Wood Mystique is the first unisex fragrance by Estee Lauder, which is made specifically for the Middle East consumer.
Press Release: "Estée Lauder Wood Mystique begins with brilliance as Rose Distilled and Peony petals wrap the dazzling spiciness of Pink Pepper. (..) Precious Rose de Mai Absolute, sourced from Grasse and extremely costly, blooms throughout the heart with exceptional clarity. A Rose Infusion imparts the earthy, primal elements of this “Queen of Flowers”. Egyptian Jasmine Absolute adds luxurious sensuality and is blended with Mimosa Provence Absolute, Orris Morocco and Ylang for softness and passionate warmth.
An elaborate background slowly, languorously unfolds, revealing an exceptional, long-lasting richness. Patchouli and Leather essences indulge in the lush and intricate creaminess of Indonesian Benzoin, Cedarwood SFE -- a new ultra rich, ultra smooth cedar extraction being used here for the first time in perfumery -- and a hint of Raspberry for an impression of dramatic mystery and richness. The extremely precious and rare Agar Wood, distilled from the heartwood of the Aquillaria tree, brings a wildly compelling, deep balsamic woodiness, known to engage the senses, the mind, the body and the spirit." Wood Mystique was launched in 2011.

Please DM me if you know where I can get a sample of this perfume, thanks :-))
This reminds me of tom ford somehow-it is private blend-ish.i found it to be rich sexy, intoxicating. I love white florals and this is what i think it is. Strong and heady it has excellent longevity and silage. Excellently crafted. my only complaint would be the cheap looking bottle and the terrible cap on top of it.Very well done. :)
A very cheap smelling aldehyde fragrance, I agree with all the negative reviews, I do not smell any of the exotic notes listed , its a cheap aldehyde mess.
Amaizing! This one is a masterpiece! I smell woods, deep roses and raspberry on a leather base... Very sexy and sensual. I would say this frag is unisex, but also very feminine. This perfume is dark and deep and lasts forever! Great silage also... A MUST HAVE!!!
I cannot agree with the harsh reviews of this fragrance! I snapped it up in a millisecond after finding it in Dubai duty free a week ago and can truly only say BRAVO Lauder. Yes, it's a lighter Oud, but beautifully composed with a shimmering rose. The other notes are merely bit players, with the leather lending a lovely "solid" feel to the entire composition. I don't get very much raspberry, but I'm sure it's in there. The longevity and sillage are excellent and I got a good 7 hours out of it in VERY hot and humid weather. My shirt still smelled fantastic the morning after :o). Definitely unisex IMO, but then I don't ascribe gender to fragrances anyway. Highly recommended if you can get your hands on it! The only flaw in this entire production is that it is exclusive to the Middle East? Why? There are millions of Oud fragrances there already!!
I loved it!!! I live in the Middle East now and have many 'local' perfumes. Yes, the Oud scent is lighter, but it is still a great perfume. It smells wonderful, like a light version of an Arabic perfume. They should sell it in the US. Men and women...yes....it reminds me of other unisex perfumes I have smelled here.
Way too feminine to me..
Also a bit disappointing, all in all it's a nice scent but not extraordinarily good.
just tried this one today, HUGE disappointment! where's the wood and the arabian spirit? isn't that the concept of it?? smelled ordinary nothing special i don't recommend it at all!
I just tried this one tonight.. While my own personal critique isn't as harsh as AVATAR'S, I whole-heartedly agree. Upon testing, the very first thing I wondered was, "WHERE'S THE OUD?!?!?" Bond No.9's signature EDP has more oud than this!!! The raspberry didn't help, either. It's flat on the skin, turning quite feminine in the dry-down. This didn't deserve to be marketed as a unisex fragrance. It sat ON my skin and developed on its own while my skin just rejected it. But this isn't the worst part of this fragrance.
Had this been marketed to a young WESTERN demographic (aka teenage girls) with a more playful theme, I wouldn't be so upset. But when something is exclusively presented to the Middle East in a gold/black package, you expect it to pay homage to the traditions of Arabian perfumery while putting a Western twist to it. This was a MAJOR failure in that regard. In the end, this smells like EL tried to make a rendition of Bond No.9's signature EDP and Bryant Park combined. They screwed this one up - BIGTIME. I wish Bond No.9 could file a lawsuit..
Estee Lauder needs to drop the gold/black packaging, change the name to something bright and playful then market this exclusively to teenage girls.
There should be a restriction on which perfume houses can use oud. I can vouch for Montale, Amouage, M.Micallef, L'Artisan Parfumeur, Jesus del Pozo, Bond No.9 and probably By Kilian. The rest of the Western perfume world should just STOP it!!
I'm a Middle Eastern person by berth, and for all of my life I've been around Oriental fragrances i.e. (Oud, Sandalwood, Amber, Incenses, Spices...etc). But this fragrance for my nose is just a flowery spice perfume! And very unpleasant "cheep" one for that matter!!
this one is definitely not a unisex perfume, the mid notes stand out which is very floral - rose, jasmine, ylang ylang, the latter being abundant in our country, the Philippines.. the scent is not new, i have smelled it before and my mom used to wear this kind of scent, i just can't remember exactly what it is but it's an old women's perfume..
here in saudi arabia, men usually use women's perfume coz, according to perfume shop owner which i went to, they smell good and i understand why this perfume caters both sexes..
as for the price, well, it's about SAR700, approx. $180-200..
for couples who share the same perfume, i guess you could give this a shot but for me it's a no no, sorry..
This is a strong long lasting perfume . it is oriental , in my opinion its not unisex , definitely not what you would expect a man would wear . i still haven't decided if i like it or not after all i just sniffed it at the store .
How can they call it Woody Mystique with so few woodsy notes in its composition?
Is this a longlasting sillage monster??!! If it is, I will certainly buy it for me...it sounds so greatttt.
yesterday i have sniff what come in my mind tom ford black orchid maby im wrong
