Photo by Karl Lagerfeld is a oriental spicy fragrance for men. Photo was launched in 1990. Top notes are aldehydes, lavender, mandarin orange, galbanum, bergamot and lemon; middle notes are cyclamen, honey, coriander, carnation, jasmine, caraway and rose; base notes are sandalwood, tonka bean, amber, patchouli, musk, benzoin, oakmoss, guaiac wood and cedar.

This one smells af it it was made to mark the end of an era - it's so typically old school that it's surpring it was released as late as 1990.

This scent doesnt last that long...i think is o.k. for summer at the office but nothing more...kind of agree with campy camp on this guy...most of KL scents are boring, vulgar, cheap smelling...but this is the less bad of them all.

Lagerfeld may well have taken the safe option with Photo, but it is well constructed; and has many satisfying phases. An audacious citrus opening is softened by a mild lavender note, which has a brief soapy quality. The resulting accord feels bracing, fresh and traditional. The heart note ingredients are never going to create a fragrance with great potency and sillage, but they do generate a contained herbal phase that is particularly satisfying. Beyond the heart notes, it dries down like a typical aromatic fougere; clean, powdery and masculine. It’s a simple sandalwood dominated finish with a subtle thyme garnish. Little creativity has been expended in the production of this fragrance, but it is well executed, and eminently wearable.

I got this fragrance for $19 Aus ($15 US for 125mL). Personally, I don't understand the "this scent is outdated" sort of comments. If a fragrance is good it is good. To me this is somewhat reminiscent of Gentleman by Givenchy, but sweeter and a bit flowery. It has a fougere-like start - a bit soapy like Paco Rabanne, but this subsides and the woody notes emerge. When I say it is similar to Gentleman, it is probably the patchouli that makes me connect these two. I am fond of patchouli and it is quite clear in both. It does not last anywhere near as long as Gentleman, but still lasts reasonably well.

This a pure CLASSIC ! A very strong and masculine scent like Cassiano said. The base is quite strong , but not too overpowering, it's not sweet and too floral, at least on my skin, it's great for hot weather and nights out in town. Ladies will definitely appreciate the classiness of this scent. The longevity it overall good, and sillage is average. A great scent !

Got it recently,a bit old fashioned no doubt but one says "Old is Gold"which very much applies to this fragrance.The sillage seems moderate especially the base note does not seem to be as lasting as it should have been,the head and the heart are pretty good though.

A 90's frag that smells of 80's. A bit sweet and too floral. It's confusing and outdated. Don't bother even testing it.

The only reason for naming such a smell photo is the fake and dead image of a person which photos present. Same image KL's scent is generating.

Do try life with Joop, Lolita Lempicka or Mugler's Cologne.

I think this must be one of the most outdated scents that is still around.
Loved it 15 years ago, but those times are over. Can't stand it anymore.

This is a wonderful men's scent!
Photo is strong and totally masculine.
The mix of aldehides, which make the scent more strong, with its base notes, give as a result a great scent.
Its bottle is simple and strong at the same time.
Sometimes it reminds me Azzaro, because of its smell on my skin.
For those who want to cause an impact, Photo is the perfect scent to choose.
