Escentric 02 together with Molecule 02 represents the second completely synthetic fragrance pair, launched by Escentric Molecules. This time it was inspired by the basic scented component of grey amber, ambroxan. It is placen in the centre. The rest of the composition, just like in Escentric 01, is composed out of artful copies of the natural ingredients: a scent identical to the real musk - muscone, beautiful hedione (smells like jasmine), elderflower extract and orris. The fragrance is light with a shining and brisk opening (elderflower and hedoine) and a pleasantly warm finish. Read more about ambroxan here. The perfume was launched in 2008. The nose behind this fragrance is Geza Schoen.
WHY THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT BOTTLES OF THIS PARFUME ?ARE THEY THE SAME? THANK YOU.
So, here comes the "you don't sweat much for a fat girl" compliment: YOU DON'T SMELL MUCH FOR AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE PERFUME. This opens with a powerful blast of isopropyl alcohol, which depending on your age, will make you think about shots in doctors' offices or mimeographed tests in school. It then settles into a wispy sad musk with a possibility of pepper and a memory of something green. This may also be my brain desperately searching for meaning in this void. Why do I feel like this is an elaborate prank?
Sillage: angstroms
Durability: forever I suppose
Fabulosity: the emperor's new clothes
Price to value ratio: awful

Brief encounter.
It's early morning in Stockholm, just you and a couple of other commuters on the platform. A sudden awareness of a stirring at the ticket barrier, a group of 3 figures push through. The figure at the front resembling Julian Assange, a subtle almost imperceivable sense of excitement rushes through you as you connect for just a moment...
Fanciful eh?! I love the escentrics, some more than others. The molecules are way too subtle for me. 01 & 02 being favourite. The above description may make 02 seem cold but it's not that, it's modern and warm and the blend is genius.
I saw a line drawing by Degas I think it was called 'a nude' in the Walker gallery Liverpool, it affected me more than anything that day because something about its simplicity 3 or 4 lines at most, it allowed me to 'fill in the gaps' stunningly simple yet perfect.
Geza Schoen has caused a bit of a stir in the perfume world. I love it!
If I had to chose only 1 perfume to use for the rest of my like, it would be this one. Just PERFECT! Fresh, yet sensual and easy to wear.
This is a weird one!
After Molecule 02 I could only try this because there is no 01 in the shop. Still I think that's the only place where I can find these fragrances, absolutely unknown to most people.
I tried Escentric 02 and it smelled very weird to me. It's all about ambery note, very simple, nothing else and it's extremely light smelling to my nose. I think it works well with my chemistry, maybe with pretty all chemistries. Due to its subtlety I sprayed a good amount and went off into the city. I immediately noticed an old man behind me who passed by and stared at me with a curious attitude. I was in a good mood alltogether because I had a fine day. A girl behind me had the same behaviour of the old man.
I'm not sure the fragrance made any effect on me. I felt fine and more confident, but it could be due to other factors. After only a few minutes (very few) I could barely detect anything on my wrist and neck.
I went down in the crowded underground and only a few people looked at me, both men and women and almost smiled to me. This is veeeery strange, as normally nobody cares for anyone and not for me anyway.
Once at home I stressed my family saying: Smell this! How is it? What do you smell? Is it a smell or a stink?
My mother said it smelled like Anais Anais or another completely different scent she wears! I loathe both.
My father said it smelled very faint and a little bit like tobacco leaves! Tobacco leaves?!? I wonder what strange noses live in my family. He uses no perfume and basically hates pretty all, but fresh tobacco leaves must be a childhood smell for him. I totally dislike tobacco leaves. I would like to test it again and ask to other people around. Sometimes I'm such a teaser, but I'm basically curious!
Strong and chilly. A pleasant, peppery, woody scent, giving the overall impression of traditional masculine, non-citrus colognes.
As I catch a whiff now and then, I forget it is my own sillage and half expect to bump into a guy in a too-tight button-down shirt who likes my smile and wants to buy me drink.
Escentric Molecules fragrances are always such an interesting experience for me; they are definetly one of a kind perfumes and never fail to pique my curiousity.
Escentric 02 opens with a strange, almost woody aroma which quickly develops into a scent that i can only describe as 'celery-ish'. Just as quickly as I identify that however, a sense of cold sunshine develops; the description of this perfume says that it has a 'shining and brisk opening' which is completely true. To me, this brisk opening is reminiscent of the way you imagine morning sunshine on clean, untouched dunes of snow; the colour would be a soft smooth yellow.
Unfortunately for me, the odour of rubbing alcohol develops quite quickly and i lose the fragrance of 'cold sunshine'.
I would strongly recommend the curious try the Escentric perfumes, and try them with an open mind. They are very interesting.
