Joop! announces fragrant pair Joop! Thrill for February 2009, promising a sensual, fragrant elixir for him and for her. Thrill pair is free and sexy, visits trendy places in the city, where everything is lively and exciting.
Joop! Thrill Man was created by Christophe Raynaud, as a very sexy and provocative interpretation of a classic, spicy fragrance.
Dominant, sexy notes start from the very opening of the fragrance. Frozen lavender, bergamot and green apple are a perfect overture to aromas of a heart, which introduce accords of precious wood, while base notes triumph with attractive vanilla, sandalwood and creamy, sensual amber touch.
Collection of
Joop! Thrill Man includes: 50 ml Eau de Toilette, 100 ml Eau de Toilette, 100 ml After Shave Splash, 150 ml Shower Gel, 75 g Deodorant Stick.

I know what the genious who created this perfume was thinking. He was trying to make a playful, flirtatious, fruity type of cologne with a sensual drydown (which is in the same vein as Black XS, One million and Azzaro Twin). And he succeeded! I like all these others but Joop thrill achieves what they can not. Smelling natural. Daring and relaxed, seductive and romantic at the sametime. Addictive.
Sillage: 8/10
Longevity: 7/10
Scent: 10/10
One of the best creations of the last few years.
I'm a woman :)
I gave a sample to my husband. But the fragrance is kind of unisex in my opinion, and a great one.
Maybe it's not much complicated, but it's sweet with a great heart note, pretty wood, not dry but soooo pretty :)
The fragrance is very sexy and worth trying. One of the sexiest male/unisex fragrances I've sniffed :)
I fool you not, this one is addictive! It has this sweet scent of Joop! but not the girly way, plus the aquatic smell. It feels like a chemist just did his perfect mix of all time. It gets you energized and happy in a gloomy rainy Winter day, this one can get you up from any downs.
Despite my never ending love for this one, it lasts only for 1-2 hours, but leaves behind a smell that people start recognize you for, good Sillage, but not long-lasting.
Test it :)
Smell = 9/10
Sillage = 8/10
Longevity = 5/10
One of those scents I have no sure I would like to use around though I like the way it smells. It has that sweet signature that is common to the Joop's scents I know. This, however, is not loud as Joop! Homme and is more fresh than Joop! Jump. Something between, more light, but still with some consistency. Well, finishing here and smelling my wrist now is enough to say yes, I'd use it. More than ok.
Joop! men's frags remind me of the Rush Hour movie franchise. Loads of cheesy, stupid releases based on one joke ('I don't know what you be talkin' bout!').
I couldn't fault Almairac's original Joop! Homme simply because it was so audacious and different. It really blew me away in terms of its creativity and eccentric image, right down to the pink juice and exclamation mark on the word Joop! The thing had personality.
Now imagine if Rush Hour 23 came out, and it actually turned out to be pretty good. Well, that's what happened with Thrill Man. This is a nice little winter warmer and especially for those romantic interludes.
You will be lucky to catch the top notes unless you spray onto fabric. These are a lightly spiced fresh apple, bergamot and lavender. I really get the 'frozen' aspect of the lavender. On skin it dives almost immediately to the heart and basenotes. Here, a warm vanilla is the big player, but appearing every now and then is the ghost of the original Joop! Homme which is what I really like about it. I think there is an unlisted violet note in there chasing around after the vanilla and sandalwood.
If you find Joop! Homme too weird, try this one. It is different enough to be noticed, but without being offensive. Just seems done to perfection, and very, very sexy up close!
If there wasn't Shiseido's "Zen for Men", this would have ranked first in my list of favourite new male scents of 2009. Still, it's the surprise of the year, very distinctive, very warm, and in contrast to some comments below I don't regard it as too feminie. Suits me very fine.
Ladies take note: this is a nice little female scent.
Now, I know plenty of guys who wear female scents & I happily own & wear many men’s fragrances….some lean towards the current idea of warm feminine scents (Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin) others I have are considered very masculine (L’eau d’Issey, Fahrenheit). However, Thrill really is by far the most ‘female’ male scent I know in its grouping. It is quite a light, sweet, creamy vanilla with a touch of woods & amber. Please do not look at the citrus top notes – they hardly feature to my nose, & the fruits act only to lift the fragrance up from its warm, heady base.
This is a scent that, IMO, is reminiscent of many other widely known & well-loved female perfumes, & although it feels less polished & executed with diminished panache, it is none the less intriguing & likable in its own right.
There are parts of this scent that remind me of Hypnotic Poison & its delicious vanilla crème brûlée aroma. With Thrill, the crunchy caramelised topping has been done to perfection using a kitchen torch – rich & sweet, but not saccharine. For me, HP has always had that (not unpleasant) burnt caramel note – here the delicious vanilla desert has been over-scorched under a fierce grill. They both share a thick, yet airy vanilla/sandalwood mist in the dry down, but Thrill has a slightly less pervading fog.
I detect a tiny whiff of my beloved & greatly missed Gloria (but, please, don’t get too excited Gloria-girls, it is sadly only a fleeting resemblance) & an even smaller drop of a more traditional man’s cologne from the 80’s which I can’t quite put my finger on.
Also folded into the vanilla-mix is a little YSL Elle on the dry-down. A little heady & more masculine than other warm female fruity-woodsy fragrances.
I have not liked Joop fragrances in the past, & I do not think Thrill will ever make my ‘want’ list, but this scent has surprised me. Well worth a try, even if you would never normally go near a male scent.
Joop! Thrill Man is a gorgeous sexy scent! I prefer it much more than Joop! Thrill Woman.
It seems to be more grounded, it's reminicent of the original Joop! Homme.
This fragrance is so odd. I was almost convinced when I sprayed this onto the spray card that I had accidently sprayed the female version instead. It's a very light scent, a lot lighter than what you'd expect from an EDT.
The top notes are indeed very fruity, but not citrusy and sour, more sweet. The base was slightly more masculine but still strangely sweet with vanilla mixed with woods.
I think this fragrance could be unisex. However, that being said, on the right man this could smell so very sexy.
I must say, Thrill is really an enteresting scent. When I saw the name and the poster, I just thought:"Oh my God, not again, another stupid and boring fresh scent's coming to town". But when I tried it, I got surpised. After about 15minutes of first notes which is full of fruits. Very normal and boring. The base notes come quickly and seductively. It's not fresh or hot or shock. It's dry, deep,masquilin and really nice. The woodsy notes combine together so nicely that makes me feel Thrill very similar to CdG's Tokio or Christian Lacroix's Tumulte pour homme. I think Thrill must have inside it a tiny incense which completes this one into a scent of mysterious, dark, attractive.Besides, there's one small problem. Thrill is not good at longervity. But to me, Thrill is so thrill.
i taste it today in one of our stores. I expected from reading this article a nice scent, but i can't say so. By spraying it on my hands, it smells on the one hand a little bit fruity, not long lasting, and on the other hand it smells sooo aromatic. But after a few minutes i've just smelled vanilla. i expected more than this... what's a pitty
