This was the first cologne I ever bought... and now I'm kind of a cologne junkie... I can't get enough! I almost wish I started out with something that wasn't this good, it would be a lot nicer on my wallet. It starts out like a cinnamon-y pine tree hug. I love it, but I wish it projected a bit farther and lasted a bit longer. I get about 4 hours and it's really close to the skin for the last 3. On a scale from 1 to 10, I'd give it an 8.5.
This is one of my autumn favorites.Classy and definately not for the under 40 age group.I dont have a spray bottle but find it lasts forever but the projection is there and not offensive.
Not sure if i can smell the cinnamon but it smells like pine, fir and spice to me but still has a clean soapy edge which I love.
Always get many comments which are positive when I wear this and there is no way it smells cheap.
One of the ones in my collection that I never get tired of and one of the best from Bogart.
If you see some it is an ideal gift for a favorite Uncle or Dad..
Witness is "Christmasy" thanks to a high class cinnamon note but it stays away from warm fires and uplifting sunlight.
The pine note transports the fragrance to a murky snow covered forest, quickly removing any happy feelings given by the other notes. Witness is probably the best fragrance in the world to wear when watching a Dracula movie. The fragrance helps you identify with the fangless characters as they witness the count's odd spice and his dark castle situated in an even darker forest.
The bottle looks fabulous when backlit in a dark room. The word "witness" emerges as if you were looking through a keyhole into a realm of green magic.
More timid than a powerhouse and extremely niche Witness is a bargain purchase or no purchase at all for me.
I got this about a month ago and have worn it several times since. I love this fragrance so much that I bought two back-up bottles as this gem has been discontinued (so they say).
Upon initial application it smells like some rich liqueur: sweet and spicy and deep. Put another way, it has a sharpness about it which is tempered by a boozy sweetness.
Artemisia, citrus, fir and cinnamon really stand out right from the start. The cinnamon actually smells more like cloves to me - it is nothing like the overly sweet cinnamon I have so often experienced.
The fir adds a woodiness which is sharp, but not overpowering. It is exactly the right sort of wood as many other woods would be swamped by the boldness of the other notes.
This is a definite powerhouse fragrance that is quite unique and offers a much more complex array of notes than, say, something like Quorum.
A little treasure that sadly it´s discontinued like many extraordinary perfumes like Insensé from Givenchy..Still crying when I remember both!!
Witness was a very intense fragrance both woody and sweet with a complex estructure and development.
It was my favourite for winter, very elegant and charm.
MISS IT SOO MUCH!!!
