The first time I applied Diptyque EAU LENTE I discovered that it is as strong as its golden amber color would suggest—more of a perfume concentration than an edt, it seems to me. Eventually, the composition dries down to a smooth and luscious amber. Unfortunately, to get there one must suffer through a spice-cabinet opening, which is so clove-heavy that it somewhat ruins the journey for me. I tried a second time, applying the edt quite a bit more lightly but still found the opening unpleasant. To my nose, this perfume is simply unbalanced, and it's not worth the wait to get to the fine drydown since there are plenty of amber perfumes around town which are a joy to wear from start to finish. Désolée.
It smells lovely, but for me it seems a bit too foody, actually it mostly reminds me of the cinnamon bubble gum, I do enjoy it, but I wouldn't like to smell like this, the main note on my skin definitely is cinnamon, it even seems that it's the only note i'm feeling. It reminds me a lot of Les Nereides Imperial Opoponax, I really find them both to be the same, although Eau Lente is a bit sweeter and warmer. Reminds me a lot of Christmas and this might be a lovely thing to wear in a cold weather. The perfume it self is kinda inviting and sexy, I wonder how this would smell on a man.
If you like bold spicy fragrances you can't miss Eau Lente. Cinnamon and Cloves in the opening joined by boatloads of opoponax. A simple, yet complex fragrance with a classic, quasi ancient structure, magistrally executed to become tremendously modern. I'm personally not very compelled / appealed, but if you like opopnax and spices you've to try this.
Not an easywear, not for everybody and absolutely remarkable.
Rating: 7-7.5/10
I love cinnamon and spice, but this was too much for me. It reminded me of the red hots candy-even though it wasn't exactly sweet. The cinnamon just wouldn't quit on me, that's about all I got from Eau Lente.
I did like this a lot when I first tested it, but since trying this I've found my favorite spice which is Kenzo Jungle l'Elephant. Eau Lente would be fabulous on a man.
Being a cinnamon lover, I couldn't dislike this perfume. The cinnamon is the strongest note in the bunch, lasting from start till finish. There is also a vanillic quality to it, making it calming and comforting. However, the whole combination ends up giving me very strong 'men's aftershave' vibes and it's the aftershave rather than the men's in it that bothers me and makes it not FB worthy for me. Lasting power is pretty good on me, 6 hours and counting.
Very interesting perfume, quality and uniques at the maximum. very long lasting
Unique, challenging yet beautiful especially after 30 minutes of wearing it. In conclusion - you get clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon, on a oppoponax base; masterfully blended.
This scent is warm and spicy. First whiff is that of cinnamon but sweet bordering on masculine. The heart is a blend of cloves and cardamom which gives a lemony character. Finally, after about an hour you get the final note of vanilla with the opoponax. Eau Lente makes you want to look androgynous or even bohemian...very sexy for me. Staying power is good, 5 hours for the EDT. Will I recommend this scent to a woman? Definitely!!!
This is Habanita, without the fruits! I couldn't believe how much this smelled like it's base notes. If you like the style of Habanita, then you need to try this one. It is too close to it for me, don't need a 2nd one...but this is a VERY beautiful sophisticated powder scent.
It's weird stuff for weirdos. Hence it's suitable to confuse the people. Perhaps someone somewhere out there will even love you for wearing it. Me, I'd find it interesting.
This one is fascinating. Not necessarily beautiful, but it is captivating like a picture you can't stop looking at, or a book you don't want to stop reading. Try it out, but only if you're a male, as it doesn't suit females.
Not a fan, its like a dry spice mixture with some opoponax and it smells slightly masculine, that's not what bothers me though, it's just this weird slightly-off sensation I get at the start, and then it dries down to powdery opoponax. Poor lasting power too.
I don't like the cinnamon, but the opoponax is really warm and this lasts really long.
This is mostly strong cinnamon for about half an hour, then dries to a lovely myrrh and spice. Dries down very delicate and almost vanillic. The cinnamon benefits from smelling like the real thing instead of a red candy, but it is pure cinnamon for that first half hour and nothing else. The dry down is lovely, however.
