I had this one back in the 90's and it was okay but not one of my favorites ... a bit strong for me. I do like Gail Hayman's Delicious line though, some of those are nice.
I never was tempted to go blindly for it....there is something about the bottle and the name that is completely offputting to me. But as i am no stranger to inexpensive fragrances (you never know what gem you may stumble upon), when I saw it hanging out on a shelf at Marshalls I decided to give it a spritz.
Ugh, what a synthetic concotion! It reminded me a bit of Le Chic By Molyneux, but with none of the complexity and elegance of Le Chic. I'm not sure it is due to the cheap ingeredients or what but it had a similar theme that is present in a lot of Elizabeth Taylor perfumes....feels like it's chock-full of chemicals.
Later, I was grocery shopping and was actually embarrassed by the whiffs of it wafting around me....to my nose there is nothing attractive about this fragrance. Can't see myself wearing it for sure. But it does stick with you for a while and has a pretty loud-mouthed sillage.
This is thick syrupy lush floral perfume. It opens strong just like most of the perfume from this time period. I sprayed this on my hand and it was kind of strong but nothing obnoxious or overpowering but you need to get past the top notes to really appreciate this perfume. I cannot make out any individual notes when I first spray it its thick and a bit boozy. As it begins to dry tuberose and gardenia make their appearance peach is also prominent here. After sniffing for a while I could not help but to see some similarities to Michael by Michael Kors and also some of the notes reminded me of the notes in Fracas. This perfume is more fruity than MK and the gardenia is not as loud and crisp as in MK. I think this perfume is best suited for night time. Will like to experiment some more and give you more details about the drydown.
This was one of my favorites from a long time ago. I have a mini 273 in my shadowbox and I for some reason grabbed it today and put it on. It spicy and fruity and warm just perfect! 273 does remind me a bit of Tresor but without Tresor's sparkling notes. I think I am going to put my mini back on the shelf and get a full size! It is that good!
I bought this, but, ultimately, I felt it didn't suit me. So I gave it to my teenage daughter and it smells wonderful on her. It smells sharp and exciting and a bit off-beat.
Ylang Ylang with apricot, covered with gardenias.....sprinkled with amber and spices.....on me it is sweet and dry and has a slight chinese market smell.
I have the feeling that it is too agressive for a sitting person :)
This fragrance seems to be set free when I step outside, sweet spices soar with the wind and the chinese market note disappears.... while inside it tends to become suffocating.
It's joyful and dynamic, a very inspiring and provocative fragrance.
Indoors it smells like clean cotton and reminds me of an ambitious lady in suit and clean make-up with long hair, very high heels and in constant motion.
Outdoors it smells very wild and reminds me of young people running on the windy ocean-side with salt-dried, sun-bleached hair and sand-matted tanned skin.
Oh it is the women's Fred Hyman 273 only. Not the others in the 273 line. I tried them all.
This is the best fragrance in the world. This is the reason I can't find another one I like. Except Paul Sabastian's Design which is very different from 273. YES BUY IT! If you don't care for it, the first person you ask probably will want it. It stays with me all day, and doesn't sour. At night, after a shower, I rub my fingers in my hair just to get a smell. My husband agrees that this is superior to all on me.
What a beautiful fragrance! The peach / plum and spicy base notes are a great combination. Very creamy, not a dry fragrance (like opium) - if that makes sense. I recommend it if you like maybe samsara amirage or loulou. Its one of those powerful 80's/90's scents that fill up the room. But it is not dated. I'd smelt it on many people over the years and finally found what the fragrance was. Its sexy but still business like, a sexy alpha female type fragrance. I highly recommend this.
My wife owns this one. Kind of strong, peach note very noticeable. Good for professional attire/ business women. I like it.
Does anybody own this one? Can you add a review, because the notes sound really good..
