Top Notes
Very fresh, very green/yellow and herbal at first. After 2 minutes, reminded me of a bathroom freshener then immediately settled into a sour mess, leaving me with notes of vinegar mixed with cheap lily-of-the valley. Saved £59 on the spot!
Yellow pollen and dusty, bitter green leaves. It smells amazingly like hedge flowers in the sun. Didn't last long on my skin, though. Very Sheer.
I usually abhor green scents, but this one really simmers on my skin - not too biting, acidic, or headache-inducing. However, it is VERY tenacious, a light spray will suffice for hours of wear and if you over-apply the synthetics will peel the inside of your nose like a pear. I can't imagine this working outside of the spring and summer months as there are no discernible warm notes for cold/dry air. I do like the lily-of-the-valley and rose notes - they smell modern to me, i.e., no hint of a convalescent home.
Applied judiciously, it imparts a feeling of lightness and vitality that I am enjoying outside my usual realm of woodsy orientals or velvety-florals.
Sorry lovely ladies before me, but, I have to disagree. I don't like this one, not one bit. At first opening I was happy and I thought-"Oh great-there's that floral note combo here that I really like." It's so natural". And..."It's familiar, yet unusual!" Then..after that..a downward spiral. It quickly became heavy, synthetic in about 30 minutes, and all mashed together after about 2 hours. At this ugly 2 hour mark- I can now identify the lemon verbena-wich is sadly coming through as a picnic citronella candle being used as insect repellent. The lilly of the valley is choking, the jasmine is trampled on, and the musk is no where to be found - it could help out here and soften things up a bit but that's just not happening.
What an unusual fragrance! And how lucky I am to find a generous swapper willing to share some with me :D
Green, somewhat herbacious, but not as biting as many fragrances that make use of lemon verbena. There is a citrus current without citrus domination, and a fresh bittersweet blossom-perhaps I have smelled privet blooms before, but not that I'm aware of-this definitely smells familiar. Privet Bloom is perfectly natural-smelling, and well-balanced-and smells rather feminine on my skin-but it seems like a good unisex fragrance anyway. Good for any occasion, for people who can connect on some level with nature.
I love privet bloom scent, it always catches my attention in late spring.I was dying to try this perfume, and finally I did! It is a pretty close replica of a privet bloom cluster - warm, fresh, honey-like but green scent.
It starts with a note of a broken green twig, and some lily of the valley, but very soon it blooms into a gorgeous flowery aroma. It is simple and feminine and is true to it`s name. It was like returning back to my childhood and a privet hedge around the park!!!!!
The smell of warm sunshine in a bottle! Just got this one and really like it. At first spray the scent is all green grass and lemon, but the drydown is beautiful! You really do smell like warm sunshine-like sitting on the grass on a hot summer day. If you like sweet, flowery, girly-girl perfumes Privet Bloom is not for you. But if you like that warm summer scent-even in the middle of winter-Privet Bloom may be just what you're looking for.
