Oh boy this is definitely not a floral fruity, for me it's floral green or just green. On my skin I get loads of gourmandy tea and citrus, followed by marvelous green and a bit bitter fig leaf. It's definitely not fruity and is a different than other figue scents I've tried.
I actually enjoy it, mostly fruity figue perfumes smells like a bubble gum to me, this case is different, lovely.
Fig fragrances run the gamut from dry and dusty all the way to fruity gourmand, and Esteban FOLIE DE FIGUE holds the distinction of being the greenest fig-focused perfume that I've sniffed since beginning my investigations into this note some months ago.
FOLIE DE FIGUE opens not just green, but bitter green, thanks to a zap of citrus that really has a cold slap-in-the-face wake-up effect. The wood of both fig and cedar becomes quite noticeable as the citrus dissipates, and the drydown still seems slightly green, but mostly woody. In my experience, Esteban perfumes generally have good staying power, and FOLIE DE FIGUE is no exception to the rule.
In response to adriana_87, I do think that calling FOLIE DE FIGUE a floral fruity is a bit misleading, as I smell no fruit at all and lots of green! Neither fruity nor flowery, this composition strikes me as entirely unisex and even slightly more masculine than feminine. I like this creation very much, but if you are looking for gooey fruity fig, this is not it!
I really like the tart citrus opening. I find the fragrance reads cool, verses warm. It's not spicy, nor long lasting. I think the opening is the most successful part of the fragrance. The middle is a bit sweeter but I don't ever really get any fruit nor cedar.
It is difficult to answer your question.
I do not find it sweet, but not green...
It's actually a bit 'green and a little' sweet but very little of both.
Meanwhile it is very very light and very tough.
I like very much perfumes to the fig tree, but I like that little or nothing.
The scent stays close to the skin.
At first it smell ... liquor!
Exactly black liquor digestive.
Perhaps it is the fault of the bay.
Then he feels vaguely cool fig.
Not the fresh fig and mature.
Neither the dry and sweet fig.
Not the leaves or milk of fig.
But the smell of a fig tree a little bit 'fermented.
The good part of this fragrance are notes of basic: cedar and fig tree, warm and sweet, very good! but so light that you need to stick your nose to the skin to feel them.
Not worth its price.
Is not the scent for me.
Is this a green fig scent or a sweeter fig?If anyone knows?
