Krizia Uomo by Krizia is a Woody fragrance for men. Krizia Uomo was launched in 1983. The nose behind this fragrance is Firmenich. Top notes are aldehydes, artemisia, juniper berries, mandarin orange, basil and lemon; middle notes are cyclamen, carnation, sandalwood, jasmine, cedar, pine tree needles and geranium; base notes are leather, patchouli, musk, oakmoss and vetiver.

Very good aromatic scent - woody but also very green. I have a strong love for fragrances like this...and give kudos to Krizia for this bottle of very good quality fragrance. The lemon, aldehydes, juniper berries, soap suds and moss pour onto your skin...with a nice light floral musk note kicking in soon after with some leather and a concoction of flowers, artemisia and the key midnote that defines this fragrance - pine needles. However, all of this comes together in a big, lathered up soapy delivery. The drydown gets more powdery with a touch of dusty cedar and cypress to keep freshness. This never gets heavy.
I, too, thought of Halston 1-12 from years ago (and then went and purchased a bottle of it after several times wearing Krizia Uomo and really liking it). Personally, while I really like Krizia Uomo, the cleanliness and refreshing notes of Halston 1-12 outshine a very solid bottle of juice in Krizia - I was surprised! Nothing against Krizia - it actually has better longevity than Halston 1-12 (EDT vs. EDC), but when it comes down to just scent...Krizia is a close 2nd place. Like it a lot and it will be in my rotation along with Halston 1-12 when I want a longer-lasting scent. A solid 7/10 and recommended, especially for the price. Krizia is a very good house to watch and almost unknown.
Update: I reassessed this just now as Halston 1-12 was my SOTD. I put Krizia Uomo on 15-20 minutes ago to compare them. Everytime I reach for a green, Krizia Uomo and 1-12 are in my mind...usually opting for Halston. But, after doing a before and after comparison...I have to say that a lot of notes in the Krizia really shine and make it so vastly unique. This is very European - specifically very Italian. I like it more than before...not saying one is better than the other at this point. The blast of lemon and aldehydes on top mix so well with the florals and juniper. Very good! I have come down to the simple approach - if I want a "clean & green" scent, I reach for Halston. If I want a "soapy green" scent, then Krizia Uomo. Highly recommended.
Somewhere between an air freshener or room spray and a personal fragrance. Another way to think of it is that it's like a band who tells you they are a "one hit wonder," but their one "hit" wasn't that popular. It is somewhat similar to One Man Show, which has cruder top notes, but has better note separation, and also better dynamism. The drydown on KU is like a coalescence. And once it gets there, that's it. It's a bit green, a bit powdery, a bit piney, a bit spicy, a bit soapy, etc., but basically formless. It's not a chemical/synthetic mess but there is nothing that generates much interest. If I want pine, for example, I'm probably reaching for Green Jeans. For a green, leathery, mossy fragrance, there is Polo. And so forth. Also, there is something in here that irritates my throat, which I have yet to encounter in any of the other fragrances I've sampled over the last few years (hundreds of them).
This is my kind of fragrance! I waited two months for this to arrive from overseas and have worn it today for the first time. Considering how good this fragrance is - it can be bought remarkably cheaply.
This reminds me of a number of other fragrances: It is like Polo Green, but not as pungent; it is like Francesco Smalto pour Homme, but without the smokiness and it is like Pino Silvestre, but stronger and with a floral heart.
It is in good company.
This is Polo's little brother and is crisper and soapier. If we imagine that Polo is to be worn by a lumberjack, axe in hand returning from a day's work in the conifer forest, Krizia is worn by him on his day off as, freshly showered, he walks down the hillside through conifer trees and fields of flowers.
Krizia has a soapiness which works with the coniferous notes to create an effect which is long-lasting and fresh. Yet this freshness is not the freshness of the sea (like so many aqualtic fragrances), it is the freshness of a mountain breeze. As the heart notes are revealed I see glimpses of Halston 1-12, especially in the jasmine.
The longevity is good - and its sillage is more than respectable. I have a 19 year old daughter who loves coniferous scents and she is crazy about Krizia - I will be giving her a decant of this.
my dad used this fragance when i was a little kid, i like it,very nice scent, very clean.....
Get ready for a trip to Tuscany or somewhere else in the Italian countryside. Opens with a blast of citrus and lavender. Then it moves into jasmine, cypress and other woody notes. It starts out quite strong as other '80's fragrances do, but give it a chance and the dry-down is heaven. Packaged in a beautiful Pierre Dinand designed deco-inspired bottle.
