Halston Z by Halston is a Chypre fragrance for men. Halston Z was launched in 1998. Top notes are cypress, gardenia, basil, bergamot and lemon; middle notes are coriander, patchouli, cinnamon, jasmine, vetiver, cedar and geranium; base notes are leather, tonka bean, amber, musk, benzoin and oakmoss.

It's kind of a fresh chiper. It's got a very masculine kind of edge to it. You know and it's a very rugged feel.

I picked this up as it was cheap and I'm a fan of Halston.
It opens with tropical fruit, wet and delicious. This quickly becomes aromatic and aldyhedic in the vein of Chrome or Escape. After that it settles to a fresh chypre woody scent and disappears in a matter of hours.
Due to it's staying power and sillage I would not recommend this one. I feel Unbound is a better choice for freshness and longevity although it is less complex.

i love this stuff its so rugged and masculine and it may smell like everything else when it comes out of the bottle but it quickly has a unique vintage chypre feel to it that makes it more unique
definately a HOT buy

Coriander
This is a crispy/aromatic/aquatic chypre, more for a young man.
The more proeminent notes are cypress, lemon, vetiver, cedar, geranium, musk and oakmoss.
The longevity between to 3 at 5 hour, acording with the temperature.
If you like Hugo Boss´s Hugo Spray, this frag is a good option.
