A new fragrance for summer is arriving from the house of Estee Lauder. This is limited edition Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche 2010, accompanied by fragrant body oil with the same intoxicating notes.
Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche is a warm, solar, floral fragrance with top notes which tingle with Sicilian bergamot and juicy mandarin. A heart blooms with an exotic blend of tiare milk and Tahitian gardenia, surrounded with coconut oil, with floral buds of orange blossom, jasmine, magnolia petals and myrrh accord. A base is delicate, comfortable and warm – composed of amber, sandalwood, vetiver, caramel and coconut cream. The fragrance is available as 100 ml EDT, while fragrant lotion which leaves a silky trace on the skin is available as 100 ml. Besides the fragrance collection and body care products, make up collection for summer was also presented (Exotic Coral Look, Exotic Orchid Look).

If there is tiare and coconut in any fragrance, its usually a sure thing for me. When I heard about Bronze Goddess, I was eager to try it. While I do like it, this is clearly the case "if it aren't broke, why fix it?". Why mess with Azuree Soleil? I remember trying the original Azuree Soleil and while I never bought it, it was definately a kind of scent that immediately brought to mind Tahitian beaches, bronzed women with flowers in their hair, palm leaves gently swaying in the wind-it was just beautiful, summer in the bottle.
When I finally got around to trying Bronze Goddess 2010, they just brought out the 2011 version and I kid you not, only had 1 bottle of 2010 left. BG2010 is much more citrusy than the original and what it reminds me of is suntan lotion(and Azuree Soleil didn't). I don't really get anything floral here, mostly its coconut with bergamot notes which in my opinion overpower everything else. I do smell a bit of myrrh which gives it a rather strange and exotic feel but that's just what my nose smells.
One thing it reminds me of is Hawaiian Tropic lotion-I have some of their sunscreen and After Sun lotion right now and it really smells very simular to this. As a matter of fact, that's how I layer it. Once on my skin, it doesn't smell like perfume but like you have been spending time at the beach. Since its Ear Frache, its very light and you can bath in it and it won't offend anyone. Lasting power is not bad-I get couple of hours layered with coconut lotion. Cheaper alternative is Coconut Lime Verbena from BBW(which they just discontinued, I believe). Its not the same but has the same suntan lotion vibe.
However, I also tried 2011 Bronze Goddess and citrus predominates that one. MUCH more citrus than 2010 one. Didn't care for it at all. Still wish they would have stuck with original version which has quite a following.
At first I smelled the coconut, which I love. But when I got it home, all I smelled was patchouli (yuck). So to the bottom of the drawer it went.....
I bought this because many of my favorite Fragranticans are raving about this one.
Well.....I have to tell you......this smells EXACTLY like I used to after working out, then tanning at Fabutan. I don't tan anymore (don't want cancer or a leather-handbag-face), but it was this VERY smell I remember. It was very noticeable when I would step into the shower and close the glass door. POW! How ya like me NOW? I don't.
This is what a 3 mile run, 1 hour of weights, and 20 minutes in a tanning bed before washing smells like.
Maybe add making 4 beds & vacuuming to the sweat smell....body chemistry strikes again I guess.....I have to say I LOVED it in the store. If you want it for cheap, email me....
Believe it or not, one of my favorite beachy scents is Kenzo Amour...see review if interested...
Needless to say, I am not a fan. I should be ringing out my workout clothes into bottles and selling them!
Sorry...I'm being gross.
Maybe guys would like it, as they often like that raunchy-after-active-sex-type smell, but I do not like it. I wear perfume for ME, and nobody else.
This does NOT make me feel sexy, or clean.
I don't know how everyone else feels; but I find this one very different. It doesn't smell like the beach with all the suntan lotion and all the people on the beach. To me it smells like the ocean, salt air, sand, the true shore smell. I like this one more than the others. It's great for this cold weather also, because it gives you an immediate vacation!
exactly same notes listed like
Azuree Soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent Estee Lauder
what's the difference please?
I got to try this today at the Estee Lauder counter at Macy's and I was in love at first sniff. I sprayed it on at 10:30 and it is now 6 hours later and I can still smell it. It smells like a day at the beach in a bottle. If you are not a fan of coconut/beachy type scents then this is not the perfume for you but if you do enjoy that "tropical day at the beach" type of scent then you should give this a try for sure. Love love love it!!!!!
Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche 2010, is essentially the same fragrance as the original Bronze Goddess, which was taken off the market some time ago.
This is not really a scent that I would personally wear. It reminds me of suntan lotion, soap and the beach, which isn't what I tend to enjoy in a fragrance. I detest fake tan and self-tanning agents, so I don't want to smell like it at all.
On the otherhand, I like that Estee Lauder has taken a risk with this fragrance. I agree with Aries1983, it's more for a younger crowd, not so mature like Estee Lauder fragrances often are.
It's very Summery, but not in a sense that it will keep you refreshed, instead it will just smell like Summer on you, like thick coconut and caramel scented suntan oil. Bronze Goddess smells synthetic, but I do believe this was the perfumer's aim.
Personally I think it's great for a vacation or a day at the beach, but I honestly don't think I could get away with wearing it on any other day. I also don't want to be rude, but I can't imagine anyone other than a tanned, blonde bimbo wearing this. A pale brunette just doesn't seem like the type to wear Bronze Goddess.
I just bought this today based on the great reviews, and all I can say is wow!!!!! it such a wonderful scent, I love the coconut and the gardinia. It smell a little bit like Harajuku Lover's "G" but more grown up, great for the summer but also to make you fell happy when it's cold outside
This is my second review. The first one was based on trying it in the store. I was recently gifted a bottle so I tried it again.
While it still has some remnants of the coconut lotion smell that is only initially then it turns into a beautiful fresh summer light floral scent with a touch of sweetness and finishes with the underlayment of the warm base that speaks of a warm sunny day at the beach.
I would definitely wear it more than a couple times a year. I'm really glad I gave this a second chance.
Oh wow. I love this. I love this. This smells like soapy skin, perhaps warmed by ocean breeze. It smells like salt and sand and water. It smells like humid flowers and coconut. It smells like a handful of almonds eaten on a beach blanket for a snack.
It's only an eau fraiche, but it has pretty good lasting power on me.
Very unique & wonderful.
I will second the reviews of suntan lotion. I bought this because of the very dominant coconut note in it! It's summer, so a gal like me feigns for coconut in fragrance. I have RL Hot, but it's too light and maple-y, while Harajuku Lover's "G" is too child-like. This engulfs the perfect coconut summer scent for me. Loads of coconut, salt, and tad hint of sandalwood does it really proper for me! The sillage is pretty good considering the lasting power is 4-5 hours on me.
Sometimes I find the top/mid notes of this a bit overpowering.... but if you wait about 3 hours, the drydown is great...
it eventually becomes really creamy, sexy and soft - a real 'skinscent' - that lingers for ages.... it seems to morph from daytime scent to night-time scent - with ease.
I love the way this smells. So summery, like others, it reminds me of suntan lotion. That being said, even though I enjoy the scent, I can't see wearing it regularly. A little in the summer and maybe once or twice in the winter to perk me up and remind me of summer.
I am in love with the summer and the sandy beaches of Greece. I can't wait for vacation, I can't wait to smell the sea and to enjoy its sound. I NEED a fragrance to capture all this, something to make me escape in the other months of the year. I need something that, when I close my eyes, for a second, will make me forget the cold, the noise, the agitation, and will sent me back to those golden beaches...
From what I am reading here, I think I am close in finding that fragrance. Believe me or not, I can imagine the smell, a mixture of sea, sun and endless summer...
Because in every fragrance I find a song, for this one will be..hmmm...the perfect song for it is Opa Opa by Despina Vandi;)
I have bought myself a bottle today coz I whas on the search for a soft coconut perfume. And I have found it. Fresh in the beginning and warm in the drydown. coconut and gardenia are well mixt. I dont like gardenia on its own.But here it smell great. Not overpowering so perfect to wear on a summer day
Update;
The lasting power is very poor. Whitin a few hours the smell is almost gone.So not what I expected from a Estee Lauder
i love this so much i could bathe in it! i wish i smelled like this 24/7, all year long!
this heavenly juice captures all sensations of the perfect lazy summer day at the beach: the salty sea breezes gently caressing your hair, the warm breath of sand, the sunrays warming your body&soul, the intoxicating scents of coconut sunscreens and vanilla ice cream mingling in the air. memories of carefree joy and pure happiness.
Salty, beachy gardenia... At last, something I can wear without headache! This is by far one of the most interesting things I've ever sniffed. Perfect for hot summer days and even for winter, if you like to cheer yourself up. Wonderful :)
This is one of those perfumes (or should I say skin scents) where if you apply the right amount it smells great - but overapply and it smells terrible....
although a lot of perfumes seem to have that 'tipping point' where theres a fine line between just enough and too much
This is definitely weaker than the last year's Bronze Goddess. It was more then a skinscent, almost a woodsy scent with beachy summer notes & great staying power. This year's version is still very similar to last year's but with less staying power.
This year's edition is unmistakably different. Less of everything. It's more like a body spritz now. A thinner scent, less complex and with much less staying power. I am so disappointed. Disappointed enough to knock two stars off.Oh well.
Not anything groundbreaking, but hey! It is comforting, uplifting and extremely pleasant .Could even be described as unpretentious sexy. It reminds me of how a sophisticated expensive sunscreen would smell.
When I tried it,I didn't care much about the initial coconut tones. But later, I got suprised when I discovered that the beautiful smell I had detected in a clothes shop was actually coming from my wrists. It had transformed to a wonderful coconutty, woody flowery smell.
The lasting power is not the best but on the other hand this is meant to be a "soft" skinscent. I love that kind of scents and I'm thinking about adding it in my collection. Beachy skinscents are really my thing :-)
Want to spend a day at the beach but you're cash-strapped or land-locked? Spray this on and it's nearly as good as being there! Wonderful warm scent, perfect for summer. I love it.
Citrus top notes give way to a soft, warm breeze scented with tropical flowers, coconut, bleached wood, sand, and salt water drying on skin. This perfume truly has everything that I love. A transporting scent that evokes a perfect summer day at the beach. Lovely.
This is wonderful! I never had the chance to smell the first Bronze Goddess but this smells just perfect. The inital spray is pure beach. It's the most perfect beach smell I have had a chance to smell (and there have been many) This is heavenly in the beginning. The one thing I'm not crazy about is that the drydown is pure gardenia. I like gardenia but at that point it loses all it's beachiness :( but this is still great.
I just got this today and I am in love! Finally Estee Lauder made a perfume that doesn't smell like my granny. This is the perfect summer fragrance. I can't wait for the warm weather to arrive so that I can really enjoy this. I can't believe it took me so long to discover Bronze goddess but I am so glad I did. I was going to save this as a mother's day gift for myself since my son is too little to buy me a gift but I don't think I can hold onto it that long without using it so I'm just going to have to find something else.
