this could easily be a unisex fragrance... It is not feminine at all and somehow reminds me of something a man should wear, i get clean cotton smells nice and all but not something i would ever purchase.
I've always wondered what this smelled like? Everyone is always saying how wonderful it is. So I stopped at Walgreens to pick up some deodorant and there it was a bottle sample. I asked the lady behind the register if I could sample it. I was thinking this was gonna be awesome. I really don't know what the big deal is? Smells like lemon. Whoopee?!!
I used to have I love Love and Funny, I can see why people find similar but they are not...
I love Love is way much sweeter, and Funny doesn't have the woody notes that LB has.
Light blue is way more grown up comparing with other two scents and more lonlasting. I like wearing it during winter too, when I want something light to calm me...
It can make my day!
Unfortunately too popular and too expensive :(
Smells like teen spirit :)) However, I could not wear it anymore... feel it somehow synthetic, without a development on my skin.
Was expecting a light, summery, crisp citrus scent -- got a sort of lemon furniture polish fragrance, with a hit of bitter woody astringent, instead. I can't find anything feminine about this fragrance at all ... for that matter, I wouldn't recommend it for men either! Just not an attractive fragrance.
It smelled really nice in the bottle but on my skin ... not so much. I might as well have cut a real lemon in half and rubbed it on my skin. I would definitely get the same effect. Not to mention the expensive price!!
It makes you feel good, in peace. The lemon is the first note, and there's also something sweet. It brings me back to my childhood. Great for summer, but in winter it could make a good job if want something that warms your days.
I used it for a couple of years, it was my first love but now everybody have it... I changed when i found something synthetic in it.
i'd like to buy it in summer. One thing i worry about is that plenty of people like and have it. I think LB is a very fresh and citrusy scent. to me it's kind of unisex smell.
This smells like pink lemonade. Later I get a little apple, florals, and maybe some wood with it.
It's very strong and VERY sweet on me but gives an impression of being light and clear. Lasts a few hours tops. Nice enough scent. People seem to love this, but it's not for me.
I am amazed by how many people think this is similar to Moschino Cheap and Chic. 282 people! The numbers of reviews must also be a record. Oh!
2002 my sister and I were in Alcudia and went to a perfumeshop the very last evening. That was the first time I smelled Light Blue and I was taken by its charm and beauty. The sad thing is that you could smell it on every people around you and that was the reason that my interest faded away. It is a fruity delight, extremely cozy, and perfect for every occasion BUT, too common.
I will say this fragrance is elegant maneater.
Very sad that some people dont smell it or feel it as light smell. When i first time smelt it at shop i imagine always business lady from office taking flight to dubai. I will not describe it sexy i would describe it more as classysexy.
@vonwinklestine I was a child, I never knew ebay even excisted.
Fresh and inoffensive, this is a great everyday perfume. I love the way it smells in the bottle, but unfortunately, the citrus notes soured on me. I typically prefer warmer orientals, but thought this would be a great summery scent for me. After all, everyone has it, so why wouldn't I love it as well?
The fresh citrus just didn't mingle with my body chemistry well. This is a great perfume for many, but beware that the acrid lemony notes might not be for everyone. The scent does not last long and practically disappeared after a few hours. All I was left with was a slightly more sour odor at the end of the day.
Irisfvh-you are crazy, you could have got $40, $50 on ebay...
I hate this. If you like sweet fruity and flowery perfumes, i wouldnt go for this.
I got it when I was 17 as a birthdaygift, and it smelled horrible to me. I tried to give it to my sister, friends, mom, familymembers, classmates, and everyone said NO WAY after smelling this. I had to throw the expensive bottle away, I simply couldn't get rid of it....
I have a little story with this perfume. At first my dad told me about it and when I smelled it, I didn't pay much attention to it. Months later I bought it after seeing some reviews, and well wanted to try it..
It has a very fresh clean smell, perfect for everyday, but the surprising part is, how much men love it. The first day I wore it, I was told over and over again of how good I smelled. My boyfriend always comments when I wear this perfume, and it lasts all day. I just love it. <3
definitely worth the money, I wish I had a bigger bottle :)
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is the perfect scent for the summer. It smells so clean and fresh with a hint of wootsy and citrus notes. However, I totally have to agree with a few of these reviews it seems like everyone and their mother has this fragrance which for me thats a bomber! :-( Another thing is that its super light and doesnt lasts all day, atleast not on me. But I will still recommend for everyone to give a try.
My favourite perfume in the world! Funny thing is when i was 16 i smelt it in a perfume shop at the airport and i hated it! Either it was a very old bottle or my tastes in perfume just changed, but i adore it now! It has the freshest, cleanest smell ever. I find this has been copied alot, and i can only wear light blue not any of the other brands that have tried to copy it, because they never smell very nice to me. I love love just smells too "spicy"
My favourite part is not the first spray when it is still very lemony, but when you've had it on for a while and it jsut smells...clean, like fresh clothes or something. It makes me happy everytime i smell it reminds me strongly of happy summer day. I think i will always come back to this perfume.
Also i hear people saying "everyone wears this" maybe it's more popular in the usa, i'm from the uk and it's a rare occasion when i smell this on someone, love when i do though.
The fragrance can be very annoying but it's also uplifting. I wear it only from time to time, because it can make you feel annoyed of the strong one note going on and on (lemon, apple, cedar). It's fresh and clean and has a pleasant wood note. Light Blue is also similar to Moschino's I Love Love - I Love Love has different citruses. I see similarity to L'Imperatrice in the meaning of uplifting mood and going on high note all the time. Definitely not my favourite but who doesn't know it yet (are there any?), may try.
Absolutely beautiful. Have you fallen out of love with this scent? Then give it a break! One day you will come back to it as I did, and fell in love again!! If you loved it once then you can again! Recommended to all, I dont know a single person who doesnt like this one :o)
Like many relationships, this has run its course. It is an uplifting quasi-citrus people-pleasing scent. But smelling it too often, on too many people, in too many places, has taken away the magic. Same old, same old.
i am sorry for those who love you but i can't smell something special and almost everyone is wearing you like a gem please what am i missing?i guess citrus is not for my skin give me nice orientals or something warm and sweet but not fruity...
It has a faint citrus aroma. It is never overpowering, but does not make a strong impression. If you want something subtle, this is right for you.
This is a lovely scent. The feminine version smells almost like the male version, the only difference is a distinct sweet note. It is fresh, long lasting and very nice. I do not smell it on everyone and I asked my SA if she sells a lot of it and she said the sales of it are mediocre and she has noticed a decrease over the years. None the less, this is a staple piece. Perfect for summer or days when you want to feel summerish!
Perhaps one of the most copied fragrances. D&G Light Blue, I believe, is among the most popular citrus woody fragrances. It remains essential to every perfume collector's wardrobe or if not, familiar to everyone who cares about perfume. If you do not own it, you know how it smells like. Light Blue is one of those fresh fragrances that have good lasting power, fresh without being too sour, and feminine without being too girly. Light blue is easy to like, almost like a white T-shirt. Overly popular, very distinctive, an indispensable staple. Wear it anytime you cannot think of what fragrance to wear. Pleasant and failsafe, like a crisp shirt freshly laundered in lemon tinged detergent--a perfect "pick me up" fragrance on warm days.
I liked smellDanielles' review and think that it sums up this perfume perfectly.
"My all time favorite. Fresh and bright. Like freshly washed linen on a clothesline in the summer. It makes me feel clean and I get many compliments when I wear it."
:]
Strange that it does not have a lasting power on many people. It is one of the most long lasting for me. Great perfume.
Perfect summer frangrance
My all time favorite. Fresh and bright. Like freshly washed linen on a clothesline in the summer. It makes me feel clean and I get many compliments when I wear it.
My favarite womens fresh scent for summer when i smell this on a person i just want to floow them and breath everything the leave behind. Also im a sucker for this scent if i do smell this on a person i always give them a compliment even if i try not to.
Scent 9/10
Nice one, not great, just nice. i imagine wanting to put this on after gym, if i went to the gym that is lol Its VERY cytrusy, lotsa lemon and lime, which i like, just not for every occasion. nice for an early spring day i guess. and after gym :}
me encanta, soy hombre pero juro q lo usaria :D, me gusta mas el el eu fraiche.
I really love this scent on other people but on me it takes on a sort of buttery quality that is very unappealing. Definitely a bummer.
for me this is an aquatic-citrus and a little bit floral (just a little) fragrance, a childish one. it is nice, but it is for beginners. also it is similar to moschino-funny and yves rocher-naturelle.
One perfume that I love...but my husband hates it!! Gave a whole 100 ml of this away to a friend, was very heartsore about it..I love the fresh smell of the perfume
Too unisex, cold and lemony+creamy! I am really not the audience for DG Light Blue.
This scent is wonderful citrusy and piney. I love the woodsy pine scent that it has! Such a great perfume for really any time of the year. I usually wear it for daytime. IT is not overpowering and has pretty good lasting power, I get lots of compliments from both men and women with this scent. IT really could be a unisex scent. They also have the men's version of light blue.
I dont understand the hype, this parfum is OK. The scent is not warm or sexy. But a cold one.. just like the add depicts. I think men could wear this also.Don't like the citrus that is in it. What kind of women want to smell sexy like a citrus :p
I used it a lot. But just never seem to really love it. This cant match up to the sophisticated parfume's of Dior or Chanel. I wouldn't splurge on this there are better parfumes on the market.
The bottle needs a serious revamp! Shame on you D&G
Fresh and sexy - if only this had not sold well and been worn by every woman in the free world! This fragrance suits my chemistry so well but sadly I would feel like just one out of an unoriginal throng wearing this.
The first 5 minutes you'll smell lemon, pinsol?
I eagerly wanted to wash it off but waited, oh my gosh
Am i glad i waited!!! The warm musk scent you get
Towards the next minutes is unbelievable. Very nice and sultry
And still light. Nothing overpowering.
Even though it is a summery citrus scent, i love this
Best during winter. Makes me feel cozy and warm.
I wear this all the time and love it! I used to wear Clinique Happy, I like this better.
great for summer, reminds of sea side vacations. light, fresh, airy, lemons lots and lots of lemons..sunny weather, this is like the sun touches your body and warms you up, you look at the sky and you feel happy. positive smell and a nice fragrance alternative to give as a gift.
Huh. Well, I don't really have alot to say about this one, but plenty of other people do, so it's probably all covered....
This is very popular, and I guess I can see how it suits a ggod deal of people easily. To me this is fine. It's inoffensive and easy. Not beautiful to me, but not unpleasant either. Just meh. Maybe that's just my chemistry. But if it works really well, for you, nice :) It's all about personal taste.
Not the best fragrance for the Summer as I expected. what I didn't like about it "mixing lemon with Cedar" to strong and not refreshing I'm not gonna buy it again.
sorry for the accent I'm not native speaker :)
I bought this after I smelled it on my daughter. Mistake. I believe it got confused with my chemistry. It didn't carry the 'earthy' notes which I like but more a 'floral' scent which made me want to wash off after a while.
wore this on my wedding day. my husband loved it. smells lovely.
I liked this long time a go.. I still, and my huband seems either. No others like this scent. So fresh and cool. A cheap cologne in my country made of this scent..exactly..of course it's not stay as long as Light & Blue
Additional Dec 11 2011:
Now I knowthat some perfumes are similar with this, but still "Every Perfumes" had its own taste, then chemistry, climate, weather...their reaction diffrently of each other.
I have always liked this one for work. Clean, not cloying, and soft notes that compliment each other well. not so strong that it is likely to give anyone headaches. It will not offend anyone. Having said that it is a bit dull as nothing stands out about it noticeably. It's lovely and fresh but a bit boring.
Lovely fresh and clean summer fragrance
I smelled this on a stranger. She smelled like lovely lemons, with maybe a hint of fresh laundry. On me? Rotten oranges and dirty laundromat. YUCK! Normally, I will sell my unwanted perfumes, but this one...I flat out, GAVE away.
I completely agree with Soulflwr. I did not understand this strong negative reaction from me towards this perfume, but I'm happy that I'm not alone with it:) Inexplicably makes me itching. Sorry fans!
Se me imagina q este es como la version femenina del versace eau fraiche for men.
muy muy fresco y rico olor, huele a limonada dulce, muy fresco y sensual para la mujer.
بویه سیبه ترش میده.موندگاری بسیار پایین.
My friends all love it. I had it but it was just okay only because it's a little too soft for me.
I don't think it's masculine at all. On my skin it's quite sweet, reminds me of lemonade, I love it!
It´s disguting! It smells like WC cube- awful, synthetic lemon YUK!!
more of like a masculine smell. salty, lime/lemon & fresh. projection: 0. You have to pour quarter of bottle to let other people notice you have wore it.
I bought this about a year ago after smelling it on a co-worker (that sounds a bit odd lol). It was really nice on her and thought it would be a good choice. The first week of wearing it was ok, it didn't smell quite as good on me as it did one my co-worker but not bad. Soon I started to notice the acidity turning against me, the scent started to smell faintly like urine on me. Turns out I'm one of those people who can't wear scents like this. Overall it didn't work for me but I have smelt it since on other people in passing and it's non-offensive and pleasant, but nothing special. If you want something lighter and cheaper (in price) try 'I Love Love' by Moschino.
Not bad, but I expected more. I have read rave reviews so it was a bit of a disappointment to experience this quite mediocre scent. Not special at all.
I am so over this perfume. The smell of it actually makes me angry!! lol I smell it all the time on other people and t makes me dislike them immediately.
Ah the power of smell, is all I can say.
I'm not saying that this is a bad perfume, I actaully liked it when it first came out. It's just that it's too invasive, and if you're tired of smelling it...the fact thatt it's thick and far-reaching will make you end up HATING it.
Not to mention the musk in it is wayto close to that "warm humans" smell that you get in large crowds or off people who are fotunate enough to have clean smelling sweat, which just adds to the intrusive quality of the perfume. I find it to be quite rude! lol
This fragrance can be a fantastic palate cleanser if you tend to favor moody chypres, dramatic orientals and exuberant florals. Using Light Blue as a change of pace is like throwing open your windows on the first warm spring day after a long winter.
Smells too masculine to me, but not sexy at all. LB is pungent and not in a pleasant way. Yves Rocher makes a LB dupe called Naturelle, the top notes are slightly more green and fruity, but the base notes smell just like LB. That one is a lot more bearable to me than LB.
Suburban summer personified. I don't picture Italy here at all. It's clean, fresh, watery, softly sweet, a bit tangy. A bit green...I've lived in a big New England college city for the last two years for school. In Winter, this city and the areas surrounding it, are known to get "Nor'easters", which cause havoc and bring tons of snow, traffic, power outages, bills...you name it, it happens. In result, many of the people around here, even those who have lived their entire lives here, can become depressive, bitter souls.
Anyway, when the warmer season begins to creep up and Summer begins, hoo ha!, happiness is reborn. As if they never had it so good. They start going to the beach in April, just because it can be 60 maybe 70 degrees outside. Kids pop out the brightest bikinis, news stations are seeping with joy, people can get upset if it rains too much in the Spring, and so forth. They "praise" the Sun. And yet in the midst of this turmoil, I can't help but find it endearing. I've spent my childhood in the Caribbean, "latin America" (basically Mexico and down), and Africa. Some Europe. No, I'm not privileged, far from it, just that my family splurged on plane tickets instead of cars and a mortgage. What has been normal to me, warm, happy, fresh weather, is not the usual around here. These people love Summer far more than I do and ever will. My favorite season is Fall.
This then is tans, lemonade, pool parties, Summer vacations, vanilla ice cream, summer fling, and summer camp. Swimming in a lake in the middle of the woods. The Beach Boys. Summer rain after high 90s weather. Refreshing. Liberating, like how free and safe it was when we were children. It is comfortable. It smells good. I guess this is why it's so popular. I normally don't like smelling like everyone, thus why I've only worn this once or twice from a small sample (don't knock it until you try it). However, I'll make an exception on this one. Yes, it can be annoying when everyone smells the same. But like I've said, most people have a deep desire to feel normal, accepted. Some of us, are naturally comfortable being like everyone else. It is a goal some people aspire to. Normality is overrated, but it has its uses. People immediately trust you. You have something in common. People like things to be in order, linear, routine. Rebels get shot and become legends. Your average person stays comfortable and lives.
I rather be a rebel still.
I got this as a gift 5 yrs ago, it was summer and I lived in a chalet on the Mediterranean..Its colour and light scent fitted perfectly in the setting:)..and I remember every time I wore it an Outcast song kept coming to my mind: "so fresh, so clean clean" :)
Not sure why, but I really hate this one. It has the kind of synthetic-y floral scent that I sometimes like, but in this case I can't stand it. It could be because a few of the women I work with wear loads of it, and we are a huggy bunch so I end up wearing it, too. And it is strong. And it overpowers my own perfume. And it lasts and lasts and LASTS. And I have to shower to get every molecule of it off of me or else it seems to multiply and I'm stuck with it all night. Yuck.
A breathtaking perfume which has the ability to change ones mood and lighten up a day, anon..
0-5 mins - Wowie, now this is it. Chilled, casual, but big enough to be out there,... complex citrus, unisex, not just relaxed but optimisitic for the future and brighter times ahead. Projection 2-4 foot around. All day wear, universal, London, Toyko etc... it doesn't matter who, where, what, when you are, this is something all can enjoy and truly special and timeless.
5 mins - 5 hours - Projection 2 foot around, captivates all around, impossible to not be amazed by how good this is, like the dream beach holiday, like the dream that you can aspire to.
5-10 hours. Less projection. Lives 2 days on clothes however, if you like me, cannot let this go.
Absolutely perfect scent, perfect projection and longevity, what more could one ask for?
Quality
I'm crazy about this FRESH perfume. I wear it whenever I go to the Gym and I just can't get enough of it !
I bought this recently after hearing positive comments about it, and it ended up smelling way better than I had thought. But then again, it probably is a summer scent, as I prefer more sensual scents for fall and winter. If you want something that screams "Fresh and Clean", than this is the right perfume for you. I'd say that this is more wearable than DKNY's Be Delicious. I just wished that it had better lasting power,as it lasts for only about 6 hours on my skin.
Overall, i like this fragrance and would recommend it to my friends :)
this was a gift from my dad. he syas taht the saleswomen suggested this one. I used it today and people definetly adored it. they kept saying that this smmells so good but also soo familiar.
guess that explains everything.
To me, this smells exactly like Victoria´s Secret Pink With A Splash in FRESH & CLEAN.
i used to love this scent... actually as far as i can tell, this was my very first "signature-perfume", and i used to wear it day and night when i was 12-14 years old. but after finishing the 2nd bottle and buying myself the 3rd, i for some reason suddenly couldnt stand the smell of it anymore! i got sick everytime i sniffed it, so since then, i still have a big 50ml bottle standing all alone in the shelf.
it is very fresh and citrusy... i get what people mean by saying it smells like detergent, toiletcleaner blabla... but its actually just very very fresh and citrusy, but still strong and making a statement.. and i always have the impression that the scent itself is just like the packaging of the bottle, blue and velvety-soft... and VERY unique! and if you find it not very "extraordinary","interesting", or "complex" it still doesnt beat the fact, that it is a uniqe scent, and there is NO perfume, which smells like it.... so i know exactly when one is wearing light blue, as i pass by. i just cant smell it anymore...
The problem with this scent is that everyone wears it. I don't want to smell like everyone else!
I first smelled this scent on a friend of mine a few years ago and fell in love with it. I bought a bottle and was very disappointed. It smelled nothing like the fresh yet musky scent I had smelled, and more like lemons and rubbing alcohol. I thought perhaps it was my body chemistry or maybe a bad batch.
I decided to give it a try again when the same friend was still wearing the light blue and I tried it. It smelled amazing.
I ordered a small bottle from e-bay & LOVED it again.
I decided to order the full size from Macy's- received it last week & once again, LEMONS.
The difference in the 2 bottles I own- the fresh musky scent is Made in Italy. The lemon pledge, Made In Germany. I have no doubt both bottles are authentic, but either something is lost in translation in Germany, or inferior ingredients are used.
This scent is fabulous when it's done right.
For some reason the 2 bottles I have had from Germany were just not right.
I've had 3 bottles of this perfume already and didn't get tired of it and don't think it will happen soon.
What I think of it is that this is the most popular perfume for young women, for summer and within the citrusy scent area.
I love it for it inspires me cleanliness, freedom and a sexy lazyness. It's like I only need this to feel confortable when wearing really high heels and a short wavy dress on a tipical summer day.
The bad thing about it is that more and more women smell the same wearing it and the nose loses connection with the heart of this perfume.
Anyway, since it continues to be one of my top 5, I trully agree it's great, even after being familiar with it for 4 years now.
Too much citrus for me.
I have been wanting to try this for so long, after hearing so many good reviews, and the enduring popularity of it. Finally, I got a sample of it! However, I am somewhat disappointed since it smells very similar to both Secret Wish by Anna Sui, and Naturelle by Yves Rocher. I know Light Blue came out first, but I have been loyal to Secret Wish for so long, I think I will stick with it.
I love using Light Blue ... is so "up", I feel like I'm walking in one of those old small Italian village in the mountains bordering the Mediterranean, on a sunny day ... walking along a stone trail with the smell of the cedars, the fresh wind and warm smell that comes from inside the houses ... apple pies and cider baked by italian grandmas ...
***
It is a citrus aroma, bright and personality. I really transported to a Mediterranean beach with the sea dotted with golden reflections of the sun. Da feeling of energy and optimism. I think a good alternative to my usual summer perfume. To be a EdT last long on my skin. You have to use it sparingly, because if you put too much perfume is intrusive.
I had it many years ago, when I used to adore it. Back in that time, I was only having 3-4 perfumes, and this one was my summer time favorites. It was fashionable, sexy, young, and everybody loved it. Regardless, I ended up having it again due to good memories related to it; maybe my nose has changed, but I find it lemony, with tons of musk and cedar, and not much else; I cannot smell any flowers. I love the sour opening, but after that it's just Aqua di Gioia minus sugar and mint. Still beautiful for summer time, but I cannot find the "wow" in it, as I used to when I was younger. Silage and lasting power are quite good for an edt.
One more note: this is one of most faked scents out there... I suggest if you like it, spend the money to get it from a reputable store, unless you want to get a nasty smelling, toilet freshener.
Slightly sweet, soft but vibrant, fresh lemon with one of my favourite notes, cedar, ever present...really delectable, a perfect summer scent and I understand why it's loved by so many.
A big minus though - it lasts only about an hour on my skin if that, and sillage is nearly non-existent after the first 10 minutes. I've raced through my little 25ml bottle in the last month as I've used it more like a body spray. I'll have to throw away the empty bottle because if I keep sniffing it I know I'll want more! And it's quite expensive for a body spray. But that's just my skin maybe.
rather sharp! almost astringent! wouldn't say this is very feminine. nor is it masculine.. hmmmm all in all a no no!
smells like some sort of medicated lotion you would use to kill pimples..
to me, the best way to describe the scent is that it smells like clean, crystal clear water, and fresh cotton linens. it's nothing WOW, but it's probably one of the most 'wearable' perfumes out there. it always reminds me of my mom :)
My favorite summer fragrance for 2011... Beautiful is best to describe it...
it's my favourite
A very, very fresh, sparkling and clean fragrance. Like a splash of cold water or a deep breath of fresh air. I notice the lemon and cedar the most. It's great on hot summer days, when you don't want something too overpowering. This is a magical fragrance - not too sweet, not too woody. And not spicy (at all!!!). When i first smelled it, it was really in-your-face.. But soon i got used to it and loved it! I love D&G perfumes in general: it's like they were working at each note for a long time, thinking of the ideal combination with it, making the aroma not too overpowering or boring. Each fragrance is original and unforgettable...
There is one BIG minus about the fragrance: it doesn't last on me at all.. :( I spray it on and in three minutes i already can't feel it. But the scent itself is lovely. 9.5 out of 10.
Light Blue is a masterpiece of proportion: pure, clean, with a refreshing taste of apple, and just enough lemon to keep it bright and awake. It is far superior to most other aquatics that I have tried, which suffer from an excess of citrus, usually making them a bit cloying and antiseptic.
No such problem with Light Blue. If you want a sparkling daytime perfume, this is the one for you, man or woman.
Like most aquatics, it can be too strong if worn to excess. A little goes a long way. It's not the kind of scent you want to broadcast to the world. It's a modest scent, one you should wear to subtly enhance your cleanliness and clear presence of mind.
I don't think it is "sexy" as advertised. There is nothing dark or sensual about it. It could however, evoke the brightness of a sunlit beach.
The bottle is a bit boring. Sure, this perfume is not sensual, but it's not utilitarian either. It's full of sparkling beauty, and could use a more creatively designed bottle to enhance that image.
Easy summer daily scent. Not something extraordinary. I would say it's one of those scents that you don't even notice you're wearing, still, it's kind of a comfortable scent in its own way. I don't like the bottle though.
lemon?!, no way - it smells of mandarine (tangerine) flower! Adorable!!! Mine for many years and forever...my only fear is that one day they stop producing it or change the fragrance...
I use many different perfumes but always return to this one :-)
It supposes my own smell and make me even more attractive - men go crazy of this smell on me!
So happy some people can't wear it :-)
This is a decent fresh fragrance, but not the best to my nose. For some reason I am inexplicably reminded of Lanvin's Eclat d'Arpege, without the berry notes. The opening is a lot of lemon and apple and then the bamboo becomes distinct. It remains fairly linear until the end when the musk comes through. This does kind of remind me of an air freshener. I expected more.

Vtr lemon and apple scent of pine combined well together
The only weakness that I copied from the
this is my current all time favourite, truly beautiful, not too strong, fresh, citrus, long lasting
Too many women have this scent. i can pick it out of a crowd. its too strong for my taste. I feel like a little would go a long way. I get a hint of citrus with overwhelming floral. Not a great every day scent.
I really don´t like this fragrance. It smells like those cubes for WC-awfull lemon scent!
Sun in a bottle! Salty limes, warm ocean spray, sugar rimmed vodka tonic. It's clean and slightly crisp yet soft and still subtle. Beachy but not tropical. Not the type of scent I tend to gravitate towards ( earthy, smokey, honey, incense etc) but I really love this one. Not overly feminine but not quite unisex. My hubby loves this one on me!
I love it because it's young and the citrusy scent makes it very fresh. I guess it's pleasant for a lot of people cause seems to me that everyone has it. That's why i've been putting off buying it.
This is a nice scent: young and fresh, simple and straightforward. Definitely geared toward a younger audience (-25), though.
Crisp apple and zesty lemon: A happy, optimistic sort of scent. Puts me in mind of a breezy, clear day spent picnicking near an orchard. Refreshingly sweet, it manages to duck the cloying trap that so many floral fruity perfumes fall into. Simply delicious for summer - you might be able to pull it off in colder weather as well, but it has a light tough that might quickly disappear.
love it...this perfume relaxes me and gets me in a good mood.great for warm days.i love the lemon, they made it very good.
that is not easy to find...i get headaches from most of perfumes.i also do not find it at all masculine...if a guy wears this...not my type.to sweet for a man.
one minus i think the price is a bit too much, but i love it so...i have to buy it.
Otro año mas, siempre caigo en comprarla, me encanta perfecta en verano ,cítricos y cedro son la perfección ,el sillage muy bueno y recibo elogios siempre que la uso.
Lemons, lemons, lemons! Blue skies, white-washed houses, tan skin... A very neutral scent. Likable.
The price is ridiculous! It's much cheaper to cut a lemon and squirt the juice on. Lol!
I like this Fragrance is full of youth and beauty.Everytime I wear It people from all walks of life tell me you smell so good.If you looking to make new friends or starting a new job and going to a new school .This is the perfume to wear it makes people very friendly towards you and they see you as a good person they can trust. This perfume makes me feel so happy!! You can wear this all year around and anytime of the day!!! Thank you D&G for this nice clean fragrance muah!!!
I have tried rose the one and 3 Le Impertrice they are both nice but my favourite by a country mile is light blue I love the crispness of the granny smith apples melding with the fresh blubells I find it an uplifting fruity floral which is absolutely intoxicatingly addictive and my definite favourite for spring and summer especially I have had five bottles of it and many compliments when I wear it. It blends with my body chemistry just purrrrrfectly ! ! ! ! ! ! I just love it. It's not cheap but to me it is worth every cent it is my favourite for sure.
Amazing creation. My only one citrus floral, and always my #1. Love the sugary lemon note. I feel pretty and confident everytime I wear it!
Clean, cool and fresh citrus scent with a prominent cedar note that in my opinion makes this fragrance rather masculine or at least unisex. It reminds me a lot of the colognes of the past (like 4711).
There's nothing mysterious to this scent. It's an easy going, uncomplicated fragrance - just zesty citrus and aromatic cedar, with a small hint of floral sweetness. It doesn't change character from the minute it's sprayed till it fades away - what you spray is what you get.
This scent is especially suitable for a hot summer day, where the refreshing element is more important than the complexity and uniqueness of the scent.
In 3 words: FRESH - MASCULINE - LINEAR
Wow!So fresh, soft and feminine scent.I do love it so much.I give it 5 star.
Such a clean, fresh lime, green apple musky scent! I really like the mixture of amber, musk and citruses Dolce & Gabbana brought with this fragrance. But I really agree with some reviews here, it seems there's nothing else for people to wear so, they're all wearing light blue. I even smelled it on my boss. Ten years ago I had the chance to wear this "new" one!
Don't understand why people love this perfume.. It smells synthetic, and it smells masculine on me.
I just love this fragrance so much. In my opinion it's perfection from start to finish. The citrus top note is fresh but not overly sour, and a few spritzes of this on clothes ensures that the lemony scent lasts even as the perfume evolves on skin.
I started wearing this fragrance back in 2001 when it first came out, before it really became popular. The fact that so many people do wear it is testament to its quality. This is my favorite D&G perfume.
The women's is much better than the men's version which is find too bitter. The women's is 10/10 for me and gets lots of compliments from people.
First time i smell this perfume about 2 years back,i couldnt believe people like this perfume..and yesterday i give a another go and I LOVE !THIS IS WERY FRESH,CLEAN ,LIGHT SEXY SCENT !And lasting power is good too ! For me 10/10 !
It's great to smell it in a distance when there's a wind . So I think it would be sexy if someone pass by catch a scent of this on me.
However, if you smell directly from the place you apply it, it's too sour and irritating.
Still, i like wearing this in casual because it's fresh and clean.
Light Blue . . . hmmm. Wonder what kind of fragrance this could be . . .
In all honesty, it's not that bad. Bright citrus notes with a touch of sweetness, darkened by cedar. Simple, pleasant, inoffensive, generic. The fragrance is unisex (the masculine version is redundant) and nice for a casual summer day. There's nothing grandiloquent or exaggerated in the composition, which is to its detriment; Light Blue could use a little pizzaz. As it stands, it's one of many uninteresting and easy-to-wear summer scents. I'd opt for Eau de Grey Flannel if I wanted this kind of citrus/cedar arrangement, but any one of your Cool Waters or Acqua di Gios would do as well.
I purchased Light Blue once in 2002 and again in 2003, I thought it was a unisex scent. Much to my dismay it was for women, so my pride forced me to stop wearing it. I think I'll pick it up again and layer it this time. Women loved it on me then and I'm pretty sure my luck will be the same now.
I don't think this is a stripper scent, although I really don't frequent strip clubs like that. The strippers I encountered always wore some form of Bath & Body Works.
All in all, I think it's a nice scent. If a scent could catch the feeling of a warm saturday afternoon, this would be it.
Such a beautiful perfume. It smells like a light summer breeze near a sparkling blue sea. Definitely for the day time.
Got it as gift. There's something very sharp and frosty about it. not a first choice but will make do if there's nothing else
I was looking forward to this scent as it smelled lovely and fresh in the bottle. Good thing I tried it out first! On me, unfortunately, it smells like a toilet that has not been cleaned in years & growing mold... it also has incredible staying power. I did not know what to do to make it go away. But I thought, maybe beginner's luck. I tried again 4 more times with the same result...haha you can say I was determined! But definitely, definitely not for me! It smells so awful on my skin!
* Office Safety - 4/10 (in moderation)
* "Headache" Factor - 7/10
This one opens like a fresh breeze that cools you off on a hot day. It's lovely and fresh.
BUT... once the cedar takes over, it become unwearable for me. I like scents that evolve, but in this case, I wish it was linear and stayed the way it is on opening instead of the cedar taking over in the middle.
I think this could be just fine for office wear IF the wearer is sparing with it. A co-worker wears too much of it at work and it is overwhelming.
I absolutely hate this fragrance. I don't get it, really. Why is this popular? It so bad. Nothing stands out, it's so generic. ugh.
Fellas, my good friend Anup's review says it best: Light Blue works perfectly as a masculine. There's really nothing feminine about it and it's one of the best fresh fragrances money can buy.
And, Light Blue is successful for a reason. It's appealing, pleasant, intelligently marketed, long-lasting, and modern. Light Blue is the women's answer to Acqua di Gio for men: light and fresh, the perfect anti perfume, along with L'Eau d'Issey.
Still, there are better citrus fragrances out there (Eau de Guerlain and Orange Sanguine come to mind in terms of unisex), and just about EVERYONE seems to wear Light Blue. Since it has first been released, the world has reeked of it more and more.
Regardless, I like the stuff and it can be found for a good price at good retailers. Guys, I recommend you skip the banal men's version and just go for this one. Women will still compliment you.
Nice summer fragrance, although it's nothing special. I did find the lasting power to be impressive though, at least on me anyway. When I run out, I won't repurchase because it is just too common and doesn't have a "wow" factor to keep me coming back. I know quite a few reviewers have said they think it smells masculine, and it does, but not in a bad way. It's very fresh and clean smelling and very ordinary too; it is what I would consider a "safe" scent. If you've never tried it and you like the fresh-citrusy smelling frags, then give it a whirl, but if you're looking for something to knock your socks off, you might want to try something else.
Masculine scent. Fresh, dry, ordinary. Lasts long and dries down to a clean fragrance. Nothing more to write home about.
Occasion: Summer, day time, casual.
Scent: 8/10
Uniqueness: 8/10
Versatility: 4/10
OVERALL: 20/30
It smells so innocent, fresh and clean.I like to wear it in summer and the scent lasts all day.
its not that special its so light it only make u feel fresh and clean its good for summer but its lasting power is very weak ..
There's no denying this scent is extremely popular....so yes, this means that many people wear it. I do prefer wearing scents that are not so widely worn. However, if I like a fragrance enough, I don't let that deter me....I will wear it anyway. Best to choose perfumes based on what you like, regardless of what others think....that's my opinion anyway.
Having said that, I don't actually smell this on others that often. I love this scent for what it is - a simple, fresh, light fragrance that wears beautifully on my skin in warm weather.
What I get from it is fresh/tart lemon, wispy light florals, and some woodiness from the crisp bamboo and warm cedar. It wears fairly close to the skin but has decent staying power for me. It reminds me of summer, fresh air, sunshine, and vacations. This is not a loud, statement-making fragrance. It's not sweet or strong, just very crisp and refreshing. While I do love my statement-making fragrances, I also love Light Blue for those days when I want a wear-it-for-myself, light, clean scent that makes me think of summertime.
With Light Blue you never have to worry about the scent becoming overpowering, which I think is what makes it an ideal go-to summer scent for so many people.
I had this and used it in day-time. It`s a light scent, fres and clean. Get`s a little more fruity and citrusy after a while on my skin, but I `m no big fan. Boring?
Me encanta, el detalle es que huele casi igual que i love love de moschino y esta última es mucho más barata
Light blue is a very fresh fragrance. Not dewy or sweet, but not arid either. A windy clifftop drenched in sunshine, small wild flowers thrashing back and forth surrender their subtle scents to the breeze. Miles of blue sky overhead, fresh with ozone, waves crashing on the cliff face many metres below.
I visualise a woman wearing this, she is beautiful, sophisticated, streetwise, calm and confident. She lives amongst the bright neon lights, the glitz and glamour of the city nightlife. She is at home here. She does not need to attract attention - the lights shimmer all around her and she does not notice them, they are her domain and she shines with them. She has attention without effort, she is loved and admired. She wears a scent for herself and Light Blue brings a blast of fresh air and clear blue sky into her dark but dazzling city life. She secretly longs to escape and walk those breezy clifftops.
Great fresh fragrance, uplifting, quite unchanging and lasts well, a little sillage, but not too much.
Fresh apples and femininity! It is a crowd pleaser and I have never received any negative comments when I wear this, but girls do tend to comment more than men :D This was my signature scent for a couple of years when I was partying lots and every time I catch a waft of it it brings a smile to my lips.
A little rant for you before i review this. Did there SERIOUSLY need to be a D&G light blue pour homme?!!
NO, this is perfectly unisex. If i smelled this without knowing what it was i would most likely be inclined to think that is WAS a mens fragrance in the first place.
I'm done ranting, now i can begin reviewing this best seller by one of my favorite noses, Olivier Cresp!
The top:
An apple resembling the apple note found in DK's be delicious men will be the first thing that you pick up on, which is great because i simply LOVE a well done apple!
To be an apple that is executed well it has to capture the bitter skin, and the savory/mealy/sugared meat, which this does without a doubt.
The lemon is also present providing an even more sun soaked bitter/airy tendency!
The heart:
The middle of this fragrance features both jasmine and rose, but i do not detect them by themselves.
I get a feeling that these notes are implied within some patented aroma-chemicals in the base, you'll know what i mean when i explain it in the basenotes :) The note in the middle of that fragrance that DOES stand out to me though would have to be the bamboo.
I've had bamboo growing outside my apartment for the past three summers and i am very familiar with it's dirty green whiff.
The base:
I detect a light resinous amber that's brown suger-esque motives are partially thwarted by the hearty, masculine ceder :).
Now onto what i was getting at earlier. The base of this smells IDENTICAL to cool wet soil.
It's this olfactory experience that i believe draws so many women (and men alike) to this best seller.
I approve!
Smell: 8
Longevity: 10
Sillage: 10++
I love it. Clean and fresh without smelling like a household product, and it lasts for such a long time. I sprayed my wrist before bed last night and I could still smell it quite clearly this morning, almost 9 hours later. The dry down comes quite quickly on my skin, leaving my with a more powdery soft kind of clean, like a freshly bathed child. Cute. Not sexy in anyway to my nose, so it does seem an odd choice for strippers? I have had many compliments when wearing this, mostly from other women. I've finished up my bottle and now that summer is gone here I won't repurchase yet, but its a definite re-buy for next spring and summer. Sensational!
If you want to smell like everyone else (literally EVERYONE else) then go ahead, get Light Blue. I personally find it way too overrated. I think it's a very basic, unoriginal, cheap-smelling scent.
I once had a guy friend who said he'd never date a girl that wore Light Blue, because it's what all the strippers wear and he didn't want a girlfriend that smells like a stripper. In fact, I've had several guys tell me that... I think that's a bit harsh, but I do agree with them that it smells very cheap.
It's soooo fresh and clean! The only thing I dislike is- EVERYONE HAS IT!
Iso E Super anyone? A citrus sherbet opening evolving into a clearly synthetic cedar mid-phase (kind of incensey) with barely perceptible fruity-floral patterns. Boring, uninteresting and definitely unbalanced on the synthetic side. Undeservedly popular and firmly unpleasant.
Rating: 3/10
It IS the best summer fragrance! I caught a whiff of it while standing in line in the NC airport. I followed the fragrance to a woman about 5 people ahead of me, and begged to know what she was wearing. It does open with a citrus lime-grapefruit, yet has a rose heart and patchouli dry-down to me. It stays very well- love it!
Love the fresh, light & clean scent, but the time goes by, it changes to somehow "old lady's" smell... It stayed for almost a day. It's not for me.
It's amazing - I think this is a universally appealing scent. I know someone whose signature scent was Clinique's Aromatic Elixir (not for the faint of heart... potent, heavy stuff that I can't stand), and she switched to D&G Light Blue. Even though the perfumes are so different, after one spritz of Light Blue you don't wanna go back. Feminine, refreshing, citrusy and cool. It lasts all day on most people. The only reason I stopped wearing it was because it got so popular, I smelt it EVERYWHERE!
LOVE this scent! It's crisp & clean & perfect for summer! Unfortunately it's popular so if your looking for a unique signature scent this may not be for you.
Light Blue is a true classic and I just love this scent. It is sparkling and light, bursts open like opening a bottle of champage, the opening fizzy citrus notes blending perfectly with crisp sour green apples and the cedar. I cant smell any rose notes though. On a hot day this is the perfect fragrance to use; it is never over the top but it is not a sweet perfume as it has a slightly sharp edge which mellows down. Not too much citrus to imagine the wearer has been doused with lemon juice LOL as the cedar/mossy base notes balance the lighter notes. The name is misleading as nothing "blue" springs to mind. "Citrus Moss" as an alternative name probably better describes the scent but it does not sound modern or appealing and would not improve the perfume sales!! It is a perfume for a young modern woman, it doesnt disappoint, the drydown is great (the apple note lingered nicely) and lasts for a long time. Enjoy!
I love, love, love this; however, I just can't wear it anymore (allergic). This is probably one of the best modern perfumes ever though IMO!
ooooooh this is my drug..surely the best summer fragrance...for me.
Much has been said, and more eloquently that I could, about the notes of Light Blue, so there's really not much I can add there.
I first smelled Light Blue years ago when it first came out and I hated it. This was when I was a teenager and I really didn't know much about fragrance. Two months ago, I was in an airport and spritzed on Light Blue just to give it another chance.
I fell in summer love.
I say summer love because I'm not deeply, madly in love with Light Blue. It's not my favorite, forever fragrance, nor the one that makes me feel sexy and glamorous. But nothing beats Light Blue in the summer heat. It's like the Gin & Tonic of perfumes. Nothing extraordinary, but so refreshing and delightful. To me, I smell primarily the citrus and apple top notes; jasmine, musk, and cedar are undetectable to me.
Only downside is that the sillage is terrible. Light Blue lasts about 2 hours on me, TOPS, and that is sprayed directly on both wrists. This seems to be a common issue.
Light Blue definitely smells citrus-y. Almost like grapefruit. Perfect for spring.
a very fruity fresh fragrance that shouts out its summer time but personally i don't really like it very plain no wow factor to it maybe a little over hyped in my opinion
When I first smelled this a few weeks ago (yes it has taken me that long) first of all I jus thought it was a lemon overdose.......
However ;)... after the first few minutes, it started developing a uniqueness I didn't expect, for some reason I got some bitter almond note, whatever it was it was lovely, clean and fresh. Perfect for summer. I don't care of alot of people have it, I don't recognise it on anyone I know so whatever :-) it's lovely! And obviously a reason for its popularity.
So I'm using this as a bribe to myself - stop smoking for a week (think the worst of the cravings should be over by then) and I can treat myself to this beauty. :-) and it seems to be working! Can't stop thinking about how much ~I want this, definitely more than a cig....
***update*** Wow, definitely falling in love with this more and more, it's SO uplifting, and so far have had compliments as soon as someone smells it on me, rather than me asking them! People seem to love this one, which is greAT imo ;)
i love the smell of this perfume...sort of citrus and lemony...wish to have it....
Very fresh and pleasant, clean, not torture my sensitive nose ;)It's everyday scent, especially in hot weather.
So I was dying to smell this since apparently everyone has it. I smelt it today and I was extremely disappointed! Everyone raves about it, saying it's so beautiful & fresh, yet when I smelt it, it smelled like ARABICA BEANS. And not in a good way.. It smelt like coffee & dirt. It was so weird because everyone always says it's light, fresh, floral, etc. I don't understand why anyone would like this fragrance...
This is a classic for a reason: it's very refreshing. On my skin it's a citrus and green apple explosion in the opening and woody in the drydown. This is very light and it leaves an uber subtle cedar drydown on me. Sillage and longevity are unfortunately very bad on me. It is still one of my favorites though!
My all time favorite. Never get tired of it. very fresh and feminine.
This is that kind of scent that never offends anybody´s nose. It´s really soft, delicate and not cloying at all. Lime and cedar make a fresh and pleasant composition, while rose and jasmine are very well blended and not too noticeable, just right. As it dries down, musk and amber appear without breaking the fresh chain, which lasts quite long. Overall this is a perfect choice for summer, yet suitable for any season. A very charming one.
Luv it. Sugary lemon aroma surrounding me. Very delicious smell.
Similar to I love love bit more musk
Not a fan of Dolce & Gabbana. In general I feel its a bit strong for me. This scent is pretty after hours of being worn and it's lighter. It smelled great on a guy. (Yes, the female one. Weird but true.)
Perfect From The Summer :D I Love This
ok it is nice and I repurchased it(one of my infamous 20 ml bottles hehe) and I think it is enough. It was my signature when I was 13,and a sniff from the bottle zaps me back to my tween years:D I don't use it very often now, and the 20 ml bottle will be all for it,enough flashbacks for me! I don't think it would bother anyone, a nice fresh vercy citric scent that doesn't say too much.
The Light Blue used to be my favorite perfume. I still like it but not as much as I used to. I bought my first bottle when it just came out, used up about 6-7 full bottles of it and still kind of like it. It's very citrusy at first when you just sprits it on, after it dries down to a nice soft musky scent on me. I love it.
citrusy like every other citrusy dish soap or hand soap. nothing special
I liked at first but I got tired of it and reminds me of Blue Seduction AB.
This so much smells like a house cleaner or toilet spray. There are plenty very cheap perfumes out there that smell like this , so at least you can get this "I just have been cleaning"-smell for cheap.
I have it and it is an okay fragrance. I mean I spray it on and I cant smell it later its not worth 80 dollars tho
All I feel is cedar...I really wanted to like this one..unfortunately does not suit me.
I really love D&G Light Blue, I remember a friend of mine was wearing it, and I asked her what it was cause it smelled so good :) I never had a full bottle of it, but I've tested it many times, enough to write a review at least :) When I first spray it, it smells just like lemonade, a very fresh lemon scent. After the dry down the base notes settle in and the powerful lemon scent softens. (I tend to like cedar notes and that is just what I smell at the dry down.) The lasting power is about 4-5 hours on my skin, so not that long however keep in my mind it is an EDT. I would say a great choice for spring & summer!
I have to agree with "airwatersun" on her lovely review. This is no girly scent.
I get a distinct dry cedar note from it. In fact, it's even drier and better in cooler weather.
The great staying power says a lot for the quality. I can still detect it a day after using it, in moderate warmth and with sparing use.
It's also not as commonly used as it was a while ago, at least not where we stay. Definitely not enough to spoil my fun with it.
D&G Light Blue is indeed, a pleasant fragrance. To me, it seems more mature that other Floral Fruity scents which in my view is a very big plus (as I'm not a big lover of this group).Just for the purpose of this review I sprayed some on wrist and all I can feel right now is a strong and fresh lemon scent. As the top notes fade away,I can definetly feel how the rose and the jasmine blend together, the lemon note disappearing almost completely.
The fragrance lasts A LOT, almost the entire day.If you pair it with with the body lotion you can be sure you'll feel it on your skin until you'll take your shower at night.
Overall, if you want a nice floral fruity fragrance, I see no reason why not to recommend it,especially for its staying power. But if you're a lover of mostly oriental/floral fragrance, you'll probably get bored of this fragrance pretty soom. After 2 weeks of having it, I ended up giving mine away.
to everyone who thinks that it is ''annoying'' to find this perfume ''everywhere''..
has it ever occured to you that there is a reason for this being so popular?
this perfume is just amazing.
thats the reason.
i dont know about newest versions, i have the old one. for me, it has always been about deep dry wood balanced with just the right amount of lemony fresh bitterness.
thats it.
no bamboo, no rose or jasmine, surely no apple, and who in fact knows how bellflower smells?
i like things simple.
when it dries, you can find lots and lots of natural cedar. nothing artificial. like you opened a door of an old wooden armoire and found clean sheets washed in lemon boil (for whitening)
this can easily go as unisex in my opinion. there is nothing girly about it.
..absolutely gorgeous fragrance!!! I LOVE IT!!!
it looks broing through beautfil perfume
This doesn't last very long on me at all! I am a little disappointed because I love the smell. It is very clean, fresh, citrusy! Perfect for the hot summer days ahead. Well, at least I got a 3.4 oz bottle to bathe myself with hehehe
Light Blue.... hmm yes indeed it's light, clear, nice and I believe a little soapy.
Prominent on my skin: Cedar , Lemon, Apple, Jasmine with a trace of Roses and Ambergris.
Sniffing from the bottle I sense: Apple, Lemon and Jasmine.
This fragrance is over popular but even being too popular, something still makes me like it. Maybe my good memories about this perfume. The summer feeling that it gives me every time I apply it, no matter what season is outside.
I like the fresh, calm, simple and clean Light Blue. It's a summery, comforting fragrance.
Good sillage but medium lasting power.
What a unique and perfect summer fragrance it was - in the past!! When I first smelled it in 2002 I was in love! I knew immediately: I have to have it! This was my summer scent! The perfect one! Smells like the lemon sorbet I´ve always eaten in Italy. Really, it brings back so many memories I have of Italy. This scent has only one disadvantage: It´s too popular, every second woman wears it in summer and that´s what I can´t stand. As lovely and fresh this fragrance is and as much as I wanna wear it again, I avoid to buy it cause it doesn´t have anything individual anymore.
all D&G perfumes remind me of italy... there is something mediteranian about them... it reminds me of summer, sun, sea, icecream, granita, cornetto, italian music and spirit. in my opinion, except the one, they all have something very italian, if i could say so.
it is very fresh, summer scent.. the sisilian lemon..
Like it.
Finally had opportunity to test it. I was hoping for the citrus chill as I fantasized myself in a shady Sicilian garden. I was knocked back on my heels. For me, this is a "...Thank you, but I'll have Green Tea, today."
Maybe next trip.
Love this scent! Reminds me of Summer...fresh fun and sexy all in one!
My boyfriend loves it, and I often catch him squirtig himself with it!
Good day or night smell...love love love!
At the fragrance counter, I passed the bottle by many times because it just looked boring. But one hot day on my lunch hour I gave it a sniff and I felt like it was an instant vacation. Now, I wear it every summer or on really cold days to make me feel like sunshine even when there is snow on the ground. I really love it now. Like an old friend. Maybe not the most exciting fragrance but it brings a smile just to think about it.
I wore this on casual days, like grocery shopping or just out walking the dogs. When a nice breeze blew by I could smell it. It was also great on hot days when you have to make sure your smelling fresh.
Suddenly thought I smelled marzipan and/or something horrible, not right! Washed it off. Another one I thought I would like from the reviews and notes in it (particularly bamboo) but on me, not nice :( Stale almonds, sort of reminiscent of the playdough smell I get with Hypnotic poison, so I'm guessing it just disagrees with my skin.
Surprisingly, even though everyone says Light Blue is worn by so many people, I have yet to come across someone who wears it. I find the scent to be quite beautiful after about ten minutes as the initial spray is extremely citrusy in my opinion. At first I wondered if it would stay like that but I was wrong. After a while I began to pick up lovely sweet notes; not cloying/overly-sugary though. More like a light sweetness that is still dominated by the zesty citrus. It's probably a good idea to spray this on during the daytime in Summer, and waiting 10-20 minutes before heading out/meeting up with someone. The first time you put it on it IS quite overpowering if you don't really like lemon. Because the lemon is very obvious at the beginning. All in all, a fragrance I find to be very nice and I'm glad I bought it.
I would associate this scent with work-related situations. It's also suitable when I just feel simple.
To me, it's a simple scent, not a fresh scent. It's simple in that it doesn't involve many floral or fruity elements. It does not contain anything provocative either. However, it's nothing close to being aquatic or minty.
I like the citrisy top notes, but it's really the base notes that resonates with me. The woody undertone is simple without being overly airy, and is liked by a number of my male friends (so far, I haven't asked any female friend yet). However, this undertone is quite weak, which is probably why many people feel that the scent does not last very long. If I spray it directly onto my wrist in the morning, by late afternoon, I would only be able to smell it if I give a serious sniff on my wrist.
The middle note is what smells like a household chemical product and I dislike. However there's nothing unpleasant in it, it's just not special.
I would keep the 25ml bottle because I feel this bottle best manifests the simplicity and the almost unisex appeal of this scent. Besides, that's as much as I would use before it expires. Also, I feel that the bigger bottles look kind of cheap.
After the top notes (that the first time I thought were way too citrusy for me but now I'm thinking otherwise), I don't smell any other notes in this perfume, as if it disappeared from my skin. That's too bad because when the top notes start to fade away, the faint smell I can still perceive is lovely.
I still dont get why is this so popular. I guess that Light Blue is like that popular group that we all had in high school: you will never know what made them special!
To me Light Blue smells like a soft toilet cleaner mixed with lemon soap and washed clothes. When I smell it on paper it has something that is really awfull to my nose but on skin it works better, although it still smells like a cheap cologne.
A friend of mine wears it all the time and I like it +/- on her although this always remember me of the smell of a toilet after the cleaning lady passed by...bahhh its a no no for me after several tryes to like it!
I originally got this from a friend and hated how limey it was. Upon a second try the lime note faded into something a bit sweeter but still fresh. I don't use this scent too often, but like it enough when I do. It's a popular scent but I probably won't buy it again.
I usually don´t like cytrus, and that´s why I liked so much "Light blue", it is a very very light cytrus, but it lasts the whole day.
A comfortable and refreshing fragance for the weekend, office, after the sport.
Really nice for the day wear.
It is a nice non-offensive citrusy fragrance with lightly woody undertone. it is a nicely done scent and pleasant too, but it is far too popular, it is almost like people choose light blue if they want to feel 'safe', ok it is 'tried and true' but i wouldnt love to smell like crowds of other people. There are millions of other fragrances that smell somewhat similar or even better.
Light blue has become the material personification of 'average' to me.
This doesn't excite me at all! I don't know where all the fuss around it comes from! It is very citrusy-orangey-lemony in a boring way. It just reminds of orange juice trapped in steel container under the hot sun!
I find it to have no depth whatsoever. It is not thrilling.
Good one for summer time make you fresh and cold feeling , soft fresh smell make you feel relax holiday time.
I liked this one but not enough to purchase. I don't feel it's worth the big price tag. I think this one is as close to White Linen as you can get. I like them both, not one over the other. I don't think this is floral or fruity anymore than White Linen. Both are just clean as can be. I'd get either one if I found a super sale! I like these scents!
Just like I thought, don't feel the same about it after years of break. I think I have fragrances in the same family that far better and unique. Ended up sending it back.
Hmmm, I remember how I wore this EDT in school as a teeny and one of my teachers complimented me on it. :-) It is a very pleasant citrusy smell and not intrusive at all. Definitely very flattering to the nose. The only downside is that it doesn't last that long.
I'm giving this a new review! I got this as a gift recently from my boyfriend (he didn't know I used to have this one). I also received Cheap & CHic I Love Love in a swap and I compared the two. They are almost exactly the same. I am suprised though that I actually like this scent more so now then I did years ago! I did at one time think it was boring but now when I smell it I find that the spicyness keeps it interesting enough to want to wear it! Like I said in my review for I Love Love...I wouldn't have chosen to have both of these scents in my collection because they are so alike but having one or the other would be a good edition. It's super citrusy and spicy and last 5 hours or so. Reminds me of lemonade on hot summer days :)
I started it using it in 2001 when it just came out, but because it was the only fragrance i had, I got sick and tired of it by 2005 after several years of abuse.
I never repurchased it since it became the latest craze in the US.....too many people smelling like this. I finally bought it again after years of break.....couldn't resist a great deal for a large bottle. I remember Light Blue as very citrusy, bright, and refreshing with a great staying power and sillage. I wonder if I am going to have the same feelings about it
@SweetPatchi: its the Ad thats making them go gaga. I do agree The One is so much better. not that we are goin to compare. I love The One.
It remembers me a baby cologne, too young, too citrus, too much "lemon fragance"...
I know this is a love or hate fragrance, and I hate it :-)I'm the type of skin that bears Dior Addict, LouLou and in summer burberry brit.
I received is as a gift ...On me this starts fresh, and a bit synthetic ... but after 10 minutes, I smell like a strong sour incense that I remember from mass and nothing else ... it's terrible and it causes me headaches ... my sister has the same opinion, but on her it was a lovely fresh scent ... as much as I tried to love this, it's just too overpowering sour incense on me.
I'm sorry but i don't like this anymore...it';s everywhere...and there are versions of it like in baby colognes and body splashes. i was disappointed cuz my hubby told me he bought me 1 and in a gift set! In my mind I said wtf??? but i told him thank's i love it! men that sucks! I hate to lie but I do not wanna hurt his feelings, he even told me to wear it everyday when he comes home on 22nd of april (he's in abroad, i'm in the phil). I told him I don't like light blue, i love d&G the one....but he still bought me the one he wants to smell on me...duh? what's up with men going gaga over this perfume??? i just don't get it!
Citrus. Light. Spring flowers. Refreshing. Carefree. Young. 7-up. Tall glass of ice water on a hot summer day. One of my first "real" perfumes. Too bad it doesn't last long on my skin. 2-3 hours tops. They should make this into an EDP.
I thought I would love this perfume. I tried it cause I was looking for something close to Ralph Lauren but I really still prefer Ralph's. DGLB wears away in seconds and for me it's not a very distinctable fragrance. I liked it but nothing special to me, anyway reading other people's reviews I think I'll give it another chance.
I so wanted to love this perfume when I tested it about a year ago... I recently tested it again.
I think because it was compared to a very light and sweet fragrance I owned. It was a Victoria's secret, secret garden fragrance (Secret Charm) and the girls at the store told me it smelled just like Dolce and Gabbana's Light Blue! I adored that one so much, I thought Light Blue must be wonderful. :)
So of course I had to sample it. I think if I wasn't comparing it to something so different. (Wished the Vicky's girls didn't get my hopes up) I hated it. It isn't like Secret Charm. It is not how I envisioned light and airy. It is aromatic, that is sure. It isn't strongly floral or sweet or gourmand. It is cleaner, But... it smells masculine in comparison to my expectations. There is something very strong about this one. Not like fresh air. Like a man's calogne scent or maybe something to clean your house... that is starting to expire. :'( chemical. ~ Maybe if they got rid of the Cedar/ Woods/ or Musk? Then it would be light and airy and sweet. This doesn't feel airy or should be marketed to women.
Now I am wondering how I would feel if I didn't compare it? Honestly I tried to give it a chance again this month. I sprayed it on my skin... and I have to say. Besides not liking the scent of it when sprayed... it really didn't like my chemistry. I was disappointed and also embarrassed that I felt like it smelled more like I was wearing a man's fragrance instead of a woman's. :( The girls at work did not think it smelled good on me at all. :'(
I had to go wash it off. I didn't understand why everyone loves it so much? Must just be how it is on my skin? It turned sour... is there supposed to be lightness or even a trace of sweetness? Where is the airy? Or the ocean? I think I might compare it more to one of those strong ocean or mountain scented candles that gives you a headache, and then throw in some woods and musk. ~ sigh :( so sad. I wish it wasn't so.
I am so sorry Light Blue, I wanted to love you. :( It smells a little masculine to me? Musky? I think this could be a very good fragrance on a man. :) Just not very feminine on me. And not great on my chemistry. (awful) :'(
I guess it wasn't meant to be.
Azure Breeze from Marks and Spencer smells exactly like light blue and it's only £6 for 25ml.
Honestly, Really, This is by far THEE worst perfume I have ever smelled. I smell nothing but lime in it. it smells like a cheap body splash or mist. A real waste of money for anyone.
This used to be my favorite summer perfume, but everyone uses it in my city now...:(
It lasts every day...and its so sexy so addictive to me, my boyfriend loves it on me but im tired...i used at least 6 big bottles already...lol
Now im trying salvatore ferragamo incanto shine...its fantastic but i guess the lasting power isnt too strong as this one:(
I have no idea why this fragrance isn't marketed as a unisex scent. It seems it should be wearable by men too, likely due to the heavy-handed doses of cedar and lime. Having never smelled the male version, I can't imagine it smells much more masculine than this. There is more than a hint of lime here. The lime is actually overpowering on me. Once you get this on your skin, it literally lasts all day. To me, this smells identical to Roxy Love but is way pricier.
Hello, ladies, I am a 17 year-old teenager who loves this fragrance. The many girls who I've smelled with this fragrance say it is long-lasting.
It is one of my favorite summer fragrances for women, very soft, citrusy, summery and good! THIS IS ACTUALLY MY FAVORITE, the second favorite is Thierry Mugler's Womanity, but it is for the colder months. This juice makes me just catch the girl and hug and sniff her hard and forever! This is my favorite stuff!
Too lemony at the beginning - very synthetic smelling, a no show for me.
I'll update this review after I wear this perfume once more. Today I found myself initially intrigued. Clean, fresh like water but slightly floral and powdery. It was strong, however. Eventually it began to smell like a floral/powdery perfume which is just... okay. I love that it lasts a very long time. I put the perfume on around 1:00, and I still smell it now at almost 10pm. For hours I got occasional whiffs of it.
I'll update my review next time I apply the perfume. I'd like to better analyze it after immediately applying it.
It's still a beautiful scent; lasting power is good too.
I like it.
Fresh and beachy
Very summery and sharp, just like the males version
But this one is less spicy and more fruity
To me the women’s one smells so nice that it could easily pass as a men’s fragrance. I really liked this one on my fragrance-ca-pade today. Another gender bender opportunity! Fellas who like clean colognes, try this…
Once upon a time this perfume was a fresh masterpiece to me and it became one of my favorite fragrances.
After several years, two bad things have happened: (1) everybody started to wear it and (2) D&G changed its composition.
Now it causes me headache.
When I spray this on, I am underwhelmed. It's nice enough, definitely appropriate for offices, but it just never smells like enough of anything to excite me. I would be curious to smell this on someone else to see if it is more interesting. All in all, my reaction is "oh. Ok."
Idk, but I'm begging this one to stay a bit longer. don't just vaporize yet, I don't have time to reapply you every 2-3 hours:( not like a perfume but more like a cologne, on me at least. nice and fresh for summer, no longevity sadly:( maybe ı'll purchase it later, when it's summer.
The "Light Blue" I like wear in hot summer days. This is the only citrus scent that beautifully blends with my skin. It is very versatlte fragrance, perfect for the office, on e walk or meeting with friends.
Although it is very popular, will be always my number one of summer fragrance.
I think it's popular because the ads are beautiful and the bottle is beautiful, but damn it smells yucky.
I love its smell cause it drives me high every moment of the day. I'm a teacher and my students say ''miss, we knew you re here, cause the whole school smells your perfume :))) '' It was the first gift of my fiance.. i used to wear it every time we went at his sisters home and i entered her bathroom and i sprayed myself. So he used to tell me...Oh my god, your smell is so addicted. Ever since i have one light blue in my bag every single day!
My next choice will be Pure Grace Philosophy.
Smells divine.
It smells like Lemon Pledge on me. My chemistry does not agree with this scent.
I love it <3
In my country, it's every office workers' favorite scent. The elevator is filled with it. It's refreshing on the senses in the morning, it perks you up.
Didn't like this - boring yet overwhelming. A dated scent. Not girlie enough for me.
I have worn this perfume for about eight years now and it is my signature! Since day one, every person i have encountered has commented on how good I smell. I have always loved it. I'm very picky about fragrances and my opinion on this one has never once wavered. It's my favorite. I go through the bottles like candy. There's no telling how many I have bought over the years but it is worth every penny! And it's my boyfriend's favorite as well. :)
I was excited to test this out in a store and boy was I totally disappointed. It smells 'old' and horrible. Definitely not my type.
Errr. I smell no floral fruity in this one. Sort of masculine-y and aquatic. Think of blue jeans, water, and a whole lot of testosterone.
I really don't understand the hype in this one. Lots of people wear this scent, male and female alike, but I'm really not impressed by this. Sorry.
Men's version is far more captivating. The aroma is similar to a lemon fresh water, too sweet and too cold. It is quite refreshing, but runs the risk of cloying. We recommend only for those who like hot and sweet perfumes, no sensual notes.
I like this and it is instantly recognizable. It is fresh and spicy at the same time. I would wear this on a weekend trip to the beach. My fav note is the cedar in the dry down.
My boyfriend loves it... I will buy this perfume soon for this summer.
Smells yukkie, it's annoying and too overrated. It's just a scent everybody likes because everybody likes it, if that makes sense. I definately don't like it!
first, it come out very strong.
i notice the cedar and lemon
then the next few minutes, bamboo! seems like i was surrounded by bamboo! and i love it. :D
the floral is very very light. a clean fragrance though.
I honestly believe this is so popular because people want to like the most popular, "in" fragrance. Sour citrus isn't that amazing.
a fresh scent like no other .... very feminine.
There is nothing else that smells quite like Light Blue. It is a bit of a legend in its own time...like Dior Poison, Lolita Lampika and Angel...When you smell someone wearing them, they are unmistakable because they are so unforgettable. With that said, this one to me, smells the way freshly cut lemons smell as you plop them into a summer cocktail. Mixed with that is the distinct smell of Pez...a candy I adored as a child...and the smell of Pez was a big draw to the candy for me, too! In the background..way, way in the back is a fresh, clean, aquatic-musk. Very interesting. Yes, a bit cloying--but it does have great lasting power. And I have yet to meet a man who does not love this on a woman.
This perfume is beautiful when worn properly. Really fresh, light, almost like a good riesling. However, I warn anyone who buys it, make sure you either use it quickly or store it properly, because after a few years it goes really lemony, like some kind of cleaning product. I love this perfume because it reminds me of when I fell in love with my current partner, so when I smell it, I get butterflies and feel like a young teenager again. If I buy it again, I will definately buy a smaller bottle.
Also, the majorly disappointing thing about this fragrance is that it doesn't stay on the skin for long at all. If only they made an EDP version of it.
All in all, a really nice fragrance for fans of sweet, citrus florals.
I hate writing bad reviews, mainly because we are all different and our sense of smell is different too, but personally I can´t stand this one.I bought a bottle years ago and I think I used it twice.I gave it away. Very sharp, made me dizzy and gave me headache.
It does not smell feminine but the smell is addictive. It grows on you.
I have to agree with Leukothea. I used to have this perfume but finally gave it away because almost everyone has it. I like it that its fresh and light but its way to common.
esto huele bastante bien en una mujer..es elegante y sexy.
I must be the pickiest woman on the planet when it comes to perfumes. But....
This is a must have!! It gives you a clean, fresh unforgettable smell. Once you buy your first bottle you'll be addicted for life!!!
Try it you won't regret it!
My husband loves it too. He likes it because its subtle and not overpowering like some other perfumes I have tried.
I don't understand how this became a best seller. Whenever I smell it, I actually recoil. Sour, acrid, unbalanced- to my nose, anyway. I can understand the comparisons to Lemon Pledge, but I think Lemon Pledge smells better than this. Final analyses: I'll stick to AG Eau D'Hadrien for my lemon/Italy kicks.
Very fresh scent, smells like a fresh newspaper.
the best summer spring fragrance ever !!!!definetly i vill buy again and again this is the top 4 fragrance
Is there anything left unsaid about this perfume? I think not..
When I got this fragrance as a gift I immediately thought it's not a perfume I can't get in love with, as first because of its wide popularity (too many women wear it expecially here in Italy) but most af all because I had tried a sample about 10 years ago and didn't like the citrus-lemon-fresh smell. I usually wear floral oriental fragrances, in summer too, and this scent doesn't match my preferences at all!
But...I must tell you this: some days ago I was wearing Light Blue during a grey winter afternoon and somehow I appreciated it, because I could perceive the subtle flowery notes I didn't notice before (maybe the jasmine? I don't know).
Just to tell you that, after a few minutes since spraying, this scents could get softer and almost "relaxing" on some skins. Maybe that's why many reviewers say it's a sexy scent.
It could be, but not in my way.
Last thing: citrus-lemon notes are meant to recall sicilian shores and landscapes: uhm ok, South Italy is full of lemon trees... but if you are looking for a more feminine (and authentic) Sicily natural scent you should try some orange blossom-based perfumes (just my personal opinion): this one feels more like a lemon crushed-ice drink :)
I liked this because it is so light and fresh that I could not smell it on me but others could. I think it is most like LAURA in my fragrance wardrobe.
Now Ceylove I think u put Winnie the Pooh really down!
this scent's commercial is so misleading such a gorgeous sea..sexy scenes with gorgeous music butt the scent is just smelling like clouds.winnie the pooh should be in the commercial ahaha :D nothing to exaggerate.its just a nicee refreshing scent:)
realy like this smell. especialy for hot summer days, realy fresh and zingy. but i have to spray it on my clothes not on my skin beacause it has no staying power on me at all. if i spray it on my wrist after an hour its compleatly lost on me.
Smells like an angel fallen into a seashore!
Just reminds orange farms in spring. One of the best perfumes for summer and spring time that I it'd deserved the award instead of cheap masculine version.
Opens lemony citric and blossomy with a blast of vanilla and extremely proper for young girls in a casual way during late spring and summer.
It emerges all girlish elegances and delicacies. BUT not something only for girls, men can wear it also in a summery casual dress; I had it and used to wear it in hot summer days and I got lots of compliments!
Proper for under 30 both women and men and only casual. I don't think so it plays good on officials.
longevity 6/10 but remains on skin and from near to skin it's smellable.
sillage 9/10
scent 10/10
It doesn´t smell good on me and i don´t understand why it is so enourmosly popular in my country? I don´t like the smell of cleaning detergent, it smells to me almost like dish washing liquid "Fairy" with added lemon scent.
Sorry, maybe i don´t want to smell like everyone else?
Please do not remove this comment, since others might find it useful. Not every rewiev should be positive, so people like me wanted to make a blind buy might find it very informative. Thanks.
soft sweet fruity nice in hot days and it seems like eternity by ck the original one .
This is pleasant enough and I can see why it's popular, but it's too citrusy for me. I was hoping for a little more of an ozonic aspect under the citrus, but I didn't find that.
I know that this is considered to be a popular, ready-to-wear, easy, everybody-loves-it fragrance, and if you don't wanna be like everybody else, try something different and blablabla.
Whatever.
It's popular because is a well made fragrance and seems to please almost everyone.
Smells good on me and on friends of mine that have the perfume, which is a rare thing.
The longevity is really good on me, another rare thing, considering that my skin seems to reject almost every perfume that I wear.
Another great thing about this one? It's fresh and sweet at the same time, which is perfect for someone living in a tropical country, like me!
No mather what people say, I simply love Light Blue.
I think this one never will bored me,I just adore it for summer hot days and I can use it every summer.Men love it too,I always get compliments from them when I`m wearing it.Just gorgeous!
This reminds me of girl who smoked loads and then covered up the smell with a spray of this perfume. Terrible! In the bottle it smells ok, but really not my cup of tea! Far too common for me!
Light Blue is well-named - it's fresh, aquatic, and airy. I love the citrus and light florals. It makes me think of going to the lakehouse in the summertime. Unfortunately, there is something dusty in this fragrance that goes utterly wrong on my skin... the best way I can describe it is that it "sours". As much as I would love to wear it, that one note spoils it for my skin.
This one smells nice, but its too strong, i give it 6 out of 10
Love this scent its a long lasting perfume to me aside dkny be delicious and burberry summer...love it
I tried it due to the amazing reviews and its #4 best selling rating at Shephora. It smelled on me the first 2 hours like sweet lemon juice called lemonade then natural flowery musk base appeared that was nice but much more subdued than the lemony start on me. It is not my cup of tea though I love my tea with lemon hehehe
I bought a bottle of this for my daughter-in-law while she was in hospital after having a c section. I thought it would cheer her and the staff up as it is light and fresh and good for those stuffy hot days! it worked, she got many compliments. I had to get a bottle for me, great for travelling to hot climates.
My friend, her mother and sister all share a bottle and it smells great on ALL of them! the Jasmine smells most prominent when they wear it.
I liked the scent but just does not work with my body chemistry.
I loved the way this perfume smelled on the tester strip. But this smells so bad on me ( I like the smell on the others ). 1 hour and dies down on me.
My aunt has it and it smelss sooo good! reminds me of Black XS (for men).
a perfect summer perfume but when summer ends, you need something to wake you up!! my sis broke the bottle (50 ml) and i got very ungry, but our room had this gordius smell for days!!
Another one of those gurlll what ya wearing. I will purchase another gift set in the future just for safe keeping.
la iba a comprar un perfume a mi mamá
fui con ella a comprarlo para que escojiera el que más le haya gustado.
probó este..
no se lo compraría a mi mama por que sabría que no le iba a gustar.
This D&G fragrance smells identical to Shanghai Butterfly by Nanette Lepore. I guess it's really the other way around since Light Blue debuted first. The only difference I detect is a watery, aquatic freshness in Light Blue that I don't get with Shanghai Butterfly. I suppose it could be the bamboo note. Both have a sweet citrus top note supported by a woodsy-musky base. They are both delicious and feminine.
This smells bitter on my skin and the drydown is sour and sharp. This just doesn't work with my body chemistry.
Just like with men, just because it's good on paper doesn't mean there'll be good chemistry. I LOVED the way this perfume smelled on the tester strip and bought it for myself. But wow!! This smells sooo bad on me! Very sour and just yucky. My sister said I smelled like "an old lady mixed with sweat." Not a good combo!! I gave it to my mom and she loves it. It actually smells very good on her so go figure...
Most say that this resembles a lot to I love love by Moschino, and it somehow does, but i just can't seem to like this in any way, though i love the Moschino one. I recall my mother using this one day and a certain thing from its scent, I can't tell which, just made me sick (strange, indeed, as it is definitely not one of those perfumes to make someone sick).
This one doesn't work on me at all. Literally, it smells like nothing on my skin. I love D&G's other scents, but I'll pass on this one.
The PERFECT summer fragrance! My husband's favourite women's fragrance...
Even if I'm kind of tired of it now, I must admit that THIS is the perfume that got the most compliments EVER!
I wanted to like this , I really did but all I can get from this is White Linen by Estee Lauder. Everytime I spray this I get that old lady vibe and I dont know why since it is mostly worn by a younger set. Smells so good on my niece. When I asked what she was wearing and she said Light Blue I nearly fainted. Smells nothing on her like it did on my skin. Sorry all you LB lovers..........I tried.
I really like Light Blue. It work well for me. Love the lemon lime cedar. Not a big fan fan of sweet, florals. But have been wearing LB for over 8 years and would like to find something new but similar. Maybe with a little more staying power. Any suggestions?
if you associate 'freshness','lightness', 'cleanness' with citrus scents, go for it.
it's probably one of the best easy-to-find/affordable choices.i give credit to the lasting power as well. but,if you don't find yourself in the above statement, choosing this will be a mistake of massive proportions. subjective feeling: too 'sour'.
I think it's little bit overrated...
Comes strong and sharp. More like putrid...but settles down to a light powder smell.
Lasting Power: 2 hours and dies down on me.
Will I recommend it? Not when your acidic..
so light blue <3
i used to like it,,in fact it was my fave perfume and i want it to be my signature scent..unfortunately, everywhere i go a lot of people are wearing this,,and i dont want to smell like everyone else,,
العطر جيد
I felt like I shower with lime juice...haha...
This scent is very annoying. First there is a lemon-soapy smell that smells clean and hopeful. But like those annoying store clerks at Bed, Bath and Beyond who won't stop cheerily saying hello and asking if you need help for the 100th time. This scent quickly starts to feel intrusive. What starts fresh with possibilities quickly sours to cheap-lemony dry down that lingers between your eyes and tingles your nose in an aggravating way, and does not develop into anything more.
Smells of cedar with a touch of a fresh lemon. It turns a little dirty smelling and masculine on me.
Lots of women say this is an aphrodisaic scent, and the cedar that features prominantly could be the reason. I think both men and women could wear this, it's very unisex.
One of my favourite EDT's for women. It's just summer in a bottle. Many men use this, although if you're a man and you want a man EDT like this, try Black XS, Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction or Versace Man Eau Fraiche.
Bitter sweet lemon smell.
My stepmother wears this fragrance I liked the scent so I decided to purchase the perfume oil smells very much like the perfume. However I dont wear to much because it seems to be too popular but the scent is rather nice
I really dislike this perfume. Maybe it is my skin or something else. I just did not like it on me or even sprayed in the air. The smell to me is very strong and reminded me of men's cologne. I don't bathe in perfume just a very small amount goes a long way. I would not describe it as fruity floral. I do smell a hint of lime but mainly cedar.
Well the name suits it perfectly, its light ans its blue. In my skin its basicly vanilla and salt water but none of this notes are mentioned, so I guess my skin its just weird. I think its a really safe frangrance, good for summer and for young girls. There is something there I really dont like but I have no idea what it is, probably the cedar and the bamboo :S I dont undertstand why people call this a sexy perfume, in my opinion it doesnt have any personality :S Its good, but nothing special or original :S
D&G must be inspirate with their orange and lemon juice in the morning..
its so citrusly, fresh, clean, and light..
i use this every afternoon, and i like it..
long lasting..
my friend said , "are you wash your cloth with lemon orange juice?"
great ...
It's a bit too popular for my liking, but I still love it - it suits me, it
s especially good for hot summer days.
this scent is very light blue..it is fresh citrusy lemony floraly but not too strong..suit for hot summer...
this one not smell like perfume to me. it just like natural body odor but in a good way. definitely light & blue..:)
ya i agreed it is overrated & expensive. but it smell good..:)
Nice and fresh. perfect for the tropical climate. But this fragrance is a little over rated.
A great scent for warm summer nights but almost unisex, I think.
It is worn by many women, I often notice the perfume on the train and at work, and men seem to like it, too.
Plus: The satying power is really good.
I have emptied a few bottles in the past 5 years or so and I will buy it again once my current 100ml bottle will be finished.
I love this scent a lot. Its not a WOW scent or anything like that. Not an evening perfume, either. Its just a pleasent, good scent, that I want to wear, when I don't want to have heavy scents around me and Im sitting in my sofa, with a good cup of tea, a book and in some cozy clothes. Or in the summer, when its way to hot for those heavy scents, that makes you gag! Or like a YOGA scent. Peacefull. I really like strong, heavy and sweet scents..but sometimes its just lovely to have a scent around, that goes in with ur skin. It smells like summer and fresh laundry. I am happy that this is still around and I hope that Dolce Gabbana, will keep this little beauty in their collection, forever! This is waaaaay better than Donna Karan's "Be Delicious", which is way to sweet for me and gives me a headace. TRY THIS, if u want a safe feel good fragrance!
This is so immensely popular. I dont have a bottle myself and would like to have it although I would not say its one of my absolute favourites but as I live in tropical weather and work in an office all day thought this might be a good nonoffensive scent to have that people seem to like. I personally think though it is a bit overhyped. I dont consider it sexy but rather fresh and lemony I am surprised that it is always called a man magnet since it is not very girly and sexy. It is kind of unisex. Still very pleasant, worth having.
smell like lemon room spray. but i do like it. oh forgot to tell it does smell like my dish washer too. but however i still like it..is that good or bad?
fresh fruity (from the lemon & green apple) and floral..dry down i can smell the mush & amber...my favorite definitely..love this!
The opening citrus note hits me like a bat to the face. It's a crazy harsh smell. It's ok when it dries down...if you can still smell it, as it disappears fairly quickly.
Hi.
The name of this EDT describes it perfectly LIGHT BLUE.So Popular because it is Lightness and Freshness not overpowering and Offensive. Tasty, Crisp,Clean,Unisex,Youthful,Casual, Light and Sporty.
It has a Refreshing and Light mixture of Light Flowers and Citrusy notes. You can really smell a touch of Apple and Lemon in it with a Cute floral heart and a Soft base of Musk and Amber that makes it quite Gentle on the Skin.
Everyone can use this type fragrances in their Collection.LIGHT BLUE is for a Active Character That Appreciates freedom and dislike Sharp smell too.It remindes me of a Light spring day.Anyway if You think about a Special Example this is not for You!
Sillage?Avreage.
Longevity?About 4 hours on my skin.
6/10
This one is just like lemon WC refreshner..very boring scent
it's very common perfume. to my skin smells lemon at first and then it smells like sandalwood not musk... it has rose?? i don't think so... it's not bad perfume but it's indifferent.
The WORST scent ever created!!! I think it smells like dirty laundry! I can smell it a mile away and want to run in the other direction! Not sure what anyone sees in it.
Bilge water describes it perfectly!!Or grampa's musty, smelly old sweater.
Apple. This is the dominant note of ths frag to my nose. A good substitute for the discontinued "All about Eve" by Joop. Not lasting and too light for me, otherwise a nice perfume.
I've given in. This is my cousin's signature scent so I tried to stay away from this since she practically BATHES in this. It just kept calling to me so I gave in. I bought a 1.6 oz bottle. I'll sneak and wear this so she won't ever know ;)
This fragrance IS summer in a bottle. It starts off very lemony and citrusy and dries down to a still citrusy scent but not just any citrus. Not like you've been playing in rain soaked lemons. Like a beautiful lemony harmony smell. It's beautiful. For an EDT it lasts pretty good on me but I'll have to test it for a few more days first :)
Because of its massive popularity I was predisposed to dislike this, but I have to say that I enjoyed it. I sprayed some onto my wrist and let it dry before taking it in. To me, this is a more expensive version of Moschino's I Love Love. It starts out completely identical for the first hour, but slowly the jasmine blooms out from the cracks to round out the scent and turn it into more of a juicier floral. If it weren't for the jasmine I would have been appalled at how identical this was to I Love Love. Nonetheless, this is a lovely fragrance, but not one I'll be purchasing due to its overpopularity and relative similarity to I Love Love.
the scent start with citrus grandis smell, with lime peel... very nice actually and I love the scent. Then, after few while, the scent turn to slightly woody and spicy..maybe the cedar start to smell, but the citrus smell did not disappear.. but blend nicely together with the other notes.
Now, I think I like it (previously I dont really like it)... a should try perfume in my opinion...
popular yes! But i love this smell...i love all dolce and gabanna perumes.
Wow....this stuff is sooo popular for some reason, but I surely can't figure out why! I do not like it at all and it seems average at best.
I cannot believe how much this smells like Moschino's I Love Love! I don't like either...They are way too sour & sharp...
Light Blue is a good summer scent. It won't get complaints from co-workers or stink up the bus. It is not like a real perfume but it costs as much. It seems like something that you should be able to buy at the discount pharmacy for $19.99 as a body splash. Just a refreshing scent that most everyone can wear.
This is going to get "deleted" but I'm sitting here giggling at the last 4 or 5 reviews. You guys are kind of funny.
In a good way.
Love this perfume. Nice beachy scent.
I'm quite with the comments below: This one's o.k., so nobody will avert his nose when you wear it. But, in fact, there's no reason to wear it in the first place.
Never really liked this one, not because it smells bad, but because it was SO popular.
But I do have to admit that it really smells like promised: south woods on the seashore, Sicilian summer, yes, it's all that. Very, very fresh, lemon, apple and flowerish notes (but just a hint of flowers) - pure aquatic-green scent. Too sharp for my taste.
And no, it's not fair to slam something just because it's popular, but it can easily make it annoying. Although, it's not even remotely as popular as it was 5-8 years ago, so you might give it a chance now.
It surely is a summer classic.
I don't get impressed by D&G Light Blue. It's not super wow to me, just ordinary.
- Surely it smells so good, light, fresh and uplifting. But the after smell kinda annoys me.
- I feel like drown in a scented aquatic marine tank. And I find it kinda boring scent as well.
- For you who really want to get the feeling close to the blue ocean in the summer, this might be the right perfume.
I worn Light Blue for 5 years since its lauching in 2001. Then I got tired of the smell because it became very popular and I could feel it everywhere.
The lasting power was amazing for a EDT: over 8 hours in my skin.
It's smell special, can not confuse with any perfume else. It's fresh and elagan and suit for summer but it does not last long. You must come very close to smell it. Just not my favorite.
This is so great during those dog days of summer when you're sweating like a pig and feel like you need to dunk your head in ice water. I find it refreshing and cooling, like Jean Nate.
It's so fresh: green bamboo, white rose, apple, lemon, with base of airy cedar and wonderful depth from the bellflower.
I just can't get enough of it.I think it's unjust for it to be slammed just because it's a popular perfume...
P.S.-about the reformulation- it has a little bit less staying power, but nothing disturbing, the smell is intact. Still lasts for hours and clings in my clothes until I wash them.
There is something about this scent that lures me into it. I'm a gourmand/vanilla girl at heart, but this is one of my favorite scents. I will absolutely keep a bottle laying around.
Where I'm from, it's not very common, but I would imagine in larger cities it would be.
On my skin, this scent is a nice sweet citrus. Slightly masculine, but very sweet as to making it loved by males. Sweet cedarwood (bring out the masculine in this), a little bit of musk, and loads citron with a hint of apple. I get compliments a lot when wearing this! The lasting power is pretty good for an EDT too. On my skin, it lasts up to 6 hours.
Normally I don't go for something so mainstream, but it's a fantasic summer scent for work. It's not dominantly floral or powdery. It's more feminine in the beginning but ends out being unisex in the end. That's fine with me, it's clean, fresh, & classy. I can see why it's so popular with nurses.
Seems like everybody love this! I prefer this than the male one, althought it's a little bit feminine for me to wear.
Easily to detect the jasmine from the begining, with some apple and citruses ( girls love this). A little light but that's what this about. A truly summer fragrance!
It is the best perfume I have ever had....
I sprayed it on my wrist and then on the card. On the card it smelt absolutely gorgeous, fresh and sweet but on my skin it smelt like LEMONS!! it was really badbut after a while the dry down did smell at least kinda nice. Wish i had a different body chemistry though ):
Hmmm...so so dissapointed ...D&G changed the formula ...!!!!!!!!
Light blue used to be strong with a great sillage ...long lasting too ...
Now seems like a perfumed water ..so weak ...;(((...a shadow of what it used to be when it first came out !
I was a big fan of it...u can read my previous review....
Now..i wouldn't buy it again !
I can see where the good reviews come from, this is just lovely!
The fruity opening is crisp & tasty, the heart is fresh & delicious and the drydown remains fresh.
My only qualm with D&G Light Blue is that it is, in fact, very light. I would like to see more robustness about it.
It is winter now so maybe it needs a bit of skin heat to bring out its full potential. I will retry in summer.
Nice scent but it can be smelt EVERYWHERE
and thus the reason I don't own it.
This is the perfect scent for jeans and a t-shirt; bright, airy, casual, clean.
An everyday scent for the ordinary girl.
Love the bamboo - almost wet and fibrous - the key note for me that elevates this scent from 'just there' to 'OH YEAH'
I tested it from my girlfriend's bottle, My first impression is, this must be a lot of thoughts put it in in this perfume, very well opening I must say and somehow I smelled it like guava even there's no guava notes at all in ingredients, that's why I am so in love with my girl ... she smell heaven ...
But I have to say ... not good choice of name "light blue" and the bottle looks dated
Purchased a vial for my wife to sample. She smells divine. A must have for a classy, sexy, well-liked woman, such as, my wife.
i just purchased a bottle of light blue after wishing for it for quite a while now.i must say that i really love it!to me it is like eating a soft chiffon cake filled with french lemon cream, while sitting on a crisp clean white sheet on the beach, smelling the ocean breeze and the smell of fresh laundry!i know it probably sounds weird but to me that is a match made in heaven!will certainly repurchase!the only thing i dislike is that i can smell it quite often on other women, especially in the summer
This doesnt last on my skin, and smells like air refreshner, i tried the doupe from Walgreens and the Original, they smell alike, and lack for lasting power...
This is the most popular scent ever! i understand that everybody wants to smell clean and fresh... this screams chemical lemon the first thirty minutes, then its cedar...they are a lot of similar smells, like i love love from moschino, that has better power
It was my signature for awhile, very clean and fresh, light yet noticable but gut borring.Too sour and citrusi,so it accured to me wear it mixed with my Escda Ocean lounge which was a gift(and too sweet for me).Well,it works and i have a new fragrance!
I don't understand how anyone can call this fragrance "sweet." Fresh, however, is a better way to put it.
It's also pretty unisex, as some men I'm friends with love to wear this stuff too.
The problem is that this stuff is sold out over where I live, so for anyone who wants something similar, try Chance Eau Fraiche by Chanel. It is WAY more expensive, though.
Ease up guys!so what if its popular and everybody wears it,nothing to get offended about.I wont mind smelling this very popular fresh, unoffensive fragrance around everywhere i go,if the general public smells nice i dont mind at all. I think we sometimes take scents too seriously. Not evey perfume has to have a unique ''my'' signature scent.Cut it some slack. Its a very pretty fragrance. Perfect for summer, like sugary flowery lemonade.Makes me smile.Im just glad something like Dior tender poison isnt popular.Wont want to be stuck in an elevator full of people wearing that!
I love citrus fragrance but light blue doesn't impress me. At the beginning I think it's sharp, strong, and not smell like any citrus fruit. Anyway,I like drydown because it's not too sweet flower. Many reviewers say its smell like I Love Love but I think I Love Love is more citrusy and fresh citrus fruit.
Very popular fragrance among people (as you can smell it on every second lady in the summer), but I quite doesn't understand it. I think it's cheap and syntetic and boring.
This is one of my favorite Undiscribable..I wear it pretty much everyday.Heaven in a bottle.
Like everyone out there, I fell for this one at first time. I was young(and I didn't know better) and it was something simple, fresh and "sexy". After using it for 3 days or so, I hated it. I felt like using a men`s cologne. Now as it is so popular, every teenager has a bottle and so many people know about this perfume I just find it annoying. There is nothing feminine about this scent. I believe it would make a better job as a "body splash".
this perfume smells cheap, lemony, fresh, air freshener kind of stuff, awful, i dont like it.. syntetic, smells like a lot of fragrances out there, like a moschino type of smell....
Alot of people seem to have Light Blue but I don't understand all the hype behind this fragrance.
It's a clean summer suited fragrance that evokes the feeling of an oceanic breeze. The hint of crisp fruit make it a little more appealing.
But for some odd reason, Light Blue gets tiring after a while. Strangely enough, the fragrance itself doesnt even last that long either.
I think it annoys me more to the point that everyone seems to be wearing this, so Light Blue has somewhat lost its mystique and appeal.
Not a very special fragrance.. just over rated.
i loved it at first. the top notes are very pleasant. but i can't stand the base notes. it's boring and makes me headache. but the good thing is the smell is very memorable and very popular. everyone loves it. let's hope my nose make up its mind =D
Didn't really care for this one . Too strong ,cloying and run of the mill . If it weren't for the strength I don't think I'd remember the scent so well , maybe that's a plus in disguise at least it's memorable ? It just reminds me of some of the older women you walk by in a department store and you can smell them before they're within a six foot distance of you .
Very light elegant and fresh parfume like Moschino I Love Love. Created by the same "Nose" Olivier Cresp.
Light Blue is one of my top favorites. It smells like lemon cake batter. The lasting power is great.
Smells like heaven!!!!! So good, light, fresh, clean. The smell that perfect for everyday and every age.
Love love love this. Get compliments all day long, even 12 hrs later. Like walking into a cedar closet and being surrounded by roses and granny smith apples. A real "pow" freshness.
A friend has it and offered me some sprays. It smelled nice on my skin, but it could only be considered nice. That's it. It's a very safe fragrance, very wearable, but not unique at all. Kinda boring, for me. The worse thing is, many people wear it.
It's a nice choice, but too boring and the price isn't responsible. It's too expensive for a dull bottle of a boring fragrance. Sorry, not my cup of tea at all.
Gosh.. there is a lot of comments and i have to go really low to leave my own comment. Erm, i knew this perfume few years ago when it's ad appear on tv. After try it, i decide that this is not for me. After bought D&G The One, i really want to try this again. I did, and still dont attract me enough. Why??
I dont know... then i search it in eBay and do a little research. I see the bid for new and used bottle of this perfume. Amazingly, this perfume have such a high demand worldwide. The auction always goes more than USD 40 for a new 25ml bottle, and it can goes up higher. Then i try it again, and i still cant remember the smell after few days. (Usually when I'm attracted to a perfume, i can recognize the smell from a mile away and i can remember the smell). The salesgirl told me that this smell nice, but i think it too simple, linear and very usual.
Because not so satisfy, i bought a bottle of 50ml. After wear it, i found that this perfume may share few same notes with Marc Jacobs Daisy, but less sweet. Nice, pleasant and suitable for daily use. Sillage is weak, unfortunately, but last on my skin.
As a conslusion, I still dont love it. Just wearable, that all.
bought this recently because I've read many good reviews about this in different sites. For me, it does smell too strong but it does really smell good(well it smells good w/ my body chemistry).. for me it smells powdery but in a strong way.. it has this beautiful smell that you can use everyday but its not the scent I'm looking for.. though if your thinking of buying this perfume then go for it! the scent is nice but not the best.. I still like lacoste perfumes.
Smelled very nice on me. Gave it as a gift to my daughter and she loves it! Says it is perfect for work, smells lovely but subtle.
I bought this as a gift for someone, but had to take a sniff before I handed it over.
The top is sharp lemon, verging on bitter grapefruit citrus. It sweetens and the florals take over but this is quick and short lived, as the cedar comes on and settles in for the duration. I like cedar but I don't pick up anything else after the 1st 5 minutes, so it's rather boring...a 1 note wonder, almost verging on masculine in it's woodiness.
It has excellent sillage, as I only put on a drop, but it should for the price.
In short, it's ok, but I won't miss it when I give it away. I've got other cedar scents to fill the void.
This fragrance is just gorgeous. Yes it is very light but it's not watered down. (meaning; you can get the smell) It is cool and refreshing, therefore it is very hot and sexy. If I were a man, I'd love to smell this on a woman especially in summer. Yes it is very popular, but it doesn't smell the same on everyone. On my skin I can get the woody notes clearly, which is one of the things I was looking for in this fragrance. Even though I'm not much into lemony and citrusy scents I think this one is just more than lemon cologne. It has a depth, a very refreshing one but yes it does have depth. I think a fragrance doesn't have to be a heavy oriental or chypre floral in order to be sexy. There are lots of reasons for this fragrance to get so popular and achieve its success. For example Hypnotic Poison, which breaks my nose and aches my stomach, is known to be one of the sexiest fragrances. Well, guess what I think this one is way sexier. It's all about what you expect from a fragrance. I've been wanting to have this for a long long long time and it is today I got my bottle from my mother as a gift and I can't stop smelling myself. Every time the scent hits my nose I feel so happy and confident and I want to smell more. I won't recommend you to try this, because I know you already have and you have an opinion. Well people think it's good, people think it's bad. All in all this juice has touched so many lives.
D&G LIGHT BLUE is just that: light and blue, an aromatic and quasi-aquatic fragrance which evokes images of waves crashing against the shore.
LIGHT BLUE is cool and refreshing, opening with a powerful punch of juicy lemon, which manages to overwhelm whatever florals purport to be present--entirely undetectable to my nose. The wood does comes through a bit--this isn't only lemon juice and zest--but in the end LIGHT BLUE is more of a cologne or a splash than a perfume.
I can see spraying this all over my body lying naked under a ceiling fan as the temperature approaches 100F. But for that purpose, LIGHT BLUE may be overpriced--as well as overhyped.
that's the perfume that characterizes me!love it!i've tried lots of perfumes but it seems that i return to it every single time!
the best toilet spray I've ever had.I will never get the hype about this one,it's only citrus with some citrus and a bit of ...citrus.Give me a break.
very fresh citrusy and pleasant perfume, is the only one with the citrus note of bergamot that i really like
I adored it when I was in high school but now... I guess I grew old it...
Hmm my husband bought this for me about 4 years ago and most of its sitting there. It's the kind of thing I'd spray in my nikes after running.
I bought a bottle in 2002. I don't get the lemon everyone is talking about.... the cedar note is more overpowering to me. I loved it initially but soon grew tired of it and now wouldn't be able to stand the smell on me. Easily recognisable scent though - a lot of people seem to wear this.
VICTORIAS SECRET PINK "FRESH AND CLEAN" SMELLS VERY VERY SIMILAR TO THIS...
Not my cup of tea, I would define as synthetic and overpowering. Worst thing is that you can smell light blue on MANY people, it seems to be a very popular fragrance...
The top notes smelled like Pez candy, and I couldn't get past that. The dry down is much better, but I can't get that sharp lemon cleaner smell out of my nose.
based on the notes of this one I should like it. BUT - I smelled it on a co-worker today and it has a synthetic smell, not fresh or citrus-y at all. It supposed to be fresh but it's thick and heavy. It says "casual and breezy" in the description, but I felt it is choking me, even though it wasn't me wearing it. Not my type of smell
I remember having the bottle of light blue in my teens: it was my all time favourite: fresh and citrucy, and also the apple))yeah))
I recently surrendered to my nostalgia and bought another bottle and realized i can't wear it anymore. I don't know what was the problem: maybe i developed a taste for richer, maturer fragrances and light blue does not do it for me anymore. or it's a strong association with my school years - i did not particularly like them. so i gave it away to my younger cousin))
Brings back wonderful memories- still have a tiny bit left! Shame that everyone wears it though!
Having bought this for the first time on holiday lasy year-I decided I liked the combination of apple and citrus. It lasts quite well on me.I tend to buy the perfume for its fragrance alone and was pleasantly surprised that I liked something so mainstream.
Another scent that I will use for the rest of my life.... Smells so good and easy to use in every occasions.
I see why it is so popular this smells fabulous better than The One way better.
cedar + citrus is a winning combination. ALWAYS. For me, Light Blue goes a little bit heavy on the woody accords, but it's not hard to see why Light Blue is so widely appealing. It's clean, uncomplicated, and pleasant. I'm sure it's making Dolce&Gabbana a pretty penny.
More importantly, I think, Light Blue is really defining an era in perfumery. Gourmandy pink-peppery grapefruity trends aside, Light Blue hit the right chords of freshness that's really resonating with perfumistas all over the world. Whenever I smell a new release, three times out of five it reminds me of LIGHT BLUE in some way or the other. It's becoming a reference by which to measure newer citruses. Maybe in another decade or two, Light Blue would be a classic that redefined a genre.
One thing though - Light Blue is so common that you don't need to read these reviews - I guarantee you have smelled it for yourself somewhere on somebody before.
I think a man could wear it.cause two notes of cedar.i. m use to my vanilla dg classic.love it but on a man...
smells like fresh linen and lemon...but ALL SEXY!
This is nice, it doesn't smell like perfume to me. I think it's one of those scents that just smells like someone stepped out of the shower, all clean.
Does it remind anyone else of Roots for her?
Finally got a chance to test it on my skin. I have unusual skin-chemistry that makes most fragrances go to the base notes directly, and Light Blue is no exception.
On first spray it has nice fresh citrus tones which disappear within a few minutes. The cedar dominates for most of the next couple hours, with a bitter note that I dislike standing out for a good half an hour. After 2 hrs it tones down a little to a more powdery scent with some lingering cedar, with no trace of citrus nor the bitter note remaining. Hardly any floral throughout.
Smells good on paper, and probably other people, but doesn't work for me. Main difference is that the citrus lasts on paper.
Overusage is not the fault of the fragrance. It's really quite lovely.
To my nose it seems like a cheap formula... soo citrusy, gives me a strong headache
Light Blue is a classic hence its popularity. Intensely fresh and citrusy. It's a feel good, pick-me-up fragrance. I read that a lot of guys like this one too. I say go for it. Only weak and immature people need permission from others. Versace Eau Fraiche and Rabanne's Black XS for men are similar to Light Blue.
Light Blue is becoming like Cool Water for women, too popular. My recommendation would be to layer it with something else if you don't want to smell like everyone else.
While I admit this fragrance is VERY overused and almost embarassingly mainstream nowadays, I LOVE it !!! I don't know why, or even how I passed it up for almost 8 years, but since I've owned it since last May, I find myself almost constantly wearing this or Chanel Chance eau Fraiche. The apples and lemon give it such a beautiful tartness, while the bluebells give it a softness that evens out the scent. This and the Chanel are my 2 constants !! LOVE LOVE LOVE it !!!
When I fist sprayed on this perfume, a burst of refreshing citrus hit me. Not too sour not too sweet, this scent is perfect for the summer. Light, refreshing, simple, and unlike most designer perfumes, not too strong, anyone can pull of this fantastic scent. It reminds me of sweet lemonade on hot summer days and is deffinatley worth a try if you like citrusy fragrances.
This is a timeless classic but in my opinion a bit too popular now. If you go to a large enough meeting it is guaranteed that a few people will be wearing this. I have not bought back the fragrance due to its immense popularity.
This is a very light and citrusy scent. Upon first spraying, the lemon notes are very dominant. After the dry down the floral notes come out. I apply the lotion first and the perfume seems to last longer.
My current favorite is D & G L'Imperatrice and Light Blue is similar to me. Citrusy, clean and almost unisex.
Other people wearing this have wafted by me and I thought, "One of these days, I'm going to try this heavenly scent." Oh dear. Three hours later and my chemistry screams "Spicy pepper!" And not in a good way. In the kind of way that clings inside my nose. No amount of scrubbing with a cloth will erase the scent from my wrists. Unlike some readers, I don't think it smells like citrus or household cleaner, but I do agree that it lasts and can also be worn by men.
I bought a bottle of this stuff at full price. Unfortunately it must be old stock and has "turned" because the scent seems faint and won't last--the beautiful top notes disappear in just a few minutes. In desperation I've tried to spritz more of it on and the result was awful. The bellflower and something else in it is very pronounced on my skin [amber maybe???], it's sharp, silvery and metallic. It's the very same scent I detest after my warm skin touches cheap jewellry. I felt gross [and dirty!].
Today I experimented a bit. After my L'eau D'Issey wore down, I spritzed on the Light Blue and huzzah! I could tolerate it. Maybe I don't have to throw out the bottle after all!?
I adore the top notes. I love the juicy freshness of the citrus and Granny Smith apples near a grove of cedar trees. Shame that my bottle is compromised. After that, all I get are flowers, again the Bellflower is most apparent on my skin. This time it's not the metallic mess it was before. In my mind I see an old fashioned English garden, with roses and pretty Bluebells [the namesake is Light Blue after all], and late-blooming apple blossoms.
It is fresh feeling, youthful, and enticing--flirty even. The combo of bluebells and juicy fruits is very appealing. Is the fragrance that started the fruity-floral craze? I honestly prefer it to the nauseatingly sugar sweet ones that sell so well here.
i love this scent and every time i wear it i get compliments and always get asked what i am wearing. i tend to think that it doesn't last all day as some of the other comments say it doesn, i find myself spraying it on to freshen it up later in the day. however, this is one scent that i will continue to buy and wear
This perfume is my signature smell. It's not over the top. It's not thick and musky. It's not heavy and overwhelming. I have never been able to find a fragrance I like as much as this. It is clean and soft. I have been wearing this perfume for years now. I still to this day have not only women but men asking me what I am wearing. It is classic and not overdone. I also do not find it annoyingly sweet and fruity like most "fresh" and "Light" smelling fragrances. Light and Simple enought to wear everyday but still sexy enough to wear out. I understand that everyone wants to be unique and wear something that is not common, but I guess if the shoe fits wear it. I love it and I don't think I will ever find a more suitable scent.
I got this perfume as a gift from my husband two years ago, and I'm ashamed to say that I haven't been wearing it much.
Very citrusy and cold fragrance. I can detect bamboo and on my skin it turns powdery in a very chilly and fresh way. It's fresh and almost unisex. I do like it on other people but I don't quite know how to wear it and feel a bit uncomfortable when wearing it.
I tested this one a couple of times and it smells like Lanvin Eclat for me safe and very sophisticated scent
This version it's so much better than male version, i like this ;D
Great fragance. it's supposed to be for women, but I completely disagree. it's a beautiful and very strong scent, wearable for both sexes... my pick for a more casual, daily scent.
So fresh, clean and delightful but also sexy - it's my favourite fragrance at present. I love the smell extremely (green apple, lemon, bamboo, cedar). I think it is a perfect scent for the office. Light Blue is suitable for all seasons and occasions.
I know that this is a hugely popular perfume, but I was incredibly disappointed in it. D & G perfumes and I have never gotten along (I think they don't last and are way overpriced) but from reading the reviews I really thought I would like it, but there is just something wrong with it. I understand the idea they had in mind to create a light, clean perfume but somewhere they went wrong. Maybe the apple note? It just smells like too many different weird things at once, I don't like it. If you are looking for a good citrus, clean scent I recommend Look by Vera Wang.
In a nutshell:
(1) Great, fresh and light citrus scent - with a hint of complexity.
(2) Has very good staying power for a scent of this type.
(3) This is a popular scent, so you will find many others wearing it, which is a negative if you want to wear something unique.
OMG...I love this fragrance. I use it a lot in the summer time...(like BLV blue also)...It smells so good... ;) i am not a fan of fresh perfumes...but this one is kind of bittery ...i feel the grapefruit...the lemon...the Musk...very sexy fragrance !!!...each time i wore Light Blue, people used to ask me what am i wearing...? Prepare you're self to recive a lot of compliments ! It last all day on me .
...i think this is a Summer holiday fragrance...love it .....
Amazing, I feel sexy wearing it. I am a man, and believe this is completely unisex.
Lovely smell! I don´t know if it should be labeled unisex, maybe it should!
Right now wherever i go in Portugal i can smell this!!!This fresh and citrusy great smell is now everywhere, unfortunately!!
When i smell this i can easily imagine a hot summer and sunny day, with a beautiful blue sky without any clouds...
Great smell!
I think Light blue for her is Black xs for men "sister"
Is Light Blue too mainstream for you? Same same but different?
Try layering it with some deep rich straight ambers - classy ones like M&G Ambre Prec. - & it turns into a delicious, meltingly-warm yet zesty amber. In case you are wondering why I would do such a thing to AP, it doesn't debase the amber at all.....but it does give LB a different, classic edge, with velvety smooth undertones & serious lasting power.
Next up - layering LB with some clear, clean citrus & watery fruity fragrances to see if it can be 'lifted'.
smells like i love love by moschino. i have them both. love it!
Light Blue is one of the few mainstream fragrances I actually like - and use. The fruity florals tend not to work on me at all, but this one does.
The opening is very fresh cocktail of citrus and green apple, but I can get the gentle amber and cedar lingering underneath. The zestiness of lemony accents and apple preserve the floral notes beautifully, usually my skin tends to turn florals quite sour.
The musk starts to emerge gradually, but on my skin this fragrance does not lose its freshness, it is probably the most lasting citrus scent I've ever tried.
I like this on summer, but it also makes a good work fragrance with it's good staying power but not at least bit intimidating presence with very fresh and uplifting qualities. I can totally see the unisex quality of this scent, actually I think that Emporio Armani White for Men stole quite a lot from this fragrance. But there are sweet and sensual notes on this, if your skin emphasizes those, the overall impression can be quite feminine.
The huge popularity is definitely a downside.
Simply gorgeous. A sparkling citrussy floral that is good any time of year. It is fresh, clean and complex and to me smells very expensive although, strangely, it can often be found for as little as £10 a bottle in the UK. I have got through a few bottles of this in the last five years, one a very large bottle and hope it is never discontinued (because the smelly things I love usually are not popular and therefore are discontinued - sob!). It seems to smell very different on each different person because a couple of times I have stopped people to ask what their gorgeous perfume is and they have said it was Light Blue. Perfume is a very personal and idiosyncratic choice so it's very hard and often inadvisable to buy perfume for someone 'blind' but I would always recommend this as a reasonably safe choice to a man wondering what to buy for a woman as I can't imagine many people not liking this perfume.
Ps. If you want a fresh 'apple' fragrance, in my opinion this is it!
A fresh and really nice fragrance. The perfume is great for hot days and nights, in winter or summer. I live in Brazil, in a extremely hot city, and I use it all the time. A really wearable one! It is great for people who does not like stronge and sweet fragrances. It can be popular, but, for me, it is still a wonderful scent that makes me feel full of energy.
The fragrance itself and it's popularity are different things, I think. The scent is perfectly balanced and very well-done, even if fruity and "light", it's not just a summer perfume since it can behave rather warm and comfortable in cooler weather. If someone tries it in winter it will naturally give a totally different impression. It's long lasting and it beautifully blooms on the skin even if it doesn't change much during the day by means of losting it's character or intensity. Light BLue is for a confident, healthy, self-consious young woman, however, teenagers use it as well and it smells different (simpler, fruitier) on most of them than on women in their 30's.
On the other hand this gorgeous fragrance became so popular that many woman doesn't use it only because of this fact. It's a shame but I really understand it, I like LB too but wander weather to wear it or not, because I don't want anyone to think I lack fantasy or personality. I wander how long this incredible popularity lasts...
Smell of a cleaning product. Light citrus scent. Annoying because it's so safe and one dimensional.
I owned this one and I have to say it is an amazing perfume, again worn by the proper wearer.
I would love to wear it again but my brain got to associate it's smell with exams and can't stand it, probably because it is so distinctive.
I would have to say go ahead and at least try it!
yes it smells citrusy, and yes everyone wears it (at least i have 3 women i know wear light blue, by my recommendation).
citrus frags are so yesterday, true.
but i live in tropical climate country where deep dark 'thick' or powerful and long lasting scent will give people headache; so light - scented frag would be perfect. and yes, im not into floral fragrance, yet in fact i own 1 or 2 for certain occasions; where fruity frags will be considered as 'childlike' or 'immature' or 'teen-like'.
to me, light blue gives me more than citrus scent. it smells like clean air in bamboo forest.crisp, clean, and i can smell the bitterness of the bamboos, but not that bitter; light blue is bitter but plain-flavored rice plays behind all that. the citrus itself is like the curtain. so, light blue for me is a bamboo forest nearby a rice-mill along with a river in tropical country like here, but all of this scene is still covered by the citrus curtain. all that i need to do is spray some, wait until the curtain falls, then i can go walk into the scene.
I don't know why it has got all this popularity especially when summer arrives; it's in the best sellers in all perfumes stores. I didn't like it and find a fragrance like Cool water a million time better for hot summer days. If you really like this one, you many try Apparition Sky (Ungaro), a cc of LB and much cheaper.
This was a silly excuse for a perfume.
If your friend sprayed this on, you'd literally have to sniff her up close cause Light Blue is nothing more than a spray of air. - If you want to smell real clean air, go outside and sniff to your hearts content.
You might like to spray this on after a cool shower, but otherwise, there is very little about it that makes it worthy.
hey guy this one is very known in our country coz the smell of this d&g blue is very attractive and easy to appreaciate..when i go to the party mostly i smell this one.its like a clean scent of citrus, cedar and floral..and most specilly you can wear this scent wheather your girl or boy.its perfect for anyone.try it and feel fresh and clean...
This is another one of my favourites. It has an interesting clean and fresh fragrance which lasts forever. A must buy!
This is fresh and has plenty of citrus notes, but it's also strong (so make sure to use it sparingly). In the opening I get a little bit of the apple and lots of the lemon. The dry-down isn't very warm, but I do get more floral and wood notes. This is a very likeable fragrance, and can be worn by a huge range of ages and in pretty much any setting.
I recognise the scent on everyone who wears it, too. But not in a good sense.
It is metallic, chemical, it hits my gall bladder and makes me sick. I had it, I bought it after sniffing it, but one inch down the bottle I couldn't stand it.
It is said to be fresh and citrusy, but it smells like toilet cleaning lotions, they are citrusy and fresh as well.
If you want a D&G perfume "that evokes the spirit of the Sicilian summer", try Sicily.
same here, but i smelled nothing but lemons that had my nose tingling too. the drydown smelt like metal
I ordered this unsniffed because of the great reviews it got but I wish I hadn't. It was to floral and always made me sneeze. I ended up throwing this away and wasteing money. It's not the perfumes fault I just perfer more gourmand florals and this was just floral with no sweetness to it IMO. I have smelt this on other women and it smells lovely it's just not for me.
I recognize this scent on everyone who wears it! I had to have it! Great scent all around!
I see it as a unisex frag, it smells nice on men. Too bad it became too popular, everyone is wearing it. IMO, it's very similar to Kenzo, only Kenzo is softer and has a cheaper smell then Light Blue.So bad it's on everybody...
Wow, I am SO in the minority here - I hate this perfume and everything it stands for, it literally makes me ill! Such an artificial-smelling scent, acrid and metallic to my nose, with that fake "marine" note that is like fingernails on a blackboard to my poor olfactory system. Unfortunately for me it's pretty popular where I live, so there is no escape....
I recieved this as gift ... It smelled like a hotel i used to visit often .. I try emptying it by using it often.. I do recieve lot of compliments for it .. But if i was shopping for fragrances .. this wouldnt be on my list .. I dont hate it .. I just feel not connected to the fragarance ... I like fresh floral scents ... This one is heavy citrusy ....
I tried to resist Light Blue, but I can´t. Since I have received a sample I know I HAVE TO HAVE IT ! It´s MY type of scent, clean, fresh, a bit sweet and also flowery. It is calm and gentle but in the same time also full of power
Lovely perfume. It smells fresh, clean, citrusy and absolutely gorgeous.
a lady i know showed me her D&G Light Blue and i fell in love. i wore my hubby's acqua di gio pour homme or CK one in my tomboy days, so this one can replace his perfumes cos it smells lighter and less 'boyish'. i love it :)
lemale75, it does seem to be a unisex smell but i have a coworker who wears the mens version and it is so sexy and clean smelling to me, unlike the womens. this may work on your body better than mine tho
liked it at first but after a while, realized it wasnt for me. it was way too citrusy and had a disgusting spit smell to it. maybe it was the clashing with my body chem. the drydown is barely there and kinda smelled like a cleaning chemical. didnt last long om me either. im sure it smells great on others tho.
I love this one! Its one of my all-time fav. I have gotten the most compliments on this. Its a light perfume that can be worn anywhere and its classy.
I went to perfumes department I dunno wat is with this lady kept introducing me to ladies perfumes. This is one of them I love the smell, nw then I found out is for women.
Yes, I realise it's a touch cliched now, but the first time I smelt this I was knocked out by just how lovely it was and I've loved it since. At every stage from that citrusy first spray right through to the last warm notes I love it. I hate the name, I dislike the fuzzy box, the lid constantly falls off in my bag and the bottle bores me, but I'm still searching for a fragrance that is the complete journey for me, as this one is.
Casual fragrance for the warmer months. This scents is not so unique, it is somewhere between an eau de toilette and body splash. I use it when I feel sporty.
I pass on this one.... the first notes were promising then it smelled synthetic room airspray and very cloying.
I must live in the only corner of the world where people don't wear this perfume! Every day I slip-stream Addict, a cabinet of CK perfumes & Miss Dior Cherie. . . Light Blue would have made a welcome change!
So, my experience is different from everyone else's - a fresh look!
Lemon sherbet with a sour, fizzy twist, cedar & fresh air. It reminds me of the male Black XS, but where BXS has strawberries, LB has lemons. On my skin I find a lot of powder (which I love). It also makes me think of Roxy Love....Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche being a very distant cousin.
On me it's strong & sweet (not something I usually like) with good sillage (lots of compliments) & a reasonable lasting power, mixing very well with salty sea water on the beach.
I am one of those who "get" this perfume - granted, it doesn't change much but its simplicity is fine by me. It's not jaded for me, so it still remains a little ray of fizzy sunshine on a hot summer's day.
I REALLY Don't like THIS... smells like JLO-Glow...
Not my kind of perfume at all.... :(
Never gonna buy this
While this perfume is certainly not as offensive as many others, ths sharp disinfectant edge is highly disappointing. If this is a standard for fresh floral fruity perfumes full of citrus accords, these "fresh" fragrances all have a long way to go. I suppose I could imagine this smelling nice on the right skin, but this one is indeed far too common and synthetic lemon drop-y...
my lifetime perfume.
the smell of 'spring'!
ıt's young, refreshing, clean. make me feel alive, strong, beautiful. and its realy long lasting. when you think its gone, someone can say you smell great.
I have it and I like it not bad at all but not amazing. I just got it today from a store that had it for only $29.99. Amazing deal huh and it is the real deal. Anyway I think it smells nice and is a good all year round perfume. I don't smell the harshness that others describe either on my skin or on paper. It is sweet and is quite unique considering I have smelt and purchased a number of perfumes that "supposedly" smelled like Light Blue. Now I have the real thing. What I love the most is the apple and the mild cedar notes. Nothing in my collection smells like it so thats a plus. Once this bottle runs out I probably wouldn't buy it again but it is definately worth it if you can find it for a good deal. ;')
Edit:
Ehh on second thought I don't really care for it that much and I just sold my bottle. Light Blue is just not for me!
I know, I know…..another review on a fragrance many have commented on already….but the funny thing is, although, I have a lot of (better) fragrances, this one gets me the most compliments!....
Believe me, I life in Switzerland where people are most discreet and do not complement on anything easily!
I like "Light Blue" a lot, but I like fragrances that "stay" with me the whole day….."Light Blue" makes an exit on my skin within 2 hours and I am not able to smell a trace of it anymore…anywhere….not even on my clothes! But strangely others can! I even got complimented and required the name of the fragrance by a complete stranger while I was visiting a friend at the hospital!
Go figure……:-/
I love it. My sisters loved it more than I did because they used my first bottle up. This is a very lovely fragrance, but for me I don't get floral fruity. To me it smells like laundry fresh from the dryer, which isn't a bad thing, because it's a very fresh clean scent. It has good lasting power and very ideal for the srping/summer.
Out of all the popular perfumes I've tried, this one is by far the most nondescript and forgettable. Which Is why I'm not quite understanding all this hype about Light Blue. On my skin, it just smells like a generic aromatic citrus. I usually have a lot to say about a perfume regardless of whether or not I like it. This is all I have to say about LB.
i love this so much!! it stays on for so long! its sporty and fresh! it smells so good. i jst bought my 3rd bottle!
An other exceptional scent from DG, I love Sicily as well. First I bought it years ago in Venice, but when I tried it I found it very sour and had headaches from it, but later i got very used to it and everybody noticed and liked it on me. Than it became too common and I stopped using it when my husband told me it reminds him of his old love.. too painful for me and for him to wear it again.. but I will love it forever.
I like this one very much..I know most keeps whining that it's common or smells like cedar shavings.. I'm happy to wear most popular scents (I'll say excluding Amor Amor... I'm constantly catching it in air from time to time... ) It smells like a lemon and apple with cedar a lot and I like it. On me it's a bit bitter and very nice. When lemony notes disappear there's cedar left with gentle hints of flowers. I love cedar smell, I enjoy to sharpen cedar-wood made pencils and sniff it then. It's sharp cedar here in this perfume. Still something freshy is left that makes this perfume perfect for hot day wear. It reminds me of holidays by the sea in my country.
Agree about furniture polish and cedar chest, but I like 'furniture' smell. :D I noticed that from bottle it smells a little different- sweet, very fresh and a bit floral. Very adorable.
Lasting power and projection is very good. Bottle nice too but I like it in smaller sizes better. The big one looks kinda cheap.
I'm not so in love with it that I would run to store tomorrow to get it.
This is the favorite of my boyfriend, maybe because I used to wear light blue when I meet him.
It´s a fresh, femenine and clean fragrance. Is long lasting and original, the bottle is beautiful.
I think is a citrus scent (I smell lemon clearly). Perfect for everyday!
This to me smells sporty, fresh, citrus and a tad bit masculine.I do like it however I don't own a bottle but from sampling this scent I think it is very nice and it will be my next purchase.
My daughter had received this as a gift from someone who received it as a gift & she was going to give it to me. We both tried it a few times & when I decided I might like it, she decided she did like it & she kept it. I sneak down & put it on sometimes. Not one I would buy, but nice now & then. I think it has to grow on you. The midnotes or drydown are better.
on me the lime scent takes over and makes me daydream about drinking tequila on a dry beach. it doesnt mesh with my personality all that well. i think it would be a great staple for a sporty kind of girl.
finally I got the chance to smell this one and I like everything about it.the bottle is transparent like most of fresh and not heavy perfumes that I adore and in fact I like "blue" very much.
in fact the top notes are not very attracting for me.it's just full of citrus without any other dominant note, like so many perfumes I've seen here and there.
but the middle and base notes are great and it gets better as it remains on skin.I feel some hints of nina by nina ricci, but it's mixed better and fresher than than.
I'm not a fan of all Olivier Cresp perfumes, but this one is well done.the only problem is that it's so common these days.so I won't look that unique wearing it.
I used to like it but after a while I couldn't stand it anymore. It is to fresh for me and I hate the fact that so many women wear it.
Very clean and refreshing, and the lemon is very prominent. It's not anything that knocked my socks off and I think its a bit over rated. Not only that but it's a very, very common fragrance.
I have smelled this on a co worker & it changed my mind about this.It actually smelled very sweet on her.I couldn't believe it.After I had told her she smelled good she said Thanks its "light blue"....I thought WHAT it cant be.I now have a new found respect for light blue.I smelled way more then just lemon but as I didn't get right up on her & smell her (though I wanted to) I cant make out any distinct prominent notes.
I will definitely be trying light blue out for a full day next time.I had stuffed the sample I had way in the back on my sample drawer but I will be pulling it up to the front today ;) But I wont wear it to work. LOL
well, as a guy, i love it. my now ex girlfriend wore this when we used to be together.the rose hints mixed on her skin drove me mad for her.now everytime i catch a whiff of it somewhere i die a little bit inside and i miss her.
Very fresh, i love it forever, but almost everyone have it. Boring!
You'd either have to be crazy or have nose problems to NOT like this fragrance. I adore this scent!!! Cool, light, subtle refreshing and very feminine - It's everyone all-time favourtie fragance - which is my biggest problem with this scent, that and the price.
I wore this fragrance for about two years straight when it first came out. Three bottles later. It smells like lemons and granny smith apples. Refreshing. Too many people wear it now though.
I adore it! I feel fresh, clean and excited. I love wear it in a very hot summer day because of the cold feeling it gives you. My boyfriend finds it very sexual and seductive.
Light Blue is nice for day wear but rather masculine and lemony for me.
Absolutely love this perfume. It's the perfect perfume and I definitely need more.
I only have one word for this perfume and that's "BESTSELLER". It smells fresh and clean. Downside too common.
i cannot for the life of me understand why this is a bestseller...all i can smell is strong lemon, and after that, it settles down into the cliche base notes: amber and musk. i think it is quite linear and rather boring even.
Its a nice scent, but too citrus and masculine for me.
I know this scent is a bestseller, but I didn't really find anything memorable about it. It is 'light', but I couldn't really pick out any notes in particularly. I won't be buying a large bottle of this--glad I only invested in the mini.
Update: Based on the popularity of this one, I decided to try it again. Now my opinion is ever worse! My husband asked if I was wearing Lemon Pledge, and I have to agree. Yuck--giving this one away!
this is my fave perfume i love it so much, it makes me full of life...:) love it!
too many women use this perfume. that mean, i don't want to use it anymore. you can recognize it so easy. but, every time i smell it, i have too many associations :(
It is a twin of Moschino Love Love (or vise versa), very citrusy, over the top. The combination of lemon scent with cedar is lovely (like in Chance Fraishe, which is very gentle and elegant), but in Light Blue slash Love Love it's way overdone!
Update: I should correct myself, because I think, I oversprayed it last time. Georgeous citrus scent! Really worth its price and popularity!
This perfume's name fits it perfectly- "Light Blue" is bland, ubiquitous- background noise in a bottle. Just as the color is a popular, if uninspired choice, "Light Blue" is the soul of mediocrity. Its a blast of citrus, then fade to static.
i like this a lot! smells like rose pedals. I give it an A!!!!!!!
About 2 months ago I made a list of all the best-selling fragrances around the globe and made it my duty to try them all. Light Blue was on this list.
I would love to have had a picture taken the moment I sniffed this for the very first time. I think I was in utter disbelief as to how people loved this perfume. All I got from this fragrance was a strong, sour burst of lemon. I usually associate lemon scents to detergents and cleaners around my home.
This was in no way a pretty or feminine fragrance. I have Moschino Funny! which is slightly similiar, but more floral and much lighter. I consider Funny! a better alternative to Light Blue. I will however add that men seem to love this fragrance, even though they agree with me when I say it's strong and lemony sour.
Fragrance for the modern-casual yet simple woman. This fragrance is light and clean yet sophisticated and refined due to its complex scent.
An impish note of green apple emanates from the latest creation of the most impertinent of italian designers. Light blue, is not a lighter version despite its name. It sparkles with flowers and fruit notes that are an enticement to joie de vivre. The fragrance opens on a fresh and gourmet note of sicily cedar, granny smith apple and bluebells. The middle note is a bouquet of jasmine, bamboo and white rose. The end note reveals hints of cedarwood, amber and musk.
This is the best perfume I have bought in years. It is absolutely stunning. It is very longlasting and fresh. I could bathe in it. When I first bought it 3 years ago, I kept having to smell the wrist which I sprayed it on because I could not get enough of it. I find that it is a very uplifting scent and I have had so MANY compliments on it. There is another perfume called mosschino, which smells very similar but I don't like it as well.
Too much citrus in this perfume, it's fresh, long-lasting but I don't think I will buy it again. Very ordinary scent.
First time i teasted it was a great fragance, i knew my Mom want it so i gave it to her as a christmas gift, after that, it was hard to me smellt it every time my mom wear it, it was because i was pregnat, and now, 2 years later my sister in law has it and i can not be near her when she used it, i guess it is because i remember the morning sickness this perfume made me had. But being honest it is a soft and chic fragance.
This scent is pleasant enough, but it reminds me of air freshener in a bathroom. I kept sniffing it and thinking, I would really like my bathroom to smell like this. It smells like floral lemon Pledge. It's a heap of citron with a dash of sweet florals, and a pinch of wood. Too much citron/lemon smell for me. Lasting power is good though, 4.5+ hours on me so far...
i always make it a sure i have this in mah list!!! just like dkny be delicious, so refreshing scent!!! simple but argh i guess almost everyone have this and an alternate btw of this is the moschino's i love love!!! =] xoxo
So fresh! Reminds me of scooting on a Vespa around the hairy scary twisty turny roads along the way to Positano in the height of summer. The sparkling blue water way below me, the bright blue sky above, the wind in my hair... Not that I've done it that way, doing it in a crowded bus with a crazy driver and being bus sick, is much less romantic! Anyway, Light Blue is very lemon zesty and crisp green appleish. A touch sharp, is that the cedar? but only when it first goes on. I get a hint of white musk and fresh lime zest too and those woods seem bright, can woods be bright? Maybe the scent of them brushing past you with the scent of citrus in a warm breeze. The florals are lovely too, but I could not have picked them for bluebells, jasmine or white rose if they hit me over the head. Either way, it all adds up to a bright and invigorating summer scent!
this smell would be much better if everyone didnt already have it
one of my favs fragances for her, lovely fruity-musky unique and sexy, especially in warm days.
Cedar and lemons....step up from furniture polish. I can't understand where they came up with the name. Heavy Yellow sounds more appropriate. I liked it at first till I got tired of smelling like a cedar chest.
I find the perfume a little disappointing. It is very flat on my skin.It does not work well with my chemistry at all.
I get a burst of Lime rind & very little else.If I really search for it I can find the cedar & a very slight tinge of floral but it is so light I can't make it out.
I would say that this would be nice in the summer as it is so full of citrus.I myself would not wear such a bland scent but it may work well on you??
I know a lot of people love it. Not being one of them, I find Light Blue rather flat and one sided. I only get lemon and some apple, no jasmin nor rose or whatsoever. It's very fresh and nice for summers I guess, but doesnt evolve much on my skin. Im gld I only got a minature instead of a whole bottle, as my sister wasnt very keen on it either.
It's the best ever and not a bit boring. Downside: so many people know it and like it and ... wear it.
D & G have succeeded to create a fragrance that is a modern classic, being capable of capturing something very essential of our times. Light Blue also seems to allure loads of women considering the countless bottles of it sold around the globe since its launch. LB is a true "democratic" perfume so to speak, as anyone can wear it no matter what age or style or nationality she is. It is very likeable, excellent, easy-going and carefree choice for all kinds of occasions.
This was my first perfume ever. Light, zesty and refreshingly sugary sweet but not overwhelming! Doesn't change throughout the day and lasts an exceptionally long time. My boyfriend loved it on me; always asked me to wear it. I thought about getting the homme light blue for him but its just not the same. Like it a lot. A safe scent. Recommend it to those who keep it simple and sweet.
I smell citronella in it...almost an antimoskito lotion...but I like it and it is long lasting too...
I sooo wanted to love this fragrance, however it did not work very well for my chemistry.
It did smell extremely great on my husband so I gave it to him! lol
It is a Unisex fragrance IMO and works very well wit his chemistry.
It just wasnt girly enough for my personal tastes.
Perhaps its the cedar?
When I wear this perfume I got a lot of compliments but only from girls!(-__-)
I really don't know why? But I still love it and use it anyway coz it smells so good to me!
My auntie said it smelled like dirty armpit on her hahahahaha. That's a very bad comment though!
I think it's depend on your own chemistry. Nobody smells the same. But to me this perfume is my favorite and now I use the third bottle!
The fact that this perfume has the greater number of reviews on this site, speaks of it being special.... I love this perfume, but hate the fact that everyone has eather had it or has it...
it is so special, u just can't not turn your head and nose, if someone passes by wearing it...
when i first smell it i thought it was a pour HOMME(for men) perfume. actually i love this scent on men too masculine for my taste
"I do not understand why some would say this is unisex"
Yes... neither do I, cedawnn1 :)
This one is a feminine scent... I agree: its like sea breeze :) sensuous and relaxing
This a great everyday fragrance for when you want to smell fresh, yet pretty and comforted. I do not understand why some would say this is unisex; I would think oddly of a man that would wear this scent. I like how Light Blue is not sweet and cloying. Instead, it is a soft, citrus scent that has something in it that reminds me of a sea breeze. I love the ocean, so that might be why I like this scent a lot. However, Victoria's Secret Pink with a Splash in Fresh & Clean is pretty much a duplicate of Light Blue and much less expensive. Plus, I usually like fruity-florals when I can spray them all over my body, and the VS scent is more appropriate for that. It lasts long too, so I'll stick to that instead.
Love it, light, sensual, fresh and sweet. I had it many years ago, but still remember that fragrance.
I was expecting to love this scent since it is so popular. I got my hands on a sample, and it does not react nicely with my chemistry. I like citrus but this doesn't do it for me. I will have to say that the lasting power is excellent, though.
I found it a bit generic as well..I mean, personaly to me it's nothing special. Fresh, but it is the feshness of the soap's or shampoo's kind..or clean clothes
metallic, winterchill, cold and icy, very woman in careerish, not a scent you would wear if you want to give a impresson of warmth and intimacy.I was given this as a present but had to give it away. the metallic edge to this scent triggers my migraine at once.. my mom bought it unknowing of this and I had to ask her not to wear it when we meet.
Now my boyfriend´s sister wears it and how do I tell her that on the few times we get together It would be best if she left that one at home?!
this is my first 100 ml. perfume that i bought. i smelt this scent from my korean friend but i don't ask her.Luckily i see d&g.so i found it.i think it's light but i like it.because i like to buy perfume that can wear every occasions.
This perfume is a summery clean, crisp perfume but has somewhat of a "powdery" drydown on my skin, which I haven't read happens to anyone else. I've been wearing a sample of this, and I probably won't purchase the full bottle. I think it smells pretty in the bottle, but does something strange on my skin. Oh, and it really is no big deal that this is popular and alot of people wear it. So what? Fragrances smell different on different people's chemistry, anyway.
Got this because I heard so many people say they loved it. On me--kinda smelled like bug spray.NOT GOOD.
One of the most popular fragrance in my country. Really delicious, but you can smell it anywhere.
My favorite perfume, however i don't feel as unique anymore when I wear it. Many other people own this fragrance because it is very simple and beautiful. I wear this whenever I want to feel a little more professional.
For me, it's an everlasting unisex parfume for daily used.
For me, it's an everlasting unisex parfume (it's my dad's fave also) for daily used.
Fine, fresh, delicate citrus notes makes me remember the passion fruit and watermelon :), but softly ...
It could be a subtle and lasting touch of fresh feminine scent to wear in relaxing moments...
I think it's a type of sexy breeze :)
Maybe common ... But even so smell nice :D
Good to the bed... and sleep :)
Suitable for summer days?: Yes ... and whenever you want, because for low temperatures are very fine too.
It's light, cold, fresh lemon scent, very long lasting, but common...I use it almost every summer.
My boyfriend gave a sampler bottle to me on Valentine's Day (lol!) I love the colour light blue, but I've got to admitt this fragrance is very sharp, like alcohol - and yes, this was observed AFTER the first few minutes of spraying it. The one other thing I can detect is that it's a very "light" floral. I know other people like it, but it just doesn't work for me.
I really liked it but one time an older lady in the elevator said "Ohhh Blue Light, I love it...I will get it soon". Well, every since then I was not excited about wearing it. I don't like the idea that it's so easy to recognize...even by older ladies.
I have clone of it - Salvador Dali Eau De Rubylips!
I do feel that this one and Thierry Mugler's Cologne share the same base notes. Very interesting summer scent for women. Clean, fresh, bright, and lovely. Except the bottle, too cheap, too ugly, just like a body wash stuff.
its very similar to moschino which i have, but a bit sweeter and more refined as i noticed, so maybe i will purchase it once, but now i wear moschino i ilove love,
I bought it right after it came out and it wasnt so popular. I felt great and unique wearing it.. Now it is just boring, when smelling it out and it does happen every single day, I just think, hm another girl..
My husband hates it - so much so that he complains bitterly whenever I wear it, which is odd given that it is less in your face than many - I suspect he doesn't like the citrus notes
Generally a well rounded scent that most people can agree on.. it was special when it first came out but now it's lost its unique-ness as you can tell that it has become the basic generic form for many other new tweeked scents such as Dolly Girl by Anna Sui, the Escada summer scents, Abercrombie, and even the Paris Hilton scent is slightly reminiscent of Light Blue! Nevertheless, it's still a very popular scent that can be easily identified on people. It can go for every season but i think it's most suitable for the warmer weathers. This scent makes me very happy when i wear it. It's not a complex mixture of confused notes like Chance and it's not strong.. I would say that it's rather a more classic, gentle, clean, creamy, slightly fruity, and overall innocent scent. However, it's not the sexy, elegant, glamorous, musky scents. The lasting power is pretty good for a light fragrance like this. I put it in my hair at 7:00pm and can wake up smelling it the next day! It's something that i can wear without getting tired of... it's not headache inducing thank goodness! the only down side is that it's not as concentrated as i wanted it to be and also although this is a very agreeable scent it's still not the type of scent that would define who i am.
Gentle, pretty citrus like and fresh. Cedar gives fine woody note that dominates. Later it becomes a bit sweet. For summer, with no attachments. I like it especially for his freshness.
i love this perfume...my sister in-law wears it so to me this perfume is for a woman who turns heads everytime she walks in a room, and is beautiful and confident. it smells like confidence.
Very very nice. Light, very nice to wear it everyday. The only problem is that everybody is wearing it....
I tried this and couldnt stand it all day on my skin, it made me nausious, it was a little overwhelming
I still really don´t know, what so special about this perfume- ok, some perfumes are nice, but with time they become little boring, but this...i¨ve tried it hundred times...a-a..definitively not for me. This is almost the only perfume, odher love it but it stinks to me.
i like it forever it's active and full of energy and more better for lazy summer days as it gives you a strange power to do everything and makes you love your life
Nice and fresh. I think it is a unisex perfume.
I didnt sense it anyone for a long time now until yesterday a girl passed wearing it..
It's really refreshing with a fruity burst, an everyday scent. I think Moschinos I love love bears some resemblance to this one.
I used to really, REALLY love it, but not as much anymore..maybe it's because it's gotten too common now...I've kinda grown a little tired of it:(
I just don't get it how it became so popular!
It's light and nothing special, i find it dull and it is not long lasting... at least on me!
nice fragrance, unfortunately common now and because of this..hard to identify with it(cuz..a lot of ppl do:)
Light Blue is just not my thing. I really feel something 'blue' about it and for my taste, that's not exactly a good thing. But this is definitely a great quality perfume (besides being a commom scent) and I received TONS of compliments everytime I wore this. It smells like 'clean', which I really like and it's great for almost any occasion. Too bad I don't really like it :/
A very pleasant everyday scent, especially in hot weather.
It's rather expensive, though, and that's why I opt for less steep clones.
For me this is the fragrance that reminds me of times at the beach, the waves, the sand, the sun. Love it for summer.
I wanted this, but the more I think about it the more I start to change my mind. I little to boring for my taste and not enough girly appeal.
Many men use it also, considered very unisex, reminds me of Black XS for men.
I really hate it...I used it 4 years and I loved it and never made a different choice but I started to hate it...too banal fragrance that irritates me with these notes that i liked before
One of my all time favourites! I never get tired of it. Fresh and sexy at the same time...
This perfume seems to smell better on others than me. There are better perfumes for me than this.
At the beginning I was not sure about it but my boy-friend just loved it so much that I ended up buying it. Now I have finished the bottle, it was a great parfume, it is quite simple and it does not change during the day. I think I'll buy it again in the future.
Nice, but a little boring.
Great if you want to blend in with the crowd and not be noticed. Which is not always a bad thing.
Citrus and apple dominate this fragrance.
I agree, it lasts all day but it's annoying cause almost everyone have it.
Wasn't as great as I thought it would be, very strong and sweet.. almost cloying. A little goes a long way and the scent does last all day.
