Jo Malone has introduced a new fragrance Wild Bluebell at a presentation in London end of May 2011. According to a representative of the house of Jo Malone, the new fragrance starts renovation of the house. Advertising poster features a model instead of a flacon, which is unusual for media campaigns of Jo Malone, since we are used to seeing flacons surrounded with main ingredients of compositions.
Creator of the perfume is Christine Nagel who presented a new version of bluebell, composed of various notes, including green fresh notes, flowers (lily of the valley, rose hip) and spicy chord of cloves. Bluebell is a wild forest flower and its scent provides a moist echo of summer forest. English bluebell is an endangered species, Jo Malone gave a donation to Woodland Trust. Genuine bluebell does not take part in the composition, but its recreation composed of various notes.
Top notes: bluebell and cloves
Heart: lily of the valley, jasmine, rose hip
Base: white amber and musk
Jo Malone Wild Bluebell arrives on the market in sale from Sept 1st 2011, as 30 and 100 ml Cologne accompanied with body care products and scented candle.

PURE LOVE!!! Every time I spray this fragrance it makes me feel clean, happy, innocent, calm -- comforted on the deepest level. I feel like a little kid running through a field of bright wild flowers... with not a care in the world... :) love, love, love it!!
I have a sample vial. Definitely would not pay for a full bottle. I agree with the others who describe it as "clean" "water" "aquatic". Nice, but not wild, and not worth paying a huge amount for. Kind of boring, actually.
It's not original Jo's perfume. It was made by someone else when Jo left the company and this scent is very bad. I'm glad I only got it as a sample. The value is not in the brand anymore once Jo left.
I have been wearing Wild Bluebell for about a week now. For those who say it's rather simple and/or fleeting in its staying power, I highly recommend b.e. (becker eshaya), one of my favorite scents. While b.e. has the same middle and base notes, the top note is mandarin orange, which adds a slightly richer complexity to the scent. It stays on longer than any of my other perfumes and I receive lots of compliments. :P Check it out and let me know if you agree!
This scent is truer to its name than most, yet I agree with those who note a coolness, even a politeness of mood about it. Hints of dryer sheet, not in a bad way. This is much more straightforward than the others from Jo Malone.
The first spray reveals grass, but it comes and goes within seconds to blossom into warm spring floral of jasmine and light lily. There are little notes of sweetness that pop through like bubbles coming up from seltzer water. It settles into a very smooth, slightly sweet, clean floral, but I am positive I have smelled similarities in other fragrances.
Today is March 30th and when I open the windows I can smell the heady fragrance of the plum blossoms blooming on the trees around our house - heavenly... it gives me the urge to drop everything and wander outside in the sunshine! Wild Bluebell comes closer to this scent than anything I've found so far; not as warm, less earthy and more soapy, but it has the fresh green and watery quality that smells like early spring to me. I agree about "Zombie Girl" though - WHAT were they thinking?? The bunnies are okay but she looks like she's dying and demented....I guess they're trying to avoid people thinking this is an old lady scent, but she is definitely scary!
I like zombie girl! She somehow illustrates the coolness of this fragrance - both in temperature and in mood. It's like high tea at the Dorchester, and you're wearing one of those crazy wedding fascinator hats while characters from Alice in Wonderland sit frozen on benches nearby. It's whimsical. There is a lovely blue note in here that keeps it from turning into a sour white flower old lady fume. I also catch the note of watermelon rind, which is a light green, watery scent. While it does change over time, the blue note stays with me throughout. Overall, this is a nice watery floral that doesn't try to steal the show.
This is a frolicky Spring/Summer scent, more appropriate for younger females. I think it smells like sweet and tart candy necklaces mixed with white flowers and fresh greens, and a hint of musky spice. It is, I think, not typical for Jo Malone fragrances.
This was a very loud obnoxious synthetic floral fragrance for me. It hit me over the head and I would feel embarassed if I was wearing this in a small confined space like and airplane and inflicting it on everyone around me.The other passengers would be justified if they opened the windows. I prefer Jo Malone's Orange Blossom or Lime Blossom.
i got a hand wash and hand cream in this scent, and i have become slightly obsessed with it! The bluebell scent is so clean and delicate. It has got that old fashioned smell without being grandma-ish. I love!
I'm a little disappointed with this scent, especially for the price. All I smell is bluebell. It's lovely, but it's a little one-dimensional. It's bluebell in the opening, blue bell in the brief dry down, and then it disappears after 1, maybe 2 hours. If it had some sort of interesting dry down I think I'd really love this, but blah. The only reason I'm not returning it is that I think I might have something (like a clean musk) I could layer it with to make it smell amazing.
super!super!super!I loved it
Wild Bluebell, not so wild!
While I really like the Malone line, something keeps me from loving it. Mostly falling into a pleasant casual daytime/ night time vibe, I don't find them romantic nor bold in nature (Pomegranate maybe the exception).
Always a clean feel to their scents (which is good on one hand but a bit polite on the other) this Wild Bluebell is no exception. Soft and floral upfront (not much going on the middle) with a dry down that ushers in a nice musk/ amber combo which gives it bit some character.
So, sillage ok and longevity passable, this is not my fave but there is certainly someone out there that is waiting for this one.
Happy to sample but not buying.
I was scared by the 'Zombie girl' in the ad and didn't dare to try this new scent at the Jo Malone counter until a couple of days ago...
Wild Bluebell opened with a clean floral note, which was really enjoyable. But when the salesman sprayed Orange Blossom over the top, I could only smell Orange Blossom. He explained that the two had similar ingredients(?!), that's why I couldn't tell the difference.
I didn't buy anything in the end.
To be honest, I can't remember the smell of Wild Bluebell now, but I can still remember the faces of the model and the unprofessional sales assistant -- they both scare their customers off!!
Nice, but lasts too little a time for me to determine whether I love it or not. I think it's not interesting enough for me to purchase a full bottle, but it's still worth a note. It smells predominantly of watermelons to me, or rather, how watermelons "taste" like. I can't really explain it... but you'll understand! It's really fresh but soft and warming (not 'spicy' warm) at the same time. The mood it conjures brings to mind Burberry Women (the one in the simple round bottle with amber juice). I know it doesn't smell similar in any way. But, the comforting relaxing easy going nature of both perfumes make me thinking of them together.
very boring. nice, ok, but boring. on me it doesnt last longer than 15 minutes, the rest is very light, aquatic cool soapy smell. sort of like fresh linen or something. i think it would better work as a linen or home-spray to or to spritz your clothes or something but not something i would like to smell on my body to feel special... i just dont see this as a perfume.
and yes, this model really doesnt fit into the whole picture!
Not too floral, Not too feminine -
Wild Bluebell is a gorgeous contrast to mainstream fragrances. I find is perfect for casual fridays, and for any occasion where I want to wear something a little different.
It isn't too girly, so I believe that even Tom-boys wouldn't hesitate to try this.
There's a clean, greeness that prevents this from becoming overpowering, yet its scent lingers for ages.
It's charming, intruiging scent is what makes it distinguishable.
The opening of Wild Bluebell reminds me very much of a base/accord used in a bunch of discontinued fragrances from the Estée Lauder Group: Clinique's Simply( which was warmer an more interesting) and Happy to Be, aswell as Tommy Hilfliger's True Star. Sort of a fruity-milky-aquatic note.
Sorry, for my tastes I would categorize this Jo Malone release as a duty free-type of fruity floral. It could become better layered with for example English Pear & Freesia.
And... Oh! No! I just saw that zombie girl ad in British Vogue!!!
The white rabbit visual is much better.
I tried this today at the Jo Malone counter. It is a light and fresh floral. Very pretty and clean smelling to me. I agree the scent is very linear. Not unappealing, but not one I would be constantly smelling my wrist over. It would probably make a nice gift as I don't think there is anything offensive or particular about it. Not one I would invest in a full bottle.
It has a sweet and sour quality which is very appealing. You smell the pretty flowers and you see them growing from the earth as well. This genre makes me think of Byredo's La Tulipe, but it veers a much greener direction. Refreshing and springy yet with a sensual aura due to the pronounced musk.
This opens with delicate white flowers, then suddenly a strange note appears - watermelon? I cannot explain this, but it is this green, slightly fruity sweet scent that I smell overwhelmingly for the middle stages. It is nice, just unexpected. The flowers seem to return, with a light musk as this dries down. This is a pretty scent, and something about it does capture the English aspect they were seeming to aim for, with the Alice in Wonderland-esque ads. It's like a dewy flower garden on a summers morning. Still clear and fresh, but the scent of the opening flowers is starting to linger. Despite not smelling the same, this gives me the same feeling as Apres L'Ondee does when I smell it. A lovely dainty floral to add to an accomplished range of fragrances.
As a self proclaimed Jo Malone addict, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this fragrance!!!! Wild Bluebell dries so beautifully on me I seriously cannot live without it. Green, fresh, with a touch of sweetness that just lures me in.
The body cream doesnt really have the sweet musk I like in lotions but it does have that "just out of the shower" or clean feel to it. I also just purchased the wash/gel as well and WOW...I didnt want to get out of the shower!
I usually go to Bergdorf Goodman because the people that work there are always so incredibly nice and can always answer all my questions. Also I was just invited to a Wild Bluebell party on September 15th from 5-7 at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC. They said to invite friends...so my fellow fragrance lovers please come...Who doesn't want free drinks, food and presents? Just call 212-872-2766 and let them know you want to come!
This is a beautiful, fairy tale fragrance. It's different from anything I've ever smelled. The florals are light, but not powdery. It is airy and manages to stay close to your skin while still scenting the air immediately around you. It has wonderful staying power. Wild Bluebell does, in fact, bring to mind a picture of bluebells, or even forget-me-nots. It's a light blue, innocent scent. Would be appropriate for younger girls right up to young women.
Lovely.
Just got an advance bottle. Meh. Not worth the price. Linear - if you like it when you spray it, you'll like it till the end. And visa versa.
Very floral, I get lily and some jasmine, and that's it. I think of a widow in a small cottage living on her husband's pension.
If I had tried a sample, I would definitely not have invested in a bottle. If this is the new direction for Jo Malone, then I think we are going to be parting ways. Ah well, it was a nice relationship for a number of years...
