After fragrance for women Guess by Marciano presented in 2007, edition for men Guess by Marciano for Men arrives on the market. This modern and authentic fragrance aims at modern men. It arrives in a glass flacon with brown-bronze shine and a golden board with name of the perfume and stopper in the same nuances.
Guess by Marciano for Men is composed of accentuated aromas of ginger-mandarin, ice tonic accords which introduce a fresh wave, while a base encompasses a spicy note of black pepper. It is available as 50 and 100ml (1.0 and 1.7 oz) EDT. The fragrance is accompanied with body and hair bath in amount of 150 ml, as well as 71 gr. alcohol-free deodorant. Guess by Marciano for Men was launched in 2009.
I bought a bottle of Guess by Marciano recently and wore it today. Here are my thoughts:
Spray is fairly strongly "perfumey" with a significant warm/spice aspect (cinnamon?). As it fades, perfumey/floral/fruit notes remain, slight wood and musk notes appear, and just a whiff of spice remains. Scent fades fairly dramatically after about an hour.
Not horrible or offensive, but not my favorite--too perfumey and a little too sweet for my tastes.
5/10
(This is my first review here! I'm enjoying this site and it's great to join in the community.)
This goes down the same path as Boss Bottled/#6 and it's "low rent" cousin, Adidas Victory League. I found the Boss to be a bit too simple and vanilla-oriented, and AVL to be too "synthetic." This one seems to have gotten the idea right, not that it's a particularly great idea. However, with a bit more spice and a bit less sweetness, this might be a fragrance I'd praise highly. It's reasonably "natural" smelling, and while it's a bit on the sweet side, it may not be too sweet for me (I'll have to wear it at least one more time). Generally, I would prefer a fragrance like Havana over this one, because Havana has the spice, but is also more complex, with tobacco and other notes I enjoy, without the sweetness.

Guess comes under the category of sweet oriental fragrance, the aroma is quiet synthetic and somehow it didn't charm me. Easily forgettable, nothing more to say about it. It is for the younger age group, i think it doesn't have a class.
5 out of 10.
Guess for Men smells like your classic amber/vanillic powdery maculine, complete with touches of orange citrus off the top notes. Considering the price and availability of Guess at discount retailers like Marshalls and TJ Maxx, you could do a lot worse. However, the composition is so staid and "safe" that I'm inclined to think twice about dropping even as little as $15 on a bottle. Guess by Marciano is an updated barbershop fougere, but IMO it's not really updated enough to justify the premium on this example of the genre. It fails to top much cheaper products, like Pinaud's Clubman afershave lotion, which is more dynamic with rose and oakmoss. Clubman is stronger, too. Guess is gone after an hour. The bottom line: try it and see. It's not bad. But I'd give Clubman a whirl first, and then compare the two.
Wow this is a lovely scent
Love the sweet orange
Took a risk and bought it blind after reading some of the reviews here - so glad I did
Very sexy :)
True, very similar to D&G The one, but much weaker and this is more for everyday use. This one was released long before so thumbs up for it. I liked the gold and bronze idea since while I was walking I smelled it on my wrist and thought... this has the smell of a coin! How random, isn't it? It's sweet and friendly but has a very very very low projection. Still very nice for its price.
Last but not least, it's powerful and charming warm spicy modern perfume that definitely deserves its price.
Something between A*man and Hypnose, and a little bit more sugary and creamy but so pure and clean.
wonderful
unique and so sweet
What I got from this is BOSS BOTTLED. It's too close to the aforementioned for me to purchase it.
I like it.
Spicy, oriental and a lil sweet.
Good for office and weekends.
This is an excellent cologne. It smells like orange liqueur, subtle spices, light pepper, sweetness, creamy vanilla and amber. Masculine but soft and alluring. Longevity and projection are superb. Works best for colder weather, and evenings. If you like the Oriental/Spicy category, you'll love this.
Perfect day and night fragrance, really love it
I just bought Guess by Marciano and I really enjoy it. There's something about this cologne that makes me want to constantly take a whiff of it on myself. I see it as a cologne that anyone could appreciate being around. I bought this as a blind buy based on reviews from numerous sites. I see it working best as an evening or fall/winter scent. Mature but not "old man-ish" in any way. Warm and inviting.
ÇOK HARİKA TAVSSİYE EDİYORUM
This juice is perfect for the winter yet to come. It has something from Nina Ricci Memoire d'Homme, Baldessarini Ambre and D&G The One. 'VanAllan' pointed out very well:"bronze and gold together", like sipping a spicy old french dark-orange liqueur.
The colour of the bottle and the overall feeling of fragrance fits very well that description.
p.s. I have also H.Boss Selection and it has nothing to do with this (besides the fact that both are somehow sweet).
Wow, look at all the crazy comparisons. If I we're going to compare this to anything, it would be Boss Selection for sure. Get familiar with the two and you'll see what I'm saying. Definitely a Fall/Winter scent, but sometimes... you just can't help put it on if you happen to lay eyes on it regardless of season. Spicy, and straightforward. Charismatic and unique. It's rare that the male and female scents actually relate. Angel and A*Men have a strong relationship, as do the Marcianos.
It smells like bronze and gold together, very fresh-spicy at first (mandarin-ginger-pepper), then it pretty stays like this, after 3 hrs it still smells oriental-spicy (like a fresh-cinnamon & pepper combo), interesting enough, I also detect here some smoky lavender & sweet pepper, it reminds me of an african desert, maybe just a bit similar to D&G The One, but different enough to deserve a trying (medium sillage, average longevity). Remain on skin after 6-8 hrs peppery, oriental, sweet. My rank 7.8/10
Yet another delicious sweet scent.
It is not similar to DG the one and i dont know how Rocawear is.
I like it and ll add 2 my collection soon.
I can't remember if this smells like Rocawear OR Dolce and Gabbana The One for Men, but it does smell like one of the two. If It's Rocawear this fragrance mimics I'll just get this one because I like the bottle a LOT better! I just hope I can get this for cheap!
