Royal Secret for Men by Germaine Monteil is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men. Royal Secret for Men was launched in 1999. The fragrance features sandalwood, amber, jasmine, citruses and rose.
Fabulous! The sandalwood is so gentle, complementing the other notes perfectly (it's almost like a combination of incensy sandalwood and soft leather/suede). Overall, this is very subtle, so if you want a strong amber fragrance (as in Ambre Sultan), you can forget about this one. Considering the prices on this one right now, however, you can buy a dozen 50 ml bottles of it for less than the price of many 50 ml niche ones! If you like fragrances such as Prada Infusion d'Homme, but want something a bit more powdery/floral/ambery, rather than "clean," this is one to consider (why not just buy a bottle at current prices?). Some might think this a bit "soapy," though, depending upon what soaps they are familiar with (due to the slightly powdery floral quality). For me, the fougere accord is "soapy," along with spicy florals (as in JHL), not what you find in this one. No one note dominates here, but you can detect them. It's not very sweet, like so many recent men's fragrances, and it does have a slight "play-doh" quality, but that is gone in 2-3 hours. Longevity is very good and projection ("sillage") is moderate with one spray to the chest. In the future, I will try to get a little on my shirt to see if that's better. Give it some time to allow the amber to warm up and bring out the other notes.
This smells like something an old lady would wear. Smells just like really cheap powder. I can't believe they call it a mens fragrance
A very good rose scent, complemented with sandalwood and amber, very nice. A little powdery, probobly the iris.
How on earth did they think they could make a good rose scent and get away with it, when the ones that sell are generic crap. All IMHO of course.
This is a good example hw u can waste ur money.. This is absolute crap.. plz dnt go for it. there r much much better options available.
This smells more to me a straight up Oriental fragrance. Powdery, warm, and sweet. It starts off smelling smoky and warm, like dark caramelized maple syrup with amber. Rose, coriander, and musky notes underline the fragrance, drying down to traces of sandalwood. Very notable fragrance that is economic but done well in the classic style of perfumery.
