Acai Rain is a fragrance that captures the essence of the Brazilian Rainforest. It features the notes of Acai berries, raspberry, currant, orange, white peach, fresh green accords and vanilla organic extract.
It is available as 50 ml EDP, home scent, scented candle and body care products.
All I could smell in the beginning was rose. Gentle tea rose with something misty, dewy around it. But little by little the fragrance developed and now I detect also the fresh, green notes, berries and oranges. Lovely perfume, unfortunately on my skin it doesn't last long. But still, it is charming and easy to like.
O, and I am not detecting any vanilla at all.
green opener ... Like when you rub a green leaf between your fingers but -- sharp bright fruit also breaking in. The citrus edge might make people feel like this is soapy - however, the berry is assuredly present. It is the same sort of "berry" like the scent of peeling a pomegranate ... The vanilla and watery dry peach skin ghosts around this and adds balance to what could otherwise be quite bitter or too "sour".
On a side note: I'm very pleased -- there was a candle scent called "rambutan cassis" by archipelago which was discontinued... this has a very reminiscent scent. Strangely, when I first experienced the similar scent in the form of the candle.. at first I didn't love it .. but I find it has an addictive quality to it. It isn't even the scent that comes wafting immediately to the senses, it is what lingers while you aren't breathing in that really makes it for me.
I must admit that the opening of Infusion Organique ACAI RAIN is rather reminiscent of freshly shampooed carpet. Fortunately, however, the composition improves. By the drydown, ACAI RAIN is a smooth fruity fragrance with a yummy resinous quality.
I do not think that ACAI RAIN smells like smoothies or açai, and I am quite familiar with the smell of both! I have been using products from the Naturally Victoria's Secret Line since they were launched a couple of years ago. ACAI BERRY & MAGNOLIA smells especially nice and, based on my behavior, may even be addictive. They do not have a perfume, but the alcohol-free fragrant moisture mist smells lovely, and I spray it with reckless abandon everywhere, even on my face!
Overall, from this induction on two cases, I am willing to boldly proclaim that I prefer my açai fragrances more floralized than fruity. Of course, that's probably because, for all X, I prefer X floralized rather than fruity! I do think that fruity fragrance lovers might really go for ACAI RAIN, which does offer something new.
On a final, arguably irrelevant note, the associations of the name of this perfume with acid rain are unavoidable. So this is a good example of how *not* to name a perfume!
Very green yet fruity. Smells like leaves with a bit of raspberries thrown in. Fresh, not cloying due to a bit of citrus. Very pleasant. Middle drydown maybe not quite as nice as opening since greens more prominent than fruits so I miss the freshness of the berries. But what's left is still quite lovely. I appreciate it's uniqueness in a world of boring florals so well worth trying. Especially since it's reasonably priced. Good sillage. Applied just a drop and I can smell it perfume the air.
This is a good perfume, very unique, don't think I've come across another perfume with acai as a note. It's fruity but not sweet, smells like acai berry, a little bit of peach and a lot of refreshing green notes, no vanilla in it for me. I like that these perfumes are made with organic sugar cane alcohol, they are pretty long lasting too. Does give a feeling of standing in a rainforest smelling all the different trees, flowers and fruits. The bottles are beautiful and I would love to have their scented reed diffusers for my home.
I must have THE strangest body chemistry EVER. I was pretty excited to try this as it has so many notes I adore. What I was NOT expecting was for it to smell so chemically...for some reason on me it smelled exactly like brand new carpet. yes...CARPET. I'm at a loss to explain what thats all about, but there it is. Eventually it faded completely away. I was hoping that the chemical smell would fade and be replaced by juicy raspberries and peach..not so much.
