It's marketed to men, but it's totally unisex, just like many other expensive niche houses that make unisex woody perfumes--except that Redwoods is better and more affordable. It's an unbelievably beautiful, lovable fragrance. Actually, it's more truly woody and of higher quality than any woody niche I've encountered. It really does smell like the redwoods, which being from Northern California, I've had the pleasure of visiting countless times. It's a simple fragrance, yet it has just the right touches to make it interesting. It's fairly linear, maybe with a smidge of citrus in the opening, but that quickly fades into a strong redwood (and I'm talking about the wood, not the greens of the tree) with a subtle powderiness and sweetness, so it is very easy for women to wear, yet most men won't be turned off.
Redwood is clearly the keystone in this composition, which is so rare, and that alone is a quality that makes this perfume an absolute must for my collection. It's hard to imagine anyone not liking this. Redwoods reminds me of Odin's Tanoke only because they are both strong in redwood, but Tanoke has the pepper and smells very literally like a tree and unfortunately a lot like a candle. With Redwoods, you will not smell like a candle.
Redwoods is easy, casual, comfortable and suitable all year due to its naturalness. Can't stop singing its praises....
