This is actually one of my favorite scents that I've ever had. I don't know why but it's really different to everything else that I have and I just personally love it.
The negatives with this one are similar to what I said in my Beckham Instinct review. This doesn't really project well and it doesn't last long at all.
You really need to spray yourself several times to even be noticed.
But I love it despite that.
Smell - 9
Projection - 4
Longevity - 4
Overall - 7.5/10
ARGH...THIS SMELLS SO CHEEEEEEAP!!! I didnt have high hopes for it though, I bought it cause the bottle was attractive lol. Not into celebrity fragances anyway, got it for 10 bucks at marshalls. Its dark like Gucci Pour homme but no where near that good and complex. So don't know why the comparison. "Macho by Diane Paulen & TOmmy Bahama original" are knock off's of Gucci Pour home. But this Intimately crap has nothing to be intimate about. You can keep smelling it on yourself in hopes that it will creep up with a satisfying base note but its flat and theres no hidden magic. Great fragrances are the ones that have different notes and they compliment and mesh well together in harmony. This one just smells like you got any fragrance for the sake that its scented and mixed it up to make something without caring for the outcome. I wouldnt put my name on it if I were the Beckham's. It has an "expired fragrance gone bad due to heat" type scent. At least Gucci Pour homme develops with time then projects its complexities and mystery.
I think this has been done before, in the form of Rich Suede by Stetson.
That does not matter though because this has its own "angle" something a little different. It's funny, most other "celeb" scents seem to be dismissed but I am interested in trying Beckham's line........why?........because the guy seems to carry himself rather well.
Every time I see him being interviewed he seems dressed very well, and not just in the general sense but with a flair. It's funny, the guys I know and hang around with make fun of his wife, she seems like a high maintenance type, but she's not bad on the eyes.
I feel this scent is a good one that might catch a lady's attention. It is smooth.....like suede.......also, it is not too strong. On my skin it does not project very well but it is of a mid-level longevity. Try it.
The bottle looks like a cheap Gucci pour homme, and the scent smells like a cheap Gucci Envy for men.
2 fantastic scents, but this is only a "very good-factor".
Nice smelling and very masculine.
smells like tea/cola.
The best from the Beckham fragrances!
- great longevity and projection, about 5-6 hours.
best for fall, and spring.
8/10.
- A must try.
Smelled it today at boots,
great frag, thought it would be cheap!
7/10
I like tea, but not of this type. And also not the kind of nutmeg scent I enjoy. In fact, it immediately reminded me of Boss Soul.
smells like tea. I like it
I am typically prejudiced to celebrity fragrances, especially overrated sports stars and their pop tart girlfriends or wives or whatever, but I really like this, not so far as to love it just yet.
I tried it when I tried Instinct (which sucked arse btw, talk about generic) and this was more my taste. Definitely winter fragrance, too warm for summer.
I compare it very closely to Dirty English, an on-off favorite of mine, and Gucci pour homme II, as the bergamot mixes with the spices and lays soaking into a body of woods. The first 5 minutes was my favorite part, but I'm still very happy with the dry down.
I have to agree with John Buoy, this smells almost like Gucci ph2 for a while, even though the only matching note is Bergamot. Though at first i thought he was wrong, sorry bud!
I picked up the 75ml for $29au, the only reason I bought it mind you, and I think thats a good buy for a winter corporate/casual smell.
Also try the night edition, also very nice, but upon attempt to purchase it tried it again and went for this instead. My guess is that when I first tried these two fragrances it was summer. Now being winter, Intimately seems alot nicer that Night.
Go for Intimately in the Autumn and Winter.
I bought it, I like it. It lasts about 3-4 hours on me.
This is a copy of Gucci PH, only not as strong.
I was looking for an everyday, office elegant perfume for my husband and tried Beckham Intimately, although I am not a fan of celebrity scents, with some exceptions anyway.
The fragrance is really lovely, clean, elegant and appealing with obviously masculine notes, but does not end up with that ridiculous "macho" impression. I liked it on my skin even, although I wouldn't dare wear it myself in public. I was almost ready to buy a bottle for my man, but decided to check the longevity, and lucky me that I postponed my decision.
The fragrance literally does not last more than an hour. What a shame and pity.Apart from that the smell is great, but it is not enough for a good cologne.
What the heck?
I really wanted to like this fragrance. When I first took a whiff of this it reminded me of the Mcgraws, and to a certain extent Micheal Kors. Not exactly the same, but still a fragrance along those lines. Walgreens has this scent marked down to $8.99 a bottle right now. That should have been my first clue (since I had not read the reviews here yet, as this was an off the cuff buy after seeing the price and smelling it), but I still bought a bottle anyway.
I love the inital hit of this scent. Alas though as almost everyone here has noticed it just seems to disappear???
Almost like a very weak and watered down Mcgraw Southern Blend. The difference besides the latter being a better scent, is the longevity.
I just got this today for my husband, he'll wear anything that I like because I'm the only one that matters! I love it. I bought it with never having smelled it before because anything Beckham for male or female I have loved so I knew this would be fine. I think it's great for anything, from barefoot and jean cutoffs to a formal wedding. When something is this good, it's good ANYtime. This is like a super model, doesn't matter what she wears because she's lovely in anything. This is is grand, no matter where you wear it or with what you wear it. It's very peppery to me and that's what I like. For some reason, peppery signifies clean to me. This is a very manly smell to me, of course I'm not educated in quality scents be it male or female but I know what smells good to my nose! Everyone at work loved it. I wore it so everyone could give me their opinion and I'm not the only one that thought it was extremely nice.
I found the shower gel for this at a discount outlet for 1.50 so I figured why not? I was very impressed with its woody-spicy-green aroma that was slightly sweet and earthy but still kind of fresh, so a month or so later I bought a small EDT spray and was quite content with it. This is not something I would wear on a daily basis or to a formal occasion but it is very apropos in certain situations...
The opening of this is bitter and slightly warm and sweet but I would not call it "medicinal". The citruses are bittersweet and sharp while the cardamom is warm and soft. In the heart I really enjoy the soft violet aura warmed with nutmeg and sweetened by anise.(For some reason it reminds me slightly of Christmas time) The drydown is not strong for something with patchouli, amber and sandalwood, but it's nice enough and quasi-oriental. (The Industry has watered these notes down and uses them so often in mass market releases, I call it the SAP finish; if you don't know how to finish a scent just add some SAP...they'll buy it up!). IB is aromatic (at least at first)but I don't know if I agree with the fougere labelling, to me it is more of an oriental woody or woody-green spicy...
Sillage: very close
Longevity: could be better
Overall:3.25/5
Though this bears a slight resemblance to Gucci PH it does not develop the same or last nearly as long, or project much after the first half an hour. Remember it is called "Intimately Beckham", so the fact that the initial invigorating notes fade to a spicy floral heart and dry to a woody earthy skinscent makes total sense, it's meant to be something your companion smells in times of intimate contact. It is what it says it is and take my word for it...it's nice for both you and your (ahem) friend when things get close!
I bought this cologne for a very good price. I sprayed it on before I left the store and got in my car. In the 10minute drive home, the fragrance disssapeared and I couldn't smell a damn thing.
The smell itself is ok, nothing great. Intimately Beckham has the worst longevity I have ever seen, regardless of how many times you spray it.
I suppose its pleasant enough but it does smell cheap... i doubt it will offend anybody though.
I would never buy it, and not because im a snob, but because i don't think its a good quality fragrance.
Im quite happy to come across something thats cheap and high quality (jacomo de jacomo rouge is brilliant), but this stuff is just badly made.
ok being very honest i seemed to like this fragrance, it has a great musky fragrance rare to find accompanied by some good woodsy and green note, attracting the nose well its lasting may not be soo good but the overall fragrance and the shape of the bottle is fair enough.. i would say u should give it a try!
Got it love it!a guy told me i smelled good and i.m a woman.so on me it.s amber sandal wood and violet and patchouli with some cardamon.so women can wear this one.and i.m sure on a man it.s smells gd too.its a leather smoky kinda scent.love it*
I swear it smells like burnt cotton candy
Not a good perfume. Very strong when it dries down but does not last long on a sunny day. Must be better for a cold evening. Spicy and Woody. It has the masculine effect blended with kind of sexiness. I can't say I like it very much :(
This is definately a cheaper watered down version of gucci pour homme , doesnt last long either and the bottle is very plain .
Simply hated it. Bought it blindly for my regret... A cheap and weaker version of Gucci pour homme. Run away from it.
My boyfriend got given this one for Christmas a year ago. I am not a big fan of celebrity fragrances and even less of a fan of the beckhams, but this went beyond what I had feared. Tacky, sickly, cheap and nasty. Ended up being used as bathroom spray.
My husband won't ware it so I ware it! Its beautiful but like the woman's version-IT DON'T LAST LONG!!! I would ware this by the dump truck load if it had lasting power but Im not wasting my money on this again! Its a very citrus and dark divine scent, very harmonious for man or woman (who likes dark scents).
The opening of Beckham's Intimately is really herbal and you can smell some lemon note in the background (I guess it's grapefruit). That's the worst "part" of Intimately, but hopefully it ends after 4-5 minutes. For the most of the time middle notes will dominate - I can smell nutmeg mixed with violet and although I can't smell any anise I believe it is the ingredient that gives the perfume slight sweetness. After 3 to 4 hours it's possible to smell a hint of sandalwood in the background but still it is really shy I'd say.
After I smelled the herbal beginning which, for me, smells like anti-rheumatism massage oil I thought Intimately is not for me. But hopefully this smell lasts no longer than 5 minutes and as the perfume dries down it gets better and better and warms up with every minute and the scent gets in fact really intimate and warm. Sillage is not ovewhelming - it is rather safe perfume that says "hello I'm here" but not straight in the face. Longevity is beetween 4-5 hrs so it's rather average.
All in all I find this as nice cold days fragrance as it really warmens the day when I wear it. On summer day I guess herbs would be to much for me so I reccomend it for colder weather. The fragrance is nt mature enough for experienced man but I find it ideal for young people with mature personality. It's not offensive in any way so it's easily wearable during the day as well as for evenings. The image that appears to me with a sniff as it dries down is me sitting by the fire with a cup of earl grey tea.
It is a good woody/spicy fragrance, with great bottle and packaging, and not too expensive. good work done by DVB.
I really liked it and always get good compliments whenever i wear it. It has good sillage and longevity esp. in summer season. but it is a perfume for cold evenings.
I smell distinctive tea and warm woods notes in it. there is not too much transition of notes. But overall i have a good experience about it.
i give it 7 out of 10
I was always curious as to how this would smell. In fact I am somewhat impressed.
Intimately Beckham for Men is mostly a spicy and woodsy scent. Not overly complex but not bland and boring either.
The opening, while sharp and sudden, is strangely likable with its sour grapefruit and earthy and herbaceous cardamom. The drydown only becomes increasingly spicy and warm possibly because of the patchouli making its presence known.
I love that this fragrance is subtle and 'intimate' it truly is. The softness is very sexy and mysterious.
I quite like this fragrance. It has a strong sharp aromatic start, which dies down quite quickly (within a couple of minutes) to a pleasant fragrance in which spices are predominant.
nowonder they sell this in a pharmacy it smells like medicine. cant imagine paying any money for this it just dosent cut it, its short lasting and cheap quality and i can find scents 10 times as good for half the price online
I was at Walgreens last year and walked by their display of their collection of perfumes. I'm at Walgreens drug store ok? this isn't no Van Maur or any type of high end department store or even just a ordinary department store like JCPennies. anyways. It was the worse cologne I've smelt in sooooo long! Sorry NO THANKS David Beckham! I HATE that old man smell ICK!!
one word... horrible
this stuff smells synthetic like some form of medicine it is gross and it is so fake that nobody with any taste in cologne would waste their money on this
I was deciding between the signature for him and this one but the stores i went to didnt have it. So the cologne smells very nice and lasts very long. I would say the target audience is young teens with mature personalities. Very nice smelling but i prefer the signature for him. =(
AT THE BEGINNING THE SMELL IS TOXICATING AND VERY VERY BAD. Once you wait 30min to 1 hour it gets alot better and you can acually stand the smell.
A bit sweet and fresh... its soapy
I scarcely detect the violet, a very watery citrus, anise... and a very very subtle hint of nutmeg... A mixture like very watery tea with many ice cubes :) Nothing about pachouli, sandal, amber... where are they????????????
At least, the impression its poor
If this is the "intimate" fragrance of David Beckham... what a disappointment!!! hohoho :)
I like this, it smell very fresh and nice.
This is the fragrance which you can experience the disgusting qualities of a fougere. I really cannot stand it.
"Not a date cologne" is true, which is strange for a scent called Intimately. Late in the dry down it would be more suited for romance. A better date scent under this name would be the Intimately Night version that has a warmer, semi-sweet with patchouli and woods glow to it. Night is a better choice for intimacy.
I find Intimately Beckham safe but a little too light. A slightly boozy opening, safe dry down. It's gentle, spicey, dry down is close and inoffensive, and is the best part of the whole scent. The longer after the application it is, the better it smells. Because of that, it's best to put lots on to get a better sillage later in the dry down. It's longevity is on the short side. Everyday, low-key, but slightly different scent.
Edit: I have found that I can really enjoy this on a cold winter day. It's ok in the summer, but the warmth rounds off the notes before they can reach the nose. On cold days the soft, safe notes retain some sharpness, or distinctness. Still a 'safe' scent, but more interesting, and slightly longer lasting.
this one smells like a strong alcoholic drink, to me. but i still can't remember which. maybe coignac?
This is a pleasant cologne, but not one that will get you noticed. It is fine for the office though, and I actually like it -- not as an attention getter, but as a "nice" fragrance (this is the first one I bought when I was getting back into buying colognes). At first, it smells good and a tad "spicey" -- think "cinnamon" -- probably the cardamon coming through, but nothing "WOW!" After several minutes, the fragrance becomes more of a soft "powder" scent. Some might find the fragrance a bit "soft". Not overly manly (I don't think women would want to wear it though). If you are a lawyer or police officer, or some other position that needs to state "power", then I would not recommend this fragrance for you. If you are just starting out, then I think this is a nice first cologne for just general use. Not a date cologne. Overall, a simple, "safe" fragrance. So, if you want to smell nice at the office and aren't wanting to attract too much attention, this is a good fragrance for that. It has a very long fragrance time, easily 5 hours or more.
