Well, this seems to be a " love or hate" fragance. To me is an unique fragance on the market, the fruity-leather-coconut base make it really comfortable, sexy and very versatile; is fresh but at the same time very warm and manly.

Sorry to say that I must go against the populist opinion on this one. For me, there is one word that sums up Hugo Energise and that word is 'synthetic'.

The first blast is an atomic bomb of perfumer's alcohol. I detect the citrus in the top notes but, beyond that, I find it difficult to pick out the other notes. Looking at the pyramid, it's easy to understand why. There are three citrus accords in the top notes. One is simply called 'lemon', another the generic term 'citruses' and the last 'pineapple leaf'. Pineapple I've experienced and enjoy but what is the olfactory attraction of pineapple leaves? My suspicions are that the fragrance oils used in the formulation of Energise are not of the best quality. The top notes also include two pepper and one mint accords. How anyone is expected to pick out anything in particular from that jumble of somewhat conflicting notes is beyond me.

Ditto the mid notes. There are supposedly two floral, two herbal,a nutmeg and a juniper accord. Sorry but I can't pick out any of that. It could be because I am beginning to develop a headache from breathing all the alcohol and synthetics. I do detect vanilla in the base notes.

Energise is in, my opinion, a good candidate for the deodorant isle at the supermarket and should be in the same price range. Blind buy for me and a very disappointing one. There are so many other fragrance offerings in the Hugo Energise price range that are far superior in terms of quality ingredients and enjoyment for the wearer.

I always say that Hugo Boss colognes lack character/personality but this one is definitely the exception. The top notes I hate, it smells way too musky, like AXE or something cheap. But as it dryes, it develops a certain fruity/citrusy/spicy thing that I like and reminds me very much of Pi Neo, just lighter and sharper. The name it´s very well focused, it´s energizing, it has a spirit, something that makes you wanna run and scream. Recommended for 17-35 year old guys.

It's a mossy wood all the way! This fragrance is so nice to breath, and smells almost better on clothes than it does on skin. It suits calm and collected or laid back boys who also think that the dominant purpose of their presence in the world is to take part in FUN! It's such a good smell to have people recognize you by and the closer they are, the better they get to inhale the seductive elements of your scent.

This is an incredibly lasting fragrance that just whispers when you get close to the wearer. It's delicious for any occasion and is something homely and comforting when it is the signature scent of the person you are intimate with. I would describe it as leafy and crisp but warm and spicey, fresh and clean but woody and cuddly. It's so well balanced it's virtually sexy-man-spirit in a bottle.

Definitely Energising.
