I like this alot! Really great for summmer. I tend to like amber/iris powdery violet/hyacinth (i do pick up more iris than violet, I know iris isn't listed) scents the best and well this is a fantastic summer version.

Almost reminds me of L'instant magic only a e'te summer version... I mostly pick up amber and iris (an earthy iris). It starts off with alot of lemony citrus.. that quickly fades to a spiced orange smell, and them mostly powder iris/violet amber.

Does not smell like sun tan lotion, but maybe has an note or two that is often in suntan lotion.

I feel a touch of salt,Sort of smells like if you were at the beach all day with a gorgeous smelling suntan lotion, then went home to a bath and powdered. Just great, very nice, nearly perfect for casual everyday ..summer wear, (also great/non offensive for work)... I also pick up a touch of floral, maybe jasmine, oh correction, must be orange flower.. and just a hint of spice with a slightly woody nuance, coming from the bergamont and coumarin.. the dry cedar helps to provide balance, it's smooth.. not too smooth and the musk seems to help with projection / sillage, which is fair to, actually kind of close to skin, balmy/powdery

... I'm very very happy with my 20 dollar purchase for a 3.4. I'd sugget picking up a bottle quick before word gets out and poof the price soars.. I've stocked up, and found a full size 6.8 lotion at tj max on clearnce for 5 dollars x) ..ooh just took another sniff on my arm a single spray 60 minutes later.. and it's just lovely so prety without being overtly girly... actually I'm thinking a guy could definently wear this as well, just softly/barely sweet, not cloying in the least (clubbing approved as well, lol)... Will report back on longevity :)

And the muget is definently detectable, very nice

Just reviewed the note for l'instant magic, YUP ...prety close, I'd say this is like a Guerlain L'instant Magic Veil :). I love L'instant magic, but it's stronger and create a big aura around oneself, so you really need to be in the mood for it, this is much easier to wear... so those days when LM is a bit too much, I'll reach for this. My new 'go to' fragrance

This is also reminding me of a love child between Chloe love and Hermes Mervielles eau Claire

BTW, I find bronze to be a very fitting name for this
and I also find this similar to lolita lempika, however it's far less sweet, and not as much spice. Violet isn't as dominant

3 hours and going strong, now reminds me of a slightly more earthy or dirty/smokey prada iris (this with lotion and perfume)maybe a little more like donna karan's iris ... less sweet though

reporting back - just did 40 minutes on my treadmill, as my body temprature rised this did not only release some lovely spice and citrus that I detected early on but is not cloying in the least.. I agree this does seem to liven up in the heat.... where as when i went on my treadmill wearing theirry mugler's Alien sunescence l'ambre .... it became very cloying, like when a man pours on far too much of a rancid cologne that you cant help but notice and beg him to scrub it off. I also believe in the cold it's more of a barely there scent... if that's not your think.. you may not like this, but yeah, try it in the sun

So yeah, this to me is absoloutely perfect for summer!

Ooooo! I love this! I like Ellen Tracy Linda Allard, so when I saw this at Marshall's marked down to $20 for a three-piece gift set, I looked it up here on Fragrantica. Thank you all of you who wrote the great reviews because I agree that this is a marvelous fragrance, much better than "Ellen Tracy Ellen Tracy" or ET LA. Both of those I like mostly for the dry-down, but this one I love from beginning to end.
The other two have a weird bitter note at the beginning for me, but this one sure enough is lovely citrus at the start. And the dry-down is so luscious; the flowers and the woods are nicely balanced, and it's nice in the lotion as well. I agree that the name seems wrong for it; I suppose they wanted to convey a beachy feeling.

It cannot fit the color of the bottle and not fit the name: bronze - is the color (from the color of the metal alloy). The name IMHO has nothing to do with summer, beach & so on… It’s more about copper (and the smell has a metallic side to it). The first thing I’ve thought when smelling it was: iris (didn’t knew the notes) , SR for women NFM EDP and Grey Flannel. From the notes I suppose is violet and violet leaves. I love SR and GF, so I liked this one. But on me it has less staying power.

I picked up a small bottle of this at Marshall's in Santa Barbara, California yesterday. It is nothing like what I expected based off of the listed notes. When I wear scents with violet's in them they are what dominates my skin. This has nary a violet to be found to me. It is very similar to the dry down of Flowerbomb or Fancy or Amarige Mariage on my skin. Powdery, sweet, floral and comforting. I do not see amber listed in the notes, but cedar mimics that on my skin so that is why it may also remind me of Hilary Duff's With Love. A very nice scent. I also picked up a small bottle of Elizabeth Arden's True Love and I will be returning that soapy hot mess tomorrow to the Marshall's in my town to see if I can perhaps exchange it for another bottle of Ellen Tracy Bronze. I think this would be wonderful in the fall and winter but there is something that the warm spring sun brought out that is delightful! Besitos!

my first time wearing and i LOVE it. it's last 4 hrs so far and i smell it distinctly on my wrists. i smell the violets, rose and musk the most. a little of the cedar and on dry down i can smell a bit of citrus. this is just so warm and cozy. a definite comfort scent. i can't seem to get enough of this lovely fragrance. a big 10 for this one.

I smell Voilets with a capital "V" and a soft warm amber and clean musk base. I am wondering if there is something wrong with my nose because I totally missed any indication of citrus on the top. It brings to mind those little violet pastille candies. So dainty! Anyway, this is nice fragrance, not for me, but I can appreciate it's graceful composition.

I really love this. At first it begins with a blast of sparkling lemonade, which is a little overwhelming at first, but doesn't last long. But the drydown is simply beautiful. Fresh, but still warm and a little sweet. Reminds me a little on a suntan lotion, and a tinge of Victoria's Secret Heavenly (I think that's the one I'm thinking of, a teacher in HS used to practically bathe in the stuff.) Seems to be lasting quite well, going on strong for a little over 3 hours. I can see myself wearing this a lot in the summer.

This reminds me an awful lot of Lolita Lempicka.

I am taking an herbal medicine course right now and, strangely enough, we drank violet tea yesterday. It seems like I can't escape violets this week but I am in no way bothered by this....I absolutely adore them. This is really a lovely scent and not what I was expecting from Ellen Tracy. Not that her other fragrances are not nice but the several I have or have tested do not stand out to me in any way and always dry down to a generic muskiness on my skin. Bronze is a nice little surprise.
At initial spritz, the bergamot and lemon are all I smell but are quickly overtaken by woodsy violet, sweet mandarin and soft baby powder. There's a candy undertone as it dries down that makes me think of caramel...perhaps the amber and honeysuckle? As time wears on I smell something soft and bubbly, like cola mixed with the smell of old-timey lipstick made for little girls ..hmmm. It's not a strong scent...on me anyway...I could see myself reapplying several times throughout the day just to amp it up.Seems to last ok though.

In my opinion, it is a lighter and more sweetly fresh(mandarin),less sophisticated, more baby powdery version of Lolita Lempicka minus the sharper, medicinal tone.If you are a fan of violets and/or Lolita Lempicka, you will probably enjoy this one.

Based on the description of this fragrance on the Macy's website, I was curious to try this fragrance. In my mind, I like citrusy scents, but I understand that they need to be underpinned by other notes that make them less furniture polish in nature.

I really lucked out last night, and found a 3.3oz size at Ross for $7. Ladies and gentlemen, look at discount stores, especially now in the holiday season! You may just get lucky like me.

I couldn't wait to get home to try it out. (I'm quickly becoming a perfume junky). I wore it all last night, and this morning added more before heading to work. I really enjoy the citrus opening, lemon and orange and something that adds a sparkle-like quality. This dies down, but returns in waves, but what remains is a warm vanilla, amber, and a bit of cedar. I'm enjoying it, but find myself needing the perk of the citrus opening, so I'll probably re-spray throughout the day. (At $7 for 3.3 oz, I can certainly afford it).

Addition: I've found that while I usually only use one spritz on my wrist, by adding another spritz to my hair keeps the "waves" going most of the day.

One negative comment, I really hate the cap on this: plastic and cheap feeling. I keep it off on my tray and hide it until I need to travel with the bottle.

Update: As JazzBirdSinger noted above me, the price at most stores is more for the 3.3oz bottle. As a clarification, when I bought this at Ross, and I said I was "lucky", I was partially lucky because the store incorrectly priced my box. Their mistake was clearly my gain!

Doesn't fit its name -- it is not beachy or bronze-y or summery at all, but it does fit the color of the bottle. I get green apple, powdery vanilla and cedar. Would be good for rainy or fall weather. Lasts a long time, all day. Comfort scent. Very warm and versatile. I bought it for those reasons.

thanks to Nataliez i have this in hand. This is so nice. starts off citrusy fresh , but not anoying, it mixes very well whit the apple and Orange flowers , Almost eathable. fresh and jucy.
then the Violets comes stikking its face forward. want to play .The honeysucle and the lilly off the valley is there to . but just as a blend and reminder off white flowers .
The Heliotrop is tipp toing in to the symphonie and makes the whole thing for ,me . There is a fresh sweetnes , powderynes . off sweet almonds . and it is so delicios whit the rest off the notes. musk cedar and amber , well i can detect them that much . the Orchid is there to but not to much . I dont like that much orchid in perfumes , but in this its just a nice mixture white the rest notes .
I love love the powderynes mixing sweet and fresh at the same time on my skin . and it lasts a realy long time . i think this whould be one off the perfume memoryes off this summer . Very lovely indeed.

big thanks to Nataliez for a very nice gift :)

Tested this one today at Macy's and LOVE IT! Just gorgeous scent! This is on top of my list to purchase. It dries down to a soft almost sensual powdery fresh scent, but no where near that powdery scent of Cashmere Mist which I don't like. My husband loved it too! So that is definatley a good one in my book.

Gorgeous...sweet and woodsy, and Bronze definitely has depth to it. It's probably going to be my favorite from this year. I love the slightly citrus top notes combined with the violet/cedar base...it would probably be a good fragrance year round.
