Sinner Kat Von D for women Pictures

Kat Von D presents two perfumes named Sinner and Saint in 2009. The fragrances have the same flacons coloured in red and white, with a tattoo piece on the neck of the flacon and with a beautiful stopper. Both editions can be found in amounts of 50ml EDP.

Sinner is created of refreshing notes such as mandarin, orange blossom and plum, which is in charge of provocative nuances. A heart incorporates jasmine essences accompanied with white flowers and cinnamon, while a base offers a mysterious blend of vetiver, patchouli and wood surrounded with vanilla and musk.

This smells generic, imo. Over last couple of years have smelled probably 5 scents similair, one of which Hanae Mori no. 3 comes to mind. Why is it that if a celebrities name is on a scent, its not that good?

I've been in a love hate relationship with Sinner, since I've got it a few months ago. I think it really depends on my mood if I like it. I do know that if there wasn't cinnamion, and woody notes in Sinner, I wouldn't like it. The reason I think I'm in a love hate relationship with this perfume is, because of the patchouli. It is mixed well though, that's what stumps me everytime. I do like Sinner more than Saint, and just looking at the notes with out smelling them, I would chose Saint over Sinner anyday, but that hasn't been the case. If you can find this for a decent price then it's worth it, if you really like warm spicy scents. This one is a bit stronger than what I usually go for, but then again, I think that's why I like it, then hate it, because it's different for me. Also I think it's because I really like woody notes in perfume, it really gets me. I think that's why most of the time I like it.

This is my absolute favorite scent, hands down. It's very warm and rich. It's sweet, but not cloying and there's an underlying darker woody/spicy scent and just a little bit of fruitiness.

I'm surprised to the read the reviews saying that it's too strong. I find it very soft and I am really sensitive to scents.

Often with perfumes, I'll like them when I first put them on, but by the end of the day, I'm sick to death of smelling them. Not the case with Sinner. It doesn't last for hours upon hours like some perfumes, but it doesn't fade right away either. And when I catch whiffs of it later in the day, I still love the scent.

This is probably suited more for night than day, but honestly, I wear it during the day too. Day is doable. It's not so dark that it's out of place in the daytime, but it's definitely a perfume that I'd choose for night before most other perfumes.

I'm very impressed with this scent and I'm just praying that Sephora doesn't discontinue it any time soon!

I love love love what Kat Von D has done with her two scents: Saint & Sinner.

I bought them both, and choose one a night based on what mood I'm in....am I'm feeling nice or am I feeling naughty?
;)

Sinner is definitely a naughty scent.
It's not something you immediately smell and go "mmmmm!"
It's something you have to wear and walk away and realize how interesting and sexy it is on your skin.

I definitely think it is a NIGHT time scent because who wants to be a sinner in the broad daylight - that ain't right.

It's a dark scent.

Its very hard to describe the notes because it is so different and complex.

I want to say cinnamon, because it absolutely has some sort of spice to it.

And then some sort of musk or tobacco that gives it that smokiness.

Maybe incense.

I love the scent because of its personality, not necessarily the fragrance. I like smelling soft and sweet, and this scent is neither of those.

But I swear, when I wear this scent....I get compliments!

I have the purse spray of this in the gorgeous "lighter" packaging. It was a gift that was hard to obtain as I'm in the UK but thankfully worth it as I do love the scent, it's just not quite how I expected from reading on here!

I really don't smell much patchouli in it on me, which I find a little disappointing as I LOVE patchouli. On me I smell much more fruitiness and a hint of sweetness, maybe vanilla and a touch of baby powder. The patchouli is so subtle in it on me. I can smell it in the initial dry down, but then it's much more fruity and musky.

The most disappointing thing for me is that is just does not last and you need to keep spraying and spraying it to keep smelling it! Someone else already mentioned it, but it's true. I wondered if it was my nose just getting used to it, but my husband couldn't smell it either. I like my scents to last and be a little more intense. I can't imagine getting a headache from it as someone else said!

Perhaps the rollerball is much more intense? Maybe I should invest in that as well as misting myself with the purse spray! I suppose there's a reason they made one to carry one around with you..

Spicy, woodsy, dark, exotic, sexy cinnamon musk. I use the roller ball, and cannot imagine 'spritzing' something like this - it should be slowly applied to your skin. You're really up to no good if you're wearing it. Danger danger. Night time only.

I loved the name, concept, bottle image, etc. But the smell was so strong it gave me an immediate headache and I had to go shower. I hated it. I wanted to love it, but my head just couldn't cope. I haven't had a fragrance ever do that to me before.

I really wished that Sinner and I got along better. In short, it just doesn't work with my body chemistry. Such a shame, because I've smelled this on other people before, and I've loved it.

On my skin, the fragrance just turns into this musky patchouli mess. It pretty much smells like baby powder spinkled over chlorine on my skin. Not appealing at all.

I gave my rollerball of this fragrance to a friend, and it smells great on her. On her skin, I definitely pick up more of the orange, cinnamon, and vanilla. With the patchouli and musk at the base of those other notes, it's a very spicy fruit with a very slight hint of sweetness with the vanilla. I guess on the right person, all of these notes create a sexy combination. On me, it smells like burning chemicals.

If I could wear this perfume, I would wear this exclusively at night, since it's pretty strong.

I have found that some men do not like this scent, but the ones who do REALLY love it. On me, the orange blossom is prominent, with the vanilla behind it. Now, that the weather is warming up, I won't wear it as much, except at night. This is also one I would not recommend for a gourmet restaurant. The blend of spices may interfere with the food, especially fish/seafood, or white wines. However, for an Italian restaurant with lots of red sauce, garlic and Chianti or Merlot, go for it!

I am surprised at how nice Kat Von D SINNER smells. Not sure why, except of course that it is a celebrity launch. Sweet floral patchouli is obviously a huge fad, and in SINNER I don't think that anything very new is being done, but the blend smells fairly good and better than some of the other perfumes occupying the same general olfactory neighborhood.

In some ways, this is a budget version of something along the lines of Juliette has a Gun VENGEANCE EXTREME. The big difference is that here the flowers are white, rather than roses. But the big, big patchouli, and the sweet vanilla come through even the fairly strong musk base. Although I hasten to add that this composition is quite a bit less musky than, say, Tocca CLEOPATRA, to which SINNER can be favorably compared.

Not bad at all. I do not believe that this smells cheap, although it is inexpensive relative to the niche analogues. To my nose, the plum in this composition is very low key, so I would not call this one a fruity chypre. No, this is a straightforward floriental, it seems to me. Needless to say: for patchouli lovers only!

When fist applied, this scents smells very similar to a sensual, mature fragrance like CK euphoria. It drys down a little sweet, and softens up a bit. I can't really detect one note, and definitely can't smell any floral notes at all.

I don't think the name sinner fits it at all, as it's not really 'sinful' feeling or smelling. Reminds me of an Avon perfume my mom used to wear, but I can't place my finger on which one. Maybe Imari or Imari seduction?

Re visited this scent again after a long period of time...At first when I recieved this I liked it.. but was more into her other scent at the time Saint. Tonight I was looking at my wardrobe, seeing what I havent "sampled" in a while... and picked this up. Wow.. completely different view. When I wore it before, I found it to be more floral, but tonight it went more to the sweet side, which I am loving bc I am a gourmand lover... I guess I will have to use it more often during these cold winter months! :-)

This scent is pretty meh, and I was expecting something if not unique then at least loud from the ever eccentric Von D.

The first spray is a little offensive, which I believe is a strong note of patchouli mixed with heavy jasmine. Luckily that quiets down and the base sets in within twenty minutes. While the base is fairly good smelling, it is very forgettable. Honestly, it smells more like the beginnings of a perfume, or what a perfume would smell like the next day rather than something on it's own. There isn't enough sinning in this to call it Sinner. Disappointed.

Like a previous reviewer mentioned, this scent reminds me of Gucci by Gucci. It doesn't least nearly as long as Gucci. I liked it for the first few weeks but after a while it got to be too much, and I am now realizing that I need my vanilla fragrances to be separated from white flowers. I like the purity of a strictly gourmand vanilla that is uninterrupted by white flowers. It is much more comforting and feels closer to my heart. If you like vanilla and patchouli together, then you'll like this. I mainly smell vanilla, patchouli and jasmine. Those that like a whole lot of notes thrown into the mix, this is the "vanilla" scent for you.

Omgoodness, now I know! This smells much like Hanae Mori edp! Only less soft/milky and more fruity. I have samples of both and like them both. Sinner is a more of an outgoing clubbingperfume, while Hanae Mori is the dreamy-mother-staying-at-home version (like in daydreaming, I don't know why that pops into my head with HM, but it does).

It opens light with an innocent facade of
Orange blossom and a bit of Mandarin then
in a few minutes to becomes deep and sensual with succulent ripe plums start
to steep into the senses like the demoness
Lilith from ancient Semitic myth who
seduces men to their deaths the plum has
a seductive power then dries to an spicy
edging of cinnamon and dries the middle
with jasmine hides beneath the sin in a
little crevasse The drydown is dark is
musk and woods the other notes like
Vetiver Patchouli and vanilla remains
elusive to senses and unfortunaly this
does'nt last it's fleeting like the moment of Adam and Eve in the garden of
Eden right before when eve picked the
fruit of sin and i bet what Sin smelled
like.

Kat Von D's "Sinner" has nothing to be ashamed of. Infact, she doesn't have a single bad bone in her body.

She is sweet with opening notes of plum and orange flower.

So how does she try to differentiate from her Duo sister, "Saint"?

by pushing the only sinful note in her, Cinnamon. >:)

I think with cinnamon, any fragrance can be associated with being "bad" or "dark" and this little vixen wants to show you just how bad she really is. (that sounded sexual...)

how does she do this? by pushing cinnamon inot the top notes and trying to make it last all through its life spam.

Like her sister, she too has a beautiful creamy finish.

A nice fragrance that can be worn at night out.

And if you wanna be daring, even during the day. :)

Slow-cooked plums with a bit of smokiness, something resinous and something sweet. Promising, but a tad murky and undefined. Reminiscent of Euphoria, but IMO not as well done.

Overall a decent, darkly fruity, somewhat gourmand, floral-oriental. Just not that special or original.

I love this perfume. It's the perfect blend of sweet and spicy for me. I can wear it days on end without getting bored. I don't smell the jasmine much until the way dry down and it lasts for about 8 hours on me with 2 sprays (one on clothes, one on wrists). Funny, the first time I sampled it I hated it, but I tried it a couple more times and it really grew on me. One of my current favorites!

I can see this being a hit for those who like super earthy fragrances, but it just wasn't for me. There is way too much patchouli for me, so much so that I can hardly smell anything else. If I try hard, I can almost smell vanilla, possibly plum as well.

On the plus side -if you like this perfume- it does have decent lasting power if you use a few sprays.

What a surprise to discover that Kat’s sin must be gluttony. This is a super-sweet, fruity and vanilla pastry scent from the get-go. Once I got over the shock of finding myself in the middle of a plum tart, I found myself enjoying the scent, which is at heart a conventional fruity gourmand floral-oriental, heavy on the vanilla. After about an hour there’s the tiniest hint of patchouli, but it’s not enough to make a dent in the sugary vanilla. At this point the scent becomes a fluffy puff of sweetness and light, a generic commercial drydown that eventually just dies away within 5-6 hours.

As another reviewer pointed out, Sinner has some of the same notes as Rochas Femme, but they’ve been taken from the bedroom to the all-you-can-eat dessert buffet and it’s a happy lick-the-fillo-pastry-crumbs-off-your-fingers fest rather than a serious seduction scene. Sinner is the kind of thing that’s easy and pleasant to wear when you're in the mood for something light and sweet. Many thanks to the generous forum member who sent me the sample!

SINNER opened nicely; I love the long top note of mandarin and plum. It didn’t smell plastic at all, just juicy and freshly sweet. Sadly it just went downhill from there.
I love cinnamon, but couldn’t detect any thanks to the overwhelming jasmine note… and when the dreaded (cue scary music) patchouli note mingles with the jasmine my stomach turned.
Overall I found SINNER to be a heavier version of Ricci Ricci.

The red bottle and engraved lid is eye-catching.
The staying power is very good too.

I don't think that because it's called Sinner that it needs to be super strong...I love the cinnamon, patchouli and vanilla...that is what stands out to me in this one...I personally like it mixed with Saint...but I do not mind wearing it alone...maybe people hyped it up to much and that's why they were disappointed...just a thought.

"Sinner" wasn't at all what I expected. With a name like "Sinner", I was expecting something bold, heady, uninhibited and wild. I was expected a much darker fragrance than what I encountered. Yes it smells good with it's boozy mix of plums and oranges, and its florals and woodsy base notes, but I must say I'm a bit diasappointed. The name is a bit misleading. It's more of a play it safe perfume as opposed to a dirty little secret in a bottle. Actually it bares similarities to "Calvin Klein's "Euphoria", just a lighter version. The composition doesn't really change. You pretty much get the same sweet woodsy smell from the beginning to the end. Nice and wearable, but more playful than sexy in my opinion. Modern and can be worn everyday.

Upon first sniff, I wasnt a big fan of Sinner, Saint won me over instantly and I purchased it. I thought it over, and decided I didn't give it a fair trial. So I went back and sampled it... I really didn't want to like this fragrance. Kat Von D is not a character who appeals to me. Also, I usually abhor floral notes but this is unlike any floral I've ever sampled before. This fragrance is intense and luscious. The opening to me is boozy dried roses but it dries down quickly to it's heart; something spicy, sultry, and dirty - but dirty in a good way! It's almost as if someone were trying to recreate the smell of a "cheap" perfume but used the best possible ingredients. The finale of creamy cinnamon musk lingers skin close for hours. I didn't expect this fragrance to be complex and interesting but I can't deny it's appeal.

This perfume is growing on me more and more each time I wear it. I get tons of luscious, juicy plum when I first spray it on, but there's a little bite in there, too. The cinnamon and florals smell almost tropical to me, very lush and sexy. The dry down is everything I love about an oriental floral: a little sweet, a lot spicy, and all sexy. I particularly like the balance of the patchouli, musk and vanilla in the bottom notes. Sinner could easily become one of my favorites.

Sinner is a great fragrance for people who generally go for brighter, fruitier fragrances, but want something a bit darker and spicier for a change...without assaulting their senses or getting a headache.

It is a burst of plum and florals that begin to wrap themselves in a warm blanket of patchouli and woods. Slightly spicy, very beautiful.

I actually prefer the dry down in this fragrance. A gentle, earthy patchouli really developes on my skin. I love it.

A good, pretty girl with an edge, letting her darker side come out for the first time.

I've stocked up on this and bought the gift set with lotion. Sinner is quickly becoming one of my favorite fragrances!

Well when I first sprayed this on, I couldn't decide how I felt. It was different from what I usually wear, so I was excited, it smelled a little more mysterious and different....but it never changed. It smelled the same from when I smelled it, til when I took a shower the next morning. I really like Saint, because it has more depth, it at first smells fruity and changes....that is what makes a perfume interesting to me....although I do think they are both lovely, if I had to pick one, I'd choose Saint.

Hmm, I expected something a little more edgy from a perfume by a girl like Kat Von D named "Sinner" but it wasn't at all bad. The beginning had a note much like grapefruit, which I rather liked. mmmmm. This is a hit for me and my lack of tattoos. I got the rollerball after using a tester for few days. It's warm with a little kick to make it mysterious. The patchouli and cinnamon are just enough to not let the scent be fruity/floral. It reminds me of a few other perfumes in a good way, but not enough so that I can pinpoint which ones. The downside is that you do have to keep putting more on every few hours if you don't want it to fade out, but for the price it's worth it. I think anyone could wear this anytime and it would be delightful, not sinful. It kind of a day-to-night all around gem

When a boozy plum note, like the one that opens Kat Von D's Sinner, hits your nose, you think "Ah, the perfumers drew their inspiration from the mother of all sexy plum perfumes, Femme Rochas."

And, in fact, Sinner does betray some similarities with Femme. I'd call it "a sheerer Femme for a new generation.'

While Femme's plum harmonizes with a rich peach note, Sinner's tangos with a spritely mandarin. Femme ends with dense oak moss. Sinner with a more contemporary vanilla and patchouli.

The best way to compare the two might be this:

Femme wears a sharp-shouldered, nip-waist 1940s black crepe suit, a lace bustier, fishnets and stilettos. She's grand, imperious, a bit of a dominatrix.

Sinner is an emanation of Kat Von D. She wears a barely-there leather bra, low-slung leather pants, hobnail high-heel boots and tattoos from her neck to her navel -- and beyond. She's sexy in a breezy, rocker-chick way.

Femme stretches her long legs from a vintage Checker cab. Sinner perches on a motorcycle.

You get the picture.

Sinner didn't last that long on me, but a couple of spritzes from a sample kept it going all day.

A lot of younger women are going to want to get it on with Sinner.

Okay so I have it on my wrist right now. It is softer then what you might think for something called sinner. too soft. I put it an two hours ago and its barely there. I smell a little cinnamon, musk and vanilla. But it faded so fast that I can't even really comment on it :( It has potential as long as you carry the fragrance with you. The bottle is pretty too.
