Jaguar for Men by Jaguar is a Aromatic fragrance for men. Jaguar for Men was launched in 1988. The nose behind this fragrance is Dominique Preyssas. Top notes are orange, lavender, green notes, mandarin orange, cassia, basil, grapefruit, anise and bergamot; middle notes are cyclamen, nutmeg, carnation, gardenia, cinnamon, jasmine, caraway, sage, rose and geranium; base notes are leather, sandalwood, tonka bean, amber, patchouli, musk, oakmoss, vanilla, cedar and tobacco.

I have the reissued version of this, which has a silver metal cap. I've never smelled the original version, but based on the reviews, I'll bet the reissue is a reformulation, because I smell no amber or sweetness at all in this.
The current version of Jaguar is outstanding. This is a very green, bone-dry herbal fragrance, with sharp woody aromatic notes. Basil is the predominant note, and it's buttressed by some good pine notes and strong oakmoss. There's an underlying smell of leather to this, which smooths out the fragrance a bit and gives it richness and warmth. However, this is predominantly a sharp, intense aromatic woody scent. It smells like a sharper, drier Basile Uomo.
Complex and well balanced, Jaguar For Men is perfect if you're looking for a fragrance with an intense smell, but don't want to be blown off the map.
MY RATING: 8.5/10
بویه نسبتا تندی داره.ولی برایه فصله سرد خیلی خوب جواب میده.یه کاره کلاسیک و خوب.با موندگاری نسبتا خوب رویه لباس
I was fortunate to acquire a 125 ml splash bottle, still sealed in the box! It has the wood cap and says 85% alcohol. I decanted some into a dab vial and applied it that way. Doing this, I didn't detect much in the way of top notes. It seems like it takes a while for the amber to heat up and help bring the other notes out. The orange is there but muted, and it wafts in and out gently, perhaps for a couple hours. The two main themes here are ones I found in vintage Xeryus and vintage Quorum. From the Quorum type, I get green, leather, tobacco and a bit of "freshness." The Xeryus type features a strong amber, cedar, and spice type of accord. It's definitely not too sweet, nor musky, and while the lavender note is clear, it's not irritating, as is the case in many "men's" fragrances from the 1980s. One thing that's great about this one is that it offers all the complexity, dynamism, balance, and naturalness you expect from a great vintage fragrance without any qualities that might offend anyone; hence, you can wear it for any occasion. And I see no reason why it would cause problems in hot weather.
What's really interesting to me is how much variation there is among the reviews (especially at BN). There is certainly a "grassy" aspect to it, but it's not nearly as strong as in a fragrance like Bobby Jones Cologne. There is also an almost gourmand aspect to it, with the vanilla and some other notes generating "toasty" and almost chocolate-like qualities at times. I can also see why some might feel it's powdery, though it's not a particularly strong element. So, if you don't like "shape-shifting" fragrances, this may be one to avoid. On the other hand, if you like what this fragrance offers, this is definitely a "Holy Grail" candidate. However, keep in mind that there could be reformulations, so if you get a fragrance that seems bland and much simpler, one would assume that is the case. Longevity is very good but projection/"sillage" is moderate. Also, the Quorum aspect to it does not last as long as the Xeryus (amber and cedar accord), and the grassy aspect gives way to the toasty, somewhat gourmand aspect, as the scent progresses. On the box, it says "made in Switzerland" (which may help some of you identify the formulation).
UPDATE: I decanted some into an atomizer bottle and spayed some one. That way, I do get a strong blast of orange, but it doesn't last long at all. The far drydown reminds me more of vintage Xeryus than anything else. I didn't get any chocolate type quality, which suggests my sense of smell is adjusting to it.

fresh and masculine
I adore this sexy scent. Its definitely mature-smelling, but its absolutely one of my favourite men scents. Sometimes I even wear it myself.
This one will make you smell very mature like the classic CK Obsession. It's very potent, sharp and spicy. I put this for folks in 40+ years old.
I almost finished the 100ml bottle of this classic fragrance, so I could say some (good) words about it: strong masculine opening that hits your nostrils with a bitter-fresh-aromatic feeling, (lavender-fruity-basil combo), slowly crossing (in 30min-1hr)into a spicy-floral heart, where I can detect carnation, sage & a bit of rose and slightly cinnamon, leaving (after 4-5hrs) a very nice trail of leather-musk-patchouli-amber.
Even if the whole sounds a little too mature, I like it for its style and confident feeling given to the wearer.
It is still available online at good prices so I will soon replace it with a new one. Average sillage and longevity, good for summer and social evenings. My rank 7.7/10.
It's one of my favourite fragrance.
Masculine, Fresh, Spicy.
rarely you can find something like this.
I wonder if Jaguar edt was reformulated and what is the final result. on the box in the older cologne, there is a 85% alchol, in the most recent a 88% or even a 90%. does anyone have an idea on that?
I thought I would like this - but as far as I can remember there is something in this I don't like.....Having said that, I would like to have another sniff of this again.
AWFUL, the WORST ever. Its like urine, really, it reminds me the smell of urine or bad sweat. It makes me sick, men, please, do not use it. Thank you.
Jaguar for Men is one of those fragrances that never getting old as time goes by.
To my nose it has a "green" feeling. It is strong, masculine and elegant for daily use.
Actually, what I really feel when I wear it is the green notes of the top + the anise and the bergamot in the beggining. Then, the flowers in the heart well blended with the base notes of woods and patchouli. I don't feel any vanilla in it.
But the fragrance is very good and it has a longlasting on my skin.
It is a classic, which carries on the powerful sensation of wear a Jaguar.
Jagaur classic is the best among the all jagaur fragrances. It is very masculine, bright sparkling wood spicy fragrance with moderate silage and longevity. Nice for mature men and casual wear.
I give it 7.5 out of 10.
