Riviera Nights Jacques Bogart for men

Another "cheapie" that may have a small price tag but has immense value.

Packaging and Bottle :

Packaging is standard but matches the colour tones of the bottle very well. The bottle itself is quite nice. Strong base but with a plasticky top. Sprayer is awesome.

The juice:

Opens up with a nice fresh grapefruit mixed with some neroli and bergamot. Very shortly after you sense some sweet spice afforded by the nutmeg, some ginger and cardamom. As this dries down further, you get a sweet, fresh spicy and citrus accord that just smells delicious.

At the base you end up with dried fruits mixed with a vanillery (tonka) fusion. There still is a bit of spice but it's not overwhelming. The citrus elements are far in the background.

Final Thoughts:

I didn't expect too much when I first sprayed it, especially as I got that citrus opening and I thought ... not another citrus frag.
But then the gentle spices hit with the backdrop of sweetness and tonka. I knew I had to get it, especially at that price.

Longevity and projection are superb ... as to be expected by this house. Dare I say, Chanel Homme Edition Blanche can step aside for this hidden gem!

The opening reminded me of two scents: Slightly Cartier Declaration, but the declaration is more spicy. And remember a little over a Lanvin l'homme, but without lavender.

Riviera opens with a lot of bergamot and orange stick (neroli), add to that a bit of cardamom has a vibe to a Ginger. After a few minutes begins to emerge a sweet note of tonka bean. Lanvin has vanilla, but I think Riviera with a dry down more sweeter.
