Givenchy Harvest 2007 Very Irresistible Damascena Rose Givenchy for women

If you like rose, patchouli, and suede, as I do, you also know how wrong that combination can go. Fortunately, I get the best of all worlds with this perfume. A wonderful rose: deep, damask as described, a very ripe rose, smelling sun-ripened. Patchouli appears early, with the heart notes, becoming creamy on drydown. Sweet, but not too sweet, thanks to the leather/suede note. The suede is prominent, very creamy and dry, a soft leather note.

The rose progresses from a full, ripe, blowsy damask rose, to the smell you might get at dusk, walking through a garden, brushing against a damask rose bush. Towards the end, both the rose and the patchouli have softened and become creamy. Not a straight up rose soliflore, but rose is prominent. I am reminded of Coco Noir, if they made a Coco Noir Rose. Lovely.

Chapeau Clack has nicely summed up my experience with this perfume as well. This is a rose version of Hermes Kelly Caleche to me. More a suede scent than a rose, where i was hoping rose to be the star player. Perhaps it is chemistry in this experience. Harvest 2007 starts with a big, velvety, red rose, full & lush like Oaklahoma, but that sweet, soft, green fresh blossom disappears when she is plucked apart by some unseen hand wearing white leather gloves, and a floral patchouli perfume.. very interesting. Much more than i was expecting. This is a rose suede perfume, not a rose soliflore. In that regard, it is a success. It has good longevity, and a polite projection. This is discreet, and not in your face. I think perhaps a god rose perfume for Kelly Caleche, or COCO Mademoiselle lovers. im going to take the time go get to know this fragrance better. The box & bottle are beautiful as well.

It starts with a very life-like rose, almost vegetal, which however quickly morphs into creamy and nearly candy-like. On me suede is prominent right away, with just a tad of patchouli to give it more texture. This must be a chemistry thing, my skin does it to all leather notes. At this point I find myself sniffing at my wrist for more of this gorgeous sensual suede rose. The closer to drydown though, the sweeter and creamier it gets, finally arriving at a barely-there skin scent, reminiscent more of some expensive body lotion than perfume actually.

I'll have yet to try it on fabric, but for the time being it's in the like category, a bit too smooth to make it into my permanent rotation.

Just as I thought, on fabric it loses some of its creaminess and turns into a wonderfully fresh pure rose scent. Great for those occasions when anything that screams PERFUME would be undesirable, a discrete happy and reassuring scent.

This is an incredibly sweet and strong rose- too strong for me! whatever is in the base just intensifies it but at the same time it's a really great soliflore.

I tried it yesterday. The rose is just magnificent here and I am not easy to be impressed by it. It is exactly the type of rose I like: a sweet and happy one. To be understood I would say that Angel Rose is full of joy and optimistic energy for me, Paul Smith Rose is a sad one (but more authentic).

The Damascena Rose here is a true charmer but still a classic of the genre. The scent radiates youthful zest and lofty aspiration. It personifies a triumph of beauty and sheer delight. A hedonistic girly scent.
