknown number. This one has strong pineapple, which isn't sweet but has a bit of a green and fresh quality. I get that smokiness others mention, and I'd call it a "clean" smoke. I like the smell and the idea, but it's a bit lacking in balance for me. Perhaps I can get used to it, and since it's so strong I only have to use a tiny amount per wearing. Definitely a sample first fragrance.
it is one of the best men's spring/summer fragrances ever - kind of sweet due to pineapple and blackcurrant but simply beautiful and very masculine at the same time. Great for spring, summer and fall. I have good memories...
Listen there is a new batch of Aventus, don't listen to the people who talk about there is no differences in batches. We are on the c42b11x02 batch and my gosh. Pineapple and Leather with some nice smoke in the background. I have always professed my love for Aventus, but now??????? Whew!!!!
Nice scent, to me it smells very similiar to Ralph Lauren's Romance Silver...which is still great. Maybe more refined in its essence since it is a Creed.
A nice fruity scent with dominant pineapple. excellent sillage and longevity. I find it very very similar with Ferre for men....if you check the ingredients, you can see that they share 8 of them...and something else. Cool water was done by Pierre Bourdon who is said that helped also in the creation on Green Irish Tweed before. Aventus is made by Creed, Ferre for Men by Pierre Bourdon which most probably, helped the creed house in the creation of Aventus....Please check those two perfumes and let me know if your agree with me...Aventus of course is of higher quality/ingredients but I wouldn't say that Ferre for men is bad or smells synthetic. Green Irish Tweed does not smell like Cool Water at the extend most of individuals are saying. Ferre for men does smell like Aventus!
I'm female, and I wear this one alot...in fact I'm on my 2nd bottle in a little under a year. It doesn't smell masculine on me..probably because of the pineapple top note. Very unisex to me and not at all fruity like it says. I layer this with prada infusion fleur d' oranger. That combo I've worn probably more than anything else & received the most compliments on. It's also nice layered with EL Azuree, believe it or not. You never know what a combo will turn into on you once you start experimenting with layering, but it's fun trying and finding good mixes for your chemistry.
I like it, yes it does smell very similar to jaguar vision. if you cant afford the real thing, jaguar will do nicely, it is only $20 for 100 ml. some might even prefer jaguar.
my wife does not like either one. i have a sample of aventus and a bottle of jaguar. but she does not like either one...whatever.
People always make a big deal out of Aventus. So I got myself a sample.
At first I smell a concoction of fruits. Fresh apples, pineapples and blackcurrants even.
But then I smell a beautiful fusion of apple and a light woody scent, mixed with a creamy pineapple. I can sense bergamot too.
The fruits are really framed well together by a sweet woody (moss/birch) tone.
This is not a heavy scent at all, very pleasant actually. I can see this being worn on warmer days (nights) owing to the fruity characteristics, as well as on colder days (nights) afforded by the woody, smoky even accords.
I can see why this is very popular. It is a sophisticated fragrance and safe enough so that you don't feel "ripped off" given the $$$ required for this juice.
I hope this stays long enough on my skin.
Would I buy this?
I think I would but I will look out for a deal nevertheless. I have plenty scents that allow me to play with the feelings evoked by Aventus. However I definitely see us being together one day.
I deleted my original review of this from about 10 months ago. Why you may ask? My nose has evolved and so has my understanding of this fragrance (along with other Creeds). What you will have here is a non-bias review (skip the hype wagons, skip the I hate the price, skip the disdain for Creed or the Creed cheerleaders).
My first experience with this fragrance was a year and a half ago. This was before I really knew what Creed was. I knew about GIT and MI but really didn't know much about fragrance houses nor about the rich history of Creed. A middle aged gentlemen so me looking at all these expensive frags and he told me it was his favorite bar none and then a woman came and gave me a sample.
I smelled it, thought it was different (I had never smelled anything like it) but paying what they were asking for was out of the question. I ended up getting another sample from the women's department but later forgot about them. I then got into fragrance reviews and this one was gaining steam. I jumped on the bandwagon wore my samples then eventually got in on a split, this was early in 2011.
Fast-forward a year and I have smelled almost everything from this house, have read and watched countless reviews on Aventus among other Creeds and am now finally ready to review.
Creed is HORRIBLE with its batch disparity. This is true. I have had three separate Millisime Imperiales, two seperate Green Irish Tweeds, and two separate Aventus'. They aren't as far apart as others claim but they are not as assembly line as most fragrances either. This could be good or bad, but for we humans who love a Big Mac this could be a real nerve wrecker for sure.
Aventus is all Pineapple/Apple/Smoke and Mossy. Think of someone skewing some fruit in the backyard on a smoker, however it is quite fresh which is contradictory.
The initial spray is a fruity pineapple and apple combo which is immediately joined by this woodsy/smoky vibe. The pineapple does last the duration of the scent (which 10 hours or more for me) but it is in the background. The smoke has to be the amber playing games (amber can be sweet or smoky). It almost plays like Amber Absolute yet it never become sticky or sweet it remains fresh yet dense at the same time.
This can be worn year around as the smokiness gives it an autumn feel, the fruitiness gives it a summer feel, yet the combination makes it great for spring. This could be the perfect signature scent and second to Original Vetiver (yet this fragrance destroys that one scent wise) it is the most universal to me. The projection for the first 6-8 hours is wonderful, the sillage is even better. I have NEVER worn this without being asked what I am wearing.
This is great in a suit, this a great first date scent, it is mature but not old mannish, it is youthful without being playful, fresh without being run of the mill, and complex without being confusing. This is the perfect fragrance.
If I were asked one fragrance to live with forever, this would be it easily. I own many great fragrances but for some reason Aventus is my one. I may invest in a full flacon and make this my signature, the only problem is I love frags too much :o)
Its very exspensive but nice.If u wanna save money buy the chanel bleu it smeels the same try it out chanel bleu!
OH MY...
Let's be nice now, fellas...!! People ARE actually entitled to their opinions (believe it or not) and even more so - to VOICE them. The fact that there are different views on a subject (in this case, Aventus), especially such passionate and polarizing views, is what lends & creates (IMHO) such great character and interest to this site.
This is a fragrance! That's all it is!! There is no use in creating a bit of disharmony or hostility on a forum that is meant for education and personal leisure. So please, let's call off the dogs, let others think and say what they might/may and leave the aggression at the login screen. Someone's opinion on a fragrance should NEVER be taken personal. OI VEI!
Thanks again,
JJ
*P.S. - I will actually post a review & my thoughts on this wonderful fragrance in a week. :-D
I was one of the first to bash Creed on their batch differences, and the price of this fragrance. I am happy to say that after I wore it for a couple of weeks, I really developed a love for it. It has one of the truest fir notes of any fragrance I have ever smelled, and just a wonderful base (I am lucky enough that it lasts 12 hours+ on me). I smelled Mont Blanc Legend, and it had shades of Aventus in it, but it didn't have the wonderful fir and birch, and it had this cloying lavender that was ultimately just too sweet for me. If you can be happy with Legend, then I am happy for you, as the price is far lower than Aventus, but I have to acquiesce and give Aventus its fair due. Aventus is truly unique, and the longevity and projection are above average, at least on me. I love the firry mossy base under the fantastic fruity rose that just doesn't quit. Long live Aventus.
I guess it's not really fir, but birch. The 2 smell similar to me. Deep fresh cut wood, with a smell that reminds me of all the wreaths and trees at Christmas time in the US.
I Dont like it. WTF! I tried this 3 times, and i feel like im going crazy. Everyone says it smells good. Is there something wrong with my taste? All i get out of this is hospital bandages (im not even joking) I will try it again, because i respect the opinion of other Reviews/members on Fragranitica.
Grade: D+
I tried Aventus, and I thought it was a nice fresh scent is not too complicated, in no way a masterpiece. Then I reminded myself that Creed did not get what I mean, too much money for a perfume to levels of a Hugo Boss!
Do not waste your money, Creed, synthetics like everyone else, can not always cost twice as much. IMO Creed should halve their price lists, it is outrageously expensive!
to Jerseryboy
what up dude. Can you please share with us
the batch number you have, according to Creed rep
certain batch numbers will be discontinued, seems they
put a number of different batches out to see what the best would be, at our expense of course
Thax my brother
I was planned to order this scent via the internet. But here in holland you dont have an perfumery to go for it and smell it only in amsterdam. So this isnt an ordinary perfume in an ordinary perfumeshop. Greets rudolf
I tried this one and I guess it's a well crafted fragrance but I'm not a big fan of black currant and vanille. I have been wearing Mont Blanc Legend for a while and I think the sweetness in the drydown comes from the dried fruit and tonka bean instead of the vanille and I think that's much nicer. Before you are going to spend over 200 dollars on this Creed you might want to try MB Legend as well ;-)
Materpiece.
The smell is unique with very good quality, very natural. It is smokey and fruty at the same time, projection its not great but it lasts a long way.
One of those perfumes that really make me a perfume snob, so different and classy
At the begining it was just ok, but the 3rd. time I tried it, it was out of this world
Oh! MY! GOD!
I have NEVER...NEVER smelled SO GOOOOODDDDDD mans perfume, it is not even good, it is just Brilliant! everything what I love about mans perfumes, scent is adorable!
Dos anyone knows where I can buy this in Ontario Canada if anyone knows can you please share your info thanks .
These are supposed to be reviews of what people think of the smell and their description of it... aren't they? Anyway, when I sample Aventus I will edit this........
I have never received more compliments than I have when I wear Aventus, such a terrific fragrance its hard to shop for perfumes after wearing such an expertly crafted scent.

Good scent, warm, nice, only not worth such big price :)
I often wonder if people actually have any experience with the fragrances they comment on. These descriptions are so misleading. Thanks Frunk and jersey Joe. This frag is a first ballot hall of famer
This is not quite yet a review but will be in the nearing future.
With that said... this is for the below members, who are claiming Aventus after one year is being discontinued. As well as all the people who also posted below believing what was said. Unfortunately not everyone knows your kidding or the source of your information. And as a fellow fragrance reviewer and lover, I often turn to sites like this and Basenotes for accurate fragrance news and information from our fragrance community. Remember not only crazy fragrance fanatics like us check fragrantica reviews out, we have to watch what we publicize!
Im seriously the furthest person from being a fragrance snob. I just hate to see misleading info and news get spread between such a wonderful community and group of people.

* I will add this until a full review is up. If anyone enjoys the smoky, woody batches of Aventus released in the past, then check out Byredo's Oud Immortel. The resemblance is shockingly similar!
idk what bottle you tried, but watered down is a bunch of BS when it comes to this fragrance. I got off the elevator 3 hours after spraying on me and was followed by a lady who said she could smell me down the hall. When I got to the gym later on that night 8 hours later and working out, I got complimented on my fragrance.
To say that this fragrance is watered down is BS. I have tried so many fragrances and have so many dusting away on my shelf. Out of all the fragrances I've tried, this one FOR ME is by far one of the strongest, provocative, in your face fragrances. I feel scared sometimes to walk insdoors because I feel im projecting too much.
By from Creed Boutique online. Ignore the batch BS because youll start doing that with everything you purchase swearing the last stack of bananas you bought had a slightly sweeter taste, or the cereal had a bit more barley in the last box.
Pfffff--please. Batches aside, try this bad boy. MI---gorgeous scent but that one is the WEAKEST scent ive come into contact with.
Creed's target is what I like to call us is cologne junkies.. This cologne is good, but really not $250.00
its insane, stays close to the skin, I mean really if
your going to spend tha much, dont yo want to make a statement, like , Polo, Issey, and so on,these are quality colognes, that make a statement! they smell good and they last, Aventus is way over rated, and watered down, dont be fooled that creed uses better ingrediants, thats BS...
I get this as a blind buy.its the Fresh version of Michael for Men by Michael Kors.don't waste your money first tray michael kors for men only cost 40$
When I think of creed, the first thing that comes to my mind are the high prices, I have only tried 5 of them BUT if there was ever any worth the Price Tag, it would be this one. There is still something puzzling me that I cant put my hands on, the initial spray has something smoky and crisp, nothin creamy about this, I dont know which one of those listed notes it is but its really nice, the pineapple is also present,it´s really elegant and a sillage monster too... not to mention the longevity, well... its an edp so one would atleast expect that at the least, most especially comin from creed. frankly after tryin I set up a piggy bank for it coz its really pleasant, the funny thing is that after askin the clerk why there´s only a tester and no closed bottles behind it, she said, this is our gentlemens favourite and smiled, creed still has to send a bunch to match the demand, she added... that about sums it up... the pineapple is really done very well in this, am beginnin to become a fan of fruity fragrances hehe, I cant imagine this bein discontinued. It has become my number 3 in my top 6 fragrances of all time to date even without havin ever possessed it, the 5ml sample sure did its job.
There is one thing people need to take into consideration when reading reviews or writing them. There is a big difference between different batches of certain creed fragrances. What you are writing a review about might not be the same juice someone else will get or already owns. I suggest people write the batch number of the fragrance they are reviewing. Some aventus batches smell more like ash, some are more fruity and smell like pineapple. There have been batched I didn't care for, and some that smelled very nice. Same goes with Creed's MI. I think this is a very important aspect of certain creed fragrances that has been totally overlooked on here.
Masterpiece!!!
Please don’t judge this stuff from first sniff, I actually had the feeling that this was a big mistake by Creed after the first weft but boy! After 10 minutes it turned to the most elegant perfume I ever smelled from Creed house.
Just perfect! 10/10
Aventus is probably my favorite fragrance.
While there's nothing "special" about it per se, it just works so well. The pineapple mixed with the rubbery/smoke/leather accord smells like a very good designer fragrance. But it's how this stuff performs - that's what sets it apart. Great projection and longevity, but never becomes too thick or cloyingly sweet.
It's smell won't blow you away at first sniff, but give it a bit of time, and you will be singing its praises. Worth every penny, and gets more compliments than any other fragrance I own.
A smell which can be easily sterotyped; and so once you place it in society, it looses its uniqueness and mystique..
It has as its base Creed Black for Love with an Italian masculine smell on top
Smelt worse, Ouch, how much? No thanks
A dinosaur smell, thought we had got past this Ferrari car smell???
The sweet pineaple fruity note can be detected just in opening.
It turn to a dry fruity ,woody, without sweetness and actually that what makes it versatile.
Can be wearable at work ,class, evening, all season.
Longevity about 10+ hours and projection is moderate.
And it's truly masculine!
Occasion: Spring, Summer and Fall, daytime, casual & formal.
Longevity: 8/10
Projection: 9/10
Scent: 10/10
Uniqueness: 10/10
Versatility: 9/10
OVERALL: 46/50
I WANT THIS STUFF SO BAD, ITS THE BEST FRAGRANCE I'VE EVER SMELT!
Creed Aventus begins with an explosion of fruity notes, especially pineapple, remembering very much the opening of Lacoste Essential Sport, but of course, without the synthetic side.
Over time the scent acquires a certain sweet tone, vanilla maybe .. but nothing very obvious, at least not on me.
Anyway, an excellent fragrance with a pretty variable longevity.
imagine a big hunky pineapple wearing leather jacket and smocking some cigarette and trying to attract other fruits (apple, current , bergamot).
Aventus smells like leathery ash plate that is filled with pineapple slices.
the smell is amazing,great,and unique
longivity and projection are decent.
the only down side is the price!!.
9/10
you must try this scent if you like fruity fragrances
The good:
Aventus is somewhat unique, has decent longevity, it's accessible, and the pineapple isn't too strong. It also exhibits the signature metallic ambergris base found in basically every Creed masculine since Green Irish Tweed.
The bad:
Aventus is utterly boring and doesn't really smell "good" by my standards. It doesn't "wow" me or make me come back for more. It smells watered down (keep in mind I tested both a store tester and a new sample on my skin), and for the most part all I get is some fresh/fruity notes, A LOT of patchouli, and the Creed base. It can be kind of headache inducing to me at times.
Bottom line:
Is Aventus worth it? No, at least not to me. However, I'd love to see that patchouli note paired with a good citrus or musk note in a Creed masculine in the near future.
I get this as a blind buy, and no regret at all, this is so special fragrance, fruity and fresh, pineapple is some of the secrets in here, this will be a good addition this summer, many people around you will be happy to smell you and ask you what are you wearing, expensive kind but it worth every ml. You pay for it.
I spry 4X at 7am and it's 3pm and still smelling.
Unless you got nose problems, this will be one of the best add to your Wardrobe.
All right then, today is THE DAY! The day I try AVENTUS on my skin for the first time. Usually I try to avoid reading any comments or reviews on a fragrance I have yet to try or will be reviewing if I have not read anything already (researching), to try and keep an open mind. After Marlen (perfumecritic) reviewed it formally on here, I decided I would most likely enjoy this particular offering from CREED. Only today did I realise the "community" was so polarised over this one, claiming everything from "been there done that" to grumblings of variations in batches, to love at first sniff...well, Lana Lool sent me a large full carded sample from the CREED counter, so here goes
*sprays from sample with own sprayer* (all the CREED samples I have are the "dab on" type, but having been told about the "blowing" thing and how it evolves or not by how it goes on the skin...so I erred on the side of caution here:
Wow...not bad. I am definitely getting fruit here, albeit a light blend of sheer fruits. Black currants (almost "plummy") along with crisp apple and bergamot swirl around with playful and (getting much sweeter now) creamy pineapple. I think, in this case anyway, I buy the "hype"; as I dabbed some juice from the lid/stopper under my wrist and then sprayed (in a long fine mist) the top of the same arm...underneath the wrist: some earthy and slightly floral air with a caloney feel BUT on top of the arm: an amazingly different array of notes and scents...much more airy and fresh and less sweet and thick. By Jove, it's true! The birch note here is more like white birch bark and not "tarry" or overly smoky at all. Rose and jasmine play quietly on a soft bed of fresh patchouli leaves. An interesting juxtapostion between male and female (woody and floral) notes. There is something here, as it goes on, that is giving me some kind of Deja Vu...but I will be damned if I can say "of what"?! This is, perhaps, the lightest "dark" fragrance I have ever sniffed. (Noir Lite? LOL) The finish (though this does have the usual CREED lifespan, ie: DAYS on paper, all day on skin) is soft and clean, but warm and sexy at the same time. Aventus intrigues me...but does NOT really "WOW!" me. (What IS that aroma that it reminds so much of??). Worth a decant or split? Sure...A full bottle at CREED prices? I am leaning towards a "no" here, though, if this is your thing, it would be soooo worth it to invest. Since it IS a quality scent for sure, just nothing all that earth-shattering. I shall (upon further wearings and finishing this generous sample) report back if my feelings have changed. Right now, as it stands, lovin it...but not in love with it!!
Sillage: above average
Longevity: excellent (as usual)
Overall: 4/5
Now then...I agree that this is (probably) the most mass market smelling or "popular" (I REFUSE to call it generic, as it is anything but) CREED scent I have smelled, but it is still very good. Quality? Obvious (duh?!) Class? For sure, Worth it?...*hesitates* get back to me on that, will ya?
Awesome fragrance!! Just bought my first bottle and I must say it is truly an experience. It's like smokey pineapple. It smells great and lasts all day. The first Creed which lasts me throughout the entire day!! Finally. This may very well be a keeper in my rotation.
I never thought I would shell out for a whole bottle of Creed, but damn... this is good! Maybe it just works on my skin, but this is one of the best things I've smelled in awhile. The notes are distinctive and of the highest quality. I usually go for dark, smoky scents, but I think this one is going to be my 'go to' cologne for the forseeable future.
Hate me, but for me Aventus is a fruity (and stronger!) version of Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme / Ralph Lauren Silver Romance, especially in drydown. I feel a masculine tobacco-like drydown with a mildness of fruits. Smells good, this is my type of scents. But! I've heard this before...
I know I'm gonna swim against the stream but I think that Aventus it's just another overpriced and overhyped fragrance by the guys at Creed. I generally love Pineapple in fragrances but Aventus fruity / bergamot opening is pretty conventional and not so well executed (If you like Pineapple try Biehl AL3). In the middle phase things get a little better with a slightly harsh and dusty flowery accord that lasts for a couple of hours. Then be prepared (again) for a conventional musky drydown.
Aventus is introduced as a "Provocative, masculine and optimistic fragrance" but I find it quite generic and a bit conventional. Overall Aventus is fine but for $250 you can have way much better fragrances, believe me!
Rating: 6/10 for the smell
10/10 for its popularity
Amazing fragrance! I was expecting a very fruity scent, which I am not into, but when I first tried it I could only detect the fruit for the first ten minutes and then I mainly got a light musk scent. I have to say I was disappointed, bit the more I wear Aventus the more I can detect the fruit scent. I have worn this about 10 days now, and Aventus continues to suprise me. It is very complex and evolving. I do not like fruity scents and do not like most musk scents, but this is blended so well and changes so distinctly that it works for me.
The only problem is the fragrance is so lite that I am not sure anyone around me can even smell it. I am married and really only wear cologne for my pleasure, but when I was single I would never spend so much money on something no one would notice. Try at least a 5ml sample before you buy.
I've been carrying around the sprayed card from Norstroms for about 24 hrs. now and I can't leave it alone. My intention was to buy this for my husband, but if that were to be, I think I would wear it more than he. The negative reviews here need to be explained better as this, in my opinion, is not a cheap drugstore smell. It is one of the nicest creations from Creed in quite sometime. I love Prada Infusion d'iris, this is just a little more masculine on me, and I LOVE it!
I can say that I LIKE this fragrance. I would be IN LOVE with it if the price werent so sky high! So what is this Aventus all about?! Well, it is kinda hard to explain the scent, but it does fit "chypre fruity" olfactory. This is the first for me to smell something from this category. It's a bit sharp insencey with some sweet tarty berry-like fruit and moist/wet wood. Mossy oak and patchouli are clean and enjoyable. The blackcurrant note reminds me a bit of Bond No.9 Bleecker Street at the opening, but in a more masculine and more natural feel. It is made for a modern man. A modern and RICH man, I say. It's unlikely that I would be able to afford one but I haven't given up yet. :)
The guy below was spot on. This is a great, fresh scent, masterfully constructed, but at 24 I am wayyyy too young for this. It is definitely an older gentleman's scent. I'll sample it again in another fifteen years... haha.
Okie Dokie! So I made the trip to the mall with smelling this cologne in mind. I didn’t read about it before smelling it on purpose as I wanted my thoughts to be authentic. I will read other reviews AFTER I write this one. Here goes.
This cologne is like real COLOGNE It’s not just fragrance. This stuff is definitive, structured and it MAKES YOU PICK A SIDE!!! I don’t see how anyone could smell this and feel indifferent about it. Almost like Patchouli; you either LOVE it or HATE it. With that being said overall I like this one though at first, honestly I thought it was a joke. When I first sprayed it, I thought “ that’s it?” this is the big too do? To be fair however, I took it home and let it hang around. That cologne swab smelled strongly of Aventus for DAYS!!!! And totally changed the way I feel about it. Being almost 30, I just don’t think it’s my time yet to wear this. Aventus smells like its creators didn’t have anyone under the age of 45 in mind in its creation although that could be wrong. I liked this cologne and I personally think that it smells like the makers of this ran across a fragrance that I can’t put my thought too right now but know that I have smelledand said…” NO NO NO…. this is how you guys meant to do it.” It’s definitely not a new smell but I think that it’s probably the most distinguished creed to date. There is no mistaking this one for any other Creed and whomever tries to copy it will probably have trouble trying to do so without people knowing right away.
So my final thought is a thumbs up but not just yet for a 29 year business man.
God, i think i have truely fallen in love. Initially sprayed this an thought it was very similar in structure to Bleu de Chanel and Boss bottled night but after about half an hour the class shines through. As i was walking about i kept getting wiffs of this in the dry down and i was blown away. I think i am going to have to take the plunge and splurge on a bottle...i may not be able to afford to eat for a month but boy, will i smell good.
Get into this beautiful and confident composition! Wearing this one can't help but be assured that they smell some version of their best. Perfect for Hugging and Loving! Fresh meets Power in this modern work fragrant art. I live for this! There is simply nothing like Creed! Another A+!
With Aventus it happens to me the same as with SMW. Love at the first sniff. It Has a special freshness and I find it original and different from what I had the pleasure of testing before. It creates in me a positive mood with those delicious fruity tones which are very handy in those moody days. Excellent Creed proposal and highly recommended.
It's lovely..and smells a damn site better than some of the stinky fuckers that use the London Underground..
10 outta 10....
Thanks Creed ;-)
Amazing Perfume !!!
Aventus revisited. I tested it on myself and still liked it but against the Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Universalis, which has a fair amount of aldehydes, Aventus smelled very blue, which was surprising given how fruity it smells in comparison to, say, Imperiale.
Brilliant and Refreshing!
I am a woman in her mid-20s and I usually go for the floral and the citrusy. However, I have not found a single women's Creed that I liked out of the ten I've tried including the new vanilla one. So I ventured to the men's, and voila. Aventus is the first Creed I have liked on myself.

Why the snooty trashtalk when a scent smells different on everyone? Are you calling yourself trash?
I see that others like the top notes, yes they smell good. The middle, on me, smells smokey. Sometimes more so than other times. My favorite is what comes last. It smells amazing. When I was first trying the cologne out before I bought it, some would get on my coat and you could smell its remnants for 2 days from about two feet away. Smelled great.
hears the short and skinny on this,
smells like the drydown of Chanel allure Homme Imo. Second, the ambergris has been cut way back on this one, which is a refreshing change for creed. lastly, the silage and projection has been boosted on this creed. 16 hours on my skin, 8 hours of full-blown projection waft. last 8 hours close to the skin.
Hi Can someone please let me know best creeds ive just purchased aventus and i think its fantastic, im new to creed, modern bloke.
Boooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrring!
It's a lot of " 'Eh "....
moving on now
Bought this at the weekend.. Road tested it in the office today went down well with the ladies and had quite few gents asking what it was as they wanted to get it themselves
Guys this is the best i have seen for long time....and any one that tries to compare this cologne against other is a very silly person with not enough taste & knowledge to valuate this piece of Art
....very well designed cologne
the price is fair...
10/10 that is my vote
Damn, this is frustrating. I've been waiting for this perfume for a long time and what I get? Copy of Bleu de Chanel with predictable, slightly woody and typically masculine base. Like Bleu, it's easy to like, easy to wear and easy to forget.
"Easy like Sunday mooorning..."
I own over 130 fragrances, and Aventus is currently my favorite modern fragrance from Creed. The top notes are a fantastic combo of tart apples and pineapple, the heartnotes are an intriguing mix of smoke with blackcurrant, and the base is rubbery smoky oakmoss with a touch of vanilla. Sounds Bulgari Black'ish but Aventus is more complex, quite a bit different, and sports much better quality of ingredients.
Aventus sounds heavy but it isn't...its actually a longlasting EDP fragrance (millesime) with low sillage, perfect for daily wear. Also, the fruity blackcurrant-smoky-rubbery accord smells nothing like anything on the market currently and it towers over current trash such as Bleu de Chanel and Guerlain homme. Definitely recommended.
Guys, don't buy this blind. Order the sample vial from the Creed website first because you may find that Aventus smells very much like a cheap 1980's drugstore aftershave. No kidding.
Fruit candy opening is o.k. and the generic musk drydown lasts a long time, but the middle part is kind of harsh.
$285 for this?? C'mon.
This is a unique fragrance, to be sure. Here's the skinny:
Top notes are fresh; and burn off quickly.
Middle notes linger quite a while and mellow the fragrance.
Bottom notes of oakmoss, ambergris, and vanilla mix quite well with the middle notes.
Is it typical Creed? No. It's distinctive, unique, and unique and doesn't smell "like" any other Creed. Is it unisex? Not really. It's very male. Is it good? Yes. Is it unique? Very much so. Is it worth having in your collection? Yes. Oh, and whenever I've worn this, I've received more comments than usual about how good I smell!
