Paradox is a feminine fragrance presented in 1998. The nose behind it is Daniele Moliere. It opens with melon, Italian mandarin, cardamom, nutmeg and seductive tuberose at the top. The heart is intensive, pure and clear, wrapped up in jasmine, ylang-ylang blossom, rose, cedar and cypress. The base is warm and soft thanks to the notes of sandalwood, patchouli, musk and vanilla, which caress your skin along with the notes of caramel and Tahitian vetiver. The nose behind this fragrance is Daniel Moliere.

This fragrance is actually quite nice and safe. To me it all about violets even though it's not listed in the notes. This softens to a nice violet and caramel scent that is cozy and close to the skin. Not sure is this comes in EDP just as Malegria, as I find the EDT a bit weak!

A little bit weak, considering the notes and the name.Starts off with a pretty melon twist and a vague reminiscence of Angel clones, then fades to a cool fruity scent - very promising, calm, perfectly acceptable for daytime.Where`s the pine? Where`s the seemingly strong,patchouli-laid base? May be it`s my skin, but this promise was not kept very well.
Verdict - nice. Just nice.

I'm making an effort to test every Jacomo scent I can get my hands on. Paradox was the first in a series of Jacomo samples I purchased.

Paradox is an EDT and behaves like one. It lasts about four hours, maximum, though it has good sillage throughout.

The fragrance opens with a burst of juicy melon, much like Angel or New West. I'm not a huge fan of that aroma nowadays. I think it's been done to death already. Fortunately, the melon burns off after 15 minutes or so. Jacomo fragrances are all about the dry-down, and Paradox is no exception. What follows those fruity melon notes is something completely different and much more wearable. Paradox evolves to a soft spicy floral and holds this pattern for the next four hours.

I detect some similarities in the drydown of Paradox and Anthracite. I'm still testing other Jacomo scents but perhaps there is a signature Jacomo accord (much like the Guerlinade that makes or breaks the Guerlain scents) that gives all Jacomo scents a distinct character?

At any rate, it's like but not love for me. Not certain that I find it full bottle worthy, and those loud melon top notes make it tricky for daytime/office. However, if sprayed 15 minutes before you need to be somewhere, it will be just fine for most occasions.

Jacomo PARADOX is a strange creation. First, it's not sweet. Don't ask me how a composition filled with caramels and vanilla and currants and melon and mandarin could not be sweet, but PARADOX is not.

Although I've worn this edt now several times, the words needed to explain it escape me. I don't know how to describe this fragrance--beyond the fact that it features savory patchouli. Perhaps it is the cypress that is neutralizing the sweet notes, with the vetiver contributing as well. PARADOX could be worn just as comfortably by men as by women. It's not very flowery at all.

Do I like it? Yes, but I don't know why. It's not meh, but it's not not-meh either. I could easily live without it, but I'm happy to have made this buy, though I'm really not sure why. PARADOX is not obviously appropriate for any particular context, but neither is it inappropriate. Perhaps that's the paradox.

I couldnt believe they have a bottle of Paradox in my small town
ok jacomo's scents are not casual.I find them always a bit off, or in your face or so strong!! Paradox doesnt know what it wants to be...it is a bit edgy, a bit masculine, a bit too much present
Jacomo has never been my cup of tea!!

This perfume actually has something exotic and unique! Luca Turin gave it a very high rating and if you take the time to get to know it, you will understand why.
It is very special. Jacomo has very very good fragrances indeed!
good luck!

Interesting. Unlike tommy_girl, the top notes don't do it for me. I actually find them unsurprising. Not unpleasant, but a tad melony, a bit harmless, and just kind of. . . 'there'. 'Paradox' though, is a bit like its name; it both is and isn't special. Though not unusual, what's in this little blue dreidel is bright and alluring. It's not gorgeous but compulsively attractive. There are no endless waves wafting behind you as you walk by, yet the scent is definite and *memorable*. The mai-tai top notes are not the whole story here. I love the way this one fades and deepens, wanes and brightens, keeps you sniffing. I feel compelled to let you all know, however, that 'Paradox' discolored one of my cotton blouses (kind of bleached it), so be sure to spray it or dab it on your skin and let dry before getting dressed.

I remember when Paradox for men was just launched, one day I was in the sephra smelling it while some sellers were advertising for that.I asked if there were the feminine scent.the seller replied no.I liked the masculine fragrance very much that the seller gave me a little miniature of it.
later I discovered about paradox for women.I thought it's released after male cologne, but according to the site,it is launched a year before.
by the way as much as I love the top and base notes,I dislike the middle notes.it opens very romantic, sweet and fruity, but as the first notes disappear it becomes sharp and too classic for me.I've learned to avoid from Ylang-Ylang and this perfume is no exception.
again the base notes are sweet and loving.vanilla with caramel are so gourmand mixed with some weak spicy notes.
actually it's not an office fragrance.I think it's good for every woman intimate moments.
