Holy Water is a fragrance introduced in April 2009 and available as 15ml purse spray, 15ml cologne spray, 30ml cologne spray, 125ml cologne spray... The fragrance presents innocent aromas of holy water in an old church somewhere in Europe. The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian.
I wanted to like this simply for the name alone! It was just way too cloyingly floral for me, though, and gave me a banger of a headache.
All the below reveiws are very accurate and indeed for once I have nothing to add I have simply liked all the below reveiws :)
Like many of the demeter range I find the staying power of this scent fleeting :)
This is similar IMO to Snow, but much better. Where as Snow smells strictly of ozone, this is more complex. The cold ozone smell is present, but there's also a slight woody smell, little bit of a flower smell and maybe a little incense? I bought this one blind out of sheer curiosity. Nothing I would wear, but not unwearable.
I have a purse spray, anyone want to swap?
This is a surprisingly complex scent by Demeter since most of their fragrances are based on single notes. It also does not smell like holy water. It is more of a concept fragrance. I get cold stone and lilies with a little bit of green. It's very clean, which I like, because that's how I feel when I dip my fingers into the holy water when I get to mass. I use this on my linens a lot because it's calming and lasts far longer on fabric than on my skin. If holy water actually smelled of something, I think this would be pretty close.
Perfumed myrrh and a watery sense of maybe lilies, like a floral incense. It's okay, though doesn't resemble holy water in any way. Rather a nice light fragrance for day wear, with the usual caveat that the Demeter scents seldom last long or have much sillage.
It's a young version of an old lady perfume, if that makes sense. Strong but still clean.
