Vintage is a new fragrance by Kate Moss created in cooperation with the house of Coty. The perfume arrived on the market in autumn 2009. Its name was inspired by Kate's love for vintage clothes - she believes that such items hide history in themselves. The fragrance has fruity-floral character. It opens with pink pepper, freesia and mandarin, a heart introduces jasmine, heliotrope and almond blossom, while a base finishes with musk, vanilla and tonka. Vintage can be found as 15 and 30ml edt, accompanied with a body care collection.

I tested it and for me it´s DISGUSTING! On me it smelled only by awfull synthetic lemon- that same like in detergents. YUK!!
Really powdery and intense vanilla. i tried this one again the other day, I used to own it several years back but ended up giving it away as I never used it. It wasn't that I didn't like the smell, in fact I like it very much if I'm in the mood for it, its that the lasting power is terrible on me :( I like it the most after its just been sprayed, towards the end (say after an hour) it gets a little too sweet vanilla for me, it does however still retain some powderyness. I love the scent and I love Kate Moss scents in general but they all seem to suffer from having no longevity and this one i think suffers the worst from it. I am considering re-purchasing but the longevity is a huge negative as I'd probably go through a bottle in a week! lol xxx
i really love this perfume, it's very soft and powdery and the vanilla is really intensive. however, i only wish it would last longer. the scent practically disappears after about an hour
the vanilla is overpowering but not unpleasant.
Pink pepper? Really? Doesn't turn out on my skin, pheeew! Being a pepper-hater it would have ruined it all for me, but instead it get a almondy-sweet-vanilla-fruitcake, matching my chemistry perfectly!
This one is obviously not available in my home, so I found in on a trip, instantly falling in love with it.
Wished it had more lasting power though.
This is undeniably pretty. It is somewhat reminiscent of vintage lipstick/face powder. The almond blossom, heliotrope and tonka bean combine to create a sweet, delicate skin scent deepened with a subtle vanilla and delicious musk. Consistent throughout is the same gorgeous freesia I love in Velvet Hour (another favourite of mine). I sampled it yesterday and it lasted for hours - I couldn't resist sniffing my wrist over and over - but it stays close. I went back today and bought a bottle - it's inexpensive so I figure I can afford to douse myself in it - and I plan to! I'm sure it won't offend anyone - quite the opposite.
a nice perfume , but you come to know after letting it stay for a time especially at the end when it is pure musk. ummmmm. i love it (i ignored it at start) . long lasting. i think i can wear it even if it is for women. it reminds me of gucci by gucci for women.
I loved it when i first smelled it, n it was inexpensive, so i tho this was a great catch of the day!
Went home, sprayed it on myself n my brother was like... puuuke what did u spray on urself,..... the following day, i made my girl friend smell it n she was like its smells like toilet sprays her big sister sprays in her bathroom, n the sorry thing is that my boy friend said it smells cheap! that was the last time i used it n now its sitting on my perfume shelf doing nothing!! :((
I love this smell soft and clean and not expensive for buy and reminds me of Flower by Kenzo Le Parfum Kenzo for women. But am happy have found this.
this is definitely as its name says 'Vintage' scent. tea-like aroma, fresh citrus, vanilla and oldie's florals. I almost detect dewy scent which adds to the 'long time ago appeal'. no powder here. Longevity 5 hours. It's worth the price! aaaand the bottle is uber cute:)
Good stuff! Not great, but good. Vintage is a creamy almond vanilla but I prefer the peppery opening, it has a little more character in the top than in the base but it will be perfect for work days or chill out weekends. Sadly it doesn't have great lasting power but for the price you can afford to keep topping up during the day.
I like the fragrance but I don't like Kate Moss.
In the beginning of my particular interest in perfumes, that is about 1,5 ago, I came across Vintage and fell in love with it fast. Nowadays I know why - it is a cheaper (still great!) reference to L'Instant Magic and I love/like many fragrances of Guerlain.
I admit that this is a modern show of vintage style in this fragrance and it's a very good perfume. Suitable for cold days, with almonds, tonka, pepper, mandarine, jasmine, vanilla well detectable. A touch of vintage but in a good meaning of the word, feels classy even if it's signed by a celebrity. I like the bottle very much. Staying power is good. It reminds me of L'Instant Magic or Boucheron, Trouble a bit (but Trouble is darker). A bit of Burberry Brit.
A thick perfume- one of the best signed by celebrities. Compared to L'Instant Magic: imo Vintage is lighter, L'Instant Magic is darker. It's a very good attempt to imitate L'Instant... but L'Instant is more classy, made of better ingredients, that's Guerlain! Also, L'Instant is black/pink in my imagination and Vintage is bottle green/white. All in all Vintage is a very good celebrity perfume, I haven't tested anything better from this shelf. Lasting power on me - about 6 hours.
I love this scent! but I have no other fragrance by kate so I can not compare, but it feels as if this suit most people, so well done!
When I first smelled this perfume I didnt like it, and it sat on my shelf until running low on my signature scent one day I decided to use it rather than go without perfume. It is very soft and subtle, perfect for daytime wear to work, nothing overpowering. There is something however during the drydown that catches my nose that I cant pinpoint and Im not overyly fond of it. Like others here I didnt find anything special with this fragrance, its ok but nothing exciting.
sooo vintage!!! (in a good way) well done kate!
Just found thi sone at my drugstore in liquidation section! i've never really tempt to try Kate Moss perfume before so i was there surching for a new scent! and then try this one out !! i was delightly surprise, love the sample but sophisticate bottle very vintage :) i admit it's smell soft, sofisticated very powdery on me i kind of love powdery perfume :) right now!
i haven't really smelled any flower in it but i have like it so much i decide to buy it! wow! i should go see what Kate's as in her closet 'cause this VINTAGE frangrance reminds me of rich, sure thing & did i say sophisticate :)
i think this is a keeper & a must
not to over power just wonderful i can see myself with a nice white flowing silk dress or just a pair of blue jeans & a nice t-shirt 1 shoulder down :)
yah! love it
Let me start by saying with Vintage I only detected a soft subtleness. Very sublime actually. I totally love the classic square bottle with its light smoky quartz colour. In a way very vintage looking. This fume had me baffled for a while. When spritzing it at first I could smell absolutely nothing, yes notthing. Then 2min later I got a bit of a leathery smell like old shoe leather. I was beginning to think I got hints of what reminded me of Kelly Caleche which was rather strange but then with a complete twist it went all puff powder.
There is definitely something reminiscent of L'instant Magique, but not completely. Vintage however is much more faint & delicate whereas L'instant is more full in your face powdery with a tinge of Liquorice , for me atleast. Once again personally if there is any comparison to be made then there would be more similiarities with Van Cleef First Love but yet again Vintage being the much more subtle one.
So all & all it reminds me of pressed puffed powder but not the lasting kind. Maybe it was meant to capture the essence of a Victorian style womens beauty? So no mustyness just lots & lots of very delicate antique powder. Have to add that the stopper on the bottle was such a mission to remove. Not sure if thats meant to be congruent of the vintage feel Lol! Nevertheless its a likeable & non-offensive fume if it ends up fitting your skin chemistry, it most certainly agreed with me : )
I have tried this one again, and I just can't be bothered with it. There is definitely a stale smell in there which is what Kate was trying to achieve so she has done a good job because it does smell like second hand things like an old vintage antique shop. It doesn't last unless you use the lotion which is hard to get. It makes your clothes smell second hand so it just is a NO for me I just can't take to it. I will stick to Cinema or L Instant or something like that. I am glad some people like it because it is a pretty bottle and it is affordable so good luck to them I am jeolous!!
Light, fresh and clean. Good for daytime. Quite discreet, I'd say it's one for work rather than smelling amazing for going out. Surprisingly floral.
this scent reminds me of a nice baby powder scent . Soft and delicate, i like to wear this at home and smell fresh all day. Got this on sale with the lotion set and i like to wear the lotion after a hot bath at night just before bed. Its not my outdoors scent type though...this is ok but after one bottle i will not buy this again.

By the way I meant Fendi Palazzo not Palermo!! Not sure where I got that from.
When it came out I wondered whether to buy it, because the beginning is nice and it's inexpensive. Luckily I test-sprayed it on me several times to find out that I do not care enough for this scent that is nice but also average.
This reminds me of Fendi palermo and the old Escada Signature that smelt wierd. I swear they all have that same sweet smell. I agree it is like l instant. I like it I try not to think about the vintage name because it pychs you out and you think of second hand clothing. If I keep that image out of my head it is a lovely fragrance and very different from J Lo than God.
It is all about almonds, sweet almonds, which I am not sure I enjoy so much! Overall it does have a different vibe to it I admit, which would explain the name Vintage
I imagine trunks of old clothes when I smell it, sitting in a victorian attic!. It stays rather smooth, nothing sharp about it, almost a linear scent! almonds and tonka!!
I cant say I like it, just not my style!
Smells like melted vanilla icecream with something nutty in it. Like a very poor and boring wannabe version of the Iceberg Fragrance. The cool bottle doesn't match this unappealing scent.
I love this perfume. Reminds me of L'Instant de Guerlain which is my all time favorite perfume.
I can see a lot of very average reviews for this fragrance, and I think probably rightly so in the scheme of all things perfume. By comparison to the rest of her line however, this one is definitely, for me, the best.
I really enjoy this perfume to be honest. Its easy to wear. Its affordable for every day. Its agreeable with almost everyone. The bottle is lovely. The wear time (on me) is pretty good. Nice sillage. I really dont have anything bad to say about it. No its not an outstanding frag, nor a groundbreaker, but there is nothing remotely bad about it either.
A sweet (not edible sweet) floriental composition, Im pleased the Pink Pepper doesnt jump at you. Its mild, and knows it place. The heliotrope I feel only adds to the base notes, and I do get the feeling that this is a base heavy fragrance, plenty of vanilla and musk, which for me is fine.
Overall its lovely. Highly wearable, highly giftable and all round good value. In my collex now, will remain there as well :)
I tried my Christmas present today and I must say it is one of the best celeb-perfumes I had so far. It gives absolutely a vintage feel but I can´t tell which ingredient evokes that feeling. The overall impression is a fresh, crisp scent with just enough sweetness and I can´t recall any other perfume that it resembles. It feels unique. I used it with body lotion and the scent lasted all day. Can also tell that I got a few compliments during the day.
I absolutely love this! It smells beautiful and really lasts (on me anyway, but then most fragrances stick to me like glue). It's really reasonably priced and so I use this as my 'day smell' as I can afford to wear it all the time. It reminds me of a lighter and sharper YSL Cinéma, which is another scent I adore, but that one is warmer and 'thicker' somehow & comes with a much steeper price tag, meaning it has to be kept for best. Haven't tried Guerlain's L'instant Magic but will have to now as it is clearly going to fall within the types of scents I go for. I honestly don't smell old clothes or old tea bags or any of the other things people have said they can smell in this, I just smell a beautifully sweet and creamy vanilla-tinged floral. As celebrity scents go, this is definitely in a league of its own.
Not a stand out fragrance and sadly it doesn't last long on my skin. It's not too expensive though and is more suited as a day perfume since it's a light scent yet have some notes of musk, a bit vanilla and citrus.
After wearing Vintage for a while the vanilla and freesia is the most prominent on my skin. I have to say for being a celeb perfume the bottle is very nice and suitable for it's name, can't say the scent reminds me of vintage though.
At first, I`d like to thank you all who mentioned this being similar to L`Instant Magic, which I love, but hesitate to buy because of the price. That is so true and I need to get a bottle of this asap!
So soft, warm and dreamy! Just like white pashmina scarf.
The bottle is so lovely and the juice in it is very soft and does have that vintage feel about it.Can be used as an everyday scent.I do like this it has a light sweet floral vanilla smell.Lasting power is not great .
On me the opening was promisingly interesting, fresh yet warm, but then I could smell only vanilla, for long hours after trying. I would love this scent, but the vanilla note, which I don't like, was overpowering on my skin. But the bottle is outstanding.
Lovely, lovely, soft, powdery scent with a hint of citrus, but unlike its name it doesn't seem to have staying power. After about an hour it evaporated completely. Shame really.
I must say Vintage is my favourite fragrance of those I know, though I might not have a big history of wearing perfumes. Definitely my winter signature smell. It IS different and might be considered strange, that's why I'm really worried it will soon follow SJP's Covet onto the discount shelves. It is a love or hate smell, I know, but when such smell is a love, it is an addictive one, an obsessive and passionate one. It's funny how when a woman finds her signature fragrance, the "can't get enough" one, those men that matter in her life are all equally in awe of the perfume, they say "Wow" or "Mmmmmm.." or "Oh, that's you, that is so...you".
If one could marry a fragrance, I would want Vintage to propose to me, but since the juice considerably lacks staying power, I and Vintage had to limit ourselves to just occasional quickies :)))
I smell in it a bit lemony and a rich vanilla notes.
But this simplicity makes a great duett and I like this perfume.
I don't like this one at all. It's not vintage like I had in mind. It smells like anise and licqourice, eventhough it's not even in it! I think it's too dusty and sharp. Vintage is roses and lily-of-the-valley. To me it's a mix of some scents that don't even match well.
Oriental? Maybe...
Floral? No way!
I live in New Zealand and my sister-in-law who lives in the UK got me a tester bottle of Kate Moss Vintage and fell in love with it. But am unable to find it in NZ or duty free. And she believes it was only a tester. Where can i buy a bottle of Vintage??????
Thanks
Miss Moss' other scents have not sat well on my skin....but what of Vintage? The jury is out.
All-in-all, an inoffensive soft vanilla scent...& yet it has this fusty, musty "used" quality that at once repels & intrigues. Vintage used to mean something of age & quality, a car or fine wine...but recently in the UK it has been used to add glamour, spice & a few zeros on the pricetag of anything second hand...& Moss' Vintage ain't true vintage to this nose.
That said, it isn't too bad. It is as if the warm-bodies & baby powder that I find in Shalimar have been mixed with a little of the peppery musky heat in Sonia Rykiel Woman & stirred ino plenty of vanilla. This has then been pared down, sweetened up for today's tastes & abstractly interpreted by a youthful Moss-devotee.
Curious, but not curious enough for me to take interest. Just too vanilla. Add a bit more bite & a taste of what this Vintage could have been....a perfume of glowing, leathery bodies stretched out on a ripped up & powdered down vintage chaise longue...then I may perk up a little.
I tried it in a shop today, I was driven to it by the bottle, how beautiful and unusual is that little gem! Now the first thought that came into my mind was (like Marisa36 already noticed) second hand clothes! It's the typical smell you get when you enter a vintage shop, mainly from the suede leather coats with fur collars. It develops shortly after that into a lemon cake, brings you back to the suede coats over to my Grandmother when she hugged me good night back to the lemon cake, meadow-summerwind which fades down in the vintage shop... it is a nice smell, very soft, not sweet. Staying power is ok. It's just such a delicate smell it vanished from my skin after 2 hours but still lingers in my pullover since 4 hours now which makes it smell second hand.
Not sure if I like that...
Got a sample of this over the weekend. Very puzzled by this fragrance as I'm finding it very hard to actually smell anything other than old second hand clothes stored in a cupboard with no ventilation? Hence the name VINTAGE? LOL. Maybe the sample is off I don't know. Just plain weird.
I had high expectations for this perfume
the bottle is beautiful a art deco emerald cut light bottled green colored
falcon reminiscent of 30's glamour or
jean harlow's dressing room or the movie dinner at eight. i'v been anticipating this for days but when it arrived i was dissapointed i expected
a heavy incense oriental but i got is a light wispy scent of freesia orange
cherry blossom to me it's a lighter
younger version of chanel eau premire
this has to grow on me.
I'm envious of those who were able to detect floral notes, because I seem to be the only one here who reckons Vintage smells alot more like Almond Vanilla Birthday cake sprinkled with pepper.
Thank god this one didn't last too long, I disliked it instantly. Even the girls who tried to sell this to me agreed it was very 'different and strange'.
It's unfortunate that many of Kate Moss' fragrances are often overlooked. Amidst the celebrity perfume releases, Kate's fragrances aren't half bad.
My favourite from her is still Velvet Hour, however Vintage stands out in its own unique way. The scent itself is quite fresh and pleasant, with only a slight touch of floral notes.
I would have preferred the pink pepper note to be slightly more prominent in the opening, as it is a little too subtle in my opinion. The mandarin orange note is also quite subtle, so the freesia really comes forth.
The freesia note actually reminds me of a freesia scented soap that my Mother uses, so in a way, Vintage has a somewhat clean, 'straight out of the shower' quality.
The heart can only be described as pretty. The jasmine, heliotrope and almond blossom are mild and slightly powdery. Due to the sillage not being very strong, Vintage is quite intimate.
There's far too much musk in the drydown, which I found overshadowed the vanilla and tonka bean notes. It smelt like musty sheets that had been stored in a dark closet for too long. However on my friend, the drydown is surprisingly the best part, as it smells deliciously nutty and vanillary.
While Vintage has played it safe here with a very basic composition, I'll add that this fragrance is difficult to dislike. I actually didn't have a problem with the lasting strength, as I thought it lasted quite well on both myself and my friend.
Picked this one up on a whim: just sniffed the unbelievably pretty bottle. Other Kate Moss fragrances haven't really agreed with me, but Vintage and I have become very good friends over the past few weeks.
The opening is light and airy: fresh flowers, pink pepper and something almost a little metallic behind it all; perhaps the freesia-citrus combination.
After it's settled for a while, it develops into a very pleasant and cosy scent: soft, warm and slightly sugary. And here's why I think it lives up to it's name: in many modern fragrances, the different components stand out a lot, sometimes almost fighting for attention. But in Vintage - as well as in many of the old classics - the different notes blend together nicely, none of them breaking off or taking over on its own.
The final drydown has a little sweetness, a lot of pepper, and that vague metallic scent - which makes me think this would also work on some men - is still hanging in there.
A subtle, likable scent; maybe nothing for a wild night out, but great for everyday wear. It seems to last a lot longer on me than on other people, but of you want the initial kick to last, reapply during the day.
This is so similair to guerlain l`instant magic,i was shocked..But i dont know if the drydown is the same.I like l`instant magic so i find this one very pleasant.Very soft and just a bit sweet.
I think alot of you are very wrong. I'm 15 and love the scent, it is very fresh though unique!!
This is a simpler and cheaper version of Guerlain L'Instant Magic... although not so much cheaper, as I've heard, so... dunno.
I think this is just lovely!
To me it smells exactly how I want my perfume to smell. It is elegant and ladylike but in a very innocent and restrained way.
The vanilla makes it soft, cosy and warm, while light flowers and citrus add a fresh and lively touch.
To me it embodies a romantic kind of feminity without being too girly. The staying power is great (at least on my skin) and it fits either day and night.
Altough my taste normally is more "expensive" I just love it and it will accompany my winter.
This is a light little perfume, I smell mostly vanilla. I got it for 10 euros on ebay so I can't complain, but to pay more for this perfume would leave me disapointed.
Thank you very much for the recommendation Cactus Flower. I managed to source out Guerlain L'Instant Magic!
Although the two scents are near identical, the drydown on Guerlain L'Instant Magic is different - more powdery, whilst Vintage retains the vanilla? scent - and I think this is what I like in the Kate Moss perfume.
I will definantly continue to wear the L'Instant Magic and hope that I can find the one....
Smells really good ! The Almond blossom is dominant. Reminds me of Cinema YSL, but Vintage is not so heavy.
I bought the perfume this weekend two hours after i've tried it on(to see how it developed on my skin)and i have to admit it smells gourgeously!!!!It is quite floral as you spray it on but then it settles down to a really vintage type of smell. It strongly reminds me of an actual vintage edp, my greatnanna used to have and i've just 'inherited' the empty bottle (which still smells faintly)for my boudoir:a classical 1920's smell: 'ARPEGE' DE LANVIN.Another gorgeous perfume but unfortunately discontinued now.But luckily we have KATE'S 'VINTAGE' to spray it on now-not all vintage or old fashioned scents have rose or violet/lavender top or middle notes,so very enthusiastic about this one. from an 'ARPEGE'DE LANVIN NOSTALGIC
Have to be honest on me it does have a vintage feel to it, the pink pepper stays on me through out and it is rather a subtle scent, maybe for everyday wear. It is very chic , and I like the bottle. May have to pick this one up one time. Maybe layering with the body lotion helps the staying power!
I sooo wanted to have this one. I think the bottle is beautiful and I was in the need of discovering a new, pleasant, warm scent for autumn. "Vintage" looked promising. Unfortunately the opening lasts very short and then it quickly dries down to an overpowering vanilla smell. On my skin the sweet notes develop to an absurd extent and therefore I can only wear really subtle fragrances. Perhaps on someone else it wouldn't get so sickly. The smell is lovely, too bad it gives me a headache :/
Finally I bougt a bottle of this perfume. I must say it's still very pretty and sensual, a soft, feminie mandarin note starts the harmony and a subtle, warm musk and vanilla finish it. The only drawback is that it dries down very quickly, altough the drydown is nice. Also, it may be necessery to reapply it one or two times a day. It's a pity, while in my country it belongs to the higher cost celeb scents.
About the bottle: it's colour is definetely better than a pink punch, and it's good to tkae it in hand. It's simple but nice on my shelf. Finally, the name Vintage is the real problem, you expect really something different from the juice you get.
Although, this is a very nice scent, it does have its drawbacks. The staying power is next to nothing, which is bad even for an EDT.
However, I really do like this scent and wonder whether anybody can recommend a similar smelling perfume with longer staying power?
The more I smell this on the tester paper the more I like this scent. I should try it on my pulse points anyway but on the paper it blooms very beautifully, it's fresh at first, a floral with some fruity and peppery notes, then it becomes creamy, subtle and classic due to its calssic base notes. I think it worth a try!
I liked Velvet Hour a lot but as I tried Vintage I think I prefer the later. Ok, they are totally different perfumes, in different style. Maybe Vintage is nothing special but very nice for a celeb scent! Excellent for everyday use, feminie, soft, a bit picant with the red pepper that isn't as unique today as it used to be but still.... it adds something to a simple type of scent, too. However, I agree that the name Vintage doesn't match with the juice.
the best kate moss fragrance so far, but still not great!it's just ok but nothing special!
There’s not really much to say about Kate Moss’ latest fragrance VINTAGE.
After breaking out of the predictable fruity/floral mix with her last scent Velvet Hour, she and Coty have done a U turn back to the Kate blueprint.
All I get is a mild mix of unidentifiable floral notes and nothing else. The staying power is non-existent. Within 20 minutes of application I couldn’t smell a thing.
The bottle is very pretty; it’s what made me notice VINTAGE in the store. The name doesn’t match the juice at all – I would have gone for lavender, rose and/or violet for a vintage type fragrance.
