This rose is sweet, fresh and young smelling - like a bud that has just bloomed, where the petals are still full and silky. It opens with a fresh, watery tea note and then blooms into a garland of roses.
As La Rose Fleurette winds down there is a wonderful base exuding golden warmth in the form of honey and heliotrope; which gives the most delightful powdery almond smell. The honey is rich and sweet but doesn't completely take over from the roses; it's floral til the very end.
Perfection.
This is a lovely crisp fresh pink rose, which starts fresh and sweet at the same time. With time, the rose becomes slightly more honeyed, reminding me of rose petal jam, then slightly more fresh, like a pink rose in the wind, yet it's a true and beautiful rose all the way.
I think this perfume is not only very true to actual rose flower scent, it'a actually made from real stuff. In fact, my husband cannot smell some of my favorite roses, and he cannot smell this perfume after the first couple of minutes either. I can though (and I can smell the roses that he can't smell). We discovered this difference in the way we smell roses in a rose garden, calling each other to roses another couldn't smell!
Back to the perfume though. It's very uplifting, may I even call it optimistic. I stay with this beauty for about 2 hours, and then it's into its base of heliotrope and honey. I thought about reaching out for either Pure White Linen (heliotrope in the base) and White Linen (freshness with a honey note in the base), but didn't and was rewarded as the rose kept showing through the base with the same changing "windy" quality. Strange as it may seem, rose went away from my hair earlier than it did from my skin. In 1 1/2 hours my hair already had all heliotrope and no rose, but my skin still had rose smell.
Upd.: this lovely perfume kept playing hide and seek -- here's the rose, here's the base -- with me for more than 8 hours! I am impressed!
