Cuba Green is a refreshing and warm mossy-woods fragrance for men, blending leathery vetiver with sensual and aromatic woods. Available as 35 and 100 ml EDT.
I like it, it's fresh Green Woody Vetiver. Almost like a sweet Green Apple. some may say it has a powdery soapiness to it. It projects well. It's exactly what the bottle suggests, "Green" woody.
Smells almost like Coty "Aspen", but with a sweeter Apple vibe.
This seems to be an "homage" to Escape for Men, though I find this more subtle, and for me, in this case, that means more wearable. There seems to be a mild herbal element, rosemary perhaps, and the base is rather blended, though clearly a little ambery. At first, I think there is citronella, along with some fruitiness, and the latter persists for a long time. If you hate any fragrance that even hints at a "bubble gum" quality, avoid this one. Overall, it's okay as a change of pace, at least for me. The atomizer is very fine (on my 100 ml bottle) so I have to spray at least four times whereas I usually spray once or twice with other bottles. I'll give it a positive review because it's not "bad" in any way and for the price I don't feel justified in criticizing it for not having any "special" qualities. This is quite "rounded," so don't expect any harshness, "green" or otherwise.
I can understand gmmcnair's idea that this is somewhat similar to the original Polo. Some have claimed that Polo has been reformulated into something much tamer than what it was originally. If that's true, then gmmcnair may be right, but I'd call Cuba Green the baby food version of the original Polo, though it's more focused on a kind of light fruity/ambery thing rather than on the herbs, leather, moss, and tobacco, so it may not be fair to compare the two, depending upon which two are being discussed. It's sad we don't always know if we are talking about the same fragrance, due to reformulations, but I doubt the situation will get better any time soon.
I like this one...it definitely has a Polo Green vibe going on my skin. Longevity is dismal at about an hour, but the fragrance cost less than five dollars for a 1.1 oz EDT spray.
For what it is, it is quite nice.
