Salt Air is a scent of sea breeze from the sunny beaches of your favorite tropical island. It is available as a cologne spray of 30 and 100 ml. Salt Air was launched during the 2000's.
This one's actually not that bad. beach-like, reminiscent of beach, sand and salty sea/ocean water.
It dries down to white floral scent with beach like elements off course.
silage 2 hours max.
This is my favorite base perfume. I use it under other perfumes to give them a bite of salt. On its own, it's subtle and amazing, but under, say, Marc Jacob's "Daisy," it gives the flowery scent a kick of energy.
A word of warning: it's rather strong, so if you're using it as a base perfume, do just one spritz in front of you and walk through it. Otherwise, it'll overpower your main scent.
I love this scent! Smells so summery! Fresh and clean, and sexy too! One of my go-to fragrances. The only drawback is that it doesn't have great staying power.
While this scent is beachy, it is not what I had hoped. The overall experience, as blended with my skin chemistry, was not salty but cloyingly sweet. It clung to me for hours, even though I walked in sun and wind, and I couldn't stop thinking of air freshener.
Before going to the beach, I sprayed one arm with Salt Air, and left the other unscented. Devious, no? Or maybe just tragically redundant.
Hours later, subjected to heat, sweat, the ocean breeze and a long dip in the Atlantic, the Salt Air arm smelled just the way I *think* my skin smells after a day on the beach. My right arm, exposed to a day on the beach
un-Demetered, seemed unscented by comparison.
This one should win an award for tenacity: it survived sun, sea, and sweat. It also gets points for not having that buttery note that makes some beach scents sticky (M. Hulot's Holiday, for example). Long-lasting, too. My favorite beachy scent so far.
I love the whole concept of a fragrance library, and Demeter has done a wonderful job of creating single note scents for wearing and blending, as well as some interesting blended scents. Salt Air is one of these...
This begins rather fruity in a light way with a great salty note, like salt on warm watermelon. The fruity hints quickly fade and it becomes much more airy and green, with that beachy tinge you get walking along the ocean's shore. I can almost see the palm leaves waving in the seaborne wind, and feel the warm sand underfoot. A brilliant capturing of air on water where it meets the land. Gather some driftwood for a bonfire, and mix a pitcher of tropical drinks and the seaside experience would be complete...
Sillage: okay
Longevity: decent
Overall: 3.5/5
I expected a harsh salty note and ozone or aldehydes, but this is really nice! It is more than a single note scent but slightly less than an EDT. I like this much more than I thought I would. Dry, fresh and brisk-it does the seaside thing very well...almost like Set Sail St Bart's sans exotic fruit and booze.
And, really, who says the salty sea air smell (one I love) belongs to women solely? This is definitely a unisex fragrance.
*A special thanks to you, chelle2513, for the HUGE spray sample!! I'm really diggin' it...*
