The creator's first perfume, Hugo Woman, had an enormous success. Now the brand presents Boss Woman, a floral and fruity perfume to go with a new women's fashion collection (of sophisticated sportswear), specially designed for today's active woman. The opening scent of this trendy perfume is a blend of fruity notes (tangerine and mango) and kumquat. At its heart, freesia, orris, passiflore, while the base is warm from the blend sandal and cedarwood. Boss Woman was launched in 2000. The nose behind this fragrance is Sophie Labbe.

Very clean, slightly powdery perfume just perfect for an office environment. So well blended. Nothing harsh or instigating. I feel its almost calming for the wearer and everyone around them. Its a classic and a must have!
This is a must-have perfume for every woman. Perfect for hot summer days. The smell is very light, uplifling, fresh and clean but still keeps its sweetnes. "Woman" is very well balanced fragrance and as I said, every girl and woman should have it or at least try it. You will not regret and maybe you will fall in love the same way I did.
GREETINGS FROM THE CZECH REPUBLIC! :)
I found Boss Woman very boring. It is fresh, but more minty than I would like it to be. Somehow it smells a bit like toothpaste on me.
Skin type: oily / youthful
Projection: arm's length
Longevity: 6hrs+
Office safe: yes very
Timing: day time spring / summer
Price: $39 for 50 ml 1.7 oz at Winners / TJ Maxx
Packaging: 6/10 a the bottle is a bit plain
Disclamer: my experience may be different from your experience based on my skin type, my chemistry, the season, and my personal tastes
I got this recently and I'm TOTALLY in love with it. It's so balanced as a smell, bearable to wear it, soft and mild yet it shows your personality and strongness. Perfect for office wear and it could be sexy and intoxicating to wear at night too.
Ive had this fragrance since I was 14.. Now I'm 17 and I still wear it and it might as well be my signature scent. This smells mature. To me it doesnt smell like the generic fruity florals, it has PERSONALITY. It oozes confidence. It smells clean and fresh, and I love it for any occasion! It also smells a bit masculine but its alright for me since I believe that makes it more profound. The bottle is alright, sillage is pretty good and longevity is awesome. I love it!
Perfect for office wear
It was my favourite scent, too bad I can not find it anymore. This perfume is so unique, and sophisticated, remind me of woman with strong personality, just perfect for going to the office.
marilily - Boss Woman is definitely not discontinued and will never be in at least 100 coming years, it is Boss best-selling fragrance
I see it as soft, fresh, safe, non-offensive day-to-day fragrance (all meant positively), but there are moments when I smell nothing else but a toothpaste!
In my opinion boss women is perfect combination scent and remind me Dior pure poison.I do like it.
ultra femine, reminds me of a floral femme-fatale. Sure is the reaction i get. FRresh yet intriguing and sensual ; I see a very confident woman wearing this (mabye because i associate it with a friend who has got her stuff together in the most delighful way . Not offensive in any way, a genlle floral that brings a smiet to my face and a zip in my heart xxx
It's a great fragrance, fresh and sexy at the same time - perfect for night wear. Cons: it doesn't hold on my skin...
Suggestion: try it out before u get it!
Boss Woman is my ultimate choice for summer and spring.
It oozes with crispiness, freshness and cleanliness.
It is no good to classify it as floral fruity as there is hardly anything fruity about it. Not to my nose, that is.
I definitely see that fragrance matching a winter white ruffled shirt with a string of red coral necklace, fitted cropped trousers and red heels. This fragrance is feminine and, unlike some reviewers, I actually cannot sense any similarity to masculine fragrances.
Boss Woman is a universal fragrance; perfect when worn to office as well as a casual party with friends at the local karaoke pub.
Lasting power and silage are decent; it only needs reapplying every 5 hours or so.
The bottle is simple and reflects the nature of the fragrance.
9/10
I used to get compliments from guys while wearing this - described as a 'sexy' perfume, although I don't see that myself!
not my kind of scent..to masculine..it definitely does not suit the weather that I live in (tropical country) the scent becomes to strong..sometime i get dizzy..
Fresh, clean ans comforting scent. I love it and usually use it at work and at gym.
It's very refreshing thanks to the fruity opening, then freesia and violets make it more feminine. Crisp, light and comfortable. It makes a great office perfume, lasts all day, stays close the skin.
I liked the smell of this when I tested it in the past however never bought it.
Instantly recognizable but nowhere near as sexy as the original Boss for men.
Its very warm and sexy BUT unfortunately no notes in particular jump out. You wont smell it and think 'ohh mango' or anything. It does smell like a generic, synthetic blend.. but not in a bad 'supermarket' way.
Nice, worth owning and trying but too common to be a signature scent.
Apricot Jam!
Feminine, classic and elegant for day and office. Mixture of fruity, floral and woodsy, just what I like. Could consider it as my "signature fragrance" of 2000 and is one of the perfumes I have repeated more than twice with 90ml bottles.
This is the fragrance that rich women from Boston and NYC wear to restaurant lunches with their girlfriends when they vacation in Cape Cod and Bar Harbor. Boss Woman smells discreetly of money. Sophisticated but feminine. It's a fruity floral blend that is delicate, understated, and clean. It is very ladylike and proper. It does not have a distinctive note, nor is distinctive the way Angel is distinctive.
Of course that is my subjective opinion. The description that may be more meaningful to one reading this review is: Boss Woman has the fruity-floral top notes of Dolce & Gabbana's L'Eau the One but without the sweet vanilla base. There is no creamy quality to Boss Woman. The sandalwood provides gentle warmth.
This is a perfume for an adult, not a teen.
The EDP lasts all day on me, softening in the evening.
Hmmm, nail polish remover followed by eye makeup remover topped off with an extremely artificial white flower which may be the freesia. Just enough cedar to keep the moths away, and a touching demonstration of a commitment to ecology demonstrated by the jarring proof that there's no actual sandalwood to be found here. This makes me feel young by transporting me back to college Organic Chemistry but I always left those labs with a headache. It's odd that a company that makes such elegant clothes makes such grubby juice.
Sillage: 4-5 ft, enough to annoy
Durability: scrubbed after half hour
Fabulosity: better living through modern chemistry
Price to value ratio: high end price, low end product
1/10
The EdP smells like just about any other generic commercial fragrance that’s out there, with the usual mix of aldehydic-citrus top notes, nondescript floral stuff in the midsection, and some very synthetic-smelling woody notes and musks in the base. It seems strong at first, but the top notes quickly dissipate, leaving behind a surprisingly mild scent for a commercial EdP. At this point there’s a little bit of generic fruitiness along with the slightly aquatic florals and light woody-musky base. Boss Woman is not bad for what it is, but it really has nothing to distinguish it from thousands of other commercial scents except, perhaps, the fact that the sillage is not overpoweringly strong.
A very simple floral-fruity with the most perfect heart.
It starts out citrus-sweet with mandarin, orange and mango and it has a faint musky-woody dry down.
What I love love love about this scent is its floral heart: passion flower and freesia - an absolutely amazing combination. To me it feels so very feminine, elegant and clean, I simply can't get enough.
In my eyes it's an ideal daytime/office fragrance that lasts 6+ hours.
Boss Woman is a clean, fresh, young, modern and sexy scent.
Perfect for office wear, but perfect for spritzing it on after the evening shower or bath, too!
I didn't expect much from this fragrance prior to testing it. I wanted to explore more from the Hugo Boss range, and I would have felt incomplete if I hadn't tried all that was there to offer.
Boss Woman, while surprising at first, especially with it's delightfully sweet mango opening, turns out to be just as plain and boring as the bottle it comes in.
This fragrance won't offend; it's office friendly, warm weather friendly and an obvious crowd pleaser. I've smelt so many similar fragrances in the last few years, that I seem to have this constant feeling of deja-vu.
Boss Woman has become one of Hugo Boss' harder-to-find scents, and in some ways I wish that it was more readily available, so that I could see the disappearance of the disastrous Hugo XX instead.
While nicely balanced between fruity and flowery accords, Boss Woman makes me think of shampoo and Summer. Clean and simple, is the nicest thing I can say.
One thing that I do applaud is the fact that Boss Woman is barely synthetic. Although I love Deep Red, I do find its plasticine accord too much on certain days. Boss Woman is the first 'natural' scent by Hugo Boss that I've experienced, and for that I'm happy.
The lasting power is pretty good, as is the sillage. Out of the many Summer scents I detest these days, Boss Woman is something I'd prefer to smell on many young girls this coming season, despite the fact that this isn't really my cup of tea.
It is very feminine scent. Opening is fresh but later turns into something sweet, not distinctive from many other fragrancies
Beginning with a great crispiness, mandarin leaf and freesias ... but then a bit sour and ugh - mosquito spray - As luck would disappear back to its crisp scent but now modest.
Nothing for me... I will give it away!
Ick.
The first time I sampled this, I was so sure the tester had gone off. Which evil mastermind at Hugo Boss would bottle headache and set it loose on the general public? The tester must have gone bad.
Then I got a sample vial as a swap throw-in, and it looks like the tester wasn't off after all.
Medicinal bitter citruses, spoiled rotten at the bottom of the fruit basket. Stale violets distintegrating in the torpid vase water. Some poor landlady trying to mask the decay with nasty acrid chemical room "freshener." Sour and crass. Absolutely never again.
Reminded me a little of Chanel's Allure EDT, another at the top of my ick list.
This fragrance reminds me of Moschino's Cheap & Chic (red, black & white bottle)...I like C&C, so I like this one, too!
A Clean Minimalistic scent that is devoid of flamboyance bright garish colors and Overpowering oriental Incense & spices. it has a soapy scent
reminiscent of FCUK and what makes this an odd smell i think it's the Violet Leaf or the Mango but whatever it is
i'm not a fan.
YEK YEK YEK !! like i opened an old rotten botanic glass house , just rotten crappy roots of violet;
how ever i expected something sweet and fruity, light brightly touch, i've got a sample of t yesterday and i just hated it too much
boyish ,sharp and on my nose i can define aldehyde note somewhere on the dry down that i dislike ..
Nice but to me it is indeed a headache induced agent. Too bad, I like the way this fragrance smells. It subtle & classy. Airy lightly sweet & crisp.
This was a present from a friend and it certianly is a safe gift. A clean and fresh office scent but a bit dull for me, sorry. I didn't find the lasting power to be good either.
BOSS WOMAN is a fresh, clean floral-fruity fragrance similar in structure and attitude to Victoria's Secret DREAM ANGELS DESIRE, BODY, and SEXY LITTLE THING. Also somewhat similar to Creed SPRING FLOWER. Also somewhat similar to x, y, z... It's good to know that those seeking a safe office scent that makes people take note, at most, of their having recently showered, need not worry: they are in ample supply!
I'm not saying that there are no distinctions to be drawn between the large selection of such floral fruity fragrances on the market. I'm simply saying that all of them occupy a relatively small plot of perfumeland dedicated to this specific genre. But the primary distinctions inhere in the openings, which are evanescent anyway, so comparing them is rather like a Guinness Stout drinker attempting to identify the fine distinctions between various light beers. An exercise in futility, since the beverage of choice lies rather far from all of them!
That said: BOSS WOMAN is a high-quality fruity floral with just a smidgeon of soapiness in the drydown and good staying power in the edp. Very nice, if that's the sort of juice you're looking for!
Lovely!Nice, clean and elegant. It's also longlasting. I would like to have smell this perfume within the office. But if you are looking for something sexy then it's wrong address. The most dominant note is freesia to me. Well balanced!I love this!
You feel calm if you use it in the fall and you feel cheerful if you use it in the spring!
A very laid-back, not too 'out there' scent. Perfect for the office as it shouldn't offend anyone. I've had it before, but I've since moved on.
I had it during college and I recieve a lot of compliments! It's great and it also lasts for hours!
After trying a few others, I have to revise my review of this one.
At first, this struck me as a typical overly sweet fruity floral, common and in no way unique.
I still think it smells like alot of other scents but it is not as syrupy as I first thought. It does have a redeeming maturity after awhile that keeps it from being a tosser. Better than some, not as good as others.
When I had it still emember people saying all the time...you smell so good...even those who I didnt know, in bus, underground. I love it, because this smell is for a girl who knows what she wants.
To clean and fruitty for me but still a nice recognizable scent. It simply isn't my cup of tea but I love sniffing it on my friends.
a couple weeks ago tried it in a department store again. Good news: it is not as sour as I experienced it before, but I don't love it as much as I used to. It doesn't have the same intoxicating effect, but I still think it is good perfume..i have some attachment to it. Good for casual use, work, all-rounder in general
A dear friend of mine was using it all the time when it was launched and it suited her so.A little boyish, sharp, with a burst of fruity freshness, for a beautiful, clever and sharp tongued tomgirl! Whenever I feel it on someone it reminds me of my friend. It has a personality and class - a very modern scent you can wear about anytime and anywhere.
Dieser frische Duft hat mir vor einigen Jahren schon gefallen.
Nun habe ich ihn mir wieder gekauft - und er gefällt mir immer noch sehr gut.
Er ist lange anhaltend und bei jeder Gelegenheit tragbar.
This fresh smell some years ago already pleased me.
Now I bought it to me again - and he pleases me still very well.
It is for a long time continuing and with each opportunity portable.
I AGREE WITH VERTIGO.IT'S A RECOGNIZABLE PERFUME SUITABLE FOR A PERSON WHO WORKS IN AN OFFICE.IT HAS A CLEAN SCENT AND LASTS LONG.
it was my absolute favorite back in 2001-2003, but I don't know why it started annoying me for a few years by now, either my taste changed or my perfume went sour and tester I tried in store was off too. This fragrance as I remember had 'IT', very elegant, recognisable, contemporary with a difference, and there was nothing sour in it!I try it again in a few other places, I wouldn't be calm until unearth what went wrong here
It's a clean and sophisticated fragrance!
On me it's long lasting and confortable.
Lovely!
recognizable, clean, for a contemporary bright woman who doesn't want to draw attention too much, could be a good choice for a person who works in an office or meets a lot of people at work. surely no one will be offended by this one. not overpowering, very discreet.
