A fragrance about pride, inspired by the proud, regal stance of a mother.
A disassembled rose note lends the scent its clear, metallic aspect. A specially created lime tree blossom adds a warm supple touch at the same time. Cassie absolute gives Clemency its distinctive flowery note, while complex wood notes and leather elements softened with milk notes render the fragrance strong yet simultaneously velvety soft.
100 ml Eau de Toilette Concentrée Natural Spray (20% perfume oil) Clemency was launched in 2009.
I don't like the images and concepts selected by Humiecki & Graef for their perfumes, delivered in the ugly and uncomfortable brick-bottles. I'm glad I'm able abstracting from their quite clumsy and perhaps even repelling advertisings, because I love the Les Christophs' perfumes.
"Clemency" is "THE ONE" for me - the most beautiful fragrance.
I have difficulties to describe properly the opening, but there is no peper and coriander here, for sure. Top notes are slightly sharp and sourish, but not the citrusy sour - this is "that sourish floral perfume" I was searching for many years. Very soon the sourishness of the florals, which - once again - are not so easy to identify (obviously, the cassis, linden and a rose listed in the notes) is balanced and harmonized by the milky creaminess of tender, soft leather (daim).
I also would agree that "Clemency" is beautiful and rather weird, but I find no similarity to TDC Rose Poivre at all. Because of the very soft "milky leather" I could compare Clemency to SL Daim Blond, but this is a "sourish-floral daim", without any peachy sweetness of the Lutens' Daim. This perfume is quite linear: it jumps almost directly to the floral-sourish-milky-leather base and it lasts very long, especially when sprayed on clothes.
I'm finishing my second bottle, but still can't get enough of this delight...
I found this floral to be slightly on the "harsh" side; I didn't get that much leather, it was predominately rose and linden blossom to my nose. Longevity was great and projection was fairly decent, but the scent itself seemed too heavy-handed for my liking.
In the opening, I detected the linden blossom, cassis, and milk. As the heart emerged, it became slightly soapy and the linden blossom seemed to intensify, while the leather note slowly crept in. It seemed like the scent was really evolving. Now that the base has developed, it is all rose and leather (which smells like "oily leather" on me). Very unappealing on my skin chemistry!
On me there is a very strong smell of leather mixed with something flowery and maybe soapy. Can't detect the rose at all. Not pleasant, almost giving me a headache. Luckily it was only a small sample from Luckyscent...
I don't see the resemblance to Rose Poivree at all...
I agree with donniekaterina on this fragrance being beautifully weird. It is!
On applying the cassis and leather are most prominent but after a while these two settle and there comes a very nice blend. The milk and linden starts to rise...
I chose this frag to test because I love all the notes except I was not too sure about the cassis.
I must tell that this one is beautifully composed , I adore it.
I think the picture above is showing what it is...there is the warmth of love but this love is not a spoiling one. This love is controlled to be able to help and guide the ones we care for.
That is beautifully weird. It's spicy and peppery not too strong cause of the presence of milk which lighten the strong notes of coriander and cassis.I like how rose blends with spices. The relationship of the ingredients are harmonious. It could be a better and lighter version of Rose poivree by The Different Company.
