Issey Miyake uses very unusual and rare materials in order to create perfumes that evoke the sense of timeless freedom and serenity. L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme was created as a universal Eau de Toilette perfect for any occasion.

L'Eau d'Issey for Men is a woody aquatic fragrance with yuzu as in top notes, along with notes of bergamot, lemon and tarragon. A middle note is spicy and woody: nutmeg and water lily are an exciting and unexpected accord in this composition. An end note carries an intense woody scent which is sharp and enriched with tobacco,sandalwood, cedar, vetiver and musk. It was created by Jacques Cavallier in 1994.

Two editions in new flacons but with the same compositions were introduced in 2009 - L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme and L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Intense. Colours of the flacons - light grey and dark grey colour of asphalt make an impression of a union of water and concrete.

Another disaster.
Smells citrus, citruS, citrUS, citRUS, ciTRUS, cITRUS, CITRUS, nothing else.
I cant believe same nose behind it with Opium.
Yes i like citrus as fruits, but cant smell it all day.

This was given as gift by a very good friend of mine years ago,
i cherished it alot.
It's liked the predecessor of aquatic frag for male. A wonderful experience indeed.
The citrus opening are so fresh and kept me wondering what sort of notes would come up next.
It's an exciting male edt,
there is still 1/3 bottle left on my desk.
I just bought the latest 2009 summer edition and the stopper is the same except the latest one is transparent good looking and the old one is grey color plastic .
It's liked an old friend of mine looking at me from the desk. I waved and said "hi".

I'm surprised to see so many positive reviews of this from women. To me, it's very cheap and fake aquatic, the sort of thing a guy puts on to let you know he's making an effort, even though he doesn't like colognes. I tried using up my sample as a room spray, but it just made me think of some high school guy dressed up for a "big date." (I know this wasn't around when I was in high school, but something similar must have been.)

Mmm. This is such a sexy scent! Wow! I actually followed a man around a store to breathe it in! Fresh, citrusy, sharp & like a bracing ocean breeze - ozone-rich - rich & woody at the base & very, very distinctive. I can smell it a mile away - the most gorgeous scent for gorgeous, fabulous men. Having said this, I have also bought this & worn it myself...& I'm all woman. Very versatile. No1 for men...weak at the knees :)

I think it is a very well made perfume, specially to wear during the hottest months of the year, I also belive it is a perfume to be worn during the day, not suitable for special or elegant occations in the evening. It is very fresh. I think it is too fruity to be an elegant perfume, but is good if you are looking for something refreshing.

I am a woman and I wear this too on a regular day at work. There is a slight sour breeze in the middle for me, but overall, it is very well-made.

Although I was not overly excited by my initial impression of the notes in this fragrance, the compliments I received changed that. This is a light and lasting fragrance that distills a freshness at the end of a long day.

This is a beautiful fragrance. Its freshness is so inviting.
If I encounter it in the street, I follow the person that has it on. It is sharp, imposing, very masculine

Citruses and woods that clash and then find a harmony. This fragrance has a unique story. The composer really came up with something original.
I find fragrances introduced before 2000s outdated nowadays, but this an exception. I can still wear this in the spring. It lasts 8+ hours.

This is absolutely my favorite fragrance ever! Spray 3-4 sprays, and you will last all day, good for wearing with casual, or with the dress up. Lasts all day without being offensive. But Still I suggest you try before you buy.

Both afraafra and mariotgomez are right. The opening is very sharp, and a little goes a long way (the atomizer sprays way too much). This is in my top 2 favs., the other being Gucci Nobile. I have received more compliments with this cologne than any other in the past 30 years of buying cologne. I've been buying and loving this fragrance since 1994. The majority of women that compliment me know it's Issey Miyake and just love it. And I thought it was my little secret. heheh
