A smooth, complex and bright oriental with a slight touch of something cool that reminds me of men's cologne. Looking at the notes, I have no idea what that might be. Has anyone else felt this? I skimmed through all the reviews hoping to find a mention of this coolness, but apparently I am the only one?

And as others have mentioned, fantastic sillage and lasting power.

What a great fragrance! I think it's a darker, more powdery version of Hypnotic poison: I can smell the heliotrope, the incense and the cinnamon notes. I can also notice the patchouli, that I usually don't like, but here it's sweetened by the powdery note, and it's pleasant. For me, this is winter in a bottle!

Nice and good. I get rose, vanilla, iris. Worth the money. French. Usually. Not special.

Grain de Soleil is a truly luscious fragrance. I'm finding myself falling in love with it, and being surprised in having never discovered this fragrance up until now.

It's mostly floral with hints of powder and spices. I find it very heavy on the orris root, orange blossom and jasmine. It settles on the skin very warmly, making it the perfect fragrance for those chilly days.

I was surprised that Grain de Soleil is so sweet. The cinnamon and vanilla accords really shine out, providing a slight gourmand feel. Every component of this composition works well, so much so that it's obvious that this fragrance has been composed with quality in mind.

The sillage is just about right, being not too strong nor too weak. The scent itself soothes me and entices me in a way that is hard to describe. Grain de Soleil is somewhere between an oriental floral and a spicy gourmand. It really is a treasure.

Grain de Soleil is right up there with the likes of Billet Doux by the same house. They are both very classy, long lasting and feminine fragrances with that touch of golden elegance. I recommend.

Why o why must I fall in lust yet again with something I can't have...

I think I must be getting better at picking out notes that work well for me because this is the 3rd fume this week that I've tested and have fallen for. Anyhow... I adore the rose and cinnamon fusion in this. I am satisfied with its creamy amber luxery throughout too. Could be worn as an everyday or reserved for date nights. It's versatile yet doesn't bore you numb. This is intriguing... an addictive wrist sniffer. Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner.

Warm, soft, spicy cinnamon with soulwarming vanilla ,amber and woody undertone. On me this scent is absolutely gentle with rich depht in it.The incence and the patchouli gives a medicin-like bitter taste in the end. Pleasant, cosy fragrance, perfect for cold winter days.

Opens with a burst of cinnamon and heady floral, then dries down with vanilla, followed by amber and sandalwood. As it settles into the skin, I get a honey note, with a hint of orris; and the florals recur, warmer and more rounded, over a layer of incense. This is a very nice perfume indeed...in fact it's delicious. Like curling up in a golden velvet robe on a leather chaise by a fire, with a glass of mead in hand. Could easily become one of my daily perfumes---It's that comforting and yet interesting, never insipid.

I really love this perfume. Its sweet, soft and warm.
On my skin it opens soft and sweet with the orris and orange flower. I can also smell the cinnamon at the back ground. When the perfume settels the heliotrope and vanilla are there. It gives the scent a slightly powdery feeling wich I love. Turns into a warm, sweet and soft woodsy scent that lingers on skin very long. Would love to have a bottle

Un parfum très original (Fragonard est décidément une petite marque française à découvrir)vanille-cannelle, un brin encaustique. Une odeur qui enveloppe et réchauffe!

it made my eyes becoming wet like an overdose of hairspray at first, but yes it's quite nice once it seddles down, the sandalwood and amber are strooong, yet powdery, woody and spicy, the orris makes it very earthy and mysterious, some hints of vanilla barely detectable...

this frag has no sweet, what's quite unusual. i don t know yet if i like it or not, it's kinda very mature, not oldfashioned but a bit harsh and dry, earthy and spicy.

i was expecting really something else by the notes... hmmm i can t distingue different stages on this perfume, it's almost linear but very complex and well blendet.
it becomes better and better with the time and the slightly sweet vanilla lingers trough the earty-woody notes. maybe this should be applied with ligher hand than i did to enjoy it from top to bottom.

sillage enormeous, staying power enormeous.

it's for shure a very good quality perfume, but maybe not daring enough for me.

bottle lovely, a stunning collector object!

add.note: i m using it today the second time and i did apply it today by dusting it overall my body and hair.... it's fantastic! the scent is really strong, so a little goes far and it can easely be oversprayed, what can induce headache or sneez-attack (hairspray-effect). handeled with light hand it's a very very nice scent! love it.

As i review grain de soleil, it is a cold, snowy day, and im cozied up with a big sweater, and some hot tea. I have to say, i definitely found another "sunshine in a bottle!" This fragrance immediately warmed me entirely. I am sitting surronded by a golden aura of sweet amber, vanilla, and soft (very delicately)powdery heliotrope, which is a summer favorite of mine. A jasmine, honey, cinnamon trio has seemed to settle in for the long haul, and rather than getting individual notes, i am enveloped in a warm, golden glow. I feel as though i have a soft feminine, aura of summery joy floating about me, and i cannot express my delight in the feeling this fragrance has evoked for me. I feel very sexy, and edible! Normally anything with even a hint of powder is dead to me immediately, but this lives on.. And i continue to love it! The dry down reminds me a little of hypnotic poison, that being said, it has become necessary to get my hands on a bottle of both of them! I cannot wait to spritz this on when we take vacatin this spring! Grain de soleil and mountain sunshine may just overload my joy sensors!

Update: this beauty has MONSTER sillage. Soft sweetness greeted me the next morning, and lingered on my sweater for days. Verdict: well worth a purchasing a big bottle!

This scent is rich and complex. It reminds me of Miss Me by Stella Cadente (which has been discontinued). That's why I didn't buy a bottle, because I have something too similar.

I can definitely smell cinnamon, incense, vanilla, and some other exquisite florals. I think this scent conveys mystery and allure. It's for a unique and sophisticated woman.

I have but a wee sample of this and it's not very jasmine-like to me, there's maybe a hint of it with another floral, but I mainly get the cinnamon, amber and vanilla. But also, strangely, there is something in it that slightly, very, very, slightly, reminds me of People of the Labyrinths - Luctor et Emergo. They're very different fragrances, but there's just something I can't explain. I know it sounds strange, because the image I have with POTL is of wandering through an antique shop in midst of winter or the damp undergrowth of Mirkwood with a basket of dried cherries. POTL is definitely deeper and darker, but with Grain de Soliel, it's like I was in the deep dark woods and just wandered out into the warm sunshine (sans cherry basket =:)
