Heliotrope & Ylang-Ylang are very dominant. The description here sound good so I tried it but for me it's too sweet and intense.
It's a very pleasant floral-citric scent, where both flowers play the major role. I can't discern between heliotrope and ylang-ylang, they concurr to a single beautiful floral note. The lemon brings exactly the freshness to soften the otherwise intense floral notes. I almost would like even more lemon in it, though I usually don't like sourness. The most beautiful is its velvety character. The sillage becomes poorer with the time, which is, for my purposes, good, as I don't like bold florals. Nevertheless the longevity is not affected (the smell becomes more discrete, without completely disappearing). All in all, a good investition, an enrichment for every collection. Very suitable as a signature, I would say, too.
I'm happy I asked my boyfriend to bring it from Greece.
Fresh and floral with a pleasing warmth- a very nice combination. The lemon somehow makes it more adult and less girly, although anyone could wear it. I like the slight powderiness too.
I would use this for work, excursions, lunch with friends etc, as it is not overpowering.
Okay~here we go! I wasn't sure what to expect w/this one which is appropriate because this is unexpected. It starts off w/an exotic citrus punch. It's rose and citrus out of the gate w/soft heliotrope in the background.
As it starts to warm up and dry down just a bit on the skin the rose becomes part of a much softer floral accord that feels like it would be perfect for an island. You can definately smell the influence of jasmine but it's blended very well and certainly doesn't stand alone. The powder from the heliotrope is very much a part of this fragrance yet it still feels light enough for summer through fall.
The vanilla, amber, and musk do an excellent job of supporting the notes w/out overtaking them or limiting them to cold weather. It's really got a beautiful oriental edge to it. It's got that very feminine vacation by the beach feeling w/out the usual coconut note that accompany's such a composition.
On the rating scale of 1~10 in my household my Husband gave this an unprecedented "9". Unheard of. Seriously. I believe in all of my "parfum carreer" there's only been 1 other that broke the top rating of an 8.
This one was an unsniffed purchase and there's nothing quite as satisfying for me as when one of these gambles turns out well. Yaaaay!
