Just got a 40 ml bottle what a creative compsition really i want to drink my bottle, the color of the juice the smell 100% cognac.
The top note little bit hard to detect then the magic comes in the middle notes the luxurious Cognac the finist one from Rusia. The dry down is super musky mixed with carnation.
I consider this a Finist perfume in my collection.
a true classic.
6 years ago Sephora was selling this at 2 bottles of the 3.4oz size for $30 or so. I bought it and gave one bottle away. Now my remaining half bottle has a broken spray mechanism and I am saddened. A bit leaks out every time I try but I now regret all the years I ignored this exquisite fragrance.
How wonderful that wonder, I had read several reviews of this perfume and I must say that this fragrance radiates enthusiasm and good humor: sandalwood and the famous liqueur are a scream, a caress infinite from sunrise until the first star of the evening, his life is great and its particular power make this (almost) vintage one of the classic essential, soft, mellow, sweet, sharp, woody, magnetic, spiritual and above all manly. Insofar as the packaging glass bottle decorated with a finely knurled cap gold leafed and a liquid that is amber pure, I am not exaggerating but this fragrance is really a bomb.
Seeing is believing.
Back in the day, I was receive 1ml sample. First impression is very bored and ignore about it until the vial broke, then I realized this is very very sexy, luxurious and keep on its smell in my room for a week! missing this so much.
Only for very, very special occasions. Probably one of the finest colognes in my entire collection.
The classic work in its original notes will not initially Mvtvjh true and likely not be popular, but after a while become Baklas smell is lovely, classic
suits and official looking suit
still searching for something similiar....as the original no more to be seen/smell!!!!!any suggestions for something this masculine and elegant?!...
Oh yum yum yum.. Escada.. really is a step above so many! look at these notes.. and Escada blends them all together so nicely, I bought this for a freind, I wish I bought it for my boyfriend.
This is boozy old school swank! Men want to be him, girls want to devour him! lol
It's classy, distinguished, elegant yet strong and does things his own way, not afraid to be himself, sexy, intriguing, wordly, ! it's the fFrank Sinatra of men's perfume. x)
Very unique! I cant think of anything this smells like.
The guy / man that wears this always looks good without looking like he caers.. hes far too cool for that, but dont be mistaken he always looks good
Imagine walking into a classy bar, there's a piano playing a the fireplace is lit softly smoking.. wearing your best mens cologne, sitting at the bar, ordering a brandy, unlit cigarette in your mouth, brandy in one hand and a lighter in the other.. lifting your hand up to your face...lighting the cigarette, as you do this, you can clearly smell your top of the line cologne your brandy and maybe some spices from the mojito from the lady sitting next to you
ooozing with the kind of sexiness that makes women swoon....oh yes, "play it again sam" ;)
Silage more than decent longevity very good
i remember rockin this one in the mid 90's wore it on a cruise with some buddies downt to ensenada..instead of the love boat it was the drunk boat..but anyway this really attractive lady comes up to me and asks, my god, what cologne are you wearing? i remember how potent and masculine it was, i had the splash..repurchased a few times until i drifted away from it...but i still have a bottle of this..i purchased tom fords for men...i blind bought when it first came out, i loved the advertisement for it..figured it had to be special, so surprised ...thought wow , escada with a little refinement..i think i prefer escada overall...great fragrance..it is for when you want to stand out...love it.
When I was 18, years ago, I realized I needed to grow beyond the Brut 33 gift set I got for christmas annually. I walked into a Saks and headed for the men's counter. When I was asked "What scents do you like?", I was suddenly shook with the memory of a short story where a peevish orphan son discribed the smell of new-found fun-loving drunkard father as a heddy combination of cigars, shoe polish, gin, and cheap aftershave. I asked for the same, but in a good way.
Desipte the wince, the saleman I think got the message and produced a bottle of Escada for Men. Despite the qualficiation "It is a bit expensive", I bought the bottle.
The selection met my request dead-on. It does initally smell like you bathed in Cognac, but it gives way to a floral and spice notes during the day. In the evening the Cognac comes back, like a cocktail to end the day, topped with a leather and vanilla, hinting a cigar. Morining yeilds to a vanilla and powder scent, soothing your rise to meet the day.
Needless to day, I love this scent. It fits me, and I fit it. It can be hard to find, and I hope they never discontinue it....I might need to stock up.
Escada pour Homme smells like my grandpa -may he r.i.p...it rly smells way too "classic" n old.....not for me!
Lavender, sweet booziness, and sandalwood make this too harsh for me, though I wouldn't be surprised if it had been reformulated and I sampled an inferior version. I prefer Le Dandy, which isn't as sweet and doesn't have the sharpness either. The vintage version of Nicole Miller for Men is also less sharp/harsh, but possesses similar qualities. Of course, if you like sharp, sweet fragrances, this is one to at least sample.
UPDATE: I obtained what I think is the original version and like this fragrance! I don't smell much beyond the top notes but then within an hour it really comes together, with a nice sandalwood note and a subtle boozy quality, along with the soft patchouli/vanilla one finds in the popular Mugler/A*men fragrances, though here it is subtle, as I prefer.

This is one of those fragerances that smells classy, elegant and expensive. IMO, it's better suited for a man 30+ because it is indeed a mature smell.
one of the best scents ever i like & Very classic. Elegant, masculine, for romantic or special evenings.
Longevity 10/10
Sillage 9/10
Scent 9/10
The best
Dandiest ultra-chic perfume ever!
A sharp aquatic spicy beverage odor makes it luxuriously masculine and elegant in opening which gives me aura and makes me crazy! It’s the smell of xo genuine cognac and reminds an autumnal dress in front of fireplace diving into a comfort sofa, smoking your tobacco pipe! A perfect day which is passed by a romantic rendezvous!
Romantic, this word describes perfectly. Romantic and lovable smell that women are crazy about. They feel safe and trust on you as a manly man. It’s not so overpowering but is so sexy and erotic; try it on evenings and nights.
Friendly and complex, it’s a perfume you may not wear it on any occasion, but you can wear it easily any time of the year. I prefer autumn and a woolen coat!
Longevity: fairly so good. Lasts more on woolen textile and less on skin, 8/10
Projection: horribly perfect; it catches all noses around you, 10/10
I love this on my hubby he likes it too! All the blends are easy on the nose that is why I like it. We are always able to find it value priced at Marshalls!
Friendly and simple
you can use it for every mounths
i love it

Escada Pour Homme by Escada. Everything in this scent demands attention. The strength of the Cognac note really dominates the first half of it's lifespan on my skin then develops a sweet almost powdery vanilla with a shadow of the cognac. I would have loved it to be more spicy than sweet to compliment the boozy warmth. I really love the way this smells on my skin but feel as if I need to be older or a least wearing a shirt and tie to match this refined and attention-demanding scent. My girlfriend is not thrilled when she smells it on me, calling it "old drunkard". Can't wear it at work, as I'm employed as an Addictions Counselor. For an older man or woman who wants people to know they are well-to-do and enjoy the occasional indulgent vice. Or apply a bit on yourself, sit by the fire with your loved one and intoxicate them with this opulent oriental-meets-gourmand.
My mate! My best friend for best part of my life!
I really like it! But scarcely can be found. Among classical perfumes, this one is something interesting, something different that is both classic and modern. It's got a sugary peppery scent that I'm not straight with it now; I remember the days people used to tolerate heavier scents!
My uncle had been gifted about 15 years ago when I was a teenager and I used to spray it furtively till I stole it cause I hadn't enough money to buy! You know how teenagers are!!!
Hahhh... all the memories in a bottle! Wishes and dreams of being a complete man! Being a dandy boy alluring and charming girls! Unfortunately, today, I'm so far from this taste, but my gold memories are still in its bottle, see. Although I may never use it again, I won't forget it.
It's an extremely rich, masculine and overwhelming perfume! Proper for autumn, I suggest on a dark brown coat when you have flowers in your hand waiting for an elegant, velvety and divine feminine!
Longevity 10/10
Sillage 9/10
Scent 7/10 but once a time it was 10/10
Just received a 40ml bottle from Fragrancex. I had this gem more than 10 years ago. Grew tired of it and gave it to my grandmother! Lol... Now, after I became a perfume addict, I decided to give it a chance again. Thank God I did, because it is such a great fragrance. The initial blast is a bit too strong, but pay attention to its evolution on the skin. It goes all the way to become a very comfortable and charmy fragrance. NEVER , I said NEVER, wear it on a hot day, or you might get really sick. It's for more formal occasions (not sooo formal), and for nights or colder days. there's no mistake here. Great sillage. I have just spritzed once in my wrist to test it and it's the only smell in my room right now.
one of the best scents ever i like the cognac note.
O my this was a great buy! I have not smelled anyone wearing Escada Homme in a very long time, so I thought I would give it a go. I remember it smelling of an elegant man who has class, morals, intelligence & value! Its smells of an upper class gentelman who walks with his head high! It also smells of a man around the age 40+! Now im in my late 20's but I can pull this off! It is superb!!!! Would be best worn in the cold seasons & rainy days! I will only pull this out for gatherings such as church, meetings or even on a date. The first initial blast I must say it is very unpleasant, smells of urine to me. After about 10 minutes it revolves into a priceless masterpiece with the cognac & mandarin becoming more potent to my nose! There is a breeze out doors & I get a nice whiff of Escada Homme & cant keep from sniffing my hand! & I got this gift set at a terrific deal! The cologne 2.5 oz & the shower gel 5.1 oz for $30! Boy was I pleased!
mellow, cozy and warm - these are the words that describes this scent the best!
Imho, it's more suitable to wear on mid-autumn nights. It's very soothing and unobtrusive.
The bouquet of warm classic notes in Escada pour homme is almost unrivaled.
These days when Lagerfeld classic and classic Pierre Cardin are made with less sophistication, and Lagerfeld KL for men is becoming a mere memory - why on earth was Escada pour homme discontinued ? It had the niche of warm gentleman almost to itself !
Distinguished From the Old Times!.its very strong masculin. i like it 2much
actually this type of perfumes when you wear.the others will aske you about the name of.I like also the shape of the bottle.& agreed With Opinion that said this perfume for the smokers because when its mix with =MARVELOUS
Classic and understated. The only scent from the House of Escada I have ventures to.
Notclear why some think it should smell "manly." Should mens fragrence smell "manly?" Don't believe it.
Best suited for evening wear. A sublime date night frag. Keep away from the office! The night time is the right time here!
Oriental "light" is my tag. I would agree that this is not directed to the under 30 crowd. More like 35+.
While sillage is good, longevity could be better (review from the EDT).
Price is in line with reality. Elegant bottle.
Well done with out trying to hard (bottle/fragrence).
I received as Christmas' Gift a Escada Pour Homme and I got surprised with so great quality. It is different from the others that I know and possess, what makes it even more special.
It is elegant, sober, classic and powerful. I could only remember about another perfume: Chanel nº 5. They are not similar, I know, but the impression I had is that one is married the another.
Escada Pour Homme seems to me floral, but it has something in it that gave a refreshed sensation to my nose and I thought that was mint or something like this. So I was check and, surprinsigly, it has cognac. Magnificent!
It is floral, with geranium and carnation; it has patchouli and vanilla, making him oriental, but the cognac with the Italian lemon is what gives this result: TOO SPECIAL!
It's a shame that Escada has stopped its production of male scents. This is a true classic from the 1990s, and at least I could get hold of a remainder of stock.
The first impression is a very lemon-loaded one, but after a while the undertones emerge. This one goes on and on and lasts for hours. Perfect for relatively warm winter days.
Very classic. Elegant, masculine, for romantic or special evenings. Great aroma for its price.
I smelled Escada men and fell in love with it. I felt a little silly getting it for my husband cause it does smell, at first, like something an older man might wear..but I couldn't help it. I had to get it for him. It smells yummy, powerful, spicy, sexy and rich. I cannot get enough of it. It is definitely and evening or elegant scent. Not sure if others around him like it, but who cares. This one is for me to smell on him! Probably wouldn't wear this one to work but at night it is absolutely perfect!!!
I test it on paperstrips but it is too sweet and too oriental for me. i don't like it, cuase i smelled some honey-notes, but maybe i seemed to be honey
It's ok, masculin, but it's just 2 crusty... maybe 2 masculin and it's missing the sexy notes :D. I mean i like masculin fragrances... but this one i guess it's for the smokers or... dono... for older guys! I belive there r others fragrances masculin and mutch better then this one!
I bought it for myself. It doesn't really smell all that "masculine".
